I called them and they never showed up. I called to let them know. They apologized, but cited the rain as a factor. Not sure why it's so difficult to drive in the rain, but obviously everybody should use another company if Desoto's cars are not capable of driving in the rain. Yes, they were on time & got me to my destination. The fees appeared to accurate at $2.50 to start + $2.50/mile (this was a short trip) However the driver was less than cordial, took his time, wasn't very knowledgeable of the area (and this was a short ride) and the cab reeked of smoke. The cab was a relatively modern minivan with functional seatbelts. So, if you just need to get somewhere they performed fine. Otherwise, could be better. read more

I needed a ride to Oakland airport and a pick up a few days latter. The pickup was on time and the driver was nice as well. They had a $55.00 advertise on their site. The problem was coming back. I called the nigh before my arrival to confirm pickup at the airport, When I arrive, the taxi was not there and when I called, I was told to take one of the airport taxis. I had to pay $20.00 extra !!!!!. Not cool, I hired them for a service and they did not deliver. I was going hire them for my next trip to SFO airport but I can't hire someone who is not reliable. read more

Booked a pick-up at SFO after an international flight. They didn't show up and when I called, no one answered the phone, TWICE.

Didn't show for my ride to the airport at 4:30 AM. Had to get a ride. Tried calling to see if driver was coming and they wouldn't answer the phone. Had used before and they were okay but I was very disappointed with service (or lack of) this time. Don't use them if you really need to get to your destination on time. read more

I had a very good experience with De Soto, driving my family to and fro SFO airport. Both of our drivers, Sean and Kurt, were courteous and punctual. We went in a Chevy Suburban SUV and came back in a Toyota Sienna minivan. The cars were clean. Highly recommended. read more

Bizarrely Bad Customer Service Experience I needed a ride to BART on the earliest train on a Sunday morning to get to SFO. The cab arrived in 30 minutes rather than the 15 promised but I still had just enough time to make my train. I called the dispatcher twice to make sure the cab was still coming when it was later than promised. I got to BART with 4 minutes until the train left and the cab driver had to process my credit card manually, but I was still ok on time. Here is the bizarrely bad part; just as I was leaving to race to the train, the dispatcher drove up and for some reason now wanted to run my credit card through his machine even though the driver was finished with the manual process. The dispatcher grabbed my card over my protests about timing. I asked again for it, then asked a third time for my card to be returned so i could make my train. Then I reached over and took my card from the aggressive dispatcher as he wasn't going to give it back. At that point he looked at me and said, "Fuck you. Fuck you, bitch!" I made the train with less than a minute to spare. I'd strongly suggest you use any other cab company unless you require a "Fuck you" with your trip. This dispatcher shouldn't be working with the public. read more

I am not so sure about the other reviews but I have nothing but kudos for Desoto Pleasanton. I booked them for a 4:50am pickup service from the East Bay to the SFO airport. They promptly call me the night before to confirm as I asked them too, and the driver was waiting in front of my house at 4:45am ready to go. I also booked them for a return home a week later for a 12am midnight pickup and sure enough they were there waiting for me at the airport. Punctual and courteous drivers and dispatching service both ways. Will gladly use them again. read more

Beware! Stay away! They will do anything to try and rip you off! Taxi driver took me to the airport, and charged me $50 for a 12 minute ride. Then, I left my cell phone in the car and when I got back in town he wanted to charge me $30 to bring it to me (down the street). When I said that I didn't need it delivered and would just come pick it up at their office, he got very upset - arguing with me on the phone. I then contact the owner, Joe, and he told me where to meet him to get the phone. I arrived at the gas station and Joe and the driver were both there. Once again the driver went off, was aggressive, and called me cheap. I asked the owner, Joe, to do something about it and he said "he's right". These guys are real low life people, and had I known it would be such a big deal I'd tell them to keep the darn phone. I had insurance and could replace it for free. Geez! read more

I had a reservation for Desoto Cab to pick me up at the Marriott San Ramon at 0430 this morning. I had confirmed online the day prior. I had requested a quote to get from my hotel to the Oakland Airport. They responded with a rate of $60. I accepted the rate and asked to confirm a reservation for the next day. They asked for some information, which I provided, then emailed me a confirmation, they no-showed on me this morning. I was trying to catch a flight, and there are NO cabs hanging around the San Ramon Marriott at 0430 am. I called their number and they picked up and hung up twice. Finally on the 3rd try someone answered, and it was clear that they had not set up a taxi for me. Do yourself a favor. Do not rely on this company for your transportation If you really need to get somewhere at a specific time. I had to throw stuff away out of my suitcase so I would not have to check my bag, and could make my flight. Nice way to start the day. read more

Dublin BART Taxi riders beware - My husband & I live in Dublin and usually take cabs to and from the BART station before and after our vacations. We like the convenience that cabs are waiting there and have usually had relatively good or pleasant experiences. Last night was unimaginable. When we walked up, we had to knock on the window and she just popped the trunk for us to put our suitcases in, typically someone will come out of their vehicle to greet you or help with the bags. The trunk had bags of trash and junk aligning the bottom. It was midnight though & we just wanted to get home. What could be worse? We found out - it was the smell inside the cab! The stench was unbearable for the 10 minutes we were in the car. Then the lack professionalism really showed when we asked the amount and she said she never turned on the meter and that it was around $7. We've had some nice cab drivers and most of the cars have been relatively clean, but this was filthy and disgusting! We recommend you take the next cab if you see DeSoto in the Dublin BART station. read more

Strickly bush league and extremely unprofessional. I had made arrangements with Desoto Cab Co. by phone to transport my wife and I to the Oakland Airport for a flight to NYC and also to pick us up on our return 12 days later. Our return flight was due for arrival just before midnight. I ask the gentleman on the phone if there would be a problem with the late arrival time. He replied that it would not be an issue. He asked me for the return flight number. Confident that everything was in order I could rest easy. A cab showed up on time to take us to the terminal without a problem. On our return, our flight arrived a little early so I called Desoto Cab to let them know that we had arrived. The "gentleman" on the phone was clueless, he said he had no listing on his calendar for a pickup at the airport , and it would take an hour before someone could get out to the airport. He asked what the fare was that I paid to get to out the terminal. When I replied, he told me to get a local cab at the airport for my return and refused to send out a cab for a pickup. These irresponsible people should not be allowed to be in business with ethics like these. read more
