Very cute corner cafe in the heart of Westwood. It's cozy whether dining in or outside. Today we chose to dine outside. The service was good and they weren't overcrowded at the time of our visit. I checked out the reviews before coming and the carne asada & eggs seemed like a big hit here, so I tried it. Very good choice - very flavorful steak and didn't need any extra sauces added. I'm a big fan of hash browns & they have hash brown patties here. Loved that they weren't supper greasy with the perfect amount of crisp! I'm not always in this area but would definitely like to come back! read more

This place is super understaffed for how packed it was at 11am. The hostess was clearly overwhelmed and not on the mood to be here. Took about 15 min before I was able to submit an order. I ordered the eggs Benedict with salmon and was not impressed. The plating was messy and the entree was cold. My side of potato's were the best part and too hot to eat. Perhaps I'm just used to a more flavorful hollandaise sauce. This lacked every thing to do with flavor. If you want a bland non eventful dish. This is it. I understand that making this dish isn't the easiest. I have friends that are chefs. I also know it takes a lot of practice to make a proper hollandaise. I highly suggest the chef working today try using seasoning. I didn't even eat it. I'm not into wasting food, which is why I did not send it back. I would really appreciate if they would improve on what they call eggs Benedict Sincerely, A big back baddie Ps. Had a late lunch after shopping in Westwood, was able to sit outside in the pretty covered dining area. The waiter was really nice. The tuna melt was delicious with crunchy bits of celery, onions and peppers on sourdough bread. It was one of the best tuna melts I've had in LA. Skinny French Fries are a always a treat. It is great that they offer a choice of breads. For sure, one of the best places to have a sandwich in Westwood. read more

I met up with a friend here before heading to a UCLA soccer game to grab breakfast. It's a small cafe with both indoor and outdoor seating. Both the service and food were good. I ordered the Breakfast Egg Sandwich with bacon and cheese on an English muffin (you can choose your bread), along with a side of roasted potatoes. The potatoes were good with the seasoning! This place has a cute outside eating area. The service was okay. Ordered the chicken Alfredo and it was really filling and good! Lotsss of chicken was given, just how I like it! Came with pieces of bread, I thought presentation was neat. Overall, I enjoyed the pasta 9/10. Took it home to finish later. Great breakfast location near to UCLA right in Westwood village. Wide variety of breakfast and lunch options, including a side of chicken breast that most cafes never offer. We ordered the french toast, chicken breast, 2 eggs, and waffle special. Lived the french toast, flavorful and soft with berries. Chicken is great to pair as a protein and is a generous portion for $6! Everything tasted great, only downside is the below average service when it is busy. Servers definitely look too busy to be personable and show extra care. We've definitely visited several other breakfast spots in the area with much more caring and passionate staff. Other than the service during peak hours, nice food! read more

How have I walked by Lazy Daisy so often yet never tried it? Had to, so I stopped by with a friend and had their Breakfast Quesadilla. I have to admit it's a pretty cute place. Service was quiet quick in and out, and our food was had within a good time (10-15 minutes). The food itself wasn't too remarkable, with their roasted potatoes quite salty - chef's heavy hands? The quesadilla itself was enjoyable on the inside, though it was also on the saltier end. Jack cheese itself already comes a bit salty, so no additional salt would be needed. The mushrooms were a nice addition - hard to mess this up, but the chicken was definitely dry. Outside of this place being on the cuter end, featuring the option to sit indoors and outdoors, I have to admit the food was very underwhelming. Perhaps the move really was to leave Lazy Daisy unexplored. read more

I visited Lazy Daisy in Westwood for the first time and ordered a breakfast quesadilla with roasted potatoes. It had scrambled eggs, jack cheese, mushrooms, avocado, and pico de gallo. I didn't have any problems with the meal, which tasted quite good. My friend had ordered a glass of orange juice. It turned out to be a small glass that cost $7, so I wouldn't recommend purchasing their orange juice. In addition, they add a credit card fee, so using cash or a debit card evades that. The table we sat at was a little small, but the restaurant had a nice ambience overall. There weren't many people when we arrived a little before 9 am. read more

