I love everything there is to love about Dewey's Oakley. Highly recommended! Personal favorite pizza: The Edgar Allen Poe.

I frequently forget Dewey's exists. I'm not the biggest pizza fan because of red sauce, so when someone says they want pizza I automatically shut the idea down because TOMATOES ARE GROSS. However, Dewey's offers many non-red sauce items, so when two friends mentioned they wanted pizza and wouldn't take no for an answer, I finally remembered Dewey's was an option. My friends arrived a couple minutes before me and notified me that it'd be a 25-30 minute wait. I didn't really mind so we stuck it out and waited. We actually only waited about 15 minutes! We were sat and immediately greeted. We ordered drinks and all started with salads. I had the peppercorn ranch salad which was just fine. The bacon tasted more like gourmet bacon bits than actual pieces of bacon, and I wished there was more dressing, but it tasted good overall. We ordered A LOT of pizza. One 17" Southwest BBQ Chicken, one 13" half (seasonal) Arugula Prosciutto and Bronx Bomber, and a 13" half DIY red sauce-bacon-Green peppers and Killed Veggie. I LOVE this fact about Dewey's - you can half and half any type of pizza, regardless of how many toppings you get and what sauce base you order. A 17" is $21.95, but considering the quality of pizza and how you can order, it's a good deal to me. Their 13" is enough to share for two people, so if you're really hungry I'd skip the salads and just head straight to a 17" option. We scarfed our pizzas down. (What we could scarf down - there were a lot of leftovers!). The staff was friendly and offered us extra ranch and BBQ sauce for the road. I'll have to remember to keep Dewey's in my back pocket for restaurant choices. They don't have too many locations, but the ones that are around are conveniently located for me. If you ask me out for a pizza dinner, I'm only going if we're heading to Dewey's. read more

I been to Dewey's before but never really order take out. This time I come here cuz my nephew requested pizza for dinner. He didn't requested Dewey, he just wanted pizza but I'm glad I came here. They was quick taking order and friendly. Then we just step over the window to watch the process. And as they was making it, the pizzeria notice my nephew is watching and he purposely making tricks for entertaining. My nephew was very entertained, and I think it would make him open mind to the idea of making pizza at home for fun. It was a pleased experience. Totally come here from now. Dewey's Pizza is my first authentic Cincinnati experience! We arrived close to 8pm on a Thursday night and was told the wait would be around 10 minutes for a table for two. Busy, popping pizza restaurant on a weeknight? Seems legit. What makes Dewey's even more legit is that while we waited for our table, we were able to watch men kneading dough by hand to prepare the pizzas. Good impressions! We seated before our ten minutes and was immediately greeted by a cheery young server who enthusiastically explained their menu selections. She came back in seconds with our drinks and left for another few minutes to give us time to decide on our order. Herein lies the breakdown. This server did not come back, and it took an oddly long amount of time for another server to stop by and finally take our order. As I watched the other tables, I realized there must be pooled tips and shared responsibilities among the service staff. This isn't a big deal when everyone works their fair share and there is an organized system. In our case, we did experience a service breakdown. On to the food! We started off with a couple of salads. I had the peppercorn ranch salad, which was fresh, sweet, and delicious. We split a medium-sized pizza with two choices: meatball and barbecue chicken. I'm going to give this place props for their authentic doughy crust, which was very delicious, but I think the toppings could have been more exaggerated and robust. After reading the menu descriptions, I feel like I received a standard pizza and not anything that wowed me, which is a shame considering the time, care, and quality invested in the dough preparation. I would come back, definitely order a salad, and hope that the toppings are more generous the second time around. read more

Dewey's, what can't you open an outpost in Louisville?!? I ask myself this question every time I leave one of the Cincinnati locations (or the Newport, KY one). This is my favorite pizza place in OH and one of my all-time faves in the US. Crispy crust, imaginative combinations, loads of options (including gluten free). Perfect place to meet up with friends/family for a weeknight or weekend meal. I've been to the Clifton, Oakley, and Levee locations and have always had consistent service. Dewey's offers Coke products (yay!) and plenty of beer and wine choices. Parking can be a challenge at most of the locales, but I always find something. I'm a huge fan of their harvest salad - greens, Boursin cheese, pumpkin seeds, figs, and vinaigrette. It normally comes with bacon, but I have them leave it off mine. You can get a side, which is huge, or we often split a full-size between two of us. Their house salad is also a delicious option for some green stuff to balance all the carbs and cheese coming next. Last night, we were ravenous after a 45 min wait - which is typical on a Sat night. Two of us shared a 13" pizza (medium size) pizza which we split into the Socrates Revenge and the flavor of the month, Yukon Cornelius. My half was the season flavor, and oh my, what a winner it was! Created by a staffer at the original Oakley location, this pizza has thin slices of Yukon gold potatoes, white cheddar, mozzarella, bacon (none for me), red onions on a garlic and olive oil base with a lemon-chive sour cream drizzle. Wowsa! I loved this loaded baked potato pie. It was warm, cheesy, and filling with crisp, yet creamy, slices of potatoey goodness in each bite. Made me think of St.Paddy's Day in a way. Hurry if you want it, think it's only around until early April! read more

