We have wintered in our RV the last 5 years in Palm Desert at Emerald Desert RV Resort. But thought we needed to check other options and so many people head to AZ. Welp - AZ RV "resorts" are not our cup of tea. But we did drive through others and talked to locals to see if there were other options. All are attached to park model 55 and over communities. We do believe that Pueblo El Mirage is the best of the places to park an RV. The facilities are well taken care of. Property well maintained. People are friendly. Lots of organized activities. Bright fun lights at night. Sites are large. Sounds perfect? For us the lack of real grass, an over abundance of rock is not our personal preference. Maybe if we started here and not in Palm Desert this might have been our "norm". The location is not convenient to anything. A rather desolate location definitely doesn't help. Another knock - the golf course right next door is a poorly maintained muni at best. We played it once - won't play it again. And last but definitely not least - Luke Air Force Base is 4 miles away - you will be singing God Bless America about 40x a day. And don't worry people won't hear you. And ... you do get used to it. All that being said - it's the best the immediate area has to offer

As it's a short term spot, we did not have a picnic table, but we did notice on our walks that they appear to have some in other, lots, most likely for longer stays. We found the landscaping to be very well maintained! make sure to bring your longer cables and such as the pedestal is quite a distance from the back of the pad, however, they do have a rule that your RV must be at least 26 feet long (we are a tad longer), so hopefully your cord is long enough if you have one our size. Ours was long enough with no slack. Everything operated correctly and we really appreciated the fact they put us in a slot where we didn't have neighbors directly next to us so it was a nice quiet week. My favorite spot was the pool and my pictures simply do not do it justice because it was busy all the time with pool volleyball, water, aerobics, and such . The chairs are very comfortable and they were very attentive to ensuring everything was in order when people left. I posted the schedule for the week, but there are tons of things going on here! We did go over to the bar and grill at the golf course but it was a little awkward as you have to leave the park And then come back in, lol. It would've been a lot easier just walking over there. We didn't have time to try any of the food but we did have a glass of wine and a beer and the total was $10 so pricing is very reasonable and the bartender, Pepsi, was super friendly. They do have some type of bar and grill that they open when there are events in and around that area but nothing that was open on a regular basis It really is a large park and there are a lot of different mini communities. It seemed as it looks like they had a new section every so often. It looks like they were beginning new construction for yet another neighborhood. There are also a lot of areas to just relax and sit with a group around the fire pit or chat. We noticed there were folks sitting in circles with instruments having a jam session as well as people putting puzzles together, reading books, and just in general having fun. They seem to have a very strong social network We did order a propane refill and honestly, the guy was one of the nicest people we've ever had out for service! Super easy we called the day before and they swing through the neighborhood and fill at the appropriate time assigned There is some noise from nearby, Luke Air Force Base, so just be prepared for that All in all, we had a really nice experience, and would definitely return! Everyone was really friendly to us.

NIGHTMARE. Rented for four months through the summer. Paid in advance through LISA on VRBO over…read more$7500.00 while awaiting my home build, and Lisa who was the owners daughter was being a Virtual property manager for 572. These people are beyond wicked. You would think a retirement place mostly vacant would be peaceful. WRONG. NOISY and NOSY AF. Security gate was whacked. Would not give me my pass for the entire stay made me come back over and over to extend my Pass for a few weeks at a time when I paid the four months rent in advance. All the old men are pervs. The old ladies are mean and hateful. Golf carts beeping and creeping all day past your unit spying. My Video camera out back caught at least 3 people creeping on my back door. Next door (Carrie and Bob) started intentionally banging and dragging furniture every morning at 5:45am until 6:30am spitefully to wake you up. Reporting it did nothing as they did not call me back until a few weeks later after I handled it by posting a sign out back telling them they were on video. Then it stopped immediately but they were caught on cam. However, they trespassed non stop and crumpled up my note to them throwing on the step all mad because they were being told to honor QUIET TIME 10pm to 7am. All these people here are FEEBLE and MEAN except some of the old men who are actually just dirty old men....One even tried to come in to 'change my ac filter' when it could have been done prior to check in. HE WAS TOLD NO. Caught one of the old coots at the pool videotaping me on camera phone while he obviously wore ear buds and kept his phone on a float to do so. I got out and video taped him also and he took off running. Last night of my stay some crazy old lady tried to break into the unit and throw me out saying she was there to clean....8pm at night screaming at the bottom of the stairs when my check out was next day. She was drunk and smoking like a lunatic for sure off her meds. Then the Property manager accused me of damage when I had already photographed the home and video taped it for VRBO because when I told the old lady hag to get off my steps or I was calling the police, I knew she would try to fraud me. Well VRBO got involved and I got a refund for one night and my cleaning fee because I cleaned the house myself. The security golf carts follow you everywhere you go even if you go to the POST OFFICE you will see a line of carts following you around. IT IS BIZARRE. They hate renters and you will be PREY. The place is a dump full of aluminum death traps that any big storm would demolish and the shards of glass and aluminum would slice you into pieces. This slow income housing for those that failed at life and have no other place to go. Stay away because you will have NO PRIVACY and be creeped on non stop. No reply to my complaint to Management at Happy Trails either

