Large selection that had a lot of great wines, typical hard liquor. Rather large inside, three registers for quick checkout. We had some questions and someone happily appeared to help us. Fairly priced and good hours too. We quickly found what we wanted and were on our way. Please note, if your in Green River for your stay you won't be able to buy a bottle of wine without paying close to $50 each from a restaurant. So if you are visiting Arches NP, recommend doing another 15 miles to Moab to purchase wine and definitely eat there so many great restaurants - like Thai Bella!!! read more

I'm into the craft beer stage of life and this is one of the only places in the city you can get double ipa's at this price/selection. Prices for hard liquor didn't strike me as being obscenely high either. Got a few cans of squatters Hop Rising and FMU. I love the fact you can by individual cans instead of the entire 6 pack. All places should do that. Notching them a star for not sticking to posted hours. However, you'll be pretty safe if you get there an hour after or an hour before posted times. On the day I went doors were still locked at 11 and I could see patrons trying the door and leaving. I came back after lunch and once in I heard an employee chuckle they currently close at 6pm "actually" (and not the posted 6pm). Note: They are closed on Sundays as listed. read more

Even though this is one of the state run stores which usually is a waste of time, this place has some seriously good prices!

I offer a humble suggestion that one ignore the "foot stomping" reviews for this Moab liquor store based on some individuals' dislike for State of Utah liquor sales laws. The archaic rules are what the archaic rules are. And in that context, this liquor store, the only place to purchase in nearly a 100 mile radius, is well stocked and staffed by friendly people. Friendly staff who check out lots of customers very efficiently, at least on the day we were there, and put up with the kvetching by some of those customers about the State of Utah's liquor sale rules, over which the staff here have no control. Were I the staff, I might take up drinking on the job...or bean the customers with a beer bottle. Whichever. So here's what visitors may want to know in advance. 1) All liquor sales for take away in Utah are via state run stores, like this one. Which means you can only buy bottles of hooch, or wine or full strength beer to go at stores like this. (Beer sold in groceries in Utah is reduced alcohol, 3.2% "near beer". Beer made in local breweries is also reduced alcohol.) 2) Beer is not chilled here. Nor is wine for that matter. And again I think that is a Utah law "thing". So if you want that bottle of Pinot Blanc or that six pack of IPA cold to enjoy after a day in Arches or Canyonlands National Parks, plan ahead to buy it ahead and put it in your cooler or hotel room fridge. Those who want to stomp their feet about the unarguably inane Utah rule that prevents chilled beer or chilled wine in this liquor store might want to keep in mind what a ridiculously "first world problem" this is. 3) They do not sell mixers. For example, if you want tonic for your gin you'll need to hit up a local grocery store. No, I am not kidding you. It is also based on a State of Utah rule, I was told. 4) They have a darned good selection of vino, both domestic (which here means California primarily) and imported, for such a moderate size place like this. Prices were darned good too. We could compare them for things we drink like Silver Oak Cabernet, Michael David Petite Petit and Trefethen Dry Riesling. They have wines across price points and bottlings, including vino in jugs if that's your thing. 5) The hard liquor selection is not particularly broad or deep, this is a small tourist town in Utah after all, but you'll find top selling brands across bourbon, scotch, vodka, gin, rum... If you're looking for Aperol or St. Germain, probably not here. If you're looking for Kahlua, all good. 6) I didn't see any ice to purchase, but I also didn't ask about it. Perhaps it was there just out of sight. THIS N THAT: 1) PARKING: Private lot, paved, and while not huge it was ample on a busy day. 2) ACCESSIBILITY: ADA compliant parking in lot, level in the door, all on one floor, ample aisle space. read more

Desperate for alcohol, dropped in here for beer and vodka! Was told to try 5 wives but also since it was gay pride month, we were able to find 5 husbands vodka! Yum and good prices! The tapir within the store was super fun, jokes all around including from the woman in charge, who offered me a job! Lol. I'd say yes but I live in CA and that's one hell of a commute! Yes, Utah has some pretty heavy-handed liquor laws. So, you deal with it and find a state-run liquor store. We were on an extended RV camping vacation in Utah and our wine supply ran dry. Lucky for us that we were in Moab, which is home to the only store to buy wine and spirits within 100 miles. Not a great selection of wines, but good enough. Hey, you don't have to be fabulous if you're the only game in town. Store was well organized and staff was friendly. No complaints here. Note that they are closed on Sundays. read more