Westwood staple! Somehow I managed to not go here for three whole years as a UCLA student but met up with some locals who wanted to go. We came here on a gorgeous day, and I really liked the vibe out on the patio. Despite being on a main road, the greenery really isolates the sun deck and creates a nice ambiance. I ordered an iced chai latte which was actually super good--better than average! I also got a kid's grilled cheese and fries which were also tasty and the perfect size for me. I had an errand to run in West LA and got a bit hungry so looked up on yelp and found this place nearby and with good reviews. And the menu seemed diverse with loads of options. Walked up and there's a sign that says to wait to be seated. No problem as they were prompt to seat me. Options are inside or outside. It was a bit chilly so opted inside. The entire group of staff were very friendly and attentive A+ for service. Food presentation was good. I ordered the asada and eggs. The asada has rosemary on it which was unexpected but I like rosemary so the taste was welcomed. Unfortunately though there was no other flavors to the asada and it was over cooked. I'd prolly give it another try but I'd specifically ask if they can cook it less. I did like the jalapeño served with the dish. Over all people were great. Meal was underwhelming. read more

One of the better brunch spots I've had since being in LA. I don't usually go out to brunch so when I first came to Lazy Daisy I was a bit skeptical about the experience, but I was definitely wrong! We got the chipotle chicken wrap and the waffle and eggs breakfast and both were incredible options! The waffle was freshly made and the eggs/bacon were cooked very well. The chicken wrap was the star of the table though. Fresh vegetables, good quality chicken, flavorful ranch, what more would you want from the wrap! A couple things to note, the location is quite small so there are typically wait times. Maybe it was the day we went as it was Labor Day weekend but keep that in mind. I'll definitely be making the trip back to try more off the menu and to have another great brunch experience again! read more

This place seriously has some killer chilaquiles. Their tuna melt and fries are also great. I'm craving the chilaquiles right now -- they always fry the egg perfectly and it is super flavorful and a great portion. Service is efficient, food comes out hot and fast. My only qualms with this place are that I personally hate the seating. It's not very immersive and *always* being outside on the sidewalk with all the noise, smells, and intensity of the city just gets a bit distracting. Additionally, the prices are pretty steep, however, it's a nice treat every once in a while read more

We didn't get our for for over 35 mins. My poached eggs were burnt??!! Hash browns were literally from the frozen aisle at Smart and Final!! To make it worse- I have $100 cash for our bill for $72.13. My change was $27.00 even. I was suppose to get $27.87 change back. The waiter pocketed 0.87 cents. That is dishonest. read more

Vegan review: If you're looking for an aesthetic place for brunch this is cute whether you're inside or outside. The tables are colorful and there's abundant greenery. I ordered the egg-less tofu scramble, which was very underwhelming. The tofu was bland and tasteless. Based on the name I expected the flavor to resemble eggs, but neither the tofu or veggies even taste salted. In fact the tofu was not even scrambled - it was cubed. I make a much better tofu scramble at home. The potatoes were fine and the toast was toast. It came with jelly and packaged butter. It would've been nice if it came with a non-dairy spread instead but I didn't even think to ask. The service was good and attentive. There's one single stall bathroom. It's clean and a comfortable size. I enjoyed the ambiance but I would only return if a meateater friend wanted to come, since I know there's at least a few vegan options. I wouldn't expect anything mind blowing here if you're a vegan unfortunately. read more

