The servers were really sweet. We came on a Saturday afternoon and we ordered a guera and a desvelado. The food was nice and hot but the flavor was really off. For the price of each taco you'd except at the very least quality meat but it was very grainy and the seasoning was more on the sour sweet side which isn't what you expect when eating tacos. We were hungry after a long drive and of course it was edible so we ate we just won't be going back. The vibe of the restaurant was more of a modern Chicano vibe I'd say. They have nice posters and interesting decor using wine bottles. Servers were great. Food came out quick. The restaurant was clean but outside of the restaurant smelled like pee which was pretty gross and we held our breath. There is a good amount of homeless population in this area which is why we think it smelled like urine a lot. Overall 3 stars because of great servers and fast service but the food was lacking and the outside smell of the building was a huge turn off.

Stopped by with my wife for a quick drink. We both ordered the "chapulín" - agave wine with agua de Jamaica, citrus, tajin, chamoy, and tarugo. The music and art give this place an awesome vibe. Came for dinner with a group of 12 of us and they were great with service and speed was great! Make sure to order the horchata and tacos are great! We had Ashley as a server and she was on top of everything and kept our drinks full! We will be back when we have everyone in town again! Highly recommend if you want some good authentic Mexican food and good drink choices!

I tried this place recently when was passing through Pasadena. As a vegetarian, it's not always easy to find good Mexican restaurants on the trip. Therefore when I found it through social media, I wanted to try this place. I should say the food was above expectations. Tried their vegetarian guac, beans version of flautas desveladas (no meat) and it turned out to be really good. Portion size is decent as well. We also try vegetarian quesadilla and that was good combination of crunchy+ soft filling. We couldn't finish the large quantity of quesadillas and were able to get those as to-go. Will definitely try their other vegetarian items.. For most they are able to substitute meat with beans, so that gives good variety.

Been following Tacos Los Desvelados on Instagram for a bit, so I wanted to check it out since I was craving Mexican food and wasn't in the mood to drive out to my usual street taco go-tos. The food was...fine? I was expecting great tacos, but it was only good. Asada and al pastor did not light it up for me, pretty pedestrian. The cabeza was the only thing that was great. I decided to get the Tijuana-style tacos, which were $5.99 each. Given the food being alright and how much the food was, I can't help but say I was a bit let down. Service was fine, no complaints from me. Their social media guy does a great job, because they sure make the food look good. I get prices being higher, which I can accept because it's a brick and mortar. But the meat just doesn't compare to other taco places I've been to.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Tacos Los Desvelados - Pasadena location. i was in a city for a business meeting and when my coleague informed ame about this, i was like " hey i have already been to their Maywood location so I know this chain'. when I searched it has many outlets in LA and I was already been to their Maywood location so i knew i would get a good food here. Needless to say - cool ambiance, its "Mehico folks" We ordered Micheladas (a Mexican drink with beer and other spices- tangy taste- great) Gringa- Tortillas with Shrimp , sauce, peppers and cheese - Superb! these guys know what they are cooking! Charola Botenera: shrimp with fries and 3 diff type of sauces Ambiance: The restaurant's décor giving the vibe of Mexican charm, vibrant colors and traditional motifs. The seating was comfortable, and the attentive staff added to the overall positive dining experience. Price: Value for Money- Considering the quality of food, portion sizes, and the overall dining experience, restaurant offers great value for money. Service: I talked to their manager (i guess name was Chris, sorry i forgot) - he was jolly and we talked on Mexican dishes. Service was good and ashley took good care of us. Definitely recommended !!

Mango margarita hit the spot after a 14 mile bike ride, the chilaquiles were delicious highly recommend this place, also split a taco they're HUGE made with homemade corn tortillas our waitress Ashley was attentive & took great care of us! I'll be back to try other dishes for sure! read more

Came in on a Friday Afternoon. Self seating, good space. Great vibe -- CLEAN, bright, music playing and welcomed when we walked in. We got a few items including the Taco Callejero, Taco Sonora, and Quesa Tacos (and although Birria was not on the menu our waitress Ashley, let me know they could make them) *chefs kiss* I requested a drink that was light, and recommended the "no seas naca" mango margarita, really good and not too heavy on the liquor or mix blend. The horchata was pretty decent and served in a BIG cup so worth the 6 dollars you're paying for it. Very pleased with the taste, the customer service and will be coming back read more

