They are thorough - replacing fascia boards, most of the wood on a fireplace and any other questionable wood. We have a wooden pergola they had to work around. They jacked it up, worked under it and put it back in place. They reconfigured our gutters to make them more efficient AND replaced all leaf guards. Each day they used a magnetic tool to pick up any nails as well as general clean up. They color matched our house paint and painted any wood that was replaced. I met the owner Jose while he was next door checking up on a large re roofing job his crew were working on. I asked Jose if he could schedule me for a roof inspection as soon as possible because heavy rains were forecasted to come into the area in a few days. Jose came back to my home the next day and got up on my steep wood shake roof. He took many pictures of some of the issues I had with the roof. I knew of some of the problems he found, but not all of them. Jose knew of the wet weather coming into the area in two days, so the hope was to get this done within a day or two. I received a txt message from his coordinator the following day letting me know that his crew would come early am the next day. I was worried that this job would be a rushed one with a minimum crew since I was pushing so hard for a quick turnaround. Early morning the next day, a crew of 4 men arrived and got busy for the next 7 hours doing the outlined repairs. A excellent crew, stopping only for a quick lunch in my drive. At the end of the day, they foreman of the team shared additional pictures with me of the repairs they had made. I was so pleased to see all of the damage completely repaired, especially since heavy rains were on the way starting the next day. I have had Miguel and his skilled crew of employees out over the last few years to repair my roof and do regular roof maintenance. There is an ongoing leak issue and a permanent fix will be determined, but for now Geraldo just did a temporary fix on my roof until the rain stops. Geraldo showed up early and was very courteous and took a video with his phone to show me the temporary fix that he came up with. With all the rain these last few months, we noticed a water stain on the ceiling in one of our rooms. Ugh! Right around the Holidays, of course! Well, we called around and left messages with a few of the other well reviewed roofing companies around the area & received no responses or unbelievable quotes for not even having come out to look at our home & the problem we had (one wanted to charge $300 just to come look at the roof slope, not even go up on the roof, and the other gave a flat quote based only on a Googled pic of our house and the possibility of replacing a handful of broken tiles as the assumption was that there had to be broken tiles causing the leak: if it was found out to be anything else, the fee for the actual work done would have been added onto the original quote despite not having to replace any broken tiles + labor. Wait, whhhaaaatttt?!!?? As we did not have any work done by these companies & the contact people that we spoke to seemed "helpful", we won't leave bad reviews for either.) This may or may not be "standard practice" for the industry, I honestly don't know, but I certainly did not feel like I wanted to work with either company. The learning curve for being a homeowner certainly is scary, lol!!! Suffice it to say, I'm very glad that we got in touch with Jose! After talking to him on the phone and discussing what our situation was, he told me that he could have someone come to our house for an inspection -- no charge!! -- to see what kind of a job they would be looking at before giving us a quote for the work needed. We scheduled the inspection within the next few days, nervously waiting while the rain continued to pour and the ceiling stain continued to expand. Miguel arrived on time (courteously identified himself upon arrival & respectfully waited at the end of the entryway -- I really appreciate that as too many people loom practically in the door frame after ringing the doorbell), removed his shoes after seeing that we had carpet even though I told him that he didn't have to, and checked out the suspicious stain before going back outside to check out the roof. Once on the roof, he did a thorough inspection finding no broken tiles, only weather & age worn away roof mortar, which was literally crumbling away that needed to be redone. When he asked if he could inspect further, I said yes, he double-checked the area around where the stain was showing on the ceiling. Upon removing the tiles around the valleys, he found that there was a significant accumulation of debris preventing the valleys from draining the rainwater appropriately, acting as little flood dams that improperly diverted the rainwater. Best thing: he took lots of pics for us to see exactly what was up there before replacing all the tiles back where they belonged. Given how much work Miguel did just during the inspection, I was confident in scheduling the work needed after calling Jose to discuss the pricing. My neighbor gave me a full report of the work that they did (I wasn't home but she watched the whole thing from her upstairs window, lol) and she stated that they seemed careful, efficient & thorough the entire time that they worked on our house: 3+ hrs. She says that she will definitely be contacting them when their own roof needs fixing :). Again, Miguel took lots of pics for us to show exactly what they did & that they did find a hole in the roofing felt, which they removed and replaced with new material. The result: lots of heavy to moderate rain and no change in the ceiling stain! They also replaced one of the pipe flashings that had deteriorated from age & weather. Overall, *VERY* happy with the quality of service, pricing and communication that we've had with Dependable Roofing and its staff particularly