    Joe's Spaghetti
    John W.

I love this place! Have been here several times, usually order pizza by the slice and/or garlic knots. Both great options. Today I tried the spaghetti and really enjoyed it. I always get treated well here. Prob my favorite local lunch spot!

    Incorrect hours

This place is barely open. The door says they close at 7pm, The reality is they apparently close at 5pm. Which I was told when I complained since I had come twice to find the establishment closed. According to the extremely unapologetic woman at the counter the owner just hasn't taken time to change the outdoor signage. Then she mentioned something about covid which I'm pretty sure was like 2 years ago now. Get your sh*t together people! Your customers time is valuable don't waste it by posting incorrect hours. They're lucky this place isn't actually in NY or someone would have thrown a brick through their window for pulling crap like that. THIS IS A LUNCH ONLY ESTABLISHMENT. Such a waste as its next to several developments with thousands of residents, has decent food and could actually be an awesome place. However, lazy owners that only want to work a few hours a day ruined what could have been a solid place. Maybe they'll sell and someone who wants to own and run a restaurant will buy it. Here's to hoping!!!

Best NY pizza place in North Texas

I love pizza. I love all kinds of pizza. I love going to New York and having their pizza. I now love going to Famous Joe's in Carrollton to get New York Pizza, pasta, stambolli or you name it from a real life New Yorker. How do I know he is from NY? Go there and you will see for yourself. He is no nonsense kind of guy who makes unbelievably great food. The many varieties of pizza by the slice, the traditional stromboli, calzones and pasta's are just like you get in New York from real New York italians. Not to mention the attitude. That makes you feel like you back on the Manhattan streets during lunch rush. order, pay, sit down and wait. If you want true New York itialian food, go give Joe some time and he won't let you down. They do full pizza's as well if you need to feed a group. Love this place and I make time to go there when I on this side of town. It's right off Valley view and the GBT behind the QT and Jack in the Box.

I love coming to this place. I eat here once a week and the pizza is always great. But today this is what I got served for a carry out order. They should've known this wasn't good when it was packed up. It was a to go order so they probably thought I wouldn't notice till I got far away. Just do better.

I came here for lunch and man was I glad I did! The places that serve true New York style pizza are all becoming too few and far between in the Dallas area. This place does it and does it well! They have several lunch specials that are pretty reasonable. I got the lunch special that has two slices of one topping pizza and a drink. I ordered two slices of hamburger pizza. The slices were huge and I could barely eat both of them. But most of all they were delicious. A true New York style complete with a brick oven cooking that gives the nice flavor. I have not heard a famous Joe's before but I'm glad I stumbled upon them and I will definitely be back!

Sooo, I visit here quite often, the man Rick, that left such a rude, unnecessary comment, is upset and trying to make this restaurant look bad... but let me tell you, its not. Sorry Rick, but Joe's a really cool guy, I think you should go during open hours and give them one more chance. It'll change your life! My coworkers and I drive for 20 mins during our lunch time to get here, because the food is amazing and the staff is great! They're hard working, Joe is shouting out orders in his New Yorker accent (we love this, Joe!), they make the pizza right before your eyes and that place is always packed. Every time I walk in, I feel like I've traveled to a NewYork pizzeria and that's freaking awesome! This is MY, little New York. In my opinion, Famous Joe's have the best cheese pizza, the pizza crust is my fav part... lol don't tell the crust haters. They also make this AMAZING pasta, the Arrabbiata Pasta, it's perfect, creamy and a little spicy... holy smokes, it's the best! Also, they have a never ending menu and so many more options. With that said, Thank you Joe, and your entire family/staff for the delicious food you make and for the good service! We, real Famous Joe's customers, appreciate you!

Great New York pizza slices made fresh and full of toppings and cheese, you can even see fresh basil in the sauce.

I've never had anything that wasn't perfectly prepared, flavorful, and served the correct temperature. And that's what really matters in a restaurant, of course. But the vibe is odd. I can't put my finger on it. It's "clique-y". Every time I come, I walk into an empty restaurant with no host. And it seems I've walked in before they opened. They have lots of private events which are walled off with weird partitions. And they sometimes (according to others I overheard) completely close down for private parties. I don't ask for much. I require very little attention. I grossly over tip. And, yet still I feel very unwelcome in this restaurant that I have frequented several times. I don't get it. The other customers were very nice to me, but the staff seemed annoyed by my presence. It's bizarre. Anyway, the food alone earns them a top rating. Pro tip: Do NOT sit at the bar. They don't tell you this: but it's for the regulars. You'll feel like you've wandered into a party you weren't invited to. AND.....order the Prince Edward Island mussels!

