heater didn't work and it was pretty cold but too tired to deal with it that late so put on our jackets and beanies and socks . And please beware of the broken balcony railing that is about to come down in room 210 , that was scary ! the girl at the desk knew about the railing she said so pretty upset that they would put someone in that room . They wanted to give an $11. discount which I felt was insulting , they ended up giving a $30. discount. they were not apologetic at about it . beautiful property and clean room , please check the safety of the room and make sure things are working before you unpack if you should decide to stay here . read more

For a Wyndham affiliated hotel, this was undoubtedly the worst AND FILTHIEST hotel we have EVER STAYED IN. We arrived late after a very long drive from San Diego. We basically just passed out when we got to our room. In the morning, first off my back was killing me from an extremely hard mattress, the pillowed were all bunched up like they had been washed and I noticed a mildew smell. I started to smell the sheets and to my dismay, IT WAS THE SHEETS!!!! Gross is all I've got to say. Next, I went to the shower/bathtub and turned on the water. While I was sitting there waiting for the water to get warm, I looked around the bathroom and noticed rolled up candy wrappers underneath the vanity and some kind of plastic cover laying on the ground. As I went to step into the shower I noticed brown things floating in the water. I looked around closer and saw the most horrific thing I've ever seen in a hotel room. The shower curtain had mold and mildew on the bottom of it. It almost made me get sick, honestly. Needless to say, I did not take a shower. My husband took pictures and went directly to the front desk to report the issues. He advised them that we would be gone all day and expect a top to bottom clean of the room, new sheets and comforters and a NEW shower curtain. He was advised that this would be done. We returned 5 hours later and to our surprise the bathtub was wiped down and a new shower curtain was put up. NOTHING ELSE HAD BEEN DONE!!! The trash in the bathroom was STILL on the floor, sheets were not changed. I started to look closely at the rest of the room. The floor were ONLY vacuumed in traffic areas, the chairs were not moved and there was bits of food, sunflower seeds and dust bunnies under the table and chairs. The headboards and light fixtures were COVERED in dust. Absolutely disgusting . I called down to speak to the manager on duty and she apologized for the housekeeping and advised that they haven't been doing the best job lately. She advised that she was going to call the owner and see what could be done. We waiting an additional 2 hours for her to call back to no avail. We called Hotwire and they were amazing. They offered that if we could leave within 30 mins that they could they w refund 2 of the 3 days that had already been paid. They even gave us the difference between the rates at this disgusting place and the new hotel we found. We quickly packed and left the hotel. Before leaving, I stopped by the front desk and spoke to Tina and the manager that was supposed to call me back. I asked her to go up to my room and look for herself. She came back down and said, "it's a little dusty" . I asked if she had looked under the vanity at the trash I told her about and she said no. Then asked if she looked under the table and chairs to see the food and dust bunnies, again she said no. I advised her how disgusting this was and all she said was sorry. I asked for a refund of the 1 night and was given the answer, "I'm sorry." Honestly, we gave this hotel a second chance to make things right by cleaning the room properly and when that was ignored we had no other choice but to leave. I am BEYOND WORDS that this manager did not take us seriously and at least refund us for our 1night stay. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! You all have been warned !!!!!!!! Although it's not a new construction, it's clean and well maintained. The room was good size, nothing fancy. Lots of room for my 70 lb golden to crash in the middle of the floor and me not having to inch by her. My dog loved their enclosed pet area outside in the parking lot. That too was well maintained and well lit. Best of all the attached restaurant Magleby's is fantastic. We were famished. the chicken Caesar salad and turkey avocado sandwich were the best. Salad's chicken was warm and came in a separate container. Parmesan crisps and homemade dressing were delicious. Sandwich was piled high turkey, perfectly ripe avocado and came with the best battered French fries. Great place to stay for humans and doggies in St George, Utah!!!! read more

This location is clean and conveniently located. They have reasonable prices and serve a complimentary breakfast for guests. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I've had rooms upstairs and on the main floor. The walkout patio could be nice if you had a way to lock the sliding door on your way out. I would recommend this location for a quick stay, or business trip. My company has a corporate account for room rates with is nice to have set up. read more

