I think they are great. Always accommodating with the appointments, friendly staff and gentle. I found their prices to be average in the industry. Some work (extractions) are done in their other office but it's nice too and staff their is super nice. The office and exam rooms are clean. Plenty of parking. Came in here to get a filling, my brother made me the appointment so i wasn't aware it was just an exam, which was fine. But they could of clarified first. Had my exam done and they said it was only a small cavity, said i can go. They didn't go over any options at all, didn't try to offer to schedule and appointment or anything. I told them I still wanted it filled to prevent future issues...They said, "You're insurance does not cover that." Left it at that without offering other options, such as paying out of pocket. So i asked how much it was and they said $110. Which was not bad lol. So i offered to pay it to get it over with. They looked at me like they were almost shocked? Really felt like i was being pre judged due to having only state insurance.. I also asked if they would be able to remove a tonsil stone, she took one short glance at them and said she couldn't see it so there's no point. Well of course you cant see it, you have to look behind and around because tonsils have many pockets and crevices?? Conclusion. Unfortunately for these guys my last 2 dentists have been amazing. Unfortunately I changed jobs and neither is on my plan. Here's my breakdown in the best way I know how. Pros and Cons. Pros: Close to my house in Ahwatukee. I was able to get in for an appointment quickly. Desk staff was nice enough but seemed forced. Dentist and hygienist were pleasant. Cons: Office felt kind of dirty and had zero atmosphere (i know it's not a bar but still you could try). The room I had my check up in had holes in the walls and looked unprofessional. The dentist came in and said I needed 4-5 fillings. I go to the dentist religiously every 6 months and have not needed a filling in at least 15 years. Seemed odd that I needed 4-5 all of a sudden. They charged me an extra $50 for a special teeth cleaning when my last 2 dentist gave me the exact same cleaning as part of the typical cleaning. Told me my gums were swollen in the back and which is why I needed the deeper cleaning. Went to my previous dentist and they said I have no swelling. They did say there was one non-cavity tooth that could use a filling but nothing critical. Overall I really felt they were just looking to charge me and my insurance some extra money. My own fault for letting them. When I brought it to their attention they simply said I don't know what other dentist charge but this is what we charge. Simply put there are definitely much better dentists out there and I would never go back. read more

Friendly yes but I would have appreciated being notified they do not extract wisdom teeth BEFORE my appointment. I was told they had to examine to to know and that some have already had their wisdom teeth pulled. That "miscommunication" could have been solved with a very simple question OR if you disclose that information ahead of time the patient can make an educated choice whether to use this dentist or someone else that DOES work on wisdom teeth. It's redundant to schedule the appt and then immediately refer out to oral surgeon NOT because the tooth is in a dangerous spot but because you don't extract wisdom teeth AT ALL. This doesn't include that the "oral surgeons" they refer you to are two cities away. (Yes I know the referral can be taken anywhere) Seemed to me to be a way to charge my insurance company under my name while offering less then what I could have received at other local dentist. This is why people don't go to dentist as often as they should. They're expensive to begin with and care comes second to cost. Way to take money for a 10min exam. Don't go here if you're paying cash. That 89 dollar coupon is a scam. They told me I needed a "deep cleaning". "How much is it?" I asked. "That'll be shown in your treatment plan." So I go to the front desk, and the poor secretary hands me a treatment plan for a three visit, FOURTEEN HUNDRED DOLLAR cleaning. I laughed at it, and then walked out. If you're uninsured in this state, literally the only place you can get a decent dental cleaning is a dental school. ***UPDATE*** I was visiting friends in California and decided to pop in to my old dentist there. I explained that some nutjob dentist in Arizona (Imagine Dental) wanted $1400 to clean my teeth, as I had gone about a year without a cleaning. Hygienist looked at my teeth, said, "There's just a little excess buildup in the back, nothing I can't handle." Did the work in one cleaning. Cost: $95. Even if you have insurance, expect to come in here for extensive and expensive treatments you might not need. Just went hear today! Both Summer and hygienist were super friendly, helpful, professional. Quick to show you the break down of payments, quick to assess your teeth and gum health. I had gone for a cleaning but will go back for that, I had a need for removing of bacteria around the gums and not only was the operation done swiftly but it was explained very well so I knew what was happening every step of the way. Dr. To was my dentist for a crown replacement. He did a good job. On the first visit, I requested a stronger anesthetic (Septocane, I think is what they used) and it worked well. Two weeks later he put the crown in. No problems. I had read another review that trashed him. All I can say is that my experience was fine. First off, Im a giant coward and have HUGE anxiety when it comes to the dentist. I make this WELL KNOWN when I come to the dentist, and I feel like they should acknowledge this and make the appropriate adjustments for me. Well, I have to have a crown put on.......(que horror screams). As they get ready to numb me up with Novocain, I express to them I'm VERY nervous, please knock me up good. With in seconds they ZING me that almost makes me jump out of the chair. They offer me nitrous for an extra $35.....fine. After a few giant inhales, and a 3rd round of Novocain I can finally drift off while they work. I like the staff and the office, I just wish when a patient expresses their anxiety they could immidiatly take a patients concern and address it right away. Also, its GOT TO BE in my chart somewhere, I've gone over this when I simply get my teeth cleaned. Why are my concerns not validated up front? If my fear and my concerns and my anxiety are delt with right away and you blast me with No2 when I sit down, it eliminates any fear or hesitation to come back, and I have 2 more crowns to go! I hope someone from this office reads this and takes in consideration to what I say. People with anxiety and fear of the dentist should be put at ease so they will be comfortable RIGHT AWAY! I called Imagine Dental to schedule an appointment as a new client for a teeth cleaning. They scheduled me for an appointment at 3pm on the Thursday of the next week. I was called on Tuesday to confirm my appointment and was advised to arrive approximately 15 minutes early to complete new client paperwork. So far so good. I was then called at 4:15 on Wednesday and was left a message stating my appointment would need to be cancelled as it was too late, but they would be open until 5 if I wanted to call back and reschedule. Of course it was after 5 pm when I received the message. I wasn't thrilled with the level of professionalism here, and the only way I planned on using this dentist was if I could still go on the same day, I was willing to go in earlier. I would like to mention that it is very difficult for me to get time off of work and my hours are 7:30-4, and the dental office is open from 7-4. I called back the next morning and requested an appointment for that day, just slightly earlier. They were able to fit me in at 1:30 pm. I get to the office and fill out all my paperwork, go through a significant amount of pictures and x-rays. The dentist spoke quite a bit about cosmetic dentistry, veneers etc and about what work I needed done on my teeth. That all took about an hour. (While I appreciate a thorough examination, I wasn't interested in any significant cosmetic work, I simply came in for a cleaning.) I was then told I could go up to the counter and schedule my teeth cleaning. WHAT! I spoke with the women that were at the desk and expressed that I was very frustrated. First my appointment was cancelled, after they confirmed it, and now I had just spent over an hour in their office and didn't get what I came there for. I was informed at that time that they don't usually do cleanings on the first appointment, it's more of a consultation. That is all well and good, but it would have been nice to have been informed of that when I made the appointment, otherwise I would have went somewhere else. (It had been over a year since my last cleaning). They "understand my frustration, and they try to tell everyone that calls that the cleaning doesn't happen on the first visit" Well apparently I slipped through the cracks. Then I tried scheduling my next appointment, and lo and behold the next one that wasn't in the morning was over 3 weeks away. The dentist and his assistant were obviously knowledgeable, and were very friendly, but I was not satisfied with how little attention was paid to the fact that I wasn't getting the services I made the appointment for. I chose this dentist based on their location and the reviews on yelp. Bear in mind those of you who are reading this, they offer free movie tickets for reviews on Yelp and Google. read more