A lot of service reviews based on one star I felt is justified. Thank you Giselle for Being nice ! Tacos..... probably the best tacos I've ever had!! We came here at 7:30 on a Sunday night! Good crowd, busy but not too much, waiting time is not so long at all. We ordered the shrimp tray! The best grill shrimps I ever had, delicious flavor blends with crunch texture and some burnt! Bomb!!! The fries is also good! Thick wavy cut, crunchy. Food was okay, , the service was terrible I had to walk inside to ask for the menus after waiting almost 10 minutes even though they served people across from us, nor did they ever check on us once we got our food. When you walk in, you're first hit with the wonderful industrial decor... the brick walls, the bottle lights, everything has a kind of New York SOHO vibe.. and yet they serve the most authentic-tasting Mexican food I've had in a long time... I had the selection of the three tacos... pastor, asada, and lengua.... I have tried this place before and didn't like. Decided to try the new location to give it a fair review and here it is. The food I believe is over priced for both quantity and quality. It nothing to really get excited about. I ordered a pastor burrito, carnitas burrito and quesadilla burrito. To my surprise the burritos were not labeled so I had to open them up to see what was what. The meat doesn't have a lot of flavor and the burrito was flat and didn't really hold its shape. They slabbed on some guac on both ends with nothing in the middle. The sauce is too watery and holds no spice either. Also I had tried to order asada meat but they said they had run out. When I came to pick up my order someone ordered asada meat. I asked them about it and they said "at the time they didn't have it but now they do. read more

I am not going to say I didn't like it, because that would be an absolute lie, what I am going to say is that they had so much to choose from I wish I could have chosen one of each. The food was good. Loved the art on the walls, the waitresses were funny and very approachable. They would come talk to us as if they had known us for years. Felt like family to be honest, very welcoming. Sad to say I got full too quickly next time I'll skip the michelada cuz that's what filled me up and try more of their food selections. Sometimes I visit a place that's hard to give a definite grade to. This is one of those places. They get some things right and need to work on others. It's good but... The best way to review this is with a positive and negative list. The Bad: It took 40 min to get our food on Saturday at 6pm. The al pastor was tasteless pork. Not great. Dining room was stuffy and too loud The Good: The asada was delicious, esp on the handmade tortillas. The regular michelada was super tasty Generous portions, very generous. Parking is easy with street and lot parking. Indoor and outdoor dining is available. Overall the attempt was solid but with the al pastor being such a let down and the food taking so long to come out, I cannot wholeheartedly recommend this spot. read more

I am really disappointed Desvalados because your food is delicious. I order dinner tonight and one of the items was a Shrimp PacMan Mulita. As i was chewing it I felt something hard and almost broke my tooth as I bit into a piece of metal. A gear that fell from something in the kitchen. See picture. I called the restaurant to report it and was told to call back two hours later when a manager is available. Seriously? What about getting a refund? This is not cool. Everyone got grossed out and stopped eating. We are now making eggs for dinner. read more

I came around noon and it wasn't too busy. I ordered the large asada taco & desvelado. The asada taco was very filling and larger then expected, the tortilla was a little crumbly. We came here last week and absolutely enjoyed the food, so we decided to come here and we just ordered tons of food to try out their different dishes. I started with the Mango Margarita, which was a 10/10 For food, we ordered: 1) La Godzilla Quesadilla - a massive quesadilla filled with asada, cheese, and guacamole 2) El Ranchero Roll - a burrito cut up sushi-style filled with asada, cheese, beans, rice 3) A quesa-taco de asada 4) A Sonora taco de asada with a stuffed bell pepper on top The food was amazing, and we were both full at the end. 10 out of 10, would recommend. I got the Al pastor nachos and they were really bomb the meat was tender and the fries were very crispy . I also got the michelada it had a cocktail shrimp around the michelada, the michelada was really good I recommend it with modelo negra for an awesome taste . The service was great she immediately took our order and came a couple of times to see if we needed anything. Definitely will be coming back I have a first time great experience. read more

Me and the wife just bought a house nearby. We drove past this really flashy taco spot and figured we must give it a try! Boy are we glad we came by. This was by far our most greatest Mexican cuisine experience. Atmosphere was popping, drinks were bomb, service was great, and the flautas were extra crunchy. It was neatly packaged and plenty of toppings, along with some salsa on the side. When I finally got around to eating the tacos, it was very tasty and there was a nice crisp to the Ensenada style tacos. I definitely cheer for places like this, and I tend to score a little higher only because I feel like there needs to be more places like this around. Not only that, but they have a pretty extensive menu, but I really just came here specifically for the fish tacos on this visit.