Many reviews compliment their food quality, and it is great. This review compliments their service. You will have an assigned waiter/waitress, but the rest of the service is more of a "swarm" technique. This actually adds a LOT to the experience. While you have assigned waitstaff, it quickly becomes apparent that ANYONE who's out on the floor handles ANY need you require. Whether it is clearing an empty salad plate, or refilling a drink, everyone who's on the floor takes part. Even the manager comes by and attends to simple needs at your table. I've been to multiple locations of Dewey's and this is an across the board mantra. It's not weird like, "where's my waitress?" and someone notices your awkward stare, but it's just an organic, "there is something to be done and I'm here, so I'll do it.". The service is top notch, and I applaud their good work. Most other restaurants could learn from this customer service model. read more

Just went to Dewey's Pizza for dinner tonight. Had a great experience. The staff was friendly and very helpful, I had messed up placing my online order (ordered a small instead of a large!) and the staff was ready to help making sure I left with everything I needed. Being from NJ, I have to admit I was a little skeptical about trying Dewey's pizza when visiting Cincinnati. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised. I started with half a house salad as the coworkers I was with were raving about them. I can see why! The salad was delicious. It wasn't overdressed and had the perfect amount of dried cranberries, pine nuts, etc. We then ordered two medium pizzas. The porky fig and the special sgt peppers pizza. They were shockingly good. You never know what you're going to get when trying regional pizza but this did exceed my expectations. I would 100% come back here just I could have another one of those delicious salads. read more

This was my first Cincinnatti pizza. Being from Chicago, it always takes me a few times to appreciate pizza in other cities. Dewey's pizza is good. I really liked the sauce. They serve sliced sausage, where I prefer the Chicago style sausage chunks. This is another restaurant that is understaffed and therefore is probably losing business. We tried to order pizza to carry out, but their online ordering was "temporarily not available". When we called to order, they answered the phone, but put us on hold and never returned. Since the location is right by where we were staying, we went into the place to order and waited for the pizza to carry out. On the bright side, the service inside was good and the pizza was done sooner than they estimated. read more

We were in town visiting my daughter and son-in-law and he highly recommended this place for pizza. So we checked it out and it was only pizza, they do have a couple of salads but if you're looking for apps or anything else this is not your place. But it was perfect for us because that's all we wanted and we literally got A large pepperoni pizza. It was large, it was enough to feed all four of us. This was absolutely one of the best pizzas I've ever eaten the crust, the sauce the pepperoni the cheese everything was so fresh and it was just enough of everything, there was nothing overpowering the other ingredients. I can see why this is a very popular place, and if you're ever in the area you must try it. For years our family has always loved Dewey's pizza. Lately we have noticed that Dewey's pizza sauces ( at least at the Oakley store) have gotten much spicier and hotter than they used to be without any warning. This started about 4 months ago. At first we thought one of the kitchen employees might have decided to put more spice in the sauce, but every pizza we've ordered since then is too spicy. Whatever is making it hot is overwhelming the good flavor we enjoy. We have been reluctant order pizzas from Dewey's but we miss the other sauce, the atmosphere, the family ambiance, and the wait staff. We would love to have a choice between the regular sauce and the blazing hot sauce. Is that possible? read more

