If you sneeze you'll miss it. Small brewery, tucked away in looks to be industrial parts. Staff was friendly, she assured me in looking for the giants game but no luck. It was okay tho, they were down by 7 and atop of the third ole toy of ball left. Who am I Joking! Anyways off track. The stout was delicious. Sweet with a little kick. A must stop. Happy hour mon-thur 3-5pm

A cool option tucked away in a light industrial area. The beers are all very tasty without exception. During the day it's a great place to take on a couple pints and play a few games of cribbage. The staff is always friendly and there is always an excellent selection of IPA beers for sipping. They do tend to be overly focused on the IPA style but I get it that this is the very popular style that so many seek out. I wish they would add more variety in terms of the lighter hopped beers with malt forward flavors. Derby girl is a favorite but it makes an appearance all too infrequently. Parking is absolutely plentiful and the AC is not spared on warmer days. Happy to see they are making strides to open more locations in the Sacramento area and it's also great to see their beers on the shelf at the local grocery store and even at the local Costco from time to time. I'm a big fan and I'm excited to get out more now that this stupid covid stuff is getting well under control. Cheers! Go get yourself some soon.

Device is simply a great local brewery. Despite their ever-growing popularity, this location still manages to feel like a little tucked away gem. Come for the beer, stay for the company, buy more beer for home and repeat. You can grab a table with friends, bring your own food and it is dog friendly. I don't have a dog but I would frequent this spot if I did. But the real draw, of course, is the beer. This is locally brewed craft beer at its finest. I am a big fan of the Pincushion Pilsner and the Ofrenda Mexican Lager. They have a lot of great IPA's as well. Not much of a fan of stouts but they even have some better than average versions of those here. Whatever the occasion, keep this place in mind if you're a beer lover. They have a couple other locations as well!

Good beer, I really enjoyed the Pils and one of the IPA's. The place looks beat up, but most breweries, especially, smaller ones look industrial. Staff was friendly and helpful. You have to get in line to order your beer at the cash register and that line can go a bit slow, however, maybe it's good to have a break between beers. I was fortunate to have a friend tell me about this brewery. Definitely worth checking out.

DO NOT GIVE THIS BREWERY ANY RATING LESS THAN A 5 STAR! My wife and I are having a great time Brew-Hopping from microbrewery to microbrewery here in the Sacramento/Rancho Cordova area. Unfortunately we had a too short afternoon, but , we will be back. A great reason to get out of the bay area, get some country air and enjoy the best of life--Hops! DEVICE is less than a 1/4 mi. from NEW GLORY! What a treat! Device focuses on IPA s, DIPA s and brew up a Pilsner and a Blonde for the lighter side of life. I HIGHLY recommend/advise you drop by here, grab some delicious brew and some food truck tacos and protein-laced quesadillas, my friend, salud!

I come here once in a while because it is near where I live. Hidden in what seems to be warehouses, there is plenty of parking and it seems like there is nothing nearby (in walking distance) of restaurants, other breweries, or any business that is open. This place is intimate, but there are plenty of chairs for everyone. Though the setup is likely that you'll have no personal space or you'll have to be aware of who's walking near you, because they'll always be in close proximity. Which is fine because I have never seen or experience a @sshole customer just yet. Everyone seems friendly and doesn't get totally wasted. So, the cliental is more of a chill crowd, people from the nearby neighborhood with their dogs cruising on by. Yes, you'll have to order and get your beers at the register. I think they set this up because there are usually one staff working at the time, so they will always be at the register. Waters are self-serve. There NOW appears to be a hotdog stand that comes on Wednesday nights, as well as trivia nights on Wednesday. They also will start serving pizza very soon, so I'm not too sure if the rule on "bring your own food" will change. Yes! You can bring your own food! I guess it matters which employee you talk to, but they were in the works of advancing their system to nitro..... but again, it matters who you talk to lol. As for beers, I also get the Russian Imperial Stout. It's very good, but the real reason I always get that one, is because most of the beers are pale ales. It seems like the beers to brew in Sacramento are IPA's which unfortunately is not my drink. I'm not sure how frequently they change up their choices of beers, but I hope they add or keep the darker beers as an option.