I loved this lovely Inn. This was a great value for the money. Included was a pool in a tropical setting with Palm Trees and Magnolia trees surround the pool. They serve a buffet breakfast that includes waffles that you make yourself, and eggs and sausage, etc. The room was spacious with wonderful beds that were good for my back. Wow. This is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed, and overpriced at that. Pulled a huge glob of hair out of the shower drain, towels were military grade with obvious stains, carpet was wrinkled and dirty, staff was unprofessional, microwave sounded like a Boeing 747, beds were soft (and not in a good way), pool was cloudy and couldn't see the bottom, kids running around the lobby as if they were living there, "Grab and Go" breakfast consisted of one banana each. The redeeming qualities are the better than usual free breakfast, very friendly staff, and little balcony/patio area off each room to get fresh air. The room however was very disappointing after reading reviews on Trip Advisor. How does this place have 4.5 (out of 5) stars on Trip Advisor? I could not tell you. When we arrived to our room (151) the AC unit was making a horrible noise. I called the front desk right away because we would not have been able to sleep with that sound and it is much too hot outside to open the patio door for the night (plus, scary!), and they moved us to another room. When we walked in the 2nd room it was hot and the AC was not on and it smelled like it hadn't been on in days, very stuffy. I was worried this unit was going to make too much noise as well, as it looked very old. As it turned out it was a little more noisy than normal, but tolerable. At least it cooled the room down quickly. But the place is just in very serious need of an update. Like, demolish and build a new building kind of update. The bathroom was updated and clean but the rest of the room looks and feels straight out of the 80's. read more

This is my favorite place to stay when I go to St.George. I love the balcony and the ability to go out and have fresh air. They always clean the location and the staff was great. They do need to fix the spa up, the jets didn't work, but it was still nice to relax. They're still giving a grab n go breakfast even though most hotels offer hot breakfast now, I think this is just the owners trying to save money. The washer and dryer is cheap to use and there's plenty of vending available however way over priced. I would definitely stay here again and again. read more

I was in Las Vegas and it was 10:30 PM Pacific Time. Room rates were low there, but I had to get up early to go to SLC in the morning, so I looked for rooms in Mesquite and Saint George that were on my way. I did not know how horrible this place was, and they had a good rate, so I booked it. I HAD AN AGREED TO RESERVATION WITH THIS HOTEL! I drove the 120 miles and arrived at this horrible place at 2:00 AM. When I arrived, the front desk genius told me that my reservation had been cancelled, and that I could get a room there for $70 more than the agreed upon price. THAT IS RIGHT!!!! I explained to this guy that I had an agreed upon reservation, and that I had just drove 120 miles based on that agreement. He said they could not give me a room at the agreed upon price, and that they would give me a room at the $70 higher price. It was now 2:00AM in Saint George, and I had nowhere to stay. I messaged Hotwire, and they were flummoxed. They called the front desk, and the front desk held its ground. This is as bad as review can get. I am sure there are others that are as equally as bad. I guess I didn't get shot or robbed, but other than that, this is pretty bad. I explained that I would write a terrible review about my experience to the front desk person. The front desk people were nice and helpful. But the sheets and comforters don't get change as supposed. The sheets look wrinkly, and I found a big yellow puke-like stain on the comforter. The Crystal Inn is old and outdated. I walked into my room and it smelled old and musty. After opening up the room that seemed to help a little. The AC help a little as well, but in the end the room is old and musty. There are very few outlets and none near the side of the bed I sleep on, so I have all my stuff plugged in on the other side of the bed. The plug in that they do have on my side of the bed has a cord that is too short to reach the outlet. The same with the alarm clock. Oh, why don't you move those to the other side - you can't, their fasted where they sit. The TV is nice - LCD and lots of channels. The bed is hard a lumpy. I know how can that be, just lay on it and you'll find out. For the price I paid for this room, the accommodations would have been better, I guess I should have read more of the yelp reviews before I booked. Lesson learned. According to the website they have their famous Pancakes and French Toast every morning and I was hoping this would be the case, but it was not. Generic, hotel fare scrambled eggs biscuits and watery pepper gravy. A note for all those 6' 3" and taller, watch where you walk because the exits signs are at the perfect height to clock you in the head if you accidentally walk under them. read more

This is definitely the best kept secret in St. George, Utah. The room was very clean and the hotel is very qaint with an air of sophistication. The staff is AWESOME! We had a problem with the DirecTV when we arrived and the night front desk person Randy came up immediately to resolve the situation. The breakfast was good...DYI breakfast burritos and TANG!! Man, the memories that ice cold Tang brought back. The actual hotel is very well designed with the outdoor pool is showcased in a horse shoe configuration. Each room facing the pool at has a small balcony with the bottom rooms having a patio with chairs. I only wish we had time to take advantage of the hotel amenities. This was truly an oasis. I felt really uncomfortable staying here for one night while driving through Utah in late August. Reception and housekeeping didn't wear masks despite the pandemic, so we cut our stay to one night. I would have thought Wyndham would be more careful with its staff and guests. The hotel was crowded with most guests not in masks. This was a challenge at the very appealing swimming pool, that steadily crowded with children and maskless parents through the morning. We swam early and ultimately left because people were not distancing. We won't be staying another night, or patronizing Wyndham properties in future. The included breakfast was a granola bar and water bottle. Room service from the attached restaurant was ok but the salad inedible. The room was dated, worn, and not very clean, but the bed was comfortable. All in all, stressful and disappointing. read more

