Oh lord where do I begin K, waited for a table for like 30 minutes or so. I was okay with that. Then I got seated in a booth. The waitress oh got, oh man. This is how I describe her, SHE WAS AWFUL I think she was an amateur but she SUCKED CHICKPEAS DAWG! When I was ordering, she didn't ask any questions whatsoever. For example: when I ordered Chicken wraps, I just said chipotle. I totally forgot to ask for grilled chicken because I'm not a big fan of their fried chicken. But she didn't say ANYTHING! A good waiter/waitress ask you questions along the way like "how would you like your eggs" or "sausage or bacon?" SHE DIDNT SAY NUTHIN MAN My plate was a disaster when it came out. The food is as any other Dennys is expected to be. While Dennys is not a hole in the wall, so it is easy to go down to my local Dennys. I always choose the south first street Dennys over most other locations due to the friendly and overall enjoyable customer service received. Javier especially is the reason I keep coming back, while is speedy in his service he never fails to ensure we are taken care of when we stop by. "Burning rubber " while he quickly and efficiently brings food/ refills drinks for our table and others along his professionalism to ensure everyone is taken care of. This Denny's was okay. I came here with my uncle since he likes to eat at Denny's. The parking lot had plenty of spots when we came in the morning just before 9am. We were seated in a booth and were provide menus. There were quite a few people here so it was a little busy. It had been a long time since I went to Denny's so I was exploring the menu. I finally decided on the Build Your Own Grand Slam ($7.89) and chose eggs, hash browns and two pancakes (each came with 2 pancakes) as well as orange juice. The food was okay and nothing special. The pancakes were fluffy so that was good. I was pretty full after I finished everything. This place was okay for breakfast and would probably come back in the future if I'm too lazy to drive somewhere else for breakfast. I'm adding in my update as I came back again before posting this review. My uncle, brother and I came here for dinner. Their Bourbon Chicken Skillet ($9.99) was okay and the other dishes my uncle and brother ordered also looked okay. Service was slower than the first time I was here. If you don't mind the service being hit or miss and the food being okay, then come by for some food. read more

I was just trying to dine-in and was greeted with no service for the first 7 minutes until someone finally came and lead us to our table. We were a large group so we were seated at a big table. However, we weren't too pleased with the seating so we kindly asked if we could be relocated to a more discrete location and not in the middle of everyone. We were rudely told we had to remain there due to the waiter's lack of motivation to do his job. He told us that it wasn't possible to be moved because he was "the only waiter and didn't want to have to clean any other tables". We left to another place because if they still had 2 other parties waiting to be seated, then we'd be getting our food really really late. read more

10/19/21 I cannot believe I am saying this. I mean seriously... I can't see hell from here (...or can I???......) but surely it's frozen. Best meal of the month: Denny's. W T F. ...and since we are on this road now, you know, talking about these shameful things and all (yeah, I listened to Britney Spears too, even went to a concert, so what?1??--that's right), well, this would be the first time I've been to any Denny's since moving up here 7 years ago. In fact, I have yet to go to one with my gf, and she has never been to one herself! How is that possible? For shame. Anyway, today's date was my 2yr old boy, and man... that's something... You see, he's... well, I dunno if he's normal, or perhaps I'm just a terrible dad, but the little dude is a hurricane. I ordered him a shake, which came after like 10min, but then soon after the waitress appeared and said they didn't have the mini dogs I ordered (right, 10min after I placed the order). Well........... she soon learn the error of her ways cause Dane (my kid) went to work. No food, just a shake in front of him........... that's a bucket of paint on a fresh canvas!!! Well, so we had... 1. Oreo Jr. Milkshake $1.99 (BUT... they forgot to enter this, but ALSO FORGOT to take off the mini dogs for $4.49 which I just noticed, so I guess they more than double charged me!): Shake was good though. 7/10 2. Mini Corn Dogs $4.49: Like I said, they didn't have this, and I was told 10-15min after, giving time for Dane to paint their booth Oreo color. So, another 10min or so passed, and we finally got some food some 20-30min after placing our orders. I asked the waitress for a stack of napkins. That's after I grabbed a few pre-made place settings when I could find her, for the napkins. Used them ALL. 3. Country-Fried Steak $14.69 "two chopped beef steaks smothered in country gravy, served with two sides and dinner bread": Yup. I dunno what this means. Surely some inter-dimensional physics came into play. Look, I love 2 American breakfast foods: Biscuits and Gravy, and Chicken Fried Steak. If I see them on the menu, I get them. Period. Now, granted, my gf loves these hipster or high-end brunch places, and thus Country Fried Steak is hard to find at the restaurants we typically find ourselves in, but I've had my share anyway somehow. Yeah man, Denny's chicken fried steak is EASILY the JUICIEST of ALL of them. I don't care what famous chef made my last few, or that I paid 3x as much,............ this here steak was so juicy after I cut into it I could see the moisture leaking through the meat pores, glistening, like a beautiful girl's skin after the greatest of nights after the night. Enchanting. The crust may not have been as crispy as some of the artisanal fancy-schmancy ones I've had, but it was plenty good anyway. OH, and the gravy?--flavorful, thick, creamy. This Denny's. This Chicken Fried Steak. 10/10 3a. Wavy-Cut Fries: Holy F. WHAT THE F is going on????? Even their fries are great! No, they're not "wavy cut" at all. Like that's a straight up lie, as straight as the fries themselves. But, they are cut a little differently--kinda like 2 skinny fries stuck together on purpose? Anyway, they were crisp on the outside, and soft inside, and thus lending surface area to an otherwise thick fry. Compare that to my last review of Proposition Chicken where their thick cut fries were nearly raw in the middle. And that's some hipster sht there too. Anyway, get these fries instead. 8.5/10 3b. Red-Skinned Mashed Potatoes and Gravy: Alright, so there's no skin, and therefore no red. Straight up lying here. Tastes fine though. 3/10 4. The Big Dipper Melt $13.99 "tender pot roast with melted Swiss cheese, caramelized onions and mayo on grilled Texas toast, served with French onion au jus for dipping and wavy-cut fries": HOLY MUTHA!!!!!!!!! NOOOOOOooooooOOO! Even THIS! The pot roast again is EASILY the juiciest and most tender I've had in 5 years. I've had braised beef at $100/person places and they ain't as tender and juicy as this. Seriously. And the cheese, the sauce, the thick dip......... the oooooey gooooeeeyy crap tons of cheeeeese. And buttery thick white toast. GAWD. 10/10 4a. Sweet Petit Corn: Not canned, but I think canned might have tasted better. 3/10 So, I couldn't find our waitress and Dane was starting to get more creative with his painting so I was panicking..... I grabbed a different waitress and asked for the check and box. 10min goes by and I can see their furniture and foundation will be water damaged soon..... I grab her again and say I NEED the check. .... 5min goes by, NOTHING. I finally find our main waitress and got the F out. So Denny's now you know who I am. Brought my soup which he sloped in the bowl as it was dripping down the side.
