The cashier was kind and gave me time to look over the menu. I went with the Choose Two deal for $6.99 and ordered the 1/2 Uptown Turkey sandwich and the chicken carbonara pasta. The sandwich was good and the pasta was just okay. The deal also came with a small bag of chips. I decided to dine in since there were so many tables available. What I like about this location is how open it feels and the variety of seating available. The outlet availability is also great for the students to come in and study. Service overall was fine, the one who took our order wasn't very friendly and just doing her job. In regards to the food, we got the side Caesar salad and the DC chicken salad sandwich and the hot Italian panini. The DC chicken salad was pretty good, a nice lunch since it's not super filling, but it is very fresh and tasty. The hot Italian was not what I was expecting, I hopped for more Italian meats but had more ham than anything, but the bread was crispy and the peppers were a nice touch to the texture and flavor of sandwich. It says on the door that they open at 6am, yet while standing there up to 6:15am, no one took the time to open the door nor had the courtesy to come by an explain. While their location may not be convenient, like most smaller businesses in Westwood Village, their breakfast burritos are great with quality ingredients. With minimal layers of the tomato basil tortilla, it's jam packed with eggs. I had the bacon. Great kick to the fresh salsa. I'm a big fan of Corner Bakery and I had a pretty solid experience with this location. I ordered a side mac and cheese and a whole chicken pesto sandwich, both of which were delicious. My complaints on the order was that I got a choc chip cookie instead of a sugar cookie and my sandwich could've had some more toppings. The service was quick and the store front was clean. Today I saw a big RAT in that restaurant's kitchen with my own eyes, and it's still haunting me. OMG! The restaurant was empty, nobody saw what I saw. I thought it would be small but it was enough for me. But I also ordered the Italian panini so I had to eat that too. The panini was okay. It had some spice to it but not much flavor. Visited this location for the first time Monday morning (MLK DAY). It wasn't crowded but had a comfortable amount of people sitting and chatting. Some were doing work on their lap tops. While orderIng, I inquired about the app but none of the employees could answer my questions and the manager was on his break eating at a corner table so he was apparently unavailable! I ordered a breakfast panini sandwich and upon receiving it, I was utterly disappointed. It had one bacon, a little cheese and a little bit of overcooked scrambled egg. I regret not sending it back. I then saw another sandwich and had to take a picture of it as it had multiple strips of bacon, lots of cheese and the eggs were light and fluffy. I couldn't believe it. It was a perfect balance of coffee, chocolate, and a hint of strawberry. The Anaheim Scramble was filling a very well balanced meal. I ordered it with fruit. The atmosphere is very inviting and relaxing. Both times tables were busy, but line was short. They are quick to serve. I felt like I stepped back in time. Friendly service and clean. My bread was simply bread, there were grill marks on the corner of one, but not toasted at all. No butter nor jelly was anywhere in the bag. No napkins either. I asked for salsa, that too wasn't in the bag. Thank goodness there was a fork. I felt like the order was just thrown together. I most definitely won't be ordering from here again. Food was decent, but couple of huge strikes against them: 1) Ordering online is hit or miss. Sometimes your order ends up being wrong. 2) I can't find a place to use gift cards online -- you can only use them in person. 3) Their systems have been "temporarily down" for over a month, meaning you can only pay in cash in person. If you want to pay with card, you have to order online...see #1 for why that's bad. And if you have a gift card and want to pay using that, well, you're out of luck.