I really wanted to like Device Brewery but here are a couple things I didn't like. When I walked in I sit at the bar only to be told by the lady bartender that I have to go to the register to be served. Okay?! I guess. The next thing is if you are going to list your brews on the board at least do one of two things. Make sure your list is legible to read or put up lighting by the menu so that it can be read easily. It really sucks trying to read what you have and can barley read it! Just sayin'! Also, we were not greeted when we walked in a good ol' fashion "Hello" goes a long way especially when I'm spending money in your establishment. The Bartenders weren't very personable I was lucky to even get a "Thank You" and even that sounded forced. Now to the beers. I ordered a flight which I picked, Integral, Derby Girl, Ale as Night and Basilica. If I had to pick one I would say Integral was my favorite. The beer didn't really have that wow factor. The atmosphere is pretty quite nothing too crazy which is a plus. I wish they had a good truck or something all they sell or Potato chips :/ As many Breweries Sacramento offers this won't be on the top of my list. I think the service is what really put a sour taste in my mouth.

First time visiting the Device Brewery after drinking their beers for so long. This location has a wide variety so I just asked for the worker's favorite hazy and he gave me Curious IPA and it was pretty good! The inside isn't too big so it can get crowded at peak time. They have a lot of games to play with friends as well.

Great little place tucked away in Sacramento. Kids and dog friendly! Dogs must be on leashes and kids prob should too (jk jk). They have a lot of great IPAs, and a couple good stouts. My favorite IPA was the "Scary Easy" and the "Made in Sac". The barrel aged brits in Moscow is great, def barrel aged and has amazing flavor! Def recommend stopping by for some beers!

Final last updated review on Device. Let me start by saying I was very disappointed in the beginning and became a huge fan in the end. The brew is excellent depending on your taste of course. The IPA is on point, no doubt! Nice casual crowd there ready to drink with you...Not sure what to order? Start with a Kid Casual Blonde Ale 4.7%, then lean into a Anguish Double IPA 8.5%. If you want to put some hair on your chest fellas or for the females get your niples hard, drink the Basilica 3xIPA 10.5 ABV. Basilica will bring the sexy out of you after your 1st sip. Ha, love It! Don't believe me? Try it!... Yours truly...J to the P. JP ****Ok, 2nd round. The place was busy and this time we got friendly service, the dude was super cool. There was a food truck outside which was nice. Pale as Night -Black IPA is still my favorite. Please tell the customers who are waiting in line with their dogs that look like miniature pony's to put their dogs to the side so your other guest can order brew to. Com'mon people, it's just rude. Cheers!

We really enjoyed our first visit to Device! Came on a Sunday around 430pm and the place was empty! 1-2 other couples came while We were there, but still pretty empty for a sunday. We got a taster of everything and really Liked about 6 of them! Even bought a bottle to go. (Intergal IPA) we brought in some sandwiches to eat, they didnt have a food truck That day. No outdoor seating but inside was nice bec it was empty! We'll Definitely Go again!

After coming from a successful dentist appointment with no cavities, I decided to celebrate by finally crossing Device off my bookmarks two weeks ago. The move was a good one, as it happened to be trivia night, and I cooled off from the hot day with a sample of Inconceivable then a full pint of Kid Casual. Both were great but I especially liked Kid Casual, and the staff was friendly and helpful as I tried to figure out which of their beers I might like best. I sat at the bar and although I was horrible at the first round of trivia (trying to name movie aliens after looking at pictures on a card that was handed to us), tipsy trivia agreed with me. I'd feel comfortable making this a weekly trip, as trivia is played at 6 p.m. every Wednesday night. There was a food truck outside (they also welcome outside food and are dog-friendly) and there is plenty of seating at tables or at the bar for beer fans, and TVs on the wall, which is how I found out Panda rejoined the Giants (sigh) lol. I'll be back to try more limited release beers and maybe do better in trivia next time. ; )

Hands down BEST brewery in Sacramento. My boyfriend and I come here quite and have a great time every time that we do. I love the quality and variety of the beer that they have to offer. Most of the beers pack quite the punch, which I LOVE! Plus the owner is usually working when we stop by and is very personable. There's usually fresh popcorn for munching and various games to play while sipping on your brew. If you haven't visited Device yet, you definitely MUST put it on your list of places to try. read more

What can I say- the staff was great, the space was nice and the beer was D lish. Came here with my man, who likes hop bombs- me I like Belgium style. This place delivered, with a smile. We both had great beer and we're happy. I will definitely try to come back! There is enough variety to keep most pallets happy and the atmosphere is fun. read more

