Absolutely a great experience! The kids passed this location as we were getting food and we're so excited to come back and play (but it's a dentist). My little one had an amazing experience here! I was unhappy with my daughter's previous dentist because I felt that she was rushed and not treated like an individual. This is a very cute office and is definitely geared to children. My first experience was similar to other reviewers. Some how my insurance wasn't verified so I was told at my appt time they would need to reschedule to confirm my insurance. They confirmed however pushed my appt back a few hours. I only worked with her because she came high recommended from friends. During the appt she scraped and scrubbed my sons teeth so well (He was 2). I was glad I stayed. The second appt the dentist was VERY condescending and RUDE. It's as if she is doing us a favor by patronizing her business. She was sarcastic and answered questions in a demeaning way. I did appreciate her cleaning my toddlers teeth but I refuse to patronize a business that fails in the customer service dept. 3 stars because his teeth were cleaned well during both visits.. read more

Since this visit, I've seen what everyone else with bad reviews has been saying. I tried to give it a couple more shots just in support of it being a black owned business but I can't continue. From the condescending attitudes to the actual dentist poorly interacting with my child; which prompted me to ask if she had any children, to which she replied 'No', this came as no surprise to me. Let's not forget to mention it being a PEDIATRIC dentist but not having any evening or Saturday hours to actually accommodate children after school hours. The office is clean, has toys and a great waiting room for children, but the dentist and her assistant truly lack in overall professionalism at times. With each visit you do not know if the dentist will be pleasant or not. She lacks bedside manner. To be a medial professional and a business owner, that is unacceptable. My biggest complaint is her lack of concern for others people time. My family was late one time during one of our early visits. She did not allow us to have our visit. Since that time she has been late, upwards of 30 mins. AND she double books. My family had a 3pm and 3:30pm appt. Another family was also scheduled at 3:30pm and she actually took the other child between MY two children. She is looking for more money and more clients, but at the expense of my families time. We schedule work meetings and our kids sports activities around the schedule we are provided when making an appointment. It is inconsiderate. Then, when expressing concern about this practice, the dentist and her assistant respond with an attitude and blank face. Unacceptable. I will be looking for another dentist that honors appointment time and professionalism. read more

Our first 2 visits were ok. But after today, they definitely lost our business. I failed to update our insurance until the prior evening before our appointment. However, same carrier / different policy number. I come to the appointment early, she gathers the information and then tells me that this isn't enough time to verify insurance. This is a contradiction because I provided the insurance at the appointment at our initial visit. Let's go back the the basis, I haven't been there in almost a year. Dental companies provide a free yearly cleaning....my kids were getting a cleaning / no major work (BECAUSE SHE DID THE MAJOR WORK LAST YEAR) and you are willing to lose a potential long term client of $60 per cleaning (WOW). Why didn't you pick up the phone and verified the insurance while I was in your office b/c I arrived early....going "above and beyond" is obsolete....no ma'am, I will not schedule another appointment with you.....Best of luck..... read more

It does not get better than this when it comes to a pediatric dentist...my 8 year old actually hugged Dr. Abioro, and that is AFTER she had two teeth pulled!!! my first visit was good. But after that, omg it was the worst. The dentist is not friendly. its the doctors duty to make their patients feel comfortable. My daughter was scared of the exam and the dentist didnt even said a word or did anything to make her feel comfortable. She was sitting there holding her tools , waiting for her to get back in the chair, which she did not. Eventually we had to leave mid exam because she couldn't do her job properly. This Pediatric Dentist is most unprofessional. She asked my 4 year old daughter "do you eat glasses?" twice. My daughter didn't reply she then turned the TV off on her and stated I turned the TV off because when I ask you a question I expect you to answer me. I asked why do you think a 4 year old would answer that confusing question? She then stated because it's called behavior management and every Certified Pediatric Dentist does it. I stated no they don't I'm a Certified Clinician myself and for the record most Certified Clinicians don't work outside there scope of practice. I removed my daughter dental bib and left without completing the visit. When children go to the Dentist they need to be comforted not intimidated by the actual Dentist. I am really surprised to read the bad reviews given. I have been bringing my two children to this dentist for almost 2 years. I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the dentist and her assistant. I have never had to wait long to be seen. They have an excellent way of scheduling their patients. She usually takes them almost as soon as we walk in. She's open until 7pm once a week, which works perfectly for me. My son doesn't like the experience of the cleaning, but the dentist is always calm and patient with him and talks to him along the way even though he gives her a hard time. The office is very clean and decorated nicely with bright colors. Lots of little things that would appeal to small children. There is a play area, with tv and lots of toys. There's a train that circles around the office along the ceiling. All kids love Thomas the Train!! There are TV screens on the ceiling at each chair, so the child can watch their favorite shows while in the chair. I would highly recommend this dentist to anyone who is looking! read more

