Dewey's Pizza has one of the best cheese pizzas I've ever had! Every time I am in Kansas City, I must get my Dewey's fix. What a great pizza place with excellent service, amazing pizza and overall a fun experience. I'll start with the pizza. Their cheese pizza has the tastiest red sauce, literally talk about a real cheese pizza. This sauce has a little spice, not too much, but better than most! They have so many different types of pizzas, one for absolutely anyone, kids, vegetarians, gluten-free crusts, you name it - everyone will enjoy. Also, can we talk about their crust?! It is so good, it's worth every carb! Besides the cheese (the Dewey's Original), I recommend the Porky Fig and the Don Corleone! They have some local brews on hand as well! The service is excellent from the second you walk in the door; kind, attentive and let's talk about celebrating your birthday there! They go above and beyond for adults and kids, pretty awesome! When I used to visit my family in Cincinnati we would always get the pizza dough from Dewey's to make our pizzas at home. When my husband and I bought our first house, I was so excited to realize there was a Dewey's five minutes from our house! The crust is just as good as I remembered, light and fluffy with a nice crisp. This has become a favorite of my husband and in laws. Their menu pizzas are unique and delicious, but they have tons of fresh toppings if you prefer to build your own. We have a vegetarian in our group, and there are plenty of options, though the Green Lantern and Edgar Allen Poe are some of our favorites. Tonight we tried the Don Corleone to indulge our carnivore side. There's a limited craft beer selection and some canned options, as well as wine. Great for families, kids, and dates alike. We've had several different waiters, but they're always helpful and engaging. Upscale for a pizza joint, but still has a casual, relaxed environment. So the Neighbor's app was discussing pizza joints in the area and Dewey's came up several times. Tonight was the night we got to try it. I had my heart set on the Figgy Pig pizza and we ordered it 1/2 and 1/2 with the Dr. Dre. Shoutout to the chefs because a lot of places won't do 1/2 and 1/2's with different sauces. Both were very good but Figgy Pig was the big winner! The sweet of the fig, the saltiness of the prosciutto, and the tang of the Gorgonzola was a trio to die for. Tables were spread apart, I am sure this is because of the current social distancing. We also ordered the harvest salad which had generous pieces of fig, pumpkin seeds, bacon and boursin cheese with a nice vinaigrette. And the bacon on the salad was some of the best cooked and chopped bacon I have had. I've posted some pictures of the place so you can get a sense of the atmosphere. Love having this place so close- it's a great neighborhood hangout. The pizza and salads are reallllly tasty. Try the Killer Veggie- definitely not your average veggie pizza. Perfectly seasoned and cooked. And the crust is buttery and flaky- so yummy! I can't seem to branch out from getting the Harvest salad- pumpkin seeds, chèvre, and figs in a light balsamic dressing- so good! The staff is filled with college age kids who are sweet and attentive. Going 4 stars instead of 5 for Dewey's because it is LOUD- definitely not a restaurant for having a quiet, relaxing conversation and meal. And on Friday nights (and probably other nights too, I just really noticed it on Friday,) it's filled with young children. Take that as you wish. read more

I'm rarely in this area of town so we decided to check out this place. I want to say it's new but I'm guessing it's probably been there a couple of years. They have really only pizza on the menu and some salads, which is fine but just know there's no garlic bread, wings, mozzarella sticks, etc. Hubs and I shared the full size peppercorn ranch salad and got a large pizza that was half porky fig and half don Corleone. It was all delicious! I love NY style pizza and we really don't see a lot of that here in KC and this is top notch. The Don Corleone was classic topping and the porky fig was quirky so in my opinion the perfect combo. I did ask the manager on the way out what the ownership was - local/franchise/chain, etc just because I was curious. He said it was a small regional chain out of Ohio, about 26 restaurants. read more

I can finally check Dewey's off of my list of places to try! Everything about my experience with Dewey's was great. We opted for takeout, so we could enjoy pizza by the pool, but the space - indoor and patio - looked very nice. We ordered just after 7 PM on a Sunday night, and it didn't seem busy when we went it to pick up. Our pizza was ready right when we got there (about 15 minute drive), and the box was very warm. We ordered one pizza, but did two speciality halves. I love that we were able to do this! For two of us, we didn't need a ton of pizza, but wanted to try a few of the menu items. We got adventurous with the Porky Fig and went with a classic staple, Meatball. Both were excellent choices! We weren't sure about the Porky Fig, but the fig-base sauce with the prosciutto and cheeses is perfect - sweet with a little bit of savory. The Meatball was also wonderful, with fresh mozzarella and large slices of meatball. They also seemed to have a seasonal pizzas that rotate pretty regularly, so I'll definitely be keeping an eye on those! read more