Brews were ok. It was busy and with one person working it was difficult for him to get to us. The place they're at isn't really conducive to a taproom so it was awkward. Very dark and extra space. Not sure how this place is supposed to be kid friendly. We stopped by for a break from moving after searching breweries around us looking for a surprise gem. There's no food, just a food truck outside with a limited selection. It was really just ok. It was out of the way, but it's by a target so we might be back. read more

This place is trouble (in a good way)- great local beer and located close enough to just about everything. Tried 4 different pints today, and they were all great (session IPA, scotch, and Amber). Will be back very soon- love this place! read more

Went to the tasting room off Power Inn. The beer was delicious. They do have a lot of IPAs, but if you want something less hoppy they also have an Amber that was really good and an awesome Sweet Stout. Liked the Stout so much me and the bf bought a growler to take home :) Good atmosphere, free pretzels, really friendly staff and locals bring in cute dogs! I noticed they make homemade dog treats too ;) read more

Great beer! I am assuming if you are going to a brewery beer would be your priority, so I figured I would start there. The IPA's are amazing, I especially like the double IPA. However, they are all good. I am a fan of crisp, piney, and/or citrusy IPA's and they really hit the mark on that. I do not like sweet or whiskey barely IPA's and here I am good (if they have one like that I either don't remember or didn't try it). The people are also very friendly and I appreciate it being dog friendly. The only complaint I have is that the seats are uncomfortable. I am not a fan of the basic barstool since there is not back support, but that is my personal opinion so take it or leave it. Even with the uncomfortable bar stools I will be back again and again! Tasty!! read more

Love this tasting room. My fav is the Russian imperial stout. We come here often because the owner is super friendly, the place is kid friendly, good prices n great beer. They also have the occasional food truck. Close to home so I can't beat that. read more

Outstanding Imperial Stout (did I mention outstanding) and awesome maybe not available small batch of coffee stout that can do the big leagues ( you'll have to check out Old Soule 40 acres in Oak Park for that). I am looking forward to their normal every day stout coming out soon. Device Brewing is a great welcome home when I was afraid I'd miss the great craft beers of San Diego's 85 breweries. Sacramento got game with this place. read more

This use to be Patty's Diner and they did a good job of updating the place. I see they keep the hood and cooler. I had the 3X IPA which was very smooth and my GF had the stout which she thought tasted better the Track 7s. It had a good crowd for being around 2pm. We wanted to head to the SPCA so we only had a pint. I took away one star because of how pricey some of the growler fills are. If a pint is $6.50 then 64 oz is $26 but it is listed as $30. I see this at Knee Deep also. I will ask about it the next time I'm there but we were in a rush today. read more

This is hands down the best beer in Sacramento. While I pride myself on a mild-obsession with IPA, everything I've had here has been peerless. If you haven't gone you need to try Device - they're awesome, the servers are friendly - this is a great spot. read more

Dogs ARE allowed. The beer is exceptional, and the bartenders are super cool. What more do you want from a brewery? Personally, the IPAs are arguably the best in Sacramento. The Integral has a dry finish but the nose is amazing. If you're up for a challenge, take on the Anguish. I haven't regretted anything here. A- in my book read more

It's high time I write my review of my favorite nano brewery. I've been a frequent customer of Device for over a year now and I think it would take a lot to dethrone them as my absolute favorite. The employees, each and every one of them, all the way up to the owner, Ken, are AMAZING. They are always willing to enjoy a nice chat, even if they are really busy. The beers, are wonderful: they always have a broad selection for any palate and maintain high quality across the board. Highlights: Brits in Moscow, Me Too!, Anguish, and Kid Casual. The environment is fantastic, and they do a good job of bringing in great food trucks. They also from time to time do fantastic collaboration brews with other great breweries including: Stone, Alpine, and Knee Deep. Love these guys. read more

THIS PLACE MAKES GREAT BEER! Friends took me to this unassuming spot (they wanted to take me to a good brewery) In a industrial area, you'd never even know it there! We each had a pint of the Integral IPA. This was an excellent beer. Hoppy with citrus and tropical undertones and excellently balanced. The setting is very comfortable with good music playing in the background. Check out the mahogany bar, which is a touch classier than most tap rooms. They also have a root beer if you want a break from beer. The bartender was very friendly and gave us tasters of the Me Too! session IPA and the Anguish double IPA. Both were good, especially the Anguish. We liked this beer well enough that we bought a growler to take home, and have been back twice in the last month. read more

