First time here and nothing was less than exceptional, we walked in to live piano being played, we were unsure whether to order at the counter or sit and wait and a nice gentleman told us to grab a seat anywhere. We came back here after a few years because I remembered how much I loved the puttanesca. I'm happy to say it's still just as delicious. What surprised us, however, was being charged $2 for a small cup of hot water with lemon. We were never informed that there would be a charge, nor was it mentioned when we requested it. In all our years of dining at restaurants, both locally and internationally--this is the first time we've ever been charged for hot water with lemon. We were also charged for an extra serving of rolls. Initially, I requested a roll without garlic, but the server explained that the rolls were already prepared with garlic butter, so we agreed to have them served. That was perfectly fine since my husband and son ate them. Later, after we had finished our pasta, the server offered another serving of rolls, he mentioned he has non garlic butter on them. We politely declined, but he said they were already prepared and would serve them anyway. Because of that, we assumed they were complimentary. We only realized when we received the bill that we had been charged for the additional rolls. While we still enjoyed the food, we believe these charges should have been clearly communicated beforehand so customers can make informed decisions and avoid unexpected surprises on the bill. I feel ripped off. I jpicked up two meals through Too Good to Go. They were listed as a $24 value each. I am fine that you are using this app to increase your business and not to save food waste. But as a customer trying you for the first time I was extremely upset. I recieved a bowl of pasta with almost no sauce and a roll for each of my two bags. No meat, no cheese, no side item. I've ordered from here twice and both times I've been impressed and satisfied. The food is really good. I only deducted a star because of a price point concern. I get the spaghetti with marinara and no meat. I'm not a vegetarian. I just like spaghetti with no meat sometimes. Come to find out, the spaghetti with no meat is the same price as the spaghetti with meat sauce and the spaghetti with meatballs. It doesn't make sense. The same dish without meat should not cost the same with meat added. As such, it feels like you're paying for something you're not getting or don't want. This is just feedback. This place should me hopping, but it is off the main drag. The meat lasagna is amazing. All sauces are scratch and the prices are affordable for someone on retirement. I ordered in food from this restaurant through Grubhub. The meal I selected did not mention a major, mainstream allergen that I am strongly allergic to. Nonetheless, I left a note mentioning my allergy and asking specifically to avoid this allergen. Well, when my food arrived, it was drenched in the stuff! I had to toss my meal out. This could have been avoided easily, as it was just drizzled on top, and could have been omitted - it was not a key ingredient. This restaurant is utterly careless about allergies. One day, they'll send somebody to the hospital! Luckily, in my case, the allergen was obvious, so I was able to spot it and throw out the meal before being put in contact with it. I was out of a meal, though, and went hungry. I then had to fight with grubhub to get reimbursed. I had to escalate to a supervisor. In this day and age, one would think that a restaurant would be aware of the key allergens and not be so careless. SHAME. read more

The food was delicious too...the house salad was super fresh, onion rings were hot and crispy! The gnocchi was fluffy and light with a nicely balanced, not too tart red sauce. The eggplant parm was good too. Bread rolls were warm and soft. The quantity is huge, we had to pack half of it so that we could have dessert. We were craving some Italian food and decided to try out a new Italian place! We came here during COVID and we're very impressed with the precautions that they took. The waitress stood a good distance away from us while taking our order and had her mask on correctly. Overall, the service was wonderful! We ended up getting the spaghetti and Mussels alla di Rosani. They were both FANTASTIC! The Mussels alla di Rosani was cooked in white wine and you could just taste every flavor in the dish. The dish came with plentiful mussels and the shrimp were a decent size. I would 100% get this dish again! The spaghetti was also amazing. Hubby deemed this one of the best spaghettis he's had. This place is also really close to Baylor Scott and White Hospital, so if you have someone that may need takeout while they're waiting for their loved one at the hospital.