Took both my son and daughter here for a cleaning and it was fast and pretty simple. My kids loved it. I decided to schedule my regular cleaning here and I was very disappointed. The hygienist named Barb I believe was very rude and unfriendly. She took about 18 different X-rays of my teeth and kept hitting my jaw with the machine every time. While she was examining the pictures she began to ask questions about who my previous dentist was and what his name was because of my bridge? I asked her why that mattered at all to her and she said because the margins looked weird on my bridge. I was very offended and can't believe how unprofessional that was. Trying to basically put down my last dentist doesn't make me gain business with you for sure. The dentist was actually very professional and nice but all he did was come in and speak in dental terms and poke around my mouth telling barb all of this stuff that needed to be done. After and hour and a half I got no cleaning and was actually sent to the front desk to make and appointment for a deep cleaning when I had actually just had one that year? I was so irritated that I just left and told them to call me. Later that day I got and email that had my "dental plan" attached. Lol it basically stated I would be paying over $4000 and to call them to make and appointment?? I felt like I just took my car to get an oil change and the mechanic tried to screw me telling me all of these extra things I needed to buy. The only difference is that at least at the mechanic I would have got the oil change! I didn't even get a cleaning and had to get a baby sitter for my kids for an hour and a half. I wish they would have informed me when I made the appointment they were going to actually just make my "dental plan" not clean my teeth. I probably will not go back here. I also wouldn't recommended going here for any new patients and if you do absolutely make sure you get a second opinion from another dentist so you don't get ripped off. read more

I didn't have much complaints about Dr. Spurling, he seemed to do a decent job on my daughter despite one of the times he didn't have an assistant so the appointment took a lot longer than it should have. The front staff isn't very helpful, they have Sandy sitting up front who doesn't know much and when I asked for a print out of the work that was done she had to ask for assistance after numerous times of her giving me a full statement rather than what I had requested, which to me seemed a bit odd being that I didn't ask for an unusual request. I also dealt with Maryanne who is very unpleasant and rude. Both times I was in the office and the phone calls I had with her she was rude and unprofessional. I had to mentally prepare myself every time I spoke with her. First I was told I could not use dual insurance even thought one of the insurances did not cover anything , that's the one she decided to use. After numerous calls back and forth she claimed I owed full amount and she had sent my bill to collections and it was no longer her problem , just to find out my insurance did pay the claim . I never received a refund as they did not have any other management other than Maryanne and she refused to give me a refund. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! read more