Device has first and foremost really good beer, I mean really good. The place itself has super campy feel complete with a sausage truck outside. You can bring in some snacks if you want too. Its a very chill and nice crowd. My favorite place to have a beer! read more

Their beers were great. We asked if they had a flight that would let us try all of their beers and they said no but they were willing to pour us a taste of whatever we wanted. They seemed to be IPA heavy but they were all really good. Seating was limited (probably because it was the 5pm hour on a Friday.) They put out bar mix which is nice but we would have stayed longer if there was a kitchen. The area is very industrial but the inside was minimalistic but cozy. I'll be back for sure. read more

As others have stated, the Russian Imperial Stout is the bomb. Its always a good crowd after work and a cozy place to get good beer. It gets busy but I like a bar that is busy, and fun. A great place to hang out, play with other patrons dogs and play games. Oh and they have a good selection of food trucks that, per one of the staff, they select based on consumer reviews. One truck there had Pulled Pork fries. Get those with extra cheese and onions. Outstanding. read more

We've been here twice and thoroughly enjoyed the beers. The Belgian and IPA are excellent and the Nosegrind is a very respectable pale. The lighter Cream ale isn't bad either- nice session beer on a hot day. It's in an industrial park, but the atmosphere and layout are comfortable. Of the local breweries, I'd definitely rank this one higher than some. Its worth the short drive. read more

Great experience. The food truck vender on the night we visited was Arlington Brothers Sausages. Tried four different samples of beer. Loved two of them and could have passed on the others. But, thats the point of trying variety isn't it? The setting is awesome especially for a homebrewer to enjoy. read more

I love this brewery! My friends and I visit it a few times a month for a tasty beer, some pretzels, a game of Jenga, and a relaxed atmosphere. Everyone who works here is great to talk to. My favorites are the amber ale and black IPA. My bf and friends, who are huge IPA buffs, think the triple IPA rivals Pliny! read more

We went last night and found a huge crowd. This was expected since it was beer week and the Kings were on tv. The staff was friendly and the service was super fast even though it was packed. My husband had the Russian imperial stout, which he enjoyed. I had tasters of the beer week special barleywines and then the session ipa. All of which I would have again. Great place, great atmosphere. read more

FRIGGIN' wow! This is one of the better spots for tasty IPA's in the area. The anguish and single IPA are some of the best I've had in awhile. I brought my friend from LA and he couldn't believe that sacramento had a place this good. I couldn't say anything different, this place rocks. read more

I have also tried their Chicken Banh Mi, Chicken Wings, Goat Cheese and Almond Stuffed Dates Wrapped in House Smoked Applewood Bacon and Spinach and Goat Cheese Stuffed Mushrooms plus a couple of their other pizzas - everything is usually pretty solid! I think their menu is always changing as well. I did not try their beers this visit, but my husband did and he is always a fan of whatever he orders. Staff is friendly and they give great recommendations. I like that they also offer Paint Nights, Trivia Nights and even Millennial Loteria Nights plus other events! I told the cashier I'll have the crystal boba instead of the brown sugar since it's currently unavailable, and the guy goes with an attitude... soo do you want the crystal boba? I said yess...yes I do. The Iced Dubai Chocolate Matcha was alrightt. It is definitely not all that it is hyped up to be. The drink IMO was just a basic iced matcha with chocolate drizzle on the side of the cup and the pistachio foam that barely tasted like pistachio.

Device is our favorite brewery in the world! Their beer gets five stars, always. Pincushion, Rice Crispy Boy, Kid Casual--the list goes on. Their beer is amazing and is always worth 5 stars and the money it costs. The review is only four stars because this location seems to often have customers hanging around without masks, which is a real bummer. We've been in this nonsense for over a year, you as customers know better. It's a tough position because it shouldn't be cashier's jobs to enforce this, but the business should. I've been following Device since they launched at Cap Tap. The brewer is very passionate which shows in all his beers. His range in styles has grown from mostly ipa's and a stout to lagers and Belgian styles. Device has rapidly risen to the top of the class amongst Sacramento breweries. The space is small but cozy.
