i drive from West LA to visit Dr. Natalie Hoshi -- usually takes me about 1-2 hours depending on the traffic. That alone should speak volumes about Dr. Hoshi, her practice, her expertise and the staff at Diamond Bar Optometric Center. Upon walking in the door, i am always immediately greeted by Angelina, Hali, Claudia and/or Walter -- Diamond Bar Optometric Center's professional, friendly, helpful and very patient staff. Dr. Hoshi herself is very kind, thorough, patient and intelligent. Dr. Hoshi and the staff also use the latest technologies -- one of them being a machine that can take pictures of each eye so you can see the nerves, optic nerve, cornea and whatever else is going on with your eyes - so things can be detected and diagnosed earlier on! Dr. Hoshi always patiently listens to any concerns and answers every question i have regarding my eyes. Towards the end of each exam, Dr. Hoshi also puts together a makeshift pair of glasses that i can look through to get an idea of what my new glasses will do for my eyes. Better equipped with knowledge about my eyes & their needs, i am ready to shop for frames! Diamond Bar Optometric Center's Frame selection is amazing! I usually take about an hour or so to decide on a frame - there are SO many brands & styles to choose from! i always want to purchase 2-3 pairs, but my budget keeps me in check and i end up puchasing only one pair of glasses. The staff is extremely patient, kind and helpful during the choosing process. Dr. Hoshi and her staff are also very thoughtful and definitely go the extra mile to take care of patients. i am usually almost always at their office for a few hours, at times they even offer me goodies to eat! I came into Dr. Hoshi's lovely office today with my mom and 6 month old baby. The office is bright, spacious, and modern - and with a little corner devoted to toys, it's super welcoming. Dr. Hoshi was amaaazing. Professional and yet very personable and especially good with my kid! He was being fussy but as soon as she picked him up, he calmed down. She showed me her own glasses when I asked about the unusual coating and told me that it was a "Prevencia No Glare lens" that helps cut down on blue light which is emitted from screens (e.g. laptop, phones). I tried it on and the world seemed gentler and more comfortable! I never felt like she was trying to rush me, nor up-sell me. I was incredibly impressed by Dr. Hoshi and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a friendly neighborhood joint with high tech equipment (she has a retinal scanner!) and beautiful frames. Have been coming to this place for a few years now. The safe was ready with masks,hand sanitizer station as well as temperature check when you first got there. This makes me feel safe and let's me know thy care about my well being and health. Angelina is the nicest and so helpful with me find a new pair of glasses. They have such a variety of frames to choose from. Angelina did not mind going thru a whole bunch of styles with me to help me find the perfect one. I love that she is up to date on the latest trends and definitely made me feel confident in the final pair I chose. FOR ALL THE MOMMIES: I took my nervous 4 year old to get her eyes checked today with Dr Hoshi. GUYS. As a mama, you are always super impressed with how a provider's bed side manner can affect your child's experience. My daughter came home asking to see the "eye doctor" again. Dr Hoshi was so professional, but also silly and efficient when examining my child. She made her feel comfortable and had all these variations of a normal eye exam tweaked for a toddler. Dr also educated me on the importance of eye care and health for littles. Something I didn't know but am now proactive about. I highly recommend this office!!! With the distance learning, we figure it's time for my children to have an eye exam. We scheduled the appointments with Dr. Hoshi. Saturday appointment was a bit hard to scheduled. When we arrived, everyone's temperature was checked and used the hand sanitizer. Dr. Hoshi was thorough, knowledgeable , informative and patient. They went above and beyond to help us get custom lenses to fit our daughters frames since she is so young !! I was a first time customer here and they treated me like I was a long time customer. I found these guys through Yelp. The moment I walked in to the moment I walked out, I felt as comfortable and welcomed as if I had been coming here for years. The staff at the front was super helpful, sweet, and professional. I was already having an awesome experience doing the pretests. When I got to meet Dr. Hoshi, it didn't take more than 5 minutes to know that she was the best optometrist I've ever had, and one of the best people I've met in general. During the session, she was very attentive to my needs and comfort, and made sure I was completely satisfied with my contact lenses. She was extremely knowledgeable about her craft but was also wonderful at transferring that knowledge to a novice like me. 10 Stars!!! I came in for a dry eye test with little hope having had an eye issue for 6 months and walked out with the feeling of "i'm going to be ok" which i havent felt in a while. The doctor is absolutely amazing and knowledgeable. Will ask you if you have any questions throughout the appointment. She is not in a hurry, she takes her time. I just went and a day later i already feel so