Before writing this review, I need to give some information about us and our trailer, which is…read moresomething Scott and Duke at Paradise RV did not afford us the opportunity to do. We are full-time mobile living in a fully self-contained off-road RV trailer (kimberley kamper). Our camper has no black tank and has a composting toilet. We had to come back to Phoenix for a funeral and to move things to and from our storage unit that is right around the corner from this RV Park. We have a dog, and the temperatures are still in the low 100s, so needless to say, we needed 30 amp electrical hookup to run our AC efficiently. We originally planned to stay nearby at the Sunflower RV Resort (where we stayed in April 2023), but their office was closed for lunch. While waiting, we called Paradise RV Resort to see if they have any open spaces. They did, and they were $200 less for the two weeks we planned to stay. So we decided to go over to check out their facilities. We had already talked to Janet on the phone and told her we had previously stayed at the Sunflower RV Resort but thought we may try their location while in town. We looked around at the amenities and our potential site they were going to assign to us, and it seemed very similar to Sunflower RV park, just a little older. When we returned to the office with the intention of staying there, we were immediately confronted by Duke (in the front office), basically accusing us of trying to sneak in a trailer that they don't accept. He said we couldn't stay there because "we are not self-contained." We said we are the epitome of self-contained and were wondering how he drew that conclusion. He asked if we had a black tank, and we said no, we have a composting toilet but do need grey water hook-ups in addition to the water. He said exactly, "That's why we don't take trailers like yours." He added that he called Sunflower RV Park, and they won't take us either. We asked him if he was calling us a liar about staying there earlier this year, and he stammered around the question. So basically, he not only was calling us a liar, but he was trying to keep us from having an alternative place to stay. We asked to speak to his manager, who ended up being Scott. Turns out Scott had seen our truck and trailer outside when we first arrived and assumed we were a homemade trailer and didn't want us at his facility. Instead of asking us some basic questions or looking at our trailer for himself, he apparently sicked his dog (Duke) on us to get rid of us. Our trailer is an Australian made overland trailer shipped to a dealer in the US before being delivered to US customers. In the end, Scott apologized and kinda handled the situation professionally and invited us to stay. But with the unwelcoming mat that was laid out for us, we chose not to stay at Paradise RV. We subsequently returned to The Sunflower RV Resort, where we knew it was nice. They looked at our trailer and welcomed us back with friendly smiles. We do not recommend anyone to stay or have to deal with Paradise RV Resort, but we do recommend going down the street to the newer RV park, Sunflower RV Resort. I also feel that both Scott and Duke would benefit from some needed customer service training. They desperately need it.

Stayed at Destiny RV Resort in Phoenix and honestly it was a really bad experience…read more The RV spots are set up poorly. When you park and set everything up, the next person's septic hookup is literally right by your picnic table and grill, like a couple feet away. You can smell it, especially when it gets hot, and it's pretty nasty. The pool is overloaded with chlorine and most of the lights don't even work. I'd say around 70% of the lights are out, including the ones inside the pool, so it just feels poorly maintained. The bathrooms look like they haven't been updated in decades. Everything is worn down and cheap. Even something basic like a toilet paper holder isn't there, the roll just sits on a rail leaning against the wall. The dump area smells terrible, like rotting waste, and overall a lot of the park smells like cigarettes and septic. For $112 a night, it's honestly not worth it at all. This place feels like a 1 star at best and I definitely won't be coming back. Only positive thing I can say is the security guy was really nice.

Super friendly and made the late check-in smooth and easy -- definitely appreciated that. The next morning, we officially checked in at the front office. The staff was helpful, but not particularly warm or welcoming. We were also required to leave a $20 deposit for a key to access the onsite facilities (pool, gym, laundry, bathrooms), which felt a little odd. That said, the facilities were in great shape. The bathrooms were clean and spacious, and the pool was heated -- always a nice bonus. While we didn't use the laundry room, it looked well-equipped with plenty of machines. They also offer propane fill-ups, which is convenient. Our pull-thru site was paved, flat, and had well-placed hookups. The presence of fruit trees gave the grounds a bit of charm -- definitely a step up from the typical open-lot feel. The campground was well-maintained and tidy throughout our stay. It was also very quiet. We barely saw or interacted with other guests, so if you're looking for a sense of RV community or camp camaraderie, this probably isn't the spot. Night lighting was minimal -- a plus for ambiance and stargazing. Location-wise, it's solid. About 25 minutes to downtown Phoenix, and only 10 minutes to most major stores and conveniences. Being just a little off the highway made it easy to get around the area. Here's the rub: for what it is, the park felt overpriced. At $76/night, it's steep -- especially for those of us under 55, since many RV parks in the Phoenix area cater to 55+ only. We stayed just a few weeks and it added up quickly. When we let the office know we'd be leaving a day early, there was no refund, despite the park being only about half full. We were given the usual "we have reservations" response, but it felt like a missed opportunity for better service. Overall: *Clean and quiet *Good location *Nice amenities *Not much community *On the pricey side *No refund flexibility If they offered a weekly rate or trimmed down the nightly price, it'd be easier to recommend. But with limited RV options in the area, your hands might be tied.