The owner of the restaurant took our order and offered good suggestions. He raved about their Tiramisu and we wanted to try if for dessert. The starters we tried were well seasoned and flavorful. The pasta bowls come with breadsticks and is perfect for one. The bowls are not shareable but the flavors were excellent. Do try the tiramisu for dessert. It is highly recommended. Plenty of parking available in the strip mall. The restaurant offers beer, wines and cocktails with a full bar service. Pricing: Not an inexpensive restaurant but it's worth the money you pay. Fortunately, our group of 20 had made reservations prior to our visit. After looking over the menu, we chose the "RonI One." It had pepperoni, bacon marmalade, tomato sauce and house made Mozzarella. Sounds yummy! I was also intrigued with their speciality cocktail menu. They had me at the "Limoncello Margarita." What's not to love about.Limoncello? John T, our server, took excellent care of our group. After a short wait, salad, pies, and pasta started arriving at our table. Our Roni One was a wonderful mix of sweet and spicy. What a great pie! We'll definitely have to check out one of our local Cane Rosso's in the future.

We ate at the Carrollton location last night because it was halfway between our house and my cousin's and his wife's house. Doubt we will purposely return to Carrollton anytime soon. I'm giving a rating of three because the food was a five and the service was a one. I actually don't write reviews very often, and I don't think I've done one in the last two years. But the guy who waited on us was rushing us out before we even got our drinks. We ordered our drinks, and he said, "it's going to take a while because the bar is backed up." (suggestion: That's not a great opening line.) "Do you want to go ahead and order your food?" (To which we said no.) He seemed put out from the get-go. Finally, I had to tell him directly, "We're not in a rush, even though you are." He's probably late 20s, dark hair, a beard, and overall a really poor performer. If he doesn't like his job, he should go do something else, though I doubt he's qualified to do much other than be on welfare. We bought four entrées, an appetizer, and two rounds of drinks. We probably would've bought more but for this really poor waiter. This is a good restaurant with very good food and a good concept. You (owner/manager) need to take much more care on the people side. It's hard to hire good talent these days but you need to do better than this. Good luck. But you need to realize there are way too many choices out there. And, if anything, this review is quite generous.

The concept was a delight, all you can eat course dining where you can try everything and order more of what you like. When you sit down, they bring each of the four course out in full to your table and give you time to enjoy each plate. The first course was a simple course of a light cheese dumpling soup and warm fresh bread with a variety of spreads. We found this course an excellent introduction and the soup was exceptionally executed. The second course was a course of appetizers. This is the course we liked the best, the large number of small plates really made the meal feel lavish and each dish was high quality and made with care. I loved the grilled cheese and the spiced apple sauce served with the chicken was delicious. The third course was the entree course, consisting of a number of grilled steaks, poultry, and pasta dishes. The chicken was a bit salty for my tastes but the pasta and the steaks were competently prepared. Lastly, the fourth course was a delightful dessert consisting of flan, chocolate mousse, and a passion fruit mousse. The passion fruit mousse was especially good, but I think each of the desserts worked well to balance each other out. I would like to see dessert with some more variety of texture. The service was perfect, our waiters came around at just the right times and took care to tell us about the dishes on offer. I was equally impressed with the atmosphere. Overall, the dinner price is a little steep, but I think it is well worth it. We will certainly be returning!

It's a bit of a Brazilian steakhouse style (stuff is brought around and you say if you want some of it) and them bringing you the most massive amount of plates that you can ask to refill infinitely. Our bread, soup, and appetizer courses were highlights. The bread was great with multiple spreads, the soup was cooked perfect, and most of the appetizers had a unique twist and quality taste. We enjoyed our steaks and pasta enough, but some were just not worthwhile in small ways--there was a flavorless four cheese pasta for example, and the garlic parm chicken was somewhat salty. The picanha was a bit tough on the outside but perfect inside. None of it was blowing my socks off, but definitely on the good side. Lastly, our dessert course was wonderful. All 3 were perfect, and we were told by I presume the manager to focus on the passion fruit one, which was stellar. If I returned, I'd be interested in trying a fun drink. They have several non alcoholic options that caught my eye. We were very well waited on, and never were left wanting or waiting. The manager himself came around several times and chatted with us a bit. I wish the water glasses were larger so I wasn't pouring constantly, but that's a small gripe. Overall, we enjoyed it here and are already thinking of friends and family to bring next time!
