Maddie is a real winner! Ha I'm joking on that one too. I think I might start making it a habit to walk in at 8:55 every night and go for the longest 20 minute bed taking my time as I have every right to. When the first thing out of her mouth was we close in five minutes I then said I oh, I guess I'll go for five minutes which I was totally joking, thinking that she would know goes for five minutes when they already have a good base tan...It does nothing. But I guess ya can't assume someone has a sense of humor let alone a brain these days cuz that's what she put me in for. Even after I said, no I don't want a silver, but that the gold makes more sense cuz 12 minutes is less than the full 20 in the silver( just trying to hurry and help them out) . Just to be sure we were on the same page I called once I got in the bed and talked to Maddie. She said that she could not stop the bed when it's already started and after five minutes was up, she would not add another seven, but that they were closed, she got off the phone with me and turned the machine off after only three minutes of being in there. And then standing in the room, not dressed yet, but wanting to confirm that's what was really happening, I said something thru the door and her response was not only that she's not going to turn it back on but also that's she's gonna have to ask me to leave. She was horribly rude. I know that I wouldn't want somebody like this working for me!! Pick your people better desert sun!! I just hope you guys do the right thing and give me a credit for that 3 minute unpleasant experience. If you do want costumers to be out of the store before then, then close your doors earlier, cuz I was not out of line here, she was!! read more

It was brought to my attention by my fiancé that the services that your company provides wasn't provided to standards, not only the standards weren't met but the spray tan didn't take, at all. After coming back for a second attempt for a spray tan, your associate informed my fiancé that other clients of yours had the same experience (with the spray tan not taking still). I'm not one to carry on with complaining or making a bid deal out of a $30 spray tan, but then your company offered her $88.00 deal to have until unlimited tanning up until Nov 13 in any bed that your company has available (Stated by current Manager), my fiancé found that to be untrue, your company only provides unlimited tanning in only one of your beds. Due to the experiences that your company has provided I'd like to request refund please, it's unfortunate to have such an experience has we did from your company, my fiancé has been looking for a new place to tan/spray tan regularly. I'm aware it has been difficult times and I'm not trying to take something we haven't paid for, I'd would like my money back for the services we didn't get or haven't received. -Thank you Josh 1st Responds: My fiancé went twice for a spray tan, both times the spray tan didn't stick. Company won't credit back spray tan even after admitting that there spray tan machine hasn't been working even. To me, that's bad business and deserves a bad review. I showed up 11 minutes before they close and their doors were locked and they turned off their signs. The girls were inside working still...I get that it's cutting it pretty close by showing up to tan shortly before closing but what's the point of saying you're open until 10pm if you're locking your doors and turning your lights off? I work until late and that's the only time I could make it. Things like this make me question why i'm paying them over $120/mo. This isn't the first time this has happened either. It's the 4th time in 3 months which is why i'm finally writing this. Probably should have done it sooner. Yuck. Just yuck. read more

Subpar to say the least. I asked for a bed with fresh bulbs she replied that all beds had good bulbs. Not what I asked. Surely one bed has fresher bulbs right? Parking lot is too small and tight. Go to Lakewood instead .. the manger is on it there. The beds here look run down and employees could be better. read more

I would just like to point out, I've been to 3 different different dessert tan salons in my area. The 1 in puyallup by the Safeway, is by far the best. The girls in their are extremely nice and very engaging. They make you feel like you belong. I didn't get that from any other salonsin my area. read more

I have only been here but two times and have loved my experience so far. The two wonderful ladies that checked me in during my visits were so helpful and happy to explain what I needed to do for my spray tan. Not only did they go above and beyond to make sure I was happy but they made sure to explain to me pre and post procedures to ensure my spray tan lasted and was even. I purchased 25 tans for $250 a year ago and they told me that they never expire and I could use them at ANY Desert Sun. I have 16 tans left so I went in the other day to use them and they told me that I had purchased them at a Desert Sun that went out of buisness so now I can't use them unless I want to pay $4/tan for a "crosstan fee" (which ends up being another $64 to pay on top of what I already paid! Then they also have this fingerprint machine and I refused to start using it since I purchased my tans before that. They then told me I could not use tans I already paid for if I didn't want to use their fingerprint machine to show my identity. Really?You need my fingerprints in order to know my identity so I can tan? Thanks but I'll take my buisness elsewhere. read more

so as far as the girls that wrk there i have no complaints. As far as the tanning beds and how clean they r no complaints. Love the Med stand up. Only complaint i would have is there prices. spendy but the beds r nice. Only complaint is couple times been there have seen a older lady in there arguing with people on the phone...makes u feel like ur walking into a soap sometimes. awkward read more

Love this location! It's always so upbeat here and the staff is amazing. Especially their manager Caitlynn. She always makes sure to go out of her way with any questions and making sure I have everything I need. Definitely has the best advice for the nicest looking tan the quickest way possible. I have been a customer at this location for many years, although I have gone to other Desert Sun salons, I prefer this one. The store is clean & I never have to wait to long for a bed. The staff appears knowledgeable & always helps me pick the best product for my needs. I had to get help from the manager the other day & she was so helpful! Money grubbing company - beware!!!!!! This is my 2nd bad experience with a local desert sun.... Never again. First time I had an account with almost 40 spray tans purchased ( got a great deal) which were all purchased through desert sun, that salon changed their name and within about 6 months went out of business leaving all their customers, and even packages purchased under desert sun would not be honored. Huge loss. 3 years later I finally got the nerve to try them again when they put out a deal on living social 5 mystic tans for $39. Now most tanning packages are good for a year, apparently, this one was only 60 days from first use. I used one earlier in the year, and when I went in today they tell me it's going to be $32 for one spray tan. Apparently my "promotional" tans expired in what they say was April, even though I pulled up my living social account showing it was mid march when it was redeemed. Regardless, they refused to let me use any of the tans , reimburse me anything, or offer any kind of compromise. They said that the 39 was basically the cost of a tan so there wasn't anything they could do. really???? If that is the cost of one tan, then why did you sell 5 for the same cost? Clearly no one in their right mind would pay almost $40 for one tan, but that is what they are sticking me for.... Beware of these guys, they will have no problem taking your money on the front end and duping you in the end with their fine print and poor customer service. Stung twice by two different locations....not a tanning salon I would recommend to anyone. read more

The manager Caitlynn is great, very knowledgeable! Clean facilities, good deals, and up to date tanning equipment. The Versa Spa spray tan booth always gets me the exact color I need to be before I head out on vacations. I highly recommend this place! read more

Just moved here from Arizona, and dont want to loose my tan yet. Went into the salon, the girl working the front desk was very friendly, but really busy. She took the time to explain all the packages, and gave me a tour! Havent had the kind of service anywhere before! Place is clean, and have alot of tanning options. I purchased 30 mediums that were to never expire from the Canyon Road Desert Sun. Since my purchase, Desert Sun was sold and has since changed names twice. First it was The Tanning Lounge and now it's Seattle Sun Tan. I recently found out that the 20 tans I had left would NOT be honored by any Desert Sun!! I am outraged that there are so many other locations and none of them will allow me to tan there. I tried to contact corporate via email and phone. A woman emailed me back simply stating she would not be able to help me. And nobody from corporate ever returned my phone calls. I am now a happy customer of LA Tan and can use my tans at ANY LA Tan location!!! Desert Sun ripped me off and I refuse to spend another dime there. read more
