I am starting prep for my first bodybuilding competition, and I wanted to get a body composition reading prior to starting prep so I can see where I am currently and compare it to where I am right before my show. Although a DexaScan is on the pricey side ($125), I wanted more accuracy than my home body fat scale or an InBody scan would provide. Booking through the DexaFit website was quick and easy. They sent several text and email reminders leading up to my appointment as well. When I arrived for my appointment, Savanah was waiting and addressed me by name. There was a little paperwork to complete, and she thoroughly explained the process and chatted while the scan was taking place. She was very knowledgeable and personable and a great representation of the company. My results were actually much better than I expected and my body fat was actually lower than what my home scale registered. I received a full printout of my results as well as had my results emailed. 4 months ago, I wanted to see if I could lose fat and gain muscle at the same time. The problem was that a simple scale didn't give me the information I needed. I recently had a DXA scan completed here and I came back for the Resting Metabolic Rate test. Both tests give you a wealth of knowledge about your specific caloric needs, bone density, body fat percentage broken down by specific regions of your body. For instance, my body fat composition includes 20% in my arms and 33% in my abdomen of which is broken down further into visceral fat composition. There are 100 other data metrics you get from these tests and scans, these are just the highlights. Everything is super friendly and the price is very reasonable. You get the Costco bulk rate style pricing, if you buy 6 tests up front, that don't need to be used right away, then the pricing comes out to 65 per test. I opted for two tests at 90 a piece. I first did a DEXA scan in Vancouver and it was quite the eye opener! Doing a DEXA scan highlighted a number of issues I needed to improve about my body, namely - 1) I was skinny fat, 2) I was osteopenic, 3) I had some left / right body imbalance that I wanted to fix stat! I was happy to find DexaFit. I called in and spoke with Tammy (the owner) and was happy she could squeeze us in same day. DexaFit offers more than just a DEXA scan - she also does V02 max tests and your resting metabolic rate . I decided to sign up for all 3 tests. DexaFit offers different packages of tests, and I was glad Tammy let my partner and I split the highest plan between the two of us. As the other reviewer mentioned, it's great there are no hidden fees. What you see is what the price is, and there was no attempt to upsell us either. If you're interested in DEXA, you just need to wear comfortable clothing, but if you're interested in your V02 max and your resting metabolic rate you'll want to make sure you come fasted (ideally for 4-5 hours before). The DEXA scan takes about 15 minutes, the other two end up taking up to 30 minutes each. Tammy was really friendly throughout the process and helpful in explaining the results of the test. Overall, I felt motivated to see the results of the work I put in. If you return after your first test, your report will show you a trend line for improvement.