We have been staying at the Desert Garden Inn in St George for a number of years. Last year (2021) we noticed that service was not what it had been, but chalked it up to Covid. We recently stayed in the Inn for four days. During that time our room was never cleaned, clean towels were not offered, and we had to ask for toilet paper. We liked to stay at the Inn because the pool area was so inviting. This week, in the four days that we stayed, the pool was never cleaned. The pool was DIRTY! This our 2nd time staying here and we pick it mainly for the location and pool. Our kids have a great time and the rooms are ok. The management did what they could to make sure we were comfortable. They did allow us to switch our room because we had a dog barking in the room next to us. I have a dog myself, but I found someone to watch her while we were gone. I understand that the not everyone can do that, but please don't let your dog bark for 40 minutes while you are down at breakfast. I do appreciate that the hotel staff would not allow dogs in the breakfast area, but maybe they could encourage the groups with dogs to eat at the outside seating areas. read more

We have stayed at this property many times over the last 40 years, since its original name of Hilton. Until now, we have loved staying here and enjoying the large pool and nice, enclosed surrounding garden area. But the whole property is now in dire need of upgrading and maintenance improvements. The pool area and lounges were dirty, old and worn. Our room needed new carpet, new sheer curtains, paint and several other updates. The rate they charged us has gone up substantially, and is comparable to that of much nicer hotels. We will not return unless vast improvements are made. read more

We had two rooms and both were in desperate need of a deep clean or good dusting. Baseboards, top of hair dryer, edge of carpets, etc, had thick dust. We lost something and were looking behind furniture only to find food and garbage including pop cans The tubs need a thorough bleaching. Water pressure was low and the water didn't get very hot. Walls thin. The pool while from a distance looks nice, needs some serious repair to tiles and the pool decking. I left my FAVORITE leggings in a garbage bin next to my bed for dirty clothes and forgot to say no house keeping before leaving for the day on thanksgiving. Panicking I ran to the front desk and asked Jillian to help me and she looked everywhere she could think of and then she said let's go look in the big dumpsters out back.. this girl got all the way in both dumpsters and went through EVERY single bag until we found my leggings! We LOVE this place!! Our first room had a slight smell (i think it was a room that had a pet previously). Our second room was perfect! There's a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. They offer free continental breakfast that's basic. The staff are extremely friendly and very helpful! The hotel store had everything we needed including swim diapers. We choose this hotel because of the pool and it's pool area is absolutely perfect! Beautiful, comfortable seating, great chill music, and the water temperature was perfection. This hotel is horrible. As soon as we got in our room there was a dead cockroach on the bathroom floor. The pool is not kept clean with chlorine, but salt. They hotel provides the guest with pool towels (for the pool guest) but they are gone.. None of the staff pick them up or replenish them. The pool area never gets sprayed or washed. I see split beer, alcohol etc., the next day. They deliver soggy waffles by knocking on your door and dropping at 730 am in a box (due to COVID) and this is their breakfast. Then just do dry breakfast... The last day I opened my delivered box and the waffles were green. My room never got cleaned, only by calling the front desk to tell them it did not, and then we had a dirty comforter and sheets after. I have pictures of all of this. read more

Looks beautiful from the front view. Arrived for our first visit to St. George on a Friday night. Paid a little extra to have a pool access room with table and chairs so we had easy access with our toddler and a place to eat. When we checked in, we were told the door (right outside our room) was not always reliable for taking the key card and had to use an entrance on the other end of the hallway. There also was no crib as requested in the booking. It was a pack and play (very different!) There were maintenance workers outside our balcony door and power tools left on the concrete outside our door and a piece of a gate propped up against the side. Within 5 minutes of letting my toddler run around in the room, his feet were covered in black dirt. We put down a mat we brought (thankfully) and proceeded with our stay. Saturday morning we left for and hour and a half for breakfast. When we returned, we turned our do not disturb sign on for 20 minutes to get ready for the pool. We returned another hour later and turned our sign to do not disturb for another half hour to change and shower. We remained in the room for most of the day with the maid service requested sign showing. I called for more towels since we had a wedding to attend and needed to get ready. I was told they would be around. An hour later we found a housekeeping person and got towels from them in the hallway. All the time, the maintenance people were outside using the table to paint the gates and take apart a planter outside our balcony door. The wind picked up and the piece of the gate that was propped outside our door had fallen on the chair outside as well. Luckily we were not out there. We had to eat lunch on the bed since our table was being occupied. (Magleby's -the hotel food source- was a complete waste of money too!) We left for the wedding and returned about 4 hours later to a room that was still not cleaned. We made due for the rest of the night and were greeted with a 7am wake up with the maintenance crew again outside our balcony. When I mentioned it to the front desk during checkout the response was "oh, sorry... that's our best room..." It wasn't until I got back home that I saw they charged us $199 a night rather than the $139 we booked it for. DEFINITELY wouldn't recommend wasting your money here! read more

