DeSantis has been excellent for us. We had in 2021 a 4 zone HVAC system put in and the team did an excellent job designing and installing. A rare computer board failure happened in the outside unit. The part was on a long back order. This was very hard for us as we had no air conditioning in August of all months. They found us a used one from another unit that got us by until the new one came in. Trane, for our inconvenience, sent us a check for $500 for goodwill. Because DeSantis took such good care of us, we had them install this past summer a new HVAC system in our rental property. I see negative comments here and they all seem to be about the time Mr. DeSantis passed away unexpectedly. The company was going through the transition of new ownership. read more

We have a Lennox HVAC in the home we just moved into. No service records from previous owners so scheduled DeSantis for service. Dennis was amazing helping us figure out the system, called for diagnostics on one issue and Abel came within 1/2 hour. Problem quickly identified and fixed (previous owners incorrectly programmed the thermostat causing heat not to fire up). Outstanding service response, very reasonable cost. The tech guessed where the leak in the 4 year old Trane Air conditioning system was located. I was told my 4 year old copper line should be replaced because it was rusting. (Copper doesn't rust) He would run it out through the attic, down the out the house and it would cost $400. I told DeSantis service I didn't want to have him back here ever again. who do they send out to replace the 4 year old evaporator coil? the guy I never wanted back here. I was told I couldn't get anyone for another week. so In total it was about 6 weeks I was out of Aircondionin. DeSantis doesn't stock the coils and they were on back order from Trane. I'm pretty sure the last guy lied to me too. I'll find out tomorrow when he comes out to do a pressure check. read more

I had an appraiser come out on the 26th of June named Chris. I waited nearly one month for a quote. Talked with Mary who answered the phone numerous times and never got any calls back. July 19th I called and spoke with Melissa the manager who couldn't give me an update and accused me of being rude and told me to stop arguing with her because I simply asked when she thought the quote would be ready.... I told her I wanted to speak to her boss (Daniel) who never reach out to me but I did received a call from Chris the original appraiser basically just giving me the run around telling me the load calc wasn't ready ( A month later?!?). It was a $10k+ new construction job and they obviously didn't want to be bothered. It's now the 15th of August and I never heard from them. ***HUGE waste of time and major disappointment... I wouldn't recommend them to anyone! read more

Our AC went out when it was 90 plus degrees. We called Desantis and they were on site two hours before their expected arrival time. Their service technician (Conrad) immediately determined the problem, and he replaced the needed part and was on his way in less than 10 minutes. I don't appreciate waiting 5-days before DeSantis came out; charged me $89 just to tell me my appliance is broken - I KNOW ITS BROKEN!!! I called you and told you exactly what is broken. Well ... after waiting 2-weeks for the new part (3-days for the part to deliver and 1 extra week to re-schedule a new technician), the technician came out and replaced the part in 30-minutes. That was $139 labor plus the cost of the part ($40) *** all that and it still didn't work. Now the manager came out and said more parts needed to be replaced. This would be another $139 for the return visit plus the more parts ($130). They're just throwing parts at it and hoping for a fix. They're taking your money everytime they come, even it they didn't fix it the first time. What makes it worse ... is their Customer Service agents treat you like you don't matter. read more

We called Desantis Appliance and AC service as their name was on the thermostat of the AC. We recently bought our office and the thermostat was showing that it was time for servicing. My staff called them and asked for servicing appt and they gave us today's appt. Today the technician comes to the office and my staff asked if he could look at the thermostat after servicing the AC and show us how to program. The guy who never introduced himself went straight to the thermostat and programmed something. He then asked my staff how we planned to pay him? My staff said he is supposed to do the servicing which he has not done yet and the appointment was for the servicing. He said he was not here for the maintenance and just for a service call. My staff said we called his AC company for servicing and he needs to do that before he leaves. The technician said he needed to check his tablet and went out and stayed there for 15 mins and then comes back in and says that he is not doing the servicing on the AC as they are scheduled out to September and he has another job to get to that he was not going to argue with us for what he was there for that it was $150 for him to come out and $75 to program the thermostat. He said we could call the office to figure out what the issue was. When we called the office lady who answered said the same thing. She said his noted are not in yet to let us know what he did. My 2 staff who witnessed this were upset and I called their office again. All their employees and the owner refuse to say their names even after asking repeatedly. The lady who spoke called herself as owner and reluctant to say her name and said it is on our shirt. The technician also did not say his name. The owner says the charges are for programming the termostat which was not the reason why we called them. The owner whose name is Missey DeSantis said "this is not free to program the thermostat and the technician was there for 1 hour based on the GPS". I explained to her that the technician was not in our office for 1 hour. He was hardly there for 8-10 mins and he was in his car for the rest of the time. The owner kept repeating the same thing. This business is not clear on their terms and did not tell us that they are not doing the servicing. I will complain to BBB about them and how they keep refusing to say their names inspite of asking multiple times (including the owner). I have worked with multiple AC servicing company and I have never experienced this poor service and giving wrong information that the technician was there for 1 hour. This technician and this company is fraud and I would be careful using them as they will charge you $150 for not doing anything. The owner was screaming and kept saying that nothing is free! They trap you once you call them and charge $150 for nothing. read more

