Tonight was a total embarrassment, yet again, on the late night of 12-13 October 2016. I go with a friend, who is a server, to Denny's. Upon arrival, we get approached by a server some ten minutes in. There were no more than 3 tables at the moment. There, she gets my friend coffee, and I decided to get nothing to drink. A few minutes later, my friend requests "Can we get a minute?" No one returned for 45 minutes. One party of 4 was seated, had ordered, and was served food before any server returned to take our order that was supposed to be completed "in a minute." Some 15 minutes later, the order came out. In the meantime, no refill for my friend's coffee. Both of our orders were screwed up. (Note, my bill was $4.36, and with seedy types like that rotund 50-something waitress, one can't count on their credit card not being stolen.) That rotund 50-something then got upset with us over their screw up. I try to be fair, but one couldn't have screwed up my order. I ordered a "Biscuit and Gravy Breakfast" with sunny-side up eggs. How she took that and turned the order into 2 eggs, pancakes, hashbrowns, and something else is beyond me. One can't screw up something so simple. That's fine, except she directly blamed us for her own screwup. In the meantime, my friend, again, was never given a refill. Finally, the orders came forth, only 15 minutes later, yet again. Upon cashing out, that same nimrod had linked our bill together, without having cared to ask whether we wanted to pay separately or not. It took her another 5 minutes to pay this. We arrived at around 12:45 AM and weren't able to leave until approaching 3 AM. Our plan was to stay no longer than 1:30 AM. My friend remarked "With workers like that, it makes me want to vote for Trump," who she despises. I had to walk her to the parking garage, since the time was 3 AM by this point. I had to return to the restaurant to get a Lyft, to which that same rotund turd remarked "You have already been served. If you do not leave, I will call the cops." Why would she say that? Because she received no tip from either of us. Why? 45 minute wait time to get an order taken only after an initial attempt was made, never any refills for my friend, screwing up the order and then blaming us for a simple $2/4/6/8 menu, not caring to ask whether the check would be together or separate, and zero effort all around. To note, I normally tip 20% in general, and around 40% for Denny's. Here's the deal to that sorry sack of garbage for a waitress. You are in your 50s, and yet you still can't even do a job that one with an average intelligence and half your age could do with half the effort and quadruple the outlet. You are quintessentially worthless. Had you called the cops on me, I would have told the two officers the same that I told you there. But see, I have class and didn't care to embarrass you there for the abortion that is you and your lack of pride in your job. Even in a basic job like Ralphs, you would have been fired on the spot for such negligence. Even McDonald's wouldn't have tolerated such complacency. That goofball walked by no less than a half a dozen times without noticing or having the basic intellect to think "Hmm, have you been served? Are you OK?" There are good workers there, and she's not one of them. To note, she also didn't have a name tag and refused to state her name after the fact. Denny's will be great again once she's fired! Ordered postmates 30 salad with salmon no salad dressing n mgr said so what is he to do about that, he has no delivery srvc i should put some lemon on it n not waste food. i told him i have no lemons hesaid i will give u money back tom but bring me my salad. WTF. i ordered del not to go out of house idiot! i asked his mgr name he says oh some iranian i cant even pronoune it i said spell it, he said S-A-K-I. Then when i asked for corporate number he got serious, i used to work for dennys n we never got away with this nonsense. then he said postmates owes you ur money, why would postmates owe me money. he said i dont know im new.. This store doesn't even deserve this one star. We came in to enjoy a breakfast and we have never been so uncomfortable. We got sugar thrown at us, got called a slut, fruity and a whore. The management here lets bums sit at tables as long as they dont disturb anyone (which is fine). But the fact that this guy was clearly unbalanced and was still allowed to stay in the building is beyond me. After we got sugar thrown at us I went up and ask for a manager (who wasnt scheduled for another 30mins) the waiter said it's a known issue and will look into it. He did nothing but brought us our bill. Clearly there is some miss communication with the staff here on who is a priority and paying customers. Dont bring your kids this isn't a kid environment. read more

After an eventful evening, my friend and I went to this Denny's during the middle of the night just needing a little pick me up. We were so grateful for the amazing service we received. Our server David was incredibly helpful and attentive, he continued to check in and make sure that we were doing alright and genuinely wanted to ensure that we enjoyed our food. Although it was so late at night, David worked hard to make sure we had a great experience. I think he deserves a raise and a promotion for how great his customer service was. He was also kind, funny, and made great conversation. As far as the food, everything came out so quickly and was absolutely delicious. For a 3am Denny's trip, this completely exceeded my expectations. read more

I think everyone and their mom has been to Denny's before. Your standard breakfast diner with good food and low prices. I happen to visit this one semi-frequently because one of my best friends lives in an apartment building nearby. Since she is a UCLA student she loves coming here on the mornings after we go out to get her extra 20% off which makes this place probably the cheapest restaurant in LA. Although I am not a UCLA student it is still very budget friendly. I usually build my grandslam or get french toast. Either way you get a lot of food for cheap but nothing beats building your own grand slam. Nothing cures a hangover quite like some good coffee, pancakes, eggs and hash browns. read more

I visited a strange Denny's restaurant today, but the staff were unwelcoming to customers. My wife and I ordered an omelet and a lasagna, but it took 40 minutes for our food to arrive. By the time it did, my Dr. Pepper had gone flat. The quality of the food was unacceptable; the hash browns were overcooked, and the lasagna was a small portion that lacked flavor. When I complained about the long wait, the waiter suggested I cancel the order, which struck me as very unprofessional. Overall, the staff had a poor attitude, and the waiter was quite rude. This Denny's offers no security. On Wednesday morning around 2 or 3 a group of 7 black people 6 female and one male came ordered food, and later started to terrorize the place, becoming aggresive, insulting, throwing things, and threating other patrons. They tried to attack 2 girls and other people, including one guy who was left with a black eye, and a disabled older woman. They left as soon as one of patrons called the police, and the police came late when they left. This place is not safe and appartently Westwood is no longer safe. I came here about three days ago.. had the worst experience ever... now, I have dennys the benefit of the doubt I had a good experience at another one and figured I would give this particular dennys a chance since they were really close to my home.. We went after fireworks on July 4th OMG busy place but for me understaff we wait 15 min for a refill and one plate was missing for my friend that he took to go because all of us we were done. I gave 5 starts because the manager on duty was aware about the situation and he help us with our orders of course it's not easy handle a 12 ppl table.
