I've been coming here for the past few years. Consistently great pizza and team waitstaff.

To be fair, we had take-out, which sometimes isn't as good as eating pizza in-house. But we were underwhelmed... Not bad, but just don't see what the hype is about. Also in fairness, we did not order one of their signature pizzas but rather ordered our own toppings on their "build your own." So their branded pizzas may be "more special" than what we had. Our main complaint is that the bottom of the crust was soft to the point of seeming under cooked and gummy, yet that wouldn't seem to be the case in that the edge was cooked properly, and actually pretty tasty. Would like for the bottom crust to have been more crunchy. The mushrooms were nice... fresh, not canned. Didn't care so much for the sausage... can't say why specifically, although part of it might be our preference for the crumbled kind of Italian sausage rather than the sliced links. The sauce is decent. The Greek salad was good... includes whole roasted garlic cloves, which were a nice (and unusual) touch. Bottom line: Decent neighborhood pizza joint, if they fix the crust problem. I wouldn't consider it gourmet pizza, but probably can't say that for sure until we try one of their signature varieties. read more

Pizza is soooo good. Atmosphere is good too. It is the go to Friday night date spot! I could literally drink the ranch sauce. Definitely worth the experience! read more

I know the pizza community out there is very opinionated (especially in the St. Louis area), so take this review with a grain of red pepper flake because I thought this piece of pie was fantastic! un-pizza related, but I must start by saying they have GREAT beers on tap! Bells, Schlafly, Rogue, Six Row, Left Hand... mmm. Who cares if there's a wait?! Pizza: My favorites are the Green Lantern and Billy Goat. I think this is the first pizzeria that has done white sauce right. Everything has the perfect balance so you aren't too overwhelmed with a heavy greasy mess. Others with me have really enjoyed the X-Pepperoni. Salads: OK, seriously... these are wonderful!! They are not your typical pizza-joint salads. They are fresh, created with the perfect combination of toppings, and served with the best dressing ever. I order one every time. Out of the 4 pizza establishments I really like, Dewey's is my #1. read more

Went here for a birthday dinner. The staff was pleasant and quickly accommodated our party of 7 and got us settled in. Waitress was friendly and happy to explain some of the various toppings and sauces they use. Pizza was very good. Could have used a little more of the toppings but everything tasted great, nice flakey crust. I highly recommend trying at least a half pizza with their house white garlic sauce. It's very good and a fun change from typical tomato pizza sauce. read more

I've visited Dewey's three times over the past few months, and it has been an excellent pizza experience all three times. Great salads, great artisan pizza, and a solid lineup of craft beer selections. The service is likewise fantastic. My two favorite pizza selections are the bbq chicken and the Yukon Cornelius... but there doesn't appear to be a bad pizza on the menu. read more

Holy crap this is a great find for us. My new favorite place to eat pizza. The Porky Fig is amazing, and I have not tried one kind of pizza there that I did not like. Nice looking place, great service, flavorless pizza. When I entered Dewey's, the scenery was nice. It had a nice decor and gave a warm, modern feeling. As I was the first one there, the service was very attentive, and friendly as well. So, the dining experience was nice. As far as the pizza, it was extremely flavorless. I got an 11" pizza with their red sauce with sausage, pepperoni and Canadian bacon. First, let's talk about the toppings. The sausage was small and, well, flavorless. This might be why they call it "sausage" instead of "Italian sausage". The pepperoni was traditional pepperoni, nothing special. The Canadian bacon slices were whole slices. While this seems like a nice concept, the Canadian bacon doesn't exactly cook with the pizza, and almost tastes like it just came out of the package. What is even more confusing is that both the sausage and Canadian bacon topping prices are the exact same, but the sizes of both are quite different, with the sausage being extremely small, unlike the Canadian bacon. So, you get the sense of being served generously and being ripped off at the same time. As far as the sauce, it is just a red sauce that tastes only like tomatoes. There is a total lack of any seasoning, such as oregano, or garlic (though I like heavier garlic). As for the crust, while it is light, the only flavor in it is butter. The pizza itself also had no seasoning whatsoever. Again, some seasoning like oregano would be nice. Therefore, the pizza only tastes like a combination of toppings, tomato sauce and a crust, thus flavorless. I would easily give the pizza "one star", but the atmosphere, management and service was nice, which gives it an overall two-star rating. Still, my bill, with tip, was exactly $20 for their smallest pizza with three toppings and a Diet Coke. With that, I felt ripped off. I do not recommend this place whatsoever. There are many other options in downtown Edwardsville, I am recommend them over Dewey's. read more

Food and service at Deweys in Edwardsville is excellent. Especially like the walnut n grape salad and Ryan's inferno pizza. They also over a seasonal taco pizza which is a must. Alcohol selection is very limited. Still my favorite pizza place in Edwardsville. read more

Best pizza in the area. I always get the Edgar Allen Poe. The roasted garlic! Yum! And I love a pizza place with non-marinara options for those who don't love it. I love St Louis style pizza, but Dewey's is for when you want something softer and love a good crust! I feel like I should share, wait time at the door can be long, and waiting for pizza can take awhile. I don't complain about it, because the wait just means they're busy and they make your food to order. But I'd advise going at less typical times if you can, or even ordering carry out! read more

Dewey's is one of my favorite pizza joints around. Definitely give the Dr. Dre a try.