CONSUMER BEWARE!!! OVERPRICED CALZONE RIP-OFF!!! I am downright disappointed and furious, with the recent piss poor product quality I received from Dewey's Pizza; located at Oakley Square 3014 Madison Rd. Cincinnati, Ohio. On 6/7/19, I placed a pick-up order for two calzones; each $10.95 a piece. Upon arriving home I immediately noticed how deflated the calzones looked; upon further inspection (after actually cutting the calzones open) it was discovered that there were barely any toppings whatsoever inside the calzones. There were a stingy portion of ingredients located in the center of the calzones; but the two corners or end pieces, were filled with nothing but lost hopes and dreams. Basically 98% of each calzone was nothing but bread; and this is NOT the first time this has happened. Which is why I feel completely robbed and ripped off! I've also had experiences of receiving calzones that do not have a deflated appearance, and still only contained a stingy pinch of ingredients. When I treat myself to takeout, I expect it to be a "treat". If I'm paying roughly 11 bucks for a calzone, I expect it to be at a satisfying standard of excellence. Hell, I could've went to another pizza chain (i.e. Pizza Hut, Adriatico's, LaRosa's etc.) for a more fulfilling experience; and next time I will, since this regretfully, shitty encounter will not soon be forgotten! Excellent pizza place to go! I loved how you can get half and half combo for pizza. We tried 4 different pizzas and they were all very tasty. The crust was so good that I finished every bite of my slice. Tried Mad Hatter which is seasonal pizza with medley of mushrooms and yummy spicy sirracha sauce. Milk is not on the menu but can get it for your child. Good service as well. Just watch out for the wait. It was very popular even during weekday dinner time. read more

Preface: I'm Celiac and have been for decades at this point. I've given up on chewy delicious breast goodness in the form of pizza crust because I believed no where had it of the gluten free variety... until I tried Dewey's. This is honestly the best gluten free pizza crust I've had in 20+ years. We tried a Green Lantern and a Bronx Bomber and the vegetarians and omnivores in our family enjoyed every bite. Crust was thicker than your typical GF variety and toppings and bread it's we're on point. Highly recommend - and bonus, reheated better than most pizza in the microwave. Dewey's has hands down the BEST PIZZA in Cincinnati! There. I said it, and I stand by it. I feel like that's all you really need to know about Dewey's. First off, the Oakley location is awesome. They have nice friendly people that work here. I like to sit at the bar so I can get immediate attention if my beer starts to run low, if you know what I'm sayin. They have a lot of great beers on tap, including several local beers (Rhinegeist, Madtree, etc.). Yes, this is a pizza place, but it should be noted that their house salad is the BOMB. Probably one of my top favorite salads in Cincinnati. My fiance and I like different things, so we like to split the pizza. You can get two specialty pizzas (even with different sauces) on one pie for no additional charge, which is great if you have picky eaters in your group! We got the special of the week which was a taco pizza, and the Ryan's Inferno. My fiance and I LOVE anything that has buffalo sauce and blue cheese on it, and the Ryan's Inferno was just everything I could ever want in a pizza. Thank you, Dewey's, for combining chicken wings and pizza into one glorious perfect combination! Did I mention the crust?? So, I'm the kind of person that normally eats the toppings and leaves the crust at the end...But not here! Their pizza dough is the bomb dot com! Basically everything about their food is just done right. I wish they had delivery, but they don't so the only wait to get their pizza is to get it to go. Stopped in with my 4 year old for day 1 of $8 pizza week. Was a little iffy with wait times but everything from wait times to service to food quality was astounding. I loved each server, they all worked so well together. With how busy they were we didn't have to wait that long and my little one loved watching the guys in the kitchen toss the pizzas. He ordered the 11'' Meatball pizza and I had the half Greek salad with chicken. Both phenomenal.. their dressing red wine vinaigrette was amazing and super filling for a half size. I never had an empty Diet Coke and the manager did such a great job checking on everyone. Highly recommend! read more

Mmmmm Dewey's. Now that the man-friend has introduced me - I can't get enough! They have the most delicious pizza. Every location it's the same, every location they have the best customer service. I really am quite sad that I didn't experience such awesomeness until I was in my 30's, but I plan to make up for it - don't worry. I love you, Dewey's. Service and food were both excellent. Our server was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. We had a half Bronx bomber, half southwest bbq chicken and slices from each were both delicious. We also had a house salad which was plenty for the three of us. While everything was really tasty, to me, the crust and traditional sauce on the Bronx bomber were the stars of the show... along with our server, Oakley. Sadly, it's the negative restaurant experiences that prompt an eager review from me. Not this time! I rarely remember WHAT I ate when I eat out but I always remember HOW I'm treated. Last night was some of the best service I've experienced ever in Cincinnati. The service is effortless and friendly from start to finish, even with a small glitch in our order (which I'm pretty sure was our fault). No one batted an eye and the waitstaff swooped into action to fix the problem. We barely even noticed. (Again, our fault). My favorite things? 1. The Green Lantern Pizza is so delicious. 2. I never heard any server saying, "My name is so-and-so and I'll be taking care of you this evening." Why does every restaurant in Cincinnati feel compelled to force the waitstaff to recite this unfeeling, rote, and predictable intro? It's like one of those tests in Blade Runner to see who's a replicant and who isn't. Thanks to Isabelle, the food runner, and everyone else involved in our dinner last night.