The food was substandard. In So Cal, we have tons of choices for this sort of food and desserts. We made the trip to Pasadena because of our experience with Nana's in Hawaii. After the ordering process, the 4 desserts we ordered took a very long time to prepare. Our situation was not unique. Many people before and after us had long faces and watched as others finally got their food. We had two lattes, a matcha soft serve and a parfait. All but soft serve were overflowing and dripping out of their cups/glasses as soon as we touched them. Despite the lattes chocolate syrups, milk and whipped cream - they somehow managed to be watery and lack taste. As for the hojicha parfait, the design of the glass was not user friendly. They are tall and narrow. Because everything was packed too tightly, it was impossible to get a spoon into the glass without things coming out of it. It was a chore and unpleasurable. I understand that using cereal is a thing for these desserts. IMO this is a very cheap and low end ingredient for something with a perceived elevated experience as Nana's tries to present. I don't believe Nana's in Hawaii had glasses, just plastic cups, so having cereal in my dessert that came in a plastic cup really didn't phase me, but with all that cereal pouring out of the glass cup as I tried to get the contents inside that tiny glass was a really frustrating experience. It just didn't add-up. It made no sense what was happening. The parfait had one small scoop of hojicha and the majority of the glass was full of plain soft serve. As I said, in So Cal we have so, so many choices. What is the point of coming to this place for vanilla soft serve? We will not be back - very disappointing. My wife and I grew up in the area, so I understand that the buildings are old, but Nana's was a new build at the time of this writing, and it looked like it had been there for a decade. I understand that there are things that can't be done about the building, but I did expect more from the interior. As the sun was blasting in my kid's faces, I noticed there were no shades. I also noticed they didn't clean their windows! Because of the sun blaring in their eyes, I then noticed the lack of finish in the window sills... I heard this was a flagship store, but sorta seems like a neglected franchise.

Lean in to what their specials are. Both dishes were amazing. The Panda Inn Special featured large plump bites of lobster, chicken, and shrimp, with a medley of vegetables and smaller pieces of pork. The Panda Beef was shockingly amazing with crisp and flavorful slices of beef. We finished up dinner with Chocolate Lava Cake and the Warm Rice Pudding, the latter of which is also made in house. Both were a very great end to the dinner. Other notes that were very appreciated: - the checkbook and how nice it looked -they took the parking ticket with the check so we didn't have to go validate it ourselves - white rice is free? - the bar had an automatic wine glass shiner that was fun to look at - take out bag has a very luxury feel to it

Rates: $1.00 first 2 hrs, $2.00 for each additional hour. $12 for the full day. I liked the set menu, it was good for the price and I would like to return to try their other lunch menu items, whether it would be a set menu or a la carte.