Always have a good experience here! This a go-to spot for us. I love that you can do half & half for the pizzas, including sauces! Only thing I wish was different would be the dessert menu. It changes so frequently and nothing ever sounds appealing. But the service is what's quick, age the window to see into the kitchen is a nice touch. By far one of our favorite pizza chains in the area. We have patronized most off of them in the area. The same quality and service at them all. I have had the white pizza, but my favorite is the traditional flavors and simple pizzas. WE love their salad, even my 5 year old will chow down on a Cesar or Greek salad from here. read more

Oh, the hype! If Edwardsville is good at anything, it is certainly good at building a ton of hype for new restaurants. I'm not convinced Dewey's deserved such hype. The pizza is fantastic. No complaints. Funny names, great toppings, all around delicious. Here's my qualm: PIZZA IS ALL THEY HAVE. My friends argued me on this, pointing out that it is, after all, a pizza place. However, when I go to a pizza place, I want my traditional "other" options. Love breadsticks and pasta? Or STL's famous toasted ravioli? Well forget about it, because you get pizza. After hearing lots and lots about Dewey's, I was invited by a friend for a fundraiser so I finally took the opportunity to go tonight. My disclaimer is that I generally prefer Chicago-style pizza (also known as real pizza) as opposed to St. Louis "style" pizza (i.e. Imo's). But, I'm not usually in Chicago so I settle for what's around. What Dewey's produces obviously doesn't fall into either realm and it provides a trendy experience for the Edwardsville area which rivals (but does not top) Peel - my personal non-Giordano's pizza around here. That being said, we had a pretty decent southwestern bbq chicken pizza at Dewey's. The crust alone is worth lingering over, and the pizza had a very balanced amount of bbq sauce. Some bbq-style pizzas tend to overdo the sauce ("we're calling it a bbq pizza so we better smother it"), but this was a measured amount which I appreciated. It had roasted red peppers and supposedly "black bean corn salsa." My judgment is that it leaned towards the Black bean and corn rather than the salsa. We split the 17" pizza and that ran around $21. Also had a Strawberry Macadamia Nut salad which was decent but a bit overpriced at $4.95. In other news, when I was there one of the tap offerings was a delicious North Coast Scrimshaw Pilsner. I highly recommend that choice while it's being offered - very smooth. In closing, I approve of the pizza I had tonight. I would describe it as "measured" rather than crazy bold, but it still is a solid contribution to the pizza realm. read more

We ordered the meatball pizza 17 inch crust. I loved the texture of the crust, chewy. Neither of us were huge fans of the globs of mozzarella... I guess we like more even cheese coverage and lots of it. The service was great. I am sure we will be back though we may build our own or try the calzones. read more

Edwardsville has quite a few pizza selections in town but Dewey's is one of the places on top of my favorites list. This tends to be a popular place but sadly it does not have a lot of space for the many people who want to eat here. However I do like that you can reserve ahead through the yelp app as long as your party isn't too large. I will say my favorite pizza here which was seasonal was the taco pizza. read more

I love these pizzas. They have a good selection of specialty pizzas. The salads are also good. They will let you buy their dough. On some busy weekends, I will just go there to pick up dough that is various sizes and prices (even keeps well in the fridge for a couple days until you are ready to make a pizza at home). read more

My wife and I had been wanting to try Dewey's out for sometime but always found our way to other great places to eat in the area. We stopped in today for lunch to try them out. We enjoyed it very much. We ordered two separate 11" pizzas and the polite waitress suggested to half and half medium pizza to save $6. The pizza was very tasty. We had a meatball and the Ryan's inferno pizza (Buffalo chicken). It arrived promptly and fresh. They also kept our drinks full. The entire place including the rest rooms are very clean. Very affordable and great tasting food. So why just 4 stars??? It is a bit loud and hard to hear each other. Now this is a small issue and really does not take anything away from the entire experience. Bottom line 4 and 3/4 stars for the entire dinning experience. read more

Pizza is pretty good, nice choice of ingredients and restaurant has nice atmosphere. The pizza has great flavor, but can be expensive and portions are smaller. Dough is good nothing extravagant but the way they cook their pizza changes the taste profile of the pizza. read more

Our family loves Dewey's- my three boys stand where they can see the pizza artists throwing dough- and they always play with the kids and make funny faces. They have a great beer selection, delicious pizza, and yummy salads- great place to take your family! read more