OMG! This was the best dental experience ever. I love how they have incorporated modern technology into their practice. I thought it was very cool once the doct took pictures of the inside of my mouth with the professional camera and uploaded them onto a ipad. Once they were uploaded onto the ipad, He gave it to me and allowed me to see the pictures, zoom in and see my problem areas and answered all of th questions and concerns that I had. I didnt feel rushed or uneasy...And once i needed to go over the financial layuout of the proccedures the doctor recommended, Summer did a great job of explaining everything to me. The enviornment of the office was great and the front receptionist was very welcoming...even at 7am. :) after returning to work from the appointment, I found out that 3 of my co workers go to this dentist office as well and have no complaints. read more

I have been going to this office for over a year but one bad office manager has changed my mind about spending my money here. I love the hygienist but the rest of the staff needs to add an element of human warmth. I had to reschedule my appointment twice, once because I had impacted wisdom tooth extraction, referred by the dentist there. This was reschedule was more than 24 hours notice, no problem. My next cancellation came one week after the surgery. I didn't realize when I booked the appointment how painful and sore my mouth would be. I called to reschedule the appointment 23 hours before my appointment and they wanted to charge me 50.00 because it wasn't at least 24 hours. I have spent hundreds of dollars at this place and they are trying to pinch me for 50.00 because I was one hour short of 24 hours notice. I have decided to keep the appointment because if the dentist wants to reschedule my appointment, due open wound and stiches, then they will owe ME 50.00. This will be the last dealings I have with this company. I'm going to go to another place where they treat their regular patients with understanding and human compassion. read more

The last time I went to this dentist, not a single person was the same--new hygienists, new dentist, new everyone. It was kind of weird. Was there a hostile takeover? Some shift in the dental balance of power? I don't know. What I do know is that this place seems shady now. I can't put my finger on it, except that I felt like they weren't being honest about what work we really needed done. They were telling my husband that his teeth were so bad that he would need to start coming in for deep cleanings (which cost hundreds of dollars each, natch). On 10/31/14 I went to the new division of Imagine Dental on 7th Avenue and Maryland. The office was new, clean and staff were great,Dr Frie was very professional and experienced. The office charged me 1155 up front for a Mouth guard for TMJ and some chipped teeth. They have a contract with Principle my Dental and United PPO Medical. They said they billed both , on 11/24 they got their contracted rate reimbursed and told me I was responsible for the difference. They never even billed the Medical. I was in the middle of moving and heard nothing from them even though they got the check from the Dental insurance. I have tried calling and emailing them and finally spoke to Dr Brian Lillian and they said they are looking into it. After 4 months I finally called my AX account and they are reimbursing me the amount that is less than 60 days old. I would never go back read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! Dr. Kevin To ruined my teeth and I'm still paying for it--4 months later. He tells all of his (adult) patients they have cavities in "several teeth" and that you "need" other expensive dental work done. Everything was horrible. X-rays made my mouth bleed. Anesthetized my gums then attended to other patients for at least 45 minutes while I was "numbing" (when, by the time my fillings got done, I was NOT numb.) I really, really regret going here. I've since had 14 appointments with my former dentist and endodontist trying undo whatever Dr. To did to prevent me from being able to chew again. This is for the office in Ahwatukee. I was originally a patient with the dentist who sold his practice to Imagine Dental. I put off going as long as I could and even considered looking for a new Dentist. But because of a tooth issue I needed someone quick. I scheduled my appt with Imagine, got in pretty quick and was especially happy with the new hygienist. I loved that she would tell me exactly what she was going to do. So I knew what to expect. The dentist did a great job on my fillings (replacing). Virtually pain free. The shot was the worst part, but that wasn't even terribly bad. Everyone in the office is friendly and welcoming. Took my daughter in for a check up. It was the first time my family had ever used this office. Barb was great with my daughter who is 8 and very anxious in any medical office. For not being specifically a pediatric dental practice top notch:) Everyone was friendly and thorough. They have the latest technology using a laser to numb the tooth to prepare it for filling. This means that adults and children who don't like needles have another option. Communicated and described procedures. Prices were presented in an easy to understand format. Recently I went to imagine dental for a broken tooth. When I called to make an appointment they scheduled me the very next day. After my exam and x-rays Dr.Spurling said I need a build up and crown. Dr.Spurling said he'd be able to take an impression of my tooth and prepare it for the crown so I wouldn't be in any discomfort over the weekend. Awesome! I told Dr. Spurling that that was the best novacane shot I've ever had. By the way Dr. Spurling is a gental friendly knowledge dentist. His dermal assistant was wonderful and Sandy and Mary Ann were very friendly and informative. I came for a cleaning and routine examination. The staff were very friendly and courteous. Dr. To is very professional, knowledgeable, and explained everything he was doing which I appreciated a lot! We looked over the X-rays together, and he went over all the questions I had. Turns out I've been flossing incorrectly my whole life and he took the time to properly educate me on the correct technique for flossing!