Sometimes the best experiences are the ones you don't plan. My wife and I have been fans of Tacos Desvelados ever since we visited their Glendale location last year. The food was great, so when a craving hit today for lunch we headed out, assuming we were going back to the same familiar spot. Well, my navigation had other plans! We accidentally ended up at their Pasadena location instead. And you know what? I'm so grateful for the mix-up. From the moment we walked in, the vibe was just right. The ambiance was warm and inviting--the perfect blend of stylish and comfortable. We were greeted by Jessica, who was an absolute ray of sunshine. She was our host and our server, and she was, without a doubt, the best. Now, let's talk about the main event: the food. We discovered that Chef Lenny was in the kitchen that night, and wow, does that man have magic in his hands. The food wasn't just good; it was BOMB. So, I've been here before and I found out about this place through instagram of course. My first time was very pleasant but I'm leaving this review after my second visit because Maria made it very special. I knew I wanted to take a picture as soon as i walked in and what struck me is that she was already anticipating us that when she saw me and my coworker she jumped from around the counter with 2 menus and big warm smile. She asked if it was our first time and asked f we were drinking too. She made it clear to tell everyone about this place as they have an exciting menu and I agree, this place does have a great menu. There's something for everyone. Unless you are vegan. Don't remember seeing anything like that on the menu. We had a great time having a beer and our food which we had back at work was amazing. Food, drinks, scenery, customer service, fast service, and hospitality on point with this place. I found this place scrolling Instagram today and took the family for lunch. I give them 5 stars because the food is well seasoned. Best part of the experience besides the food is that there are pictures on the menu, they didn't have me second guessing and doubting my decision. Each picture was calling my name and I knew instantly what I wanted. I damn near tried everything on the menu (or at least I'm going back to try the others). The atmosphere was amazing and the decor was authentic and trendy, a nice place to have happy hour or get a quick bite to eat or on the go! Im definitely going to return. Went here for the first time tonight with a few of my friends. Food was good, and the service was great! The servers were all attentive, especially Ashley, who came by every once in a while to check in with us. She's a great seller, too! If I didn't have a long drive home, she probably would have convinced me to buy every shot on that menu. If things don't work out here, go into sales! You'd probably make a killing working in that field. Anyways, only problem I had was that the music was so loud inside. We were literally yelling at each other across the table trying to talk, so I missed a lot of the gossip we usually get together for. It doesn't take away from the place though, since there were outdoor seating. Next time, we'll sit out there instead. Overall, I would come again. read more

First off, the vibe is immaculate, the music is enchanting, the service is beyond compare. if you're new to town, or don't know exactly where to be, Tacos Desvelados is the place to spend time with the people you most cherish. I can't you tell you how much this place is near and dear to us, we came here on the first date and we were here on a very special night where I popped the question, and my life changed forever. I recently visited a restaurant that had some major issues with their service. While the staff did take our order right away, we were then left waiting for over an hour for our food to arrive. They did not even bring our drinks right away. To make matters worse after we had a word with them they brought our food and seemed to take only minutes to make, then when our food did finally arrive, it was a huge disappointment. The foods flavors were lackluster. It was clear that little care had gone into the preparation of our meal. The long wait time and disappointing food made for a truly unpleasant dining experience. This place is amazing!!! I have gone to many "fancy" taco spots and that's all they are, fancy. But here at tacos Los desvelados in Pasadena, wow!! The flavor of the food is amazing. It's not just a fancy taco place it's tons of flavor, and the drinks. They are fancy and flavorful. The atmosphere is fun and exciting. The music in the background makes u feel as u r celebrating something. The artwork on the wall also make it feel like a fancy hip place. You definitely have to come here and try it for yourself!! The service is also great. From the cashiers greeting us as we walked in to The, who i assume is the owner greeting us and checking on us to make sure that we were completely satisfied with this fun and exciting culinary experience. read more

I just happened upon this place and stopped in for a bite, and let me tell you, IT IS AMAZING!!!! From the first moment we came in the entire staff was so kind and wonderful. Every single person greeted us and was helpful. We ordered the shrimp quesadilla and split it because it was HUGE, and super delicious! My friend and I sat and chatted for hours and the staff encouraged it! Then some other people came and sat next to us and they were so friendly that we joined them for a drink! The staff continued to be fun and friendly and amazing, they really made our experience more fun. The manager, Teresa, was exceptional! The food, the drinks, and the staff are the reasons I will tell others about this place and will definitely come back!!!! read more

I live in Altadena and I can't believe I never knew this place existed until today. Do yourself the biggest favor and come eat here please. The drinks were so fun and made with the freshest ingredients. I ordered La Sancha pictured below, and the drink is made with tequila and Agua de Pepino... PLUS the chamoy,Tajin, and fresh cucumber. I was in heaven. I also ordered 3 tacos- 1 protein taco w carne asada, and 2 keto tacos - carne asada and 1 shrimp. Super delicious and fresh. The keto taco tortilla is made w Monterey Jack which I've never had before. Sooo good! Service was excellent ofc. Super attentive and the waitresses anticipated our asks before we could. Todays visit was exceptional!!! Everything was exquisitely delicious. We ordered our food and everything came out quickly. I love that the tortillas are handmade and makes everything extra good!! We ordered the taco El Desvelado, their specialty taco and it was amazing. The perfect shrimp and steak taco. My fiancé ordered the burrito and boy was it filling! We love the salsas here. They offer three different kinds the darkest being the hottest. The micheladas here are mouthwatering!! They are loaded with shrimp and pepinos. We had the pleasure of meeting Teresa who treated us with amazing customer service. We are happy to have this location in Pasadena now. Can't wait to come back. read more

