My husband and I have been to every CM Chicken in Columbus and have not been disappointed. We typically order out and the serving size and taste is never effected by getting it to go. The Rose Tteokbokki with cheese is perfect and the curry and cheese monster chicken are flavorful and juicy. We're happy to finally have one close to home.

Very good chicken. You also get great portions. I want to go back and get something different.

I realize that a lot could be happening behind the scenes at Bonsai that I am not aware about. From…read morea customer's perspective though, the food quality has noticeably declined. It's not that the food is bad per se...but it's not good, especially for the price. For instance, we were served only two banchan - kimchi and gamja bokkeum that tasted deep fried rather than braised. At other Korean restaurants in Columbus, I've gotten up to nine banchan. The seafood pancake, which cost a startling $18-$19, was decently crispy but not particularly generous with the fillings. The jajangmyeon was straight up not good. I've tried making jajangmyeon at home a few times and it's never turned out well; somehow the sauce is just missing an extra...something...that only seems to come through in restaurant jajangmyeon. Bonsai's sauce tasted like the sauce I made at home: simultaneously too bitter and too bland. Most irredeemable for me though, was the soggy texture of the noodles. The only dish that I enjoyed was the kimchi dolsot...but it's also the easiest to make so... In the past, I've been okay with Bonsai's steeper prices and white clientele. The food was worth it to me! Now, however, I'm not sure I will be back unless there is significant improvement.

I ate here once when it opened, but never think to go there even though it's just a mile from my house. It was a convenient lunch option, so I stopped in for some sushi and bibimbap, both which were really good. Bonsai is now officially on my radar. I was here (solo) at a later lunch hour, so the dining room was quiet, and the service was all mine. The ambience is warm and the service was great. They sent out a complementary plate of crab rangoon, which isn't my favorite, but a thoughtful gesture. Definitely recommend. * I have subsequently been here a few more times, and each time has been very good. I mostly have got sushi, but the bibimbap is consistently nicely done.* hello

Their drink menu was extensive and had summer limited time options. They had some mocktails as well. We ordered the bulgogi egg roll, truffle fries, and Korean fried chicken. I'll start by saying the flavors were all really good, but our chicken and fries were cold when they got to us. We asked if they could heat them up quickly but they were unable to take the food back to do that. It was a little disappointing but it was still good so it wasn't the end of the world I guess. We got to play some games while we were there and chatted with the bartender about the movie theater next door. Also the bathroom was clean which is a major plus. Overall, I would come back since the food was yummy. Just wish it was warm.

Or rather, it's ballpark Korean, kind of like Taco Bell is in the ballpark of Mexican food. It's kind of like Chipotle: you can build your own bowl. Start with greens or rice or noodles. Sweet potato noodles, which don't taste like sweet potato, but come across as close to rice noodles. I also got the Korean beef, which is pretty much bulgogi. And a few veggies: corn, pickled onions, sprouts. I forgot the avocado I wanted, but that is extra anyway. I got all that as a free bowl because I have the app. You had to spend five dollars, so I got a side of pineapple and a drink, for six dollars total. So yes, free food probably swayed my opinion a bit. But also it was pretty good, and at least slightly healthy. And the service and atmosphere were excellent. Helped by a couple of people behind the counter, and they were fast, friendly, and helpful. The place is bright and clean. Not super big, but with efficient seating for a couple dozen people. Parking was easy. All in all a good experience. I'm still not a huge fan, because I like real Korean food and this only hints at that. But for a fast, reasonably cheap, reasonably healthy meal, this is a decent option.