from Jose, Miguel & Paulina! We will definitely be working with them in the future for all of our roofing needs. We can't express enough how satisfying it is knowing that our home is ready for the coming El Nino weather & we HIGHLY recommend that you call them to get your home ready, too! Several weeks ago we noticed a tile (or two?) missing on our roof and starting calling roofers; not one of them returned our call and we were becoming more and more concerned because of all the rain we are expecting this year. But we lucked out when I happened to notice Miguel on a neighbor's roof across the street. When he came down I asked if we could schedule an appointment for his company to look at our roof. I half expected him to turn us down because it was such a small job, but he offered to do it on the spot. He walked the entire roof and took pictures of assorted other things that we were completely unaware of. We received a detailed estimate from Jose, the owner, within a day or two for what we felt was a fair and reasonable price and the work was completed a few days later. Once again, Miguel took pictures to show his work as it was in progress and the completed work. In addition to the roof repairs our gutters received what is probably the most THOROUGH cleaning EVER! To top it off Miguel and his co-worker cleaned the front of the gutters and they look like they were just painted! No one has ever done that before and we could not be more satisfied! This roofer did a Terrible job on the roof of my house. There are new leaks since he installed the new roof. When I asked who his liability company, he said he didn't know! He said he'd have someone call me back. Which never happened. He broke into my circuit breaker, after unwiring the electiciy to my house. He denied this. However, we had to call an electrician the next day after being in the house all afternoon, evening without electricity. The roofer here, his "best" allegedly, drove away in haste without telling me anything at all, after knowing he'd blown the circuit breaker. The electrician said "someone deliberately unwired and cut the wire, after removing the face of the circuit breaker, which was locked, and replaced the face of the circuit breaker thinking we would not notice! I was paid by Jose to remove the original review. It has been over a year since the new roof was installed and of course, he has not taken care and has even denied there are leaks. He said the leaks are everywhere which is a lie, laughingly, and walked off. It is a simple roofing job; his specialty. Why not fix it??? He has no integrity. I own 8 different houses, yet have never, ever had a new roof put on with more problems than the original roof. Jose said that the roof was insured against leaks for 25 years. Why can't it work for even 1 year? And why doesn't he fix it? The other reviews are written by people that work for him. I know this because I've tried to get in touch with him 10 times in the the last year. I've spoken to everyone in his company, while only trying to reach him. This man lied to us. We have had to pay not only for the electrician and a locksmith in excess of $1000, not to mention the aggravation. I am an attorney and am looking forward to a lawsuit. read more

My husband called Jose today, who sent his man, Wilfredo, to checkout the issue we have on our roof. Wilfredo was very comfortable climbing up to the rooftop & immediately investigated the problem by moving the roof tiles off the spot we pointed to. This gave me the impression of his level of experience & confidence. He took pictures of the issue & came down to share it with my husband & I. We asked him to give us a quote, where he then contacted Jose to explain the work it would take to fix the issue. Jose asked Wilfredo to hand the phone to us to give us the quote. I thought his quote was reasonable, which included a 1 year guarantee, so I asked if the work could be done now, with the condition the contract be emailed to me before the work could begin. Jose passed the phone to Vanessa to get my information & who stated that she will email the contract ASAP. In a little while, I received the detailed contract showing what we agreed on over the phone. I gave Wilfredo the 'go' to begin work. Wilfredo was quick to get to work and was very good. He even took pictures of before, during and after of the work he did. He had another co-worker (another Jose) assist him towards the end. Both workers were very nice & polite. Continuing my last review: A few days later, Sandra told me they got time available on 09/01. surprisingly, on that day-yesterday, not only Rene came, also Miguel and Jose(not the owner Jose, another one) came as well. We expected it would take a long time to have someone come out and we expected their price to be high. We were wrong. Jose came out sooner than expected and spent time to educate us on what needed to be done, pointed out which products other houses on our street had used and left us samples. Their estimate was competitive so we went with Dependable Roofing. We're glad we did. They showed up on time every single day and worked hard all day long, especially Edgar and Kevin. Just like their name, these guys are dependable. Jose came out to inspect my roof on the day and time we agreed on. Then he gave me a reasonable estimate and a date and time when his guy would show up to do the repair. The guys showed up on time and did a fantastic job. They went around and inspected other areas that were potentially damaged and added sealant to some shingles that had cracked - at no extra charge. They were quick, efficient, clean, and courteous - everything you want a roof contractor to be. At the end of the job, i tried to tip them but they wouldn't take it. I've been fretting, shopping, researching, and interviewing roofing contractors in anticipation of "the big event" for quite some time.
