    Asada Tacos
    Vicki S.

My husband and I decided to give it a try. The staff were friendly and there were a lot of people there for a Monday evening. The price was pretty good and the place was clean with a fun vibe. We wanted tacos so gave those a try. Here is my husband's assessment (he is a southern Cali guy so he knows tacos): 1. Birria- flavorful and moist. 2. Asada- good but a little salty. 3. Carnitas- not bad. too greasy and salty. We'd eat here again but not something I must have again. There are other spots with tacos just as good.

Heard lots of great things about this spot, so I finally gave it a try today. The food wasn't quite what I expected based on the reviews--I think I may have set my expectations too high. That said, this place has a lot of potential but could definitely use some improvement in food quality and the menus. The salsa bar should also be kept stocked at all times or checked on more frequently. The place is new, so it's clean and looks fine. Service was quick, good overall. The manager didn't seem very welcoming or friendly.. maybe not clocked in, not sure. I ordered the al pastor and tripa tacos. The al pastor was average. The tripa, however, was bitter and chewy, with a mushy interior, likely due to insufficient cleaning. I also got a mango margarita, it wasn't too sweet, it's decent. I like the green salsa! I might come back to try other items--maybe I just didn't order the right things this time.

To say we love this place is an understatement! They built one and Surprise and we are here at least once or twice a week, ain't even gonna lie. Customer service is on point, atmosphere is always great with games on, people eaten and enjoying one another. I'm so happy they have one here now. The food is always good. Like not just mediocre but really good. Seasoned well. Juicy. We haven't had anything that we don't like. Keep it up!!

Right when we walked in we were greeted with smiles. It was a lot larger inside than I anticipated. They also offer seating outside. I already knew we were ordering birria tacos before we walked in, but added a asada taco plus a horchata and hibiscus drink. Service was so friendly and we had our food brought to our table pretty quick. Everything was amazing! So dang good. The consommé was full of flavor and they definitely don't skimp on meat. The salsa bar was awesome and both the green and red sauces had a good kick. Veggies were fresh as well. We can't wait to come back.

This was the five dollar margarita two days ago is it still five dollars or is that raised too since there's no happy hour anymore?

I was so excited when this location opened. No more driving to Avondale or Litchfield park for amazing tacos. Food is amazing every time, awesome restaurant with a bar and good drinks. They also have catering which we have used more times than I can count for family parties.

So happy to have a location in Surprise. We've been to the Avondale location and were so excited when we learned through Instagram that they opened a location here. Came in today (Saturday), and it was busy!! My kids had tacos the asada, with horchata, I had quesabirria tacos with consomé and my husband had the campechano machete the food was soooo good! Flavorful and authentic! Finally authentic Mexican food in Surprise! Even with the crowd we were served quickly, the food was fresh and flavorful. Will be back soon!

The manager said it was the same family owners. We got there about 4:30 and they were very busy. The food was amazing! Erika was our waitress and she did a fabulous job, she was on top of everything! The bathrooms were clean. The prices were very reasonable $35, 2 meals including 1 alcoholic beverage. We definitely recommend thand will be returning regularly.

Honestly, the experience and flavors were so amazing, I'm not joking when I say this might be my favorite Mexican restaurant in the US to date. My wife had the carne asada and it was an actual thick and juicy steak cut into pieces. Usually you get a flat steak but this one was something else. We went again later in the trip and she ordered this again because it was just too good not to. I ordered different things on the two occasions. I'm writing this about two weeks later so my memory is failing me but I remember just absolutely loving it. On my second visit I had the Pollo Fundito. If I lived near, I'd have to come here all the time. It'll be a recurring destination every time we're in town. The staff are happy, helpful, and delightful.

The drinks felt more like basic bar cocktails than anything special. Prices aren't really any cheaper than other spots, so it didn't feel worth it for the quality. Since this restaurant is just around the corner, we typically come here a couple of times a week. We're there almost every Monday evening and often stop in for a lunch date during the week. Unfortunately, this visit was a complete disaster. We recently got a new puppy and decided to bring him along since the patio is pet-friendly. It was actually our first time sitting in the patio area. I ordered my usual drink: a Cadillac margarita with a side of Grand Marnier. When the waitress brought the drinks, the Grand Marnier "float" was served on the side in a standard shot glass, which normally holds about 1.25 oz - 1.5 oz. However, the glass was filled less than a quarter of the way. Honestly it looked like maybe a tablespoon of liquor, and that's being generous. I asked the waitress about it, and she explained that she was new and currently on her third day of training. She had been instructed that the float should be 1.5 oz. Lol I pointed out that what was in the glass wasn't even close to a half ounce and asked to speak with the manager. The manager came out with a noticeable attitude and insisted that this was what they consider a "float" for their Cadillac margarita. She even suggested that I must have been receiving free alcohol on previous visits. My husband looked at me completely confused and clearly irritated. The manager also mentioned that a shot of Grand Marnier costs $8, as if I was asking for something for free. At that point, I told her to keep the drinks and we got up and left. If less than a tablespoon is considered a float for a Cadillac margarita, then this restaurant is seriously misleading customers. I do want to say that the waitress was very kind and clearly trying her best. This situation was not her fault, and I wish her the best. Unfortunately, the management's lack of customer service completely ruined the experience. I'll never understand how people with terrible attitudes end up in management positions especially when dealing with customers. After leaving, we went up the street to Rio Mirage, where we had dinner and excellent margaritas. That will definitely be our new go-to spot for better food, better drinks, and far better customer service.
