a plate of food left on the table

I think this picture speaks for itself. What was devoured- delicious French toast slam, stack of perfectly cooked pancakes, eggs cooked to perfection, turkey bacon. My bf ordered a brisket sandwich which he gave a 10/10. Before we feasted, we were greeted by a nice young man.

walking into dennys, I immediately noticed how organized and clean everything was. this place was pretty from inside and out which i appreciate. The food was also pretty good and my server was attentive throughout my visit. I really recommend this place!!

tried the new waffle this morning here and it was amazing. It was crispy on the outside and warm and soft on the inside. The fruit on top was fresh and added just the right amount of sweetness. I am already looking forward to going back and enjoying it again soon.

Door locked couldn't speak with with anyone at the time.

Horrible!!! Made a mobile order and when I went to pick up my order that said it would be ready in 20 min, the restaurant was closed for renovations! A manager left me a voicemail the next day apologizing saying they are going to refund my money. (I still have the voicemail) They never did. This was 2 months ago!! I've been in there 4 times since and spoke to a supervisor twice and employees twice. Each time I left my information and they even took pictures of my mobile order from my phone. Nothing has happened. It's ridiculous! I hope something finally happens about this!!

3.5 stars Your standard breakfast joint that opens 24/7! They serve a variety of food from your typical breakfast, holiday or seasonal menu, some appetizers, soups and salads, full on lunch menu, a 55 and over menu, drinks and desserts. The portion size is pretty big and the meals are filling. Saturday mornings are busy at the Denny's in Santa Paula but I still felt like we were seated and our food came in a timely manner and exactly as we ordered! No mess up from the kitchen even when they were so overwhelmed. The salted caramel banana pancakes: 5 stars! If you like sweet pancakes this is the one for you! Sooo good! Will have it again for sure Moon over my Hammy with upgraded seasoned fries for an extra 1$: 5 stars. Fries were crunchy and spot on. Very well seasoned. The ham, egg, and cheese sandwich was good but bread could have been a tad more toasted. Honey jalapeño bacon with the hash and scrambled eggs: 3 stars. Upgraded these bacon for a dollar. Bacon needed to be more crunchy. Would not order it again. Egg and hash were your average entree as you would expect. Could have done without it. Parking is convenient in its own public parking lot. Wait time was like 10-15 mins to be seated.

    Grand slam breakfast was yummy

Well, you got a remember you're not eating at the Ritz Carlton when you are at Denny's. But, this DENNY's in Santa Paula is in a great location, is very clean, and welcoming. It is really nice to have Denny's and Santa Paula. MY BREAKFAST WAS YUMMY!!! This morning, I had my free grand slam birthday breakfast. It was great. The service was friendly and prompt. I've been here many times but it's always nice giving a free breakfast :-)

There is something about this place that immediately lifts your mood the moment you walk inside. The atmosphere feels warm lively and full of personality in a way that teenagers naturally connect with. It has that comfortable playful energy where you can sit down talk with someone enjoy your food and feel like you are part of a fun little world without any pressure at all. I did not expect it to feel that youthful and inviting but it absolutely did. One thing that stood out to me more than anything else was the garlic bread. Busy Bee Cafe is the only location I know that has garlic bread with a taste I genuinely love. I do not even know if they sell that exact garlic bread online and honestly that mystery makes it feel even more special. The flavor is warm buttery and rich in a way that hits you instantly. It is the kind of garlic bread that teenagers would enjoy a lot especially if they are hanging out with friends and looking for something comforting and delicious to share. It is rare to find something so simple that leaves such a strong impression. While I was there I noticed a lot of teenagers enjoying the space and it made perfect sense. The cafe has a classic retro charm that feels both nostalgic and fresh at the same time. It is the kind of place where teenagers can take pictures enjoy the decor and feel completely at ease. The environment supports creativity and fun without trying too hard. I appreciated that same feeling myself. It reminded me of how easy it can be to enjoy a place when the atmosphere naturally encourages you to relax and be present. I have only visited Busy Bee Cafe once in my life before writing this review but that one visit was more than enough to make it memorable. It is rare to find a place that feels relaxed and exciting at the same time but this cafe manages to do that effortlessly. The garlic bread alone makes me want to return but the overall experience is what stays with you. It is playful welcoming and full of life in a way that makes you feel mentally sharp youthful and connected to the moment. I would highly recommend that teenagers go to Busy Bee Cafe in Ventura. It gives them a place to enjoy great food take pictures hang out with friends and feel creative and energized. It is one of the most enjoyable and unexpectedly fun spots I have been to in a long time and I am glad I got to experience it the way I did.

