First of all , I've never eaten inside the restaurant. All I've ever ordered has been for take out and has been pizza only. I have not been disappointed in anything I've ordered. The service from the employees has been great. A very friendly staff. As for the pizza, I can't complain. Chicago thin-crust with your choice of toppings. They do have specialty pies that are usually a bit more expensive but a lot cheaper than other pizza joints. My only knock is that I'm from NJ and pizzas are cut in slices. At Deno's, since their a Chicago based pizza place, their slices are cut into geometrical shapes. I can live with that. I'd prefer slices but shapes are ok. The pizza is delicious no matter how you cut it. Thin crust and loaded with whatever toppings tickle your fancy. The cheese is think and covers your toppings. Again, great tasting pizza. Deno's has become the family's favorite pizza!! I love the gluten friendly crust. (The kitchen isn't dedicated Gluten free, but many are able to eat it and I've not had any issues. Depending on your sensitivity, make your call in regards to eating it) I think the gf flour is rice or potato based and it's crusty base will honestly make you want to double check that you got the right pizza. Try the Deno's special, the perfect blend of meats and veggies piled up on top! Tip- The crust holds well with all the toppings and leftovers and heat well in an air fryer! My only wish would be a gluten free pick stick stuck in the pizza or a sticker on the box notating the pizza. Though we've been in Surprise almost 3 years now, this was our first Deno's pizza, inspired by the recs of several friends. We got the Meat Lovers' Pizza, and it was wonderful, jam packed with wonderful cheese and a variety of meats. It was the heaviest 12" pizza I have ever seen. My wife and I, good eaters both, could only eat about half of it. Of course, we also had a delicious order of wings, with spicy chile sauce to work on. A bit on the expensive side, but so much pizza for the dollar. Well worth it. This is definitely our new go-to pizza place in Surprise. read more

Reviews are always subjective, and when it comes to pizza, people tend to get downright territorial. So after hearing how great this place is for some time, we finally got the chance to try it. Everyone there was nice and helpful (even the patrons). We ordered a large sausage pizza. Just cheese, sausage, and sauce for takeout. When we got home, the pizza was still hot, and the crust was still crispy. Definitely a plus with takeout pizza. One thing I also noticed is that they dont skimp on toppings. You may pay a little more for pizza there, but they do load it up. The pizza was fantastic. Our whole family enjoyed it. The large sausage chunks were a huge hit, and the flavors were all there. This pizza hit, and is currently in our top 2 best pizza places in Surprise. You now have new regulars. Never change. Only suggestion to take this to an 11 is to have homemade ranch dressing, AKA "the good ranch". read more

A friend of mine picked up two pizzas to go for us. In the end, the best thing about the pizza is that I didn't have to pay for it. The worst of its bad qualities is a super thin crust, which is like that of a saltine cracker. And the use of canned mushrooms in their vegetarian pizza is unforgivable for any pizza establishment. This pizza is equal to that of a frozen one purchased at any grocery store. A pizza from the Costco Food Court will provide you a better quality pie for your dollar. Ray's Pizza is literally down the street a couple of blocks and will not disappoint if you're looking for a good pizza within the vicinity of Deno's. read more

Here is a fun fact, I used to work in this shop when I was a kid. This was my first job. 18 years later, they still have awesome pizza. We ordered the jumbo veggie pizza. This was a gamble bc thin crust gets soggy so consider the ingredients piled high and then the drive home (15 minutes) in the heat. When we dug in we were pleasantly surprised, thin and crunchy and so damn good. Unfortunately I removed a star bc I would have preferred fresh not jarred:canned veggies but it was still very good. Kudos to well draining the ingredients before adding them to the pizza. read more

I only indulge in pizza a few times a year. Deno's is really the BEST! Sausage, pepperoni and mushrooms toppings are to die for. I've been coming here for my once / quarter pizza for many years. It's always excellent. Consistently excellent. Thin crust style but with thick toppings. Restaurant is small and always very clean. Employees have always been efficient, helpful and polite but sometimes no smiles. Ample close-in parking. No alcohol served, but Deno's told me that BYOB is fine, but check before you do that. They told me that years ago and I always order "Pickup To Go". Highly recommended . read more

On Jan 9, 2025 my husband ordered a pizza at 4:55 and was told it would be 50 minutes. I walked in at 5;40 and didn't leave with my pizza until 6:35. Since when does is take an hour and 40 minutes to get a pizza?! I witnessed a lady who said it was already 70 minutes for hers, and a man who was told they messed up his order and would he like to wait for a correct one to be made. He said no, and took the mistake one, and he wasn't happy about it. Numerous times I heard them tell people their pizza was in the oven, they told me this too. I heard her tell a customer that it only takes 15-20 minutes to bake. I asked to speak to the manager and was told he was too busy making pizza's. Then 20 minutes later I asked for my credit card to be refunded because I was going to just leave without the pizza. They refused, said they couldn't do it. They rely on a sign behind them that says "Quoted times are only an estimate" . In no uncertain terms I let them know how I felt. When my pizza came out, a man called my name, didn't identify himself as the manager and stuck with their well used line about their estimated times. Said if I feel that way, 'We don't want you back". I caught them in several lies. If my pizza was in the oven 40 minutes earlier as I was told, then it would've been burnt black. I will never go to this place again. No professionalism, employees that lie and are rude, a manager with no customer service skills!!! I wish I could contact the owner of this place, they really need to know just how this place is run! read more
