He is so kind, and he really cares about his patients. I've watched his practice grow into what it is today, and it's thriving. For many, going to the dental office can cause anxiety, and most of that can be attributed to a previous experience as an adult or a child. That experience may have been major and minor, but either way, it can scar many folks. I guess I'm the opposite, I look forward to going but I do get it. Going to the dentist is a great thing for me as I want to keep and maintain a beautiful smile and healthy mouth. When my previous dental office shut its doors as part of retirement, I search and visited a lot of dental offices. A good dental office requires more than just a good dentist. They need to have good hygienist and support staff to make the experience feel welcoming. I felt extremely fortunate to find this place through a referral as the entire staff is all about making your experience a good one. The staff is friendly and very well skilled when it comes to handling any dental treatment. Most people are concerned when they visit as they don't do regular checkups so yeah, your gonna feel guilty, but I've never left feeling that way, and more of encouragement to take the next steps for a healthier mouth. I've witness patients come in expressing unease or anxiety and the staff doing their part to have them feel calm and comfortable throughout the experience. The office is clean and the front waiting area has a TV, complimentary water & coffee and fish tank (pretty cool). My primary doctor who I see is Dr. Curry, but I've had the pleasure of seeing and talking with the other doctors when needed. I have to give it up to Dr. Rapacz here. He helped me out a lot with what a situation that I thought could potentially have been terrible. On a Saturday in October I was riding my bike and ended up flipping over the handlebars with my mouth hitting the ground, leaving me with a chipped tooth. Dr. Rapacz was able to get me in 2 days later on Monday morning! When I came in, he was extremely upbeat and friendly. He was very knowledgeable about the situation and definitely eased my concerns. He fixed the chipped tooth with bonding and a filling in less than 30 minutes! And if you look at my smile now, you'd have no idea I had a chipped tooth unless you saw pictures or read this review. The office practices COVID-19 precautions. Their front office staff takes your temperature before taking you back. And when I came back for a my teeth cleaning, they make sure that they screen you and have you fill out a questionnaire. Not only did I have the audacity to miss my first appointment, but I failed at being punctual at the subsequent appointment by twenty minutes. Consequently, I was so embarrassed by the ignominious events that I was expecting perfunctory service in retaliation (and rightfully so). Off the top of my head, I can't recall that lady's name that calls from the office all the time, but I just heart her! She is such a gem. I've been to dental offices that are far more technologically advanced with headphones, satellite TV, computer applications that the staff uses to show and explain what's going on with your teeth. Since I'm an engineer, I love gadgets and tech stuff. In addition, the main reason I did not give this place a four is the fact that I have to ask "what is that instrument used to detect?", "what does that tell us?", "what does that mean?". I absolutely detest going to an office where I'm paying you to do work for me and I leave there not understanding what you did for me. So, every time I"ve been to this office, I ask those questions. Going to the dentist office has always been a source of anguish for me, ever since I was young. Perhaps due to some of the abnormal experiences I had gone through up until now. Not having insurance or being covered by my parents plan. As a result of growing up close to the boarder I often made trips to Mexico for my dentistry work. My friend who works there suggested I'd come in for a cleaning and after a few months of reluctancy I finally decided to make an appointment. In all honestly I was visibly uncomfortable which was largely due to the lapse of time between visits. However, Dental By Design made every effort to make me feel as calm and comfortable as possible. The office itself is very clean, the front line were all amazingly nice, pleasant and helpful. They worked with my budget because at the time I was uninsured and I was able to fit into a payment plan that worked best for me. I'm not sure if bed side manner is a term associated with dentistry but Dr. Curry handled me with care. She spoke me all the through my assessment and made sure I understood her, outlining steps to make moving forward. I can't say I'll look forward to the dentist again, but I will say I look forward to being in a welcoming, knowledgeable, and safe atmosphere again with individuals who do great work. read more

I'm very disappointed that when my dentist moved to this office, he did not inform his existing patients that he was no longer contracted with certain insurance providers he was contracted with earlier in the year. The office will honor the payment provided by my insurance for the appointment I recently had with him, but moving forward, this dentist will bill as an out of network provider. Furthermore, at my last appointment, my dentist created a treatment plan with fees close to $1,500.00 so, I am very lucky that I caught this in time. Medical service standards across most dental offices are, for the most part, the same; the distinction between a good practice and an excellent practice is the attitude of the front office staff, simplicity in coordinating insurance benefits, ease of appointment setting, wait times, and communication. When I first moved to the Phoenix area, I probably tried out about 8 different dentists before finally listening to my co-worker's referral and coming here. Dr. Kode is an awesome dentist. He is highly skilled, and uses up-to-date high tech equipment. Marianne is also the best dental hygienists that I have had. She is thorough, gentle, and very knowledgeable about everything!!! She is also a perfectionist, which I can appreciate-being one myself, and never misses anything. Sheryl, Sandy, and Heather are also fantastic, and always friendly! I don't know the rest of the staff as well, but everyone has always been overly nice. In addition to being extremely competent, this dental office is also very patient-oriented. They have events (like movie nights) for patients, and always have really cool giveaways. They are also involved in community events and charity work. Moreover, they are also very compassionate and considerate of patients who do not have dental insurance. They are very reasonably priced, which is rare for this quality of service. I moved to California for school almost 2 years ago, but I am still driving to Arizona twice a year just to see these guys! They are totally worth it! I tried out a dentist in California who charged me twice as much for a cleaning and did a horrible job. Being in graduate school, I don't have time or money for trial-and-error dentists, and it's good to know that this office is there for me, even though I have to drive about 350 miles to get there. :) Thank you!!! read more

The service was good, but I am disappointed because they didn't finish my treatment, my treatment was invisalign and the last months trays or retainers were the same, they told me all the time that my teeth were perfect but they knew that I needed more time, they wanted to finish my treatment and they did it. Of course there is a change in my teeth but I need more time to complete my treatment. Now I have to find other dentist and PAY AGAIN for finish my treatment. They were rude and tried to take advantage of me. They lied to me and said I had multiple cavities which I don't according to the dentist I go to now.