We had an awful experience with this office. Our daughter's first (and second) dental experience was a nightmare. The staff has a condescending tone, talked down to our daughter, made her feel horrible about x-rays (it hurt her mouth a lot) and got to the point where she (my daughter) flat-out refused to take x-rays, unwarranted parenting advice from the dentist telling us how we need to withhold things from our daughter "Not let her do anything fun", and then told us she had 5 cavities and needed two possibly three crowns. We had a bad feeling the first time we went there and something did not seem right. The second time sealed our decision to find a new dentist. Really bad experience, nasty staff attitudes and incorrect diagnosis. I can tell you my daughter has less cavities than said and she just got them fixed...no crowns and no problem taking X-rays both bitewing and panoramic. Bottom line, if something does not feel right and your kids are telling you they are uncomfortable, follow your gut feeling. We are so happy with our new dentist, Gentle Family Dentistry in Dunkirk. This is a very unprofessional business. We arrived at 11:00 am. The assistant receptionist was very unprofessional. She did not acknowledge me when I was there. I sat for 10 minutes and she did not even speak to me. It takes 5 seconds to acknowledge and prioritize your customers. I left out to grab a bite to eat and came back at 11:45. They told me that we could not be seen because we were late. I talked to the head dental technician (it would disrespectful to all dentist to call her a dentist) and she confirmed what the rude assistant said as well only with more attitude and disturbing body language. We arrived within the 15 minute grace period. I have never felt so disrespected by a business organization. If I ran my business the way these crass females ran this business, I would be receiving 1 star yelp reviews as well. I can not wait until this business is no longer operable. I will rejoice in celebration. I live in the development behind this establishment and walk by here all the time and see that the foot traffic has gone down considerably since it first opened. We had a terrible experience at Dental Land with my 4 year old and almost 2 year old. The office is great, very kid friendly and both my children were happy to be there. The office was empty except for the person at the front desk and the dentist but no one greeted us, they just ushered us back. I explained that this was the toddler's first time and we've tried a couple of warm up visits with my 4 year old over the last two years but wanted to do the actually first cleaning at a pediatric office. The dentist never introduced herself or interacted at all with the kids. She was very cold, just asked for medical history then put on the mask and glasses and told me to restrain my 4 year old and place his head on her lap. She said I would need to hold him down. He heard this and panicked. I told her I would prefer some warm up or engagement from her first so he could understand what she was going to do, the tools she was going to use, etc. She said she would engage with him when he was laying on her lap and she was able to look in his mouth. Long story short, I tried to lay him down and he went nuts, kicking and screaming. She told me as a parent he has to listen to me and I have to restrain him. I told her again that some level of interaction or explanation or anything from her would make it easier and she ended up repeating several times that children should do as they are told and if they don't listen to the parent, why would they listen to her-a stranger. I was infuriated that she kept insinuating I was being an indulgent parent and that the issue was discipline. I explained that I want my children to have positive experiences with the dentist and unless it's an emergency or gently holding their hands down (for shots, other necessary procedures), I'm not going to force them into a stranger's lap and restrain them. There has to be some warm up to get kids comfortable. I ended up telling her that this approach won't work for us and we clearly have different philosophies on interacting with children. We left. I very rarely post reviews but this experience had me all sorts of angry because my kids are even more afraid of the dentist now. It is my opinion that Dr. Abioro should not be working with young children. read more

I took my almost 2 yr old here for his first appt. The office is perfect for young ones. It's bright with lots of toys and even a train that runs around the office. There's coffee and water available also. The dentist gave a tour of the office which included 2 chairs for cleanings and 1 chair, in a separate room for fillings. There's also several toothbrush stations so you could take your child right from school and have them brush there. There's also a big mouth sculpture with 2 big brushes that kids can play with. The dentist was very patient and good with my son. I highly recommend Dental Land Pediatrics! read more

I took my son here for his first dental appointment. The atmosphere is super kid friendly and my son felt extremely comfortable walking in. After a speedy check in process the friendly staff were really accommodating and patient with my some what apprehensive first timer. My son went from being afraid to sit in the chair to opening his mouth wide so that the dentist could clean his teeth with yummy cake flavored paste. In the end he walked away a happy camper with stickers and goodies for having done such a great job. The dentist was very imformative when it came to his oral health and thorough in explaining how to care for his teeth. This was no doubt the best appointment I've ever been to and we look forward to our next appointment in six months. read more