This place is between a 3 and 4 star for me. The items are pretty cheap but the food isn't amazing. So the value is there but it's just pretty average food. Sandwich was pretty good size and they let me order fries since I don't like soggy potatoes. Would go again for cheaper breakfast and no wait. The location is very nice and in a prime spot. When I arrived at the door, the waiter didn't immediately acknowledge me as he was doing something on the register. There was a sign that says please wait to be seated so I would have expected someone to just acknowledge my presence since I was told to Just sit wherever I wanted. The food was just OK as the plates were very big however, there was really no seasoning on any of the food. So the reason I said maybe is because this restaurant kept popping up on my yelp search while I was visiting Santa Monica and looking for a good breakfast place. Love coming to this place as it's right near my school. The prices and the food are always the best. The employees are so nice and helpful, they didn't even mind my friend and I's playful fight over the bill and helped us to decide who would officially pay. The cafe has a good amount of seating for not being the biggest but it never feels like you're cramped up together in one area which I love. I can admit that I have had better French toast and omelettes but I think that the quality isn't bad and the vibes and atmosphere definitely make up for what it's lacking. We had made an early trip to Westwood from Bakersfield. We got our errands run and were getting hungry. I checked the Yelp app for something breakfast nearby and hit the jackpot with the Lazy Daisy. They had outdoor seating that was pleasant and comfortable. The servers were quick, efficient, and friendly. Hernan took our order, but like many places, the other servers were right there to refill coffee or bus dishes. It was a busy time of the morning, but you seem to mind less when you're enjoying your coffee outside. Even though we were sitting on a busy street corner, the plants and shrubs dampened the noise. I ordered the Daisy Omelette, which is a chicken, avocado, and jack cheese affair. They did it to perfection. The bowl of fruit and toast were a nice added touch. What a cute little brunch spot. I have walked past it over a dozen times in Westwood, and finally got a group of family together to sit down and eat. Went here for a brunch with a friend :) we were seated quickly. The atmosphere was nice and the service was good! Even though my partner and I had a reservation that we showed up on time for, we waited 30 minutes to be seated. That wait time is pretty outrageous considering we reserved a table for 30 minutes earlier. Once seated, we noticed that the staff were extremely slow and inattentive. It took a while for us to get some water and even longer to get our food. The pacing between dishes was ludicrous. The food here is the saving grace for the disappointing service. We started off with the naan & dips. The dips were tahini tofu and carrot hummus. I liked the tahini tofu dip much more than the carrot hummus. It was creamy, nutty, and savory. The naan was fresh and nicely charred. Next we had the goat liver mousse. This included crumpets, biscuit crackers, craisin relish, seasonal jam, and of course, goat liver mousse. The crackers were too dry for me, but I really enjoyed the warm crumpets. All of the spreads were equally good. The goat live mousse itself was smooth and light. For the main courses, we shared the grilled kalbi-style short ribs and pork belly noodles. The short ribs were covered in a sweet-savory sauce and had a deep caramelization, while the meat was tender and juicy. As for the pork belly noodles, the overall flavor was too salty, but the glass noodles had a nice texture. Throughout our entire meal, there was a fly that kept trying to fly onto our food. It was very annoying to deal with. I was surprised that it was even an issue, considering we had indoor seating. I would have understood if only we were seated outside. Ultimately, I did not leave with a great impression of this restaurant. On top of that, there isn't any designated parking lot, so you'll be lucky if you can even find street parking. If not, you'll need to use one of the paid lots nearby. Also, beware that this restaurant adds a surcharge to all checks regardless of party size.

This location could really use an update and perhaps a deep cleaning. I was, in fact, kind of surprised at the condition of this business, for example, on the way towards their restrooms. From my opinion, it needs an clean up and an update. Also, the litter that surrounded some of the outdoor tables where I was sitting at my most recent visit was very surprising. This is just something to keep in mind if you're coming here for your first visit. In terms of what they offer for food, though it has evolved a bit over the years, they still have a great, heath-based menu, with some very interesting choices. For all of you vegetarians and vegans out there, you will, for sure, be able to find some tasty food to eat. Once upon a time, this restaurant was impacted with tons and tons of people. It was constantly full with people either going to the bakery and/or sitting down for table service. Shortly past their opening each day, there would be a line of people waiting for service. This seems to have changed, however.
