We've had dinner take out here before, but this latest time we went, we just ordered dessert take out, so I'll restrict this current review to my take out order of 6 large chocolate chip cookies for $9.95. The cookies are quite big, as you can see. I was actually trying to figure out the number of calories in one of these cookies, because the app says 150 calories, and that most certainly can't be true - not even close. So I weighed a couple of cookies, and they're about 105-110g, which for a typical CCC would be about 550 calories. Maybe you didn't want to know that, but too late, you read this and now you know. But they're very fine cookies. I don't get any mass produced, store-bought vibe from these. At the same time, they're too uniform and similar to each other to get a homemade vibe, but all I know is they go great with milk when warmed up to just-out-of-the-oven levels. Lots of small semi-sweet chocolate chips. Cookie isn't chewy, but is fairly soft when warmed up on the first day or two. As good as they are, we take a few days to eat them, and by Day 4, they do start to stay a bit hard even when warmed. Not the fault of Famous Dave's - we just take longer to eat them. And 6 for $10, that's a great deal. Just a little over $1.50 each, which is wonderful value when you consider that Subway cookie is probably less than half the weight and only a little cheaper. I'll update the review next time we have BBQ here, but it's pretty good too! read more

Some of the food can be a little hard on the stomach if your elderly only the potato salad really, but everything else was almost melt in your mouth, fall off the bone meat with tons of flavor their sauces are also delicious I especially love the iced tea. I have especially high standards for service, so for me the service was just ok or decent, but for my best friend the lady who assisted us was wonderful! Which tells me the service here is excellent by most people's standards if my friend thought so. The ambiance is a little loud but calm, you can still hear each other talk with no problem while eating your food, the booths are also incredibly comfortable and you just sink into them! We went on a weekday around 5pm, it was fairly empty and we were seated quick. My partner wanted "meat" and lots of it. Huge portions and even my partner went home with a to go box. They provide paper towels for cleaning up, but I suggest bringing baby wipes cause it can get messy. We brought my grandson, they provided some crayons and stuff to color on. Been to many Famous Daves but this one is very cozy and comfortable. Quick and not super expensive - a favorite restaurant of mine. In Alameda the new Famous Daves is a bit cold and tall ceilings - I like it - but this one has a very different feel. A bit darker and more intimate somehow. Warmer lights - I don't even remember the types - but very very comfortable. I remember likely booth seating around the perimeter and lots of space - we could talk to one another and not hear neighbors very much. Some odd music choice played - but why not try something different than the normal garbage you listen to? Food here was exactly like at any other restaurant of the same name. We sat near the vault where they keep the secret recipes. Don't ask me how to make this stuff. Server was very very pleasant. She didn't fuss over us but was very attentive. Its a very difficult thing to get right especially when your with a larger group like I was in. If I could I would throw a Michelin star your way. My boyfriend and I ordered this over grubhub by the way. * Texas beef brisket platter: I got this and was super excited because it looked delicious (I posted a pic) and I was ready to grub. The two side options I got were potato salad and corn bread. Potato salad was good but tasted a little bit sour than I would like. Corn bread was yummy! Sweet and moist enough. Now the star of the plate... was supposed to be the brisket. However, I couldn't even finish it because it was so salty! There is a piece of bread under the brisket and eating it with that helped to cut the saltiness but I could only have a slice because I could just not enjoy it. So salty and a bit on the dry side which my boyfriend also agreed on. Was very disappointed and also very hungry. *Texas Tri tip steak platter: My boyfriend ate this and his two sides were mash potatoes and corn. IMPORTANT NOTE: it seems that it already comes with a piece of corn bread so keep that in mind. If I had known this I would've ordered a different side for my platter. He enjoyed this platter and said his tri tips were good and not too salty. So I'm wondering why my brisket was too salty.