When we called in our order, the person we spoke with was extremely professional and personable! When we showed up for curbside pick up, the team continued to be extremely friendly, coordinated, and made it a convenient and safe visit! On to the food, my wife and I did a half and half 17inch pizza. I had the meatball and it was delicious. The sauce had awesome flavor and there was generous portions of toppings! We had exceptional service by Mercedes?...(I don't recall her name, but that's what our receipt said) she told us she moved from StL, she was exceptional. We had 1/2 Dr. Dre 1/2 meatball, so we could try the 2 sauce options. Both were really good. I'm a fan of the red sauce here for sure. They also have nailed the crust. This is a really good pizza place, although it's a bit pricey. We met up with some friends of ours and we had all our children. The service was excellent. Very attentive, great with the kids, and easy to deal with on splitting the bill. You can do half/half on your pizzas. We had done the Caprice and Socrates' revenge. I'll say this - they LOAD UP on the olives for Socrates' revenge. The pizza flavors are great. The tomatoes on the caprice were so flavorful - I was genuinely surprised. I like their crust as well. Chewy yet crispy - totally feels homemade but looks better than anything I would do! Finally - good prices on beer and wine. I have two wishes: Something for the kids (a little smaller) And maybe some appetizers as well. I have no doubt they'd crush the app menu. read more

It's hard to find fault with the pizza at Dewey's, it truly is fantastic. Their salads are equally amazing. That's not why I felt Dewey's earned a one-star rating. My beef is with their wine menu. Dewey's is a beer and wine only establishment -- that's totally fine. But whomever designed that menu did so with what appears to be complete and total disregard for customer preferences. For instance, if you don't drink craft beer, you're pretty much out of luck with extremely limited other options. And if you drink wine, the team responsible for the menu offerings apparently think you're an idiot. Wine by the glass and by the bottle pricing is in line with fine dining restaurants in the area (I know, I frequent them). It's both laughably ridiculous and insulting. For instance, we went to Dewey's last night for a birthday celebration. Two of us drink wine, one beer. The $56 bottle of Pinot Noir that I begrudgingly purchased cost half the price of feeding a family of five at Dewey's. Even their staff is embarrassed by the pricing on the wine menu. They know how ridiculous it is, and they have the unenviable job of being on the front lines when customers express their disbelief and their frustration. When we want to dine out, which is often, we often consider Dewey's because we love their food and love their attention to customer service. But in most instances, knowing what we do about their wine menu and how that makes us feel as customers means that we go somewhere else. Dewey's should fix that. read more

This is definitely a "depends on when you go and what you order" kind of place. For starters, the pizza crust is excellent and the perfect blend of crisp and chewy. There are a wide array of options, but we had a Ryan's Inferno and the seasonal taco pizza. The taco pizza was excellent and had a good sauce, crisp baked toppings and fresh lettuce and tomato. The Inferno (a buffalo chicken pizza) had minimal chicken and flavor. It's listed on the menu as having Gorgonzola and ranch, but the primary ingredient is the shredded chicken and there isn't much of that (nor buffalo sauce). Trying new things may lead to a new reason to make it a go-to, but overall just average. Would also note that this is definitely a kids and family atmosphere as evidenced by the noise level around dinner time. If you're looking for something quieter, would recommend going a little later. read more

Ordered one half and half pizza last week. One half was Ryan's Inferno, I loved the idea of a buffalo chicken pizza especially after enjoying many of them from Trader Joe's. This one bore no resemblance to any kind of buffalo chicken I've ever eaten. The pieces of chicken were small little scraps that had very little taste. There was little to no buffalo sauce/flavor of any kind on them or on the crust as a sauce. Whatever the sauce was made of was quite salty. There was no heat in this pizza at all so I am not sure why it is named "Inferno". The only blue cheese I tasted was in the drizzle and it was so watered down w/ ranch dressing (I assume) so as to almost taste like fake cheese. The celery was good and at least it tasted like real celery. The other half was sausage & mushroom w/ red sauce. The sauce was lacking any spice or flavorings to speak of and was also quite salty. The mushrooms were chopped in a rough, fine texture so the mushroom flavor was lost. The sausage was some kind of thin slices that bore little resemblance to the Italian sausage flavor I expected. This is the second time I have eaten Dewey's Pizza and it is the last time I will eat there. It was a total waste of money. read more