Friendly staff, convenient parking, clean hotel with a nice pool and great rates. The only issue I had was being in a pool facing room can be somewhat loud. People were in the pool pretty late at night and the noise-levels were high. Other than that I am happy with the room and location. There is also a restaurant in the hotel and fast wifi with a fridge in the room. I was here on business travel but this is definitely a great spot for families as the rooms are spacious. Also a great choice for those traveling to other cities that need an overnight rest as this place is right off the I-15. read more

Room was clean and so was the bathroom. They allow dogs, which is why we chose this hotel. I wish we would have time to check out the sauna and play tennis. The tennis courts were nice and well-kept. Front desk staff was nice and courteous. Very friendly and they wanted our stay to be enjoyable. The breakfast was nice. They have a bit of a confusing setup but otherwise, very good. This was the first time we've stayed here and the reason was that most of the other hotels were booked. This wasn't a bad hotel, but there is NO way this place should be rated as a 3-star hotel. I would say it's more like a 2-star. PROS: The staff was very nice and accomodating, the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the shower water pressure was good. CONS: The walls were so thin that I could hear the people next door typing on the computers (enter sarcasm here). The bathroom was tiny, and the "gym" was a joke; the room was so tiny that you could barely get by someone to get to a machine. The machines were so run down that I actually smelled smoke while I was on the elliptical. I thought I was doing a Flintstones impression. Finally, I know the hotel can't control its guests, but I've NEVER experienced such rude people before. Apparently, if some people are up, they figure everyone should be and start having "outside voice" conversations right in the friggin' hallways. I will not be staying in this hotel again! read more

We had an enjoyable two night stay in late August at the family friendly Crystal Inn. We found a good weekend rate on Hotwire and thought we got great value for this rate. The location is convenient to the 15 but still isolated far enough from Bluff St. to not be distracted from the traffic. Check in was easy and the room was spacious. There's plenty of convenient parking and we never had to walk far to the car. In the lobby, there's complimentary coffee and newspapers. Internet is free and we had no issues with the servicing of the room. The AC unit was a little too loud for our liking and the there was an odor throughout the hotel termed as "old people" by my daughter? They were doing some construction/repair in the front of the hotel which was kind of an eye sore as we came and went. The biggest positives of the inn were the free breakfast and the pool. The breakfast is standard eggs, bacon, sausage, breads, and cereal. But not having to pay for breakfast for 5 for two mornings in a row saved me at least a C note. Angel Inn boasts that their outdoor pool in the courtyard is the best in St. George and they might be right. The kids got full usage of the pool which is open until 10 PM and that's all they talked about on the ride home from Zion. We'll be checking the rates at Crystal Inn first if we decide to stay in St. George again. read more

This review is of our hotel room and the breakfast buffet. We did not take advantage of the pool, gym, or steam room. We stayed here Presidents' Day weekend, booking a room in advance, because my boyfriend had enjoyed other hotels within this chain. We were both disappointed and felt that we had overpaid by 40%. This is not a 3-star hotel, more like a 2 or 2.5 star hotel. It was slightly better than the run-down motel we had stayed in Lava Hot Springs, Idaho. Everything in the room was old and the furniture didn't seem to match. It looked like the 90's never left. The bed was comfortable, the pillows had substance, the shower water pressure was good, and the place was clean. However, we paid $133 (which includes tax) for a king bedroom and felt that we could have gotten something comparable or better for $80. The breakfast buffet was okay. I don't expect a top-notch meal when it's complimentary, but some of the items delivered and some didn't. The waffle was surprisingly good. Some other hotels I've stayed at had rubbery waffles, but this tasted like a homemade waffle. The breakfast potatoes were disappointing, they weren't blanched before being sautéed so many chunks were undercooked. I want to make clear that the staff was very friendly and helpful despite the many soccer team children and tourists. We will probably choose a bed and breakfast next time. read more
