If this was just a review of the food, it would be a 5 star review. Alas, there are some aspects of Dewey's that keep it from being a perfect dining experience. But first, the food. Dewey's is easily one of my top 2 favorite pizza joints in Cincinnati (the other being Two Cities out in Mason). The pizza is delicious as are the salads. We have our favorites which include (for salads) the Greek and the harvest and (for pizza) the Dr. Dre, the Bronx Bomber, the Green Lantern, the Socrates Revenge, and the Killer Veggie. It's all delicious and made with fresh ingredients. Can't recommend the food enough. However, the dining in experience isn't the greatest. First, they don't assign a waiter to each table, rather all the waiters serve all the tables. This can lead to service being intrusive at times and under attentive at others. Additionally, we've seemed to have issues with our order every now and then. They typically do a good job of making up for it, but I'd prefer they fix the issues so they don't keep happening. It's also always crazy busy inside. Not really the fault of the restaurant, but a reality nonetheless. Make sure you get on the list before coming in or you will likely end up waiting for a while. All that said, we love this place and highly recommend it. read more

Porky fig is the best pizza. *drops mic* No but seriously, all their pizzas are great. A little pricy but I have never ever had a bad pie from this place. The customer service ranges from, at worse, slightly ADHD (it's ok to leave us alone for more than 2 minutes at a time, promise!) to freaking fantastic. We decided to try this newer location of Dewey's for a change. It was pretty crowded for a Thursday night. We had a 20-30 minute wait when we arrived there around 6, 6:30. They have a surprisingly small dining area. Since this is a newer location, I had thought they would have invested more in providing ample seating. There's a long corridor when you first walk in and it kind of loops around to the hostess station - this is also where you exit, which is a bit of an odd layout. Once you're in the dining area, it has a modern pizzeria feel. A server came to take our drinks order, then another server almost took our order but we weren't quite ready yet, so another server stopped by a couple minutes later with a trainee in tow to actually take our order. We were a little confused with all the server hopping, but overall, it made for very attentive service. Our first server did a really good job of explaining how things worked, like the specials and the half-and-half pizzas (you can do this with any pizza). One of the drawbacks of Dewey's is that they don't actually have appetizers. Besides pizza, they also have salads, calzones, and dessert. I guess they're just focusing on what they do best! We ultimately went with a small Killer Veggie, which features Red Sauce, Mozzarella Cheese, Mushrooms, Onions, Black Olives, Green Peppers, with Fresh Tomatoes and Parsley after the bake ($14.95). We also had a small half Edgar Allen Poe, which has Olive Oil, Mozzarella-Fontina Blend, Mushrooms, Roasted Garlic, Kalamata Olives and Goat Cheese, with Fresh Tomatoes and Parsley after the bake and half Create Your Own with Cheese and Mushrooms ($15.95). Our original waiter brought out our food. :P Overall, our food was tasty. I probably preferred pie #2 the best and regretted getting an entire veggie pizza. I generally like my pizza cheesy and unhealthy. :P They do not skimp on the toppings, let me tell you, so be sure you like what are ordering on your pizza. Oh, and there were huge hunks of garlic on the Poe pizza that were a little intimidating at first but once roasted, it completely transforms the garlic flavor. The cheese covering is adequate - not too much, not too little. Everything is very fresh, and the crust isn't half-bad. Another employee brought our check, but we were rung up incorrectly. We had come in with a $25 Gift Certificate, but he had inadvertently discounted it by $15.00 instead. Once, we pointed this out, he was apologetic and immediately corrected it. VERDICT: Dewey's offers some good pizza, but for some reason, it is generally not top of mind for me when I think of getting pizza. Not gonna lie, I almost think of it as healthy pizza. I know that is totally unfair. It is good pizza with fresh ingredients and it's very flavorful. They are a bit on the pricey side. A small specialty pizza will you run you around $15.00. For comparison, a Medium Build-Your-Own is $13.45 + $1.75 per regular topping/$2.00 per gourmet topping, while at Adriatico's it was $11.49 + $1.50 per topping. It's a couple dollar difference, so not a HUGE deal. But you know what - I don't get a stomachache after eating Dewey's because their pizza isn't anywhere near as greasy, so I guess that could be worth a couple bucks. :P Overall, I'd say Dewey's is good if you're feeling a lighter, fresh and flavorful pizza option. I love Dewey's and regret that this wasn't here when I lived on the west side. This location is a good one and I hope it continues to do well. Their salads are great, I always go for the seasonal but I've got people who swear by the peppercorn ranch. The pizzas are all good, I've had almost everything on the menu multiple times and have never had a bad experience. In fact, this location messed up my customization one time and they apologized a lot and gave it to me free plus they made me a whole other pizza that was to my specification and put it in a take-home box for me. Really impressive service! The only problem with it is that it is very small and gets over-capacity very quickly. The parking lot is also a bit small for it and there aren't really other options for parking. I don't fault Dewey's for that, but it just seems odd to develop a new commercial strip with insufficient parking. Long story short, if you can get in then this is a great restaurant! read more

They steal money from people here. If you pay with a credit card - please check to make sure they charged you the correct amount. I had to call multiple times until they finally gave me the money back. Not trying to be one of those people who complain, it just sucks when people do that stuff and get away with it. read more

This place gets crowded so try to go on an off mealtime if you can. The entryway is narrow and there's not a lot of room to sit and wait, which is a pain. But you can watch the pizza be made, which is always good to keep kids entertained. The service is interesting because you're basically waited on by everyone working at the time, so usually there aren't long waits. The specialty pizzas are interesting and seasonal, and the regular pizzas are tasty. I'm a big fan of how they do their crusts. Also, highly recommend the salads. read more