much better. I have to add that her staff is just as wonderful...from booking the appointment to getting medication to your pharmacy and receiving a text from them. This will be my go to for my whole family. Diamond Bar Optometric Center is right down the street from where I worked so I gave them a call to see if they had any same day appointments. In 45 minutes I was in their lobby filling out paperwork. The receptionist was extremely nice and helpful. Dr. Hoshi was very professional and helpful as well. I had a wonderful experience at DBOC from start to finish! I was a bit uneasy about seeing an optometrist, after having an unpleasant experience with another optometrist couple years prior, but Dr. Hoshi put me at ease right away. She explained everything she was doing and answered all of my questions. I never once felt rushed or intimidated, as I have felt with doctors in the past. She also uses state of the art equipment that I have never seen before. It was cool to see a 3D image of my eyeballs! The office staff were friendly, professional and helpful every step of the way from booking an appointment to helping me pick a frame that fit my face shape. And after 22 years of wearing glasses, I have finally found a pair of glasses that I love!! If you have a low nose bridge and want to wear plastic frames without nose pads or without your glasses resting on your cheeks then DBOC is the place to go!! They have a wide selection of "alternate fit" glasses. Dr. Hoshi also specializes in pediatric optometry. The office is very kid friendly with toys and a play area. I recently moved and decided to come here on a friend's recommendation. First of all, my appointment was in December and they were able to use my 2013 VSP credit for glasses, and submitted an order January 2nd to use my 2014 VPS credit for prescription sunglasses! Woot! On the staff, Dr. Natalie Hoshi looks pretty young, but was very knowledgeable and friendly. She thoroughly answered my questions about my somewhat lazy eye and my interest in lasik. The receptionist, Angelina, also personally helped me decide on a good pair of frames for my face shape. Both of my frames arrived quickly and I barely had any out of pocket! And the place is really clean and organized because some places the space are pretty crowded and when there are people inside it's pretty stuffed. Recently went back to Diamond Bar Optimetric's Center to update my glasses and get my eyes checked. Dr. Nudta was so wonderful and extremely helpful. She showed me my Optos results and talked about the the health of my eyes and keeping them healthy. She also offered me a new products called We Love eyes and i'm looking forward to using it! After my check up was finished I was helped by Angelina to pick out some glasses. Angelina was so great in finding glasses that fit my head, nose and eye shape. I have not worn glasses for the longest time. I finally decided that it would be nice to see clearer at night while I'm driving so I came in for a visit. Dr. Hoshi was really sweet and I felt like she really cared about how well I could see! Professionalism at its best. I don't have enough good things to say about this center. I'm relatively new to LA, so I've been yelping places all over for a good optometry place, and that's when I came across this gem of a place. From the moment I walked in and was greeted by Angelina, to my eye exam with Dr. Hoshi, and to all of them helping me pick out my new frames, everyone here was so incredibly welcoming and eager to help. Dr. Hoshi is by far the sweetest eye doctor I've ever been to and she is genuinely interested in knowing about her patients. Angelina and the other lady at the front desk (forgive me, I didn't catch her name) were so patient, helpful, funny and kind. I never once felt rushed throughout my visit, and they even helped me look for additional frames that they didn't currently have in stock at the center. Dr. Hoshi and her staff are amazing! My daughter came in super nervous for her first ever visit to an optometrist. She started to cry when Angelina was taking photos of her eyes, but Angelina was so sweet about it. I was trying to calm my daughter down in the exam room when Dr. Hoshi entered. Dr. Hoshi was so kind, gentle, and patient with my daughter. She was able to calm her down and continue with the exam. Dr. Hoshi put on videos for my daughter while she examined her eyes. She informed me that she would need to dilate my daughter's eyes in order to get a more accurate prescription, but Dr. Hoshi didn't want my daughter's first eye exam to be traumatic...so we decided to hold on with dilation until our next appointment. Dr. Hoshi also gave my daughter some Disney Dollars to exchange for some toys! That was my daughter's favorite part. After the exam, Angelina presented us with plenty of frame options. Angelina was super patient with us and let my daughter try on every pair she wanted. My daughter fell in love with a pink, cat eye frame. We waited exactly 14 days for the frame...which I totally understood because we came in for the exam a few days before Thanksgiving. When it was time to pick up her glasses, my daughter was SO excited. Walter took his time to make sure that my daughter's glasses fit perfectly. All of the staff are friendly and helpful. I would give more stars if I could! My daughter can't wait until she can see Dr. Hoshi again! read more