You go up to pay and the machine says "Credit" or "Debit". I was paying with a debit card which has a chip. So I selected "Debit". It didn't take twice. So I tried to swipe just as you would anywhere else in the world except for this store. The ancient prick at the register starts screeching at me to select "Credit". I said , "I have a debit card," genuinely baffled. He actually started to put my purchases away. "Do you want to buy these?" and gives this exasperated look at the other customers. It was as if this had never happened before. "Then you'll do as I tell you." Then I'll do as you tell me? This pale and bloodshot face was furious. Then I selected "Credit", not "Debit" paying with my debit card, but I'm the asshole for not intuiting this from the beginning. What's also funny is that while I was standing in line I saw a whiteboard in the employee space where someone had written "Today's goal: Be positive. Positivity will bring positive things to you." I thought, That's nice. 555 stars for me not suplexing this fossilized twerp then and there. What a condescending old fossil, the kind of guy you throw off a balcony by accident on their own birthday, the sort of schmuck who joins Ancestry.com and every great-great grand relative they look up is just himself. My only complaint here is about the selection - the range offered is definitely toward the low end, we're talking cheaper spirits, something for cocktails maybe, not spirits to drink neat. This could well be a Utah phenomena because I've experienced this low-end selection in every liquor in the state so far (and in Idaho too actually). There are no higher-end allocated bourbons - there was no bourbon greater than $50 (many would say this is the minimum to spend on a quality bourbon). The quality of the tequilas on offer is low - many are not 100% agave. I wouldn't make a margarita with most of the tequilas offered. There were a couple of mezcals which is something. read more

The only liquor establishment in town. One thing I don't recall seeing in other reviews is that the beer is priced per bottle. We kind of figured that out when we were there but there was a 4-pack of beer that was priced at $5.85 (or near that), and were like, "Oh, that's definitely the price for the whole 4-pack." Nope! We went to check out with a bottle of Chi Chi's ready to serve margarita ($10.99 on special, good price) and our 4 pack of beer and it was $35! Gulp! Each bottle of that beer was $5.85. Anyhoo, we put that back and got some other varieties for a lesser price per bottle. Total price on our Margarita mix and 4 bottles of various beers ended up being $20.04. So now you know. I'm obviously not a citizen of the great state of Utah, so I'm not used to the state owned Liquor stores, but I was unimpressed by everything about it. The beer selection was dismal and horridly expensive, not to mention the fact that none of the beer was in a cooler which can decrease the overall quality of the taste. The wine selection was decent and it was priced to be about right. My recommendation, buy your Liquor/Beer/Wine in Colorado or just buy the 3.2 beer in the City Market in town. It's not worth the hassle or the price that the Utah Department of Alcohol Consumption sets. THIS IS THE ONLY LIQUOR STORE IN TOWN, so keep that in mind. read more

THIS IS THE ONLY LIQUOR STORE FOR 100 miles!!! I kid you not! The selection was tiny, priced per item, & not in a refrigerated case. So, a 6 pack was $12 & warm. The local breweries stink, so I ended up buying stuff I can get at home, but paid an arm for it! I'm giving this place four stars because this year I wasn't followed back to my hotel room or campsite by a member of local law enforcement for buying a lot of booze. On previous adventures, I have been followed back "home" by marked and unmarked cars, then asked what it was I "needed all that hooch for, boy?!?!" I figure, anytime that I can buy booze in Utah without someone starting a grand jury probe into me, this is a step forward. Utah, oh Utah.... You have strange booze laws and you prevent people like me from getting too ripped and twisted in your fair little hamlets. I knew I should have bought booze in Flagstaff on my way up, but hubris and a heavy foot got the better of me. The people are very friendly at this location. The selection isn't great, but its better than the store down south of there. The cops didn't follow me home, I was able to get ripped and twisted in the confines of my hotel trailer, and I used the power of beer to ride the next day. Four stars all around. read more

People say this is the only place to buy beer in Moab but it's not! Go to Moab Brewery! Great beer, good prices, and the food is delicious as well. After looking and seeing a minimum of $12 per six pack I made the short drive and I am so glad I did. Mormons try and shove stupid laws down your throat, but there are ways around them!