Take your business to someone else. This company represents everything that is wrong with AC companies in Florida. If you need mini-split work it will cost $89 + $285 + $100 + $140 and that's if nothing is wrong but some missing gas, no leaks, and no other problems. That's not what they will quote you, but that's the "flat-fees" they won't tell you. They have the worst customer service, and bad business practices and they preyed on vulnerable a stage 4 cancer patient who fought for this country, who just wanted to be comfortable in his final days. I was quoted a flat charge of $89 and the price of gas ($50-100) for a mini split recharge. They charged $615 without ever explaining any additional charges. Apparently, there is a "standard" $285 charge to evacuate the system, an evacuation is required to refill any system that previously had gas, they knew this because that's what I told them when I made the appointment. Kim said this was in the $89 charge and to "check for leaks". They record every phone call, yet never bothered to check what exactly Kim said or the quote I was given. I called 4 times and was told the owner would call me back. Never happened. No one ever tried to correct their overcharge, instead made up some "standard charges" that apparently no one else knows about including the head technician Aaron. Had a new Trane unit installed by DeSantis just over a year ago. It failed county inspection because of an air leak around one connection. DeSantis came out and sealed leak. Lasted about a week until it came loose and they had to come out again. Couple of weeks later I had to call and remind them they still needed to replace exhaust for heating part of the unit. They had brought wrong parts when unit originally installed - Promised they would be back. They did replace it, but only after I called about a month later. When originally giving quote, also made it a point to say Mr. DeSantis always personally inspected every unit after installation - That still hasn't happened a year later. Unit works ok, but not a good experience overall. read more

On 3-27-2014 Desantis sold me a new Trane air conditioning unit. The unit ran perfectly fine until 6-18-2015 when the unit was serviced. The unit stopped working later in the evening after the tech left. Desantis was called, and came out on 6-19-2015 and repaired the unit and said a TXV valve was broken/malfunctioning. They charged me a $75.00 service fee and also changed a thermostat that didn't need to be replaced and charged me $350.00 and would not provide a receipt. The unit was still not cooling properly and Desantis was called out on 7-1-2015 and "fixed" the unit again. On 7-2-2015 the unit broke down again and was out of service the entire July 4th weekend.On 7-6-2015 Desantis returned and said they replaced the TXV valve and refilled the unit with freon, but the unit was still not performing correctly or cooling efficiently. Desantis only provided one receipt for all these visits, and it was for the last service call on 7-6-2015. Since then they will not return phone calls, and the owner Frank Desantis will absolutely not return any calls to the manufacturing company Trane or myself.I was forced to use another company with the advice from the manufacturer of the unit Trane, and they recommended Sun Kool. Sun Kool came to my property on 8-16-2015 and assessed the unit and discovered it was not cooling properly, it had a weak compressor and the TXV valve was malfunctioning. They charged me $89.95 for the service call.Sun Kool advised that I needed a new compressor and TXV valve. On 9-23-2015 Sun Kool arrived at my property and replaced the parts on the unit as they were covered under warranty. I was charged $950.00 for labor from Sun Kool. I believe the whole reason for this problem was a Desantis technician breaking my unit's TXV valve, causing the compressor to work harder and therefore in the end failing. I can furnish any proof of purchase or receipts if necessary. I wish to be made whole by being awarded the amount of $1464.95 for the amount of labor I have had to pay out due to Frank Desantis and his incompetent technicians actions. Thank You. Their techs and service are great! I had a major issue with an AC unit in a home I bought on a short-sale awhile ago. Munns came out and kept fixing the end result, but wouldn't address "the issue". I spent thousands with Munns before finally calling Desantis. They came out twice (the 2nd time the owner of the company came out as well), diagnosed my airflow issue and came up with a solution. Their prices are better. Recently I had an AC issue, and I called them at 4:15PM. They had someone out that evening (no extra $$) to replace a thermostat and clean the drain line. DeSantis came out to repair the refrigerator in my rental property. He told me the ice maker needed to be replaced. So we did that...and he charged me $150. Unfortunately the problem continued to happen... They came out again and said a motor needed to be replaced. I did that, for $191...still didn't work. So I held up payment...called them twice, no return call. I needed to get the refrigerator working as I had renters, so I bought a new one. Called them again, no response, no mailed invoice. Then a month later they called asking where their $$ was. I explained the situation, they said the repairman would call to discuss. He did and said OK, no charge, this was back in March. Then I get a call from a collection agency, 3 months later! NO call from them, EVER. They could have saved us both a lot of run around if they would just take the time to call. Be careful. This family owned company is not very specific when you question them about total price on a repair. I asked the parts guy twice to give me a total including the money I had paid for service call and he lied to me. Then when I called lady in office she got defensive and basically said I was screwed because someone in her office couldnt be dishonest. I would think twice and find another company to do business with. I am a business man and had to give money back on several occasions due to someone not understanding me clearly.
