I'm really surprised with the number of negative reviews for Desi Movers. I have used their service since 2009 and have never had single issue with them. In fact I have referred Desi Movers to a number of my friends and family...and I can't speak for them, but they have never told me of any problems incurred when working with them. Jagmohan and his a crew are very sweet people, who took a lot of care with my belongings. I know that a couple members of a his crew do not speak English well-but Jagmohan was able to communicate and delegate tasks to everyone. And I've never have a had a broken or damaged item. He's very reasonably priced...and i would continue to recommend him to others. Also-to those who talked about tardiness-one move where he was late for me (as incredibly frustrating that was)-he re-negotiated the price. I have moved several times in the past including corporate/professional moves. This was by far the easiest one with DesiMovers. I needed reliable movers who could handle a fairly large move that required true professionals. The crew of 4 arrived on time in the morning, kept very accurate track of time and promptly started loading boxes into the truck. They worked tirelessly until the truck was full. They took a short 30 min lunch break that they deducted from the total move time (what a pleasant surprise). They took care of not damaging flooring in the new home, or even a single scratch on any furniture. They moved everything exactly as we needed, and took two trips. At the end we were very pleased with the high degree of professionalism and courtesy during the entire period, given the tough nature of the work. The crew was cheerful all along, and asked us how/what/where throughout. I would also like to specially mention Mr. Jagmohan who runs the company for accommodating our last minute change of move date. He worked hard to arrange for the crew to be available so that we could move before our lease ran out. All in all, a great company! I don't recommended desi movers at all!!!! I had really bad experience with them. I was told they don't charge me if movers take break for lunch. they look break for lunch and changed for lunch break too. I was quoted for three people and only two people turned up and one person is not effective (he moves one item for 20 mins). second person was nice and did good job in moving stuff. read more

I got what I have paid for. I dont have any significant things to say negative about this service. Rate is cheaper compared to the competition. Even though they came 30 min late, its justified. I got three guys worked for me, all are nice. Work could be done bit quickly but I dont want to show that as a cause to downgrade their service. They really know what they are doing. I didnt find difficulty in their language. One guy only was able to speak English, thats good enough. The truck was VERY big. I got too much stuff, they worked well. I have given big Tip for each of the guys. They are happy. After all, its a direct human effort. They also need to eat and feed their family. We moved to Fremont from Santa Clara during the end of August and both me and my husband were really worried as it was our first move hiring movers as we had too many things and furniture to move.A friend of mine recommended desi movers and i was totally totally impressed with their work. We called them just 2 days before we scheduled the move and they readily agreed and sent a team of 4 at 6.30 in the morning. Ranjith, Naaz and two other guys formed the team.They were so helpful and careful with moving out the furniture without causing any kind of damage.They even helped us move and pack of other small things from the kitchen and bedroom.Our move went on till around 11AM and they didn't waste anytime and did the move so well by using a lot of blankets and wrap on every single item! Be it small or big. Well, the review was a long due. We used Desi movers for a move in Fremont (within 2 miles) in February. No doubt, they are fast and they are cheaper than lot other moving companies. But they are not very professional in both communication and service. The way they handled the delicate furnitures actually very scary. Thankfully nothing was broken as the distance was so short. Also, they didn't bring wardrobe boxes as I understood from the communication before, that they will bring some, so I left my clothes unpacked. There was also delay in showing up with excuse like accident as some reviewer mentioned here. They tried to make up with adding extra person and finishing the job in 2 hours, so at least they are getting 2 stars instead of one. But I will probably not use them in future move. read more

They disassemble and reassemble the furniture which is great and also pad the furniture with blankets before loading onto truck . This is my first review on Yelp but these people deserve it. I moved last week and even though I saw not very great reviews here I decided to try them based on my friend's recommendation. My new apartment is upstairs with narrow stairs. They did not mind it at all and kept a happy face all the time and moved all my stuff safely upstairs. After the entire move was done in a reasonable time and we talked about the price and they charged me based on what was already decided. However I noticed that my bed and chest needs to be moved as I did not like where it was. They spent additional 15 minutes and moved my bed and chest making sure I was happy. They did not charge me for those 15 mins. Overall great job done and they will be my movers for all my future moves. read more

They didnt get any boxes for clothes which they had said they will get when we booked them.They had said that they ll take all the art off the walls and pack them properly. Didnt happen! Theses guys were great. There was a little issue with scheduling, they over booked themselves. However when they did show up they worked extremely hard and fast. I feel that the best way to write a review is to share the exact details of your experience and I hope my detailed review will help the reader to pick the right moving service. Also I am writing this review 5 hours after the move was completed so everything is very fresh in my mind. We hired Desi Movers today to move a 4 Bedroom home we were renting in Fremont to a home I bought in Castro Valley. I called Desi Movers a week before to set it up and found that the owner JagMohan was very flexible in setting up the move date and time as per our choice. One night before the move, we were very stressed as we were quite behind in the packing so I called JagMohan on the Christmas day and left him a message. Even being a holiday, with in 30 mins I got a call and sms from him with willingness to do what ever it takes to adjust to my comfort level. After making several calls to his current clients who were set for the move on the same day as us and to prospective clients who could take my spot if he moved my slot, he came up with a time slot solution which was a win win. He even had to hire an additional truck to make things possible and to keep all his clients as per their schedule. He was not only very flexible with me but also went extra mile to make things possible. The movers came in little earlier than I had expected but he sent me a sms in advance to let me know that they may arrive little early so I was prepared. He also offered that the movers will help my wife and I in case we needed any packing which we could not finish before they arrive. 2.5 hours later, the movers had loaded the entire truck with all my stuff. They packed the furniture very well and they were very cautious about making sure nothing breaks, scratches or gets lost in the process. At that moment we still had some kitchen fragile dishes unpacked and I requested the movers to help out. Initially they were little reluctant since they did not want to take responsibility for breaking anything but when I called their boss JagMohan about this, he showed up at my house in 20 mins with some packing material to help himself. At that time the entire gang helped us to pack the entire kitchen and in 15 mins we were on our way. I told them to reach my new home while I ran down to a local restaurant to buy these guys some food since it was almost the lunch time. I was surprised that by the time I reached my new place, these guys had already unloaded half of the truck in my driveway instead of just waiting for me. Then after they quickly ate their lunch, they started loading the home. I requested them to be extra cautious and not to break, scratch anything and not to spoil my new carpet. They laid blankets all over the place and with lot of patience placed all the boxes and furniture in place. It took them total of 6 hours (including 45 mins of drive time) to complete my move and I was very impressed. I have done couple of long distance moves and almost a dozen local moves but I have never had such a smooth and calm moving experience where nothing got broken and at the same time they took just enough time to facilitate everything. I called the owner to check my total amount due and to my surprise he calculated more than a fair price for the work. I paid the boys along with tip for everyone and they happily left. If I were to use any mover in bay area again or recommend my closest family and friends I would give my full endorsement to Desi Movers. I think Jagmohan runs this company very professionally and at the same time he understands the pain and stress of his clients and tries very hard to be flexible in schedule, over time and also pricing. Last but not the least, my wife and I like to be very organized and we like to pack and unpack ourselves so we did not use Desi Movers to pack and unpack our boxes except some kitchen dishes so I can't comment on their packing and unpacking service but I feel that if you inform JagMohan your plan in advance, he should be able to accomodate those requests also. read more

Was on dot in timing as promised and started moving right away making sure the articles are carefully wrapped with blankets and wrappers to avoid scratches.