We have been going to Dental Land for over two years. We found their prices to be more reasonable than other places and the office is very inviting. We never had to wait long for an appointment either. The first appointment went as expected. I have always enjoyed the receptionist and she has always been kind and up-beat. However, Dr. Abioro's behavior with children is cold and odd at best. As an elementary educator and mother of three children, I find it odd that she picks to work with children considering how cold and rude she is to them. She has always been rude and distant to me personally but I just tried to shrug it off. We have always been good patients, showing up on time, saying please and thank you, paying bills quickly, so I could never figure out why. The last couple of visits went down hill very quickly as I could not wait to get out of there. I didn't even book a follow-up appointment! My children never had dental phobias until our last couple of visits with Dr. Abioro, now they cry if we even mention the dentist and this just should not be! I highly recommend someone else if you want your child to have a more positive dental experience. read more

An amazing team. It was my daughter's first dental experience and they made her feel so special. Appointments were easy to make and I was even able to fill out the paperwork online! Dr. Abioro and staff were so patient and sweet. They made her feel so special and it was so genuine. Dr. Abioro has such a gifted bedside manner. She adjusted her energy with each new task which helped my daughter adjust, too. Her office is neat, clean and inviting. Everything from the walls to the mural to the floors were so well thought out! I am so disappointed that I have to write this review but I guess I should have known that my poor review would be coming as a see a pattern with the reviews. Our first visit was very welcoming, the toys, train and colors are awesome. The doctor was obviously fine as I didn't think she was rude until my second and third visit. My third visit was our last. If you work with kids you need patience and to be welcoming. My 4 year old son is inquisitive and very well behaved. He was scared, asked questions , did what he was told and tried to get the dr. To crack a smile. Not once did she answer a question, at some point she said are you a baby or big boy? And during X-rays process she was also very rude. At the end of the visit she was unprofessional and rude. Her delivery was horrible. I would think someone who wants kids to have a pleasant experience would actually conduct themselves in a manner that helps her clients. My two children 2 and 7..had an amazing experience with Dr.Dinah she personally took her time with my chatty 7 year old and made sure she knew how her x Ray was going to to be taken and how her teeth were cleaning. She allowed my daughter to take 5 min to pick the fluoride flavor!! Patience and knowledge! My daughter had one minor cavity that needs to be filled and she explained the whole process to me and allowed me to see her x rays and made sure I was knowledgable about it all. My two year was brought in by my fiancé but she again explained the whole procedure to myself and him and provided a healthy nurturing first time experience for him. We had a wonderful experience our 1st visit. The office was clean, friendly dentist & assistant and my daughter loved it. However, I have to change my review for the following reasons. We recently found out we were charged double the price because we were initially told we did not have dental coverage. When the insurance realized it was an error and we had the office rebill them I discovered we were initially charged double the price that she charges the insurance. The best reason they could come up with when I questioned it was they add a service fee for patients without insurance. A service fee higher than the cost of the service??? I felt scammed. Then the refund check the office issued me had the wrong name on it and it has been a hassle trying to get it corrected. She refused to mail out a new check because they do not want to pay for stop payment. I try to bring it in and the office randomly closes with no warning of the closings on their voicemail or website. Between that & personal conversation during my daughter's last exam we won't be back. As a health professional myself I found all of this inappropriate. read more

The dentist and her receptionist were very friendly. They made my daughter feel very at ease and made her laugh a few times. It is a very child friendly environment. Very colorful and lots of things to entertain her while we waited for her turn. We were the last appointment of the day so all of their attention was on her. I had to give a star, otherwise I would have given zero stars!!! The receptionist was rude and ignorant to me as a new patient, I will never give this place any of my business and will be sure to tell everyone how rude and unprofessional they are! I had scheduled an appointment and while on the phone I was not told to that I would be emailed a packet to fill out ahead of time in order for my child to be seen. If told I would have looked for it in my spam or junk mail folder, because obviously that is where it went. I check my emails daily and never received this email but was reassured by the receptionist that I did and what date I received it on. Very rudely at that! I asked if new patients had to have this complete why would you not mail them to their home address, her response was because we email them. I asked her if I could fill it out while my child was as getting her teeth cleaned and she said no it needs to be done before. She told I should have come 20 minutes earlier, and of course I guess I should have known this right??? When I didn't even know about the packet to begin with. I told her I took my child out of school for this appointment and asked if there possibly was anything a little later and she said no none today, but they could see her tomorrow. I am not having my child miss school twice because of her being rude to me as a new patient! This was absolutely the rudest receptionist I have ever come across, we live more then 30 minutes away!! Such a waste of time!! I then called my referring dentist to let them know what poor service I had received, funny how they were very apologetic to me when I never once received an apology from Dental Land!!!