So frustrated. Waited 2 hours for 2 small pizzas and a salad. Was told when I ordered it would be 60-70 minutes because of the pandemic. Waited 15 minutes in the parking lot, did not receive the extra salad dressing we requested, and the pizza was cold. All for $36. I realize things are crazy, however, it's pizza and salad. While I have had Dewey's Pizza to go, tonight was the first time we have eaten their pizza in restaurant. We arrived on a weekday evening to no wait. Toppings were applied liberally. I was actually excited to see the generous amount of vegetables covering the pizza. The bottom of the pizza had a slight crunch, with a nice chewy crust. The Edgar Allen Poe & Socrates' Revenge are similar pizzas. Both were good, but we prefer Socrates' a bit more. I'm not usually a fan of green olives, but they worked well on the Socrates. That being said, the whole cloves of roasted garlic on the Edgar Allen Poe were soft, sweet, and delicious. Buffalo chicken pizza was a hit at our table too. Even my eldest, who doesn't like spicy food asked for seconds of it. It tasted exactly as the description described. We also ordered a Greek salad. (Not pictured.) It has been a while since I have tasted lettuce so fresh at a restaurant. A vibrant red color, and slightly sweet, Dewey's Greek dressing is different than that commonly found. I recommend ordering the dressing on the side. Add a little dressing to the salad, and save the rest to dip pizza crust in. Service was attentive. Service was friendly. All the servers at the restaurant seemed to be working as a team. At about 80% compacity, they didn't seem to be pushing us out the door. While to carry out pizza is good, I highly recommend enjoying it in restaurant. read more

For the product you receive this is the most aggressively overpriced restaurant I've ever been to. Their ingredients are mostly in pre portioned bags that are just pored into a pan. Most of the vegetables are in poor shape as you have to pull throw all the rotting ones and pick out the few good ones. Kitchen is also infested with fruit flies for the entire summer season. It cost them roughly $5 in cost to make a large cheese pizza and it's on the menu for over $15. $10 mark up on a cheese pizza is absolutely ridiculous not to mention the side salads are $7. Dewey's has good pizza, but I had such a poor experience here! I coach for Oak Hills HS and wanted to take my girls there for a team dinner. Called at 3 to let them know of our party of 15 that would be coming in at 5:45 and called again at 5:20 to let them know we would be over in 15-20 minutes. They said they don't take reservations, but when I called at 5:20 they said there was not a wait at the time so I hurried over and was there at 5:35. At that point they seemed to have no idea I was coming and it was a 60-70 minute wait for us. I was really disappointed they couldn't work with us at all especially considering that our district just did a fundraiser with them last month. I would have just planned to go somewhere else if they had just said it wouldn't work. Would still go to a different location because I do like them. Very overrated pizza. I've eaten here maybe 4 times and I'm yet to taste that wow factor that some people talk about. Nothing about these pizzas make me feel as if I tried someone new or become a regular worthy. I've tried about 4 of their signature pizzas and maybe 2-3 basic build your own.. I guess since Cincinnati is pretty limited when it comes to truly GOOD quality pizza that to some people this is a step up from your normal takeout of the hometown LaRosas.. to each there own.. but you aren't going to find that true American pizza taste at Dewey's. read more

This was my second visit to Dewey's. I must say that besides having great pizza, their wait staff is amazing! Their smiles warrant an extra star. I had the porky fig pizza and also Dr Dre. Great pizza and beer selection, as always. There isn't much to add about the food, except maybe live on the edge and try the monthly special. 2 other comments. Download the app if you are waitlisted. It keeps you informed about where you are in line. You can use it at other restaurants to get on the list before you ever leave home. Also, this restaurant provides team service. So, don't be surprised if one person takes your drink order, another takes your food order, someone else stops by to ask if you need anything, and any one of those three tops off your Coke. It can be confusing at first, but it's nice if you know what's going on, because any time you need something you can just grab someone and you don't have to feel like you need to wait for your specific waiter or waitress. read more

We. Love. Deweys. It is a stop we try to make every time we are in the area. Make sure you check what their seasonal options are, if your waiter doesn't already inform you. The salads are tasty and hearty. I really enjoyed the harvest salad (I think it's the seasonal right now). They have calzones but I always get pizza. The crust is so good. WARNING: it will make it hard to eat any other pizza again. I love their marinara and white sauce. The white sauce is like a balsamic garlic glaze. Service is good, local craft beer is available, this is definitely a great stop for a quick lunch or to sit and stay with a group of friends! read more

This experience with the Yelp App and Deweys really sucked. I put our name on The Wait At Home feature for the only Deweys that came up and got there at the appropriated time. Hostess did not have our name and made zero effort to accommodate us although I showed her the Yelp app and my text message confirmation I received! Maybe it was for another Deweys she said. Well the app doesn't give you a choice and it said 7 miles away, which is the distance from my house to this Dewrys on Harrison! Dewey's has been such a great addition to the westside. The staff is always friendly and attentive and the pizza never disappoints. The local craft beer options are also a huge plus! It's Dewey's, now on the West Side! A great addition to the West Side for sure. My experience here was on-par with other Dewey's experiences. To be honest, as compared to my urban-core Dewey's go-tos, this place has ample parking going for it. Everything was as expected. Service was, for a minute, a bit too attentive with three different people asking about our food in a short period of time, but chalk that up to a new location. It seems like Dewey's has successfully been able to consistently reproduce their business model and atmosphere, and this is a great go-to when you're on this side of town and another visit to O'Charley's just isn't going to cut it. read more