If you're looking for bomb food in Pasadena, this is your spot! I got two tacos tijuaneros and they were so good! They're pretty big and have a good amount of meat, guacamole, cilantro & onion so with two they definitely got me full. I also came on an empty stomach. Service was great and the manager was super nice, didnt get her name but she was very attentive. My best friend and i came around 5:30 pm and soon after it started getting packed. I got a soda (since im driving) but my best friend got the Chapulin drink and i had a sip, tasted pretty good! The vibes are also 10/10. Would definitely recommend if you're in the mood for mexican food in the area. Will be coming back for sure! read more

I recently had the pleasure of dining at tacos Desvelados and had the pleasure of being served by Ashley. I have to say, the experience was exceptional. Ashley's personable nature made our afternoon truly memorable. From the moment we sat down, she greeted us warmly and made us feel right at home. Her attentiveness and friendly demeanor set the tone for a wonderful meal. As for the food, it was absolutely amazing and super unique. The flavors were unlike anything I've ever tasted, and the presentation was equally impressive. Tacos Los Desvelados in Pasadena offers decent Mexican fare with a few highlights. The pepino aqua fresca stands out as refreshing and well-prepared. Portions are generous overall, although the guacamole was a bit small. Unfortunately, warm beer detracted from the experience. The bottle was cool to the touch, but the beer inside was warm. My friends asked for a bucket to chill the beer. While the house-made tortillas were good, the carne asada taco was dry, and the pastor lacked flavor. The carnitas taco was the best among the three tacos I ate. Desvelados is an okay Mexican food spot. However, you can find better Mexican food options at street vendors in Los Angeles. read more

Wow! What an experience!! From the time we walked in, the servers were kind and welcoming. Our server Ashley was attentive, offered excellent suggestions, and was a lot of fun. We ordered two of the most massive margaritas. A little messy but very delicious. Now, let's get into what we came for.. The Quesadilla Mazatlan! We saw it on IG and had to try it for ourselves. Packed full of shrimp and cheese.. My God!! Because I'm trying to be on a diet, **wink wink** I ordered a keto asada taco... FIRE!! So darn good. I would come back again and again. Was at a neighboring business and inquired about the Mexican restaurant next to them and the young man stated "they are amazing"! He wasn't wrong. They offer indoor/outdoor seating, their menu has something for everyone and their service cannot be beat, and considering they are in Pasadena, you might find that surprising, however. The food was amazing and the prices were wallet friendly! I have not received service like this in any of the other restaurants I have visited over the last decade. The indoor seating is very festive, however I chose to sit outside and enjoy the atmosphere. The music is a very nice touch. read more

The moment we approached the restaurant it was full with people but we had a party of 8 and with kids so the only seats available were outside. This lovely lady Teresa saw us with a baby and 2 kids. She had felt bad for seating us outside due to it being sooo cold out and it was night time and went the extra mile and opened up next door for us. She was so sweet for doing that, great customer services and the food was delicious! It was our first time and they did not disappoint. The food was really good, packed with flavor, and delicious drinks. I will definitely come here again and will recommend to everyone. read more

My boyfriend and I are regulars here and the asada pac Man mullita is what keeps us coming back, it's a must order but we've got the chance to try a bit of everything every time we come. service and vibes are always fun and welcoming definitely a must try spot at least once Prices are reasonably priced definitely a treat or special occasion meal but the food is always satisfying and keeps us come back for more. I started following this place before I even ate here cause on Instagram the pictures looked amazing. It's been months since I started following to when I finally tried their food. I decided to try this new restaurant near my house , I wanted to see what the hype was . I have no complaints the food was amazing I loved my desvelados tacos ! If they take long with your order it's because of how busy this restaurant is !! It's understandable I seen some complaints of people saying they waited to long for their food but they need to be understanding of how busy it is and they are understaff . They are honest with the wait time which is amazing ! I would definitely go again , they won me as a regular . The Staff was amazing with checking up on us while eating there .