It wasn't much fun working there as a kid, but I've always liked their "authentic" diner food all the many times I've gone back--I don't think it's changed its basic meals since it was Warren's! Good old food, with expected adequate service, a standard for over 55 years (that I at least) have been going in there. I can't help it, I just like old-time, anachronistic places like Busy Bee.

Ironically, this song, by Lesley Gore, released in 1963, was playing as I was seated at a booth during the last few days of operation of this historic restaurant. Since the announcement that The Original Saugus Cafe, established in 1886 (!) is closing on January 4, 2026, it's been inundated with loyal clientele and history buff / foodies like me. Recently, in 2022, it received an honor as the oldest operating restaurant in L.A. County. How can you resist a place that has served the likes of Frank Sinatra, Charlie Chaplin, Marlene Dietrich, John Wayne, William S. Hart, Mary Pickford, Clark Gable & two U.S. Presidents? It's very old school diner inside, with a couple of small dining areas on either side of a long bar with many single seats. The day I visited, right before New Year's Day, it was crowded, with every seat taken. I waited for a booth in the first room by the front door. I ordered country fried steak and they were so busy that it took an hour to receive it. It was quite delicious and the fluffy pancakes, scrambled eggs and home fries were tasty too. Had I lived closer by, I would've become a regular too. Most of the souvenirs were sold out, especially coffee mugs and tshirts other than size small. So sad to see a piece of real L.A. County magic go...I can still imagine the actors / actresses out here filming Westerns and stopping by here for dinner at the end of a long day of movie making. Rest in Peace.

Some of our longtime favorites there were the chili, chili spaghetti, French dip, and chicken fried steak, which is why this visit was especially disappointing. The chili spaghetti recipe has clearly changed. The flavor now feels very bland and lifeless compared to before. I also ordered the French dip and the meat was dry and tough. Overall, the food quality just doesn't seem to match what this café was previously known for. It also feels like the restaurant is moving away from its original café identity and shifting toward more of a Hispanic/Latin-style menu. Nothing wrong with that direction if done well, but longtime customers like us who enjoyed the original menu and flavors we're very much you kidding me running too fast disappointed by the changes. Based on our experience with two dishes that used to be favorites of ours, we honestly have no desire to come back and try the other items we once enjoyed, including the chicken fried steak. The experience left us expecting that many of the other recipes have likely changed as well, and that the same flavor and quality we used to love is no longer there. Lastly, prices have increased and the environment felt very dead which adds to the disappointment.

I ordered a traditional turkey club sandwich, but swapped the usual fries for breakfast home fries, which they did without any extra charge. Despite the crowd, my food was ready in under 10 minutes, and I was given quite a generous plate. The sandwich itself was built with high quality turkey, crispy bacon and very fresh veggies. It all worked together exactly as intended, and was a very satisfying traditional bite. The home fries had a goodly amount of peppers and onions, but could have used a dash more seasoning. I added some salt and a few dabs of ketchup, and the starchy side lit up as it needed to, and was a nice change of pace from French fries. Service was jovial and attentive, and one really can't complain about this stalwart coffee shop doing such a good job of making comfort diner food so well.

Their lot is tiny. The service was alright. I wish they fill up my water but I couldn't find the staff. When the staff came to check on us, we basically already finished eating. The Texas Burger 5/5 was juicy and cheesy. The cheese melt properly and soaked up the meat and the butter-toasted buns. The vegetables were crunchy and crispy. Liver and onion 2/5 was just so so. The liver was cooked right but could be more creamy and buttery. The caramelized onions, as you can see, were still pale and could be cooked for longer. There are a few sides with it plus garlic bread. Onion rings 5/5 were crispy on the outside and soft and tender inside. They were cooked just right and the seasoning allows some buttery and extra crisp. 2x2x2x2 5/5 was plenty of food for two people. I would get this if I was indecisive. You can't cook these things wrong anyway because they're simple to make. Overall, it was interesting to check out the place but this isn't my favorite.
