This is hands down one of our favorite vineyards ever! Awesome place to come enjoy a picnic on their lovely grounds and drink some awesome wine! The Wicked Peach is our favorite and the Strawberry is the runner up! Cute gift shop here as well! You will not want to go home empty hand

Great winery in an unexpected place! If it were not for fellow yelpers, I wouldn't have even known about it. There are two tasting options here, 7 tastings for $7.00 or take the glass for $10. Bottles range from $14.99-$24.99. A few whites, several reds, two dessert wines and an autumn cranberry. Some of our favorites were the Cab Reserve, the Foster White and Red, and of course the Decadence which tasted like dessert in a bottle. They have some great seating outdoors and the beautiful fall colors on the trees were awesome.

    First time here great atmosphere

This is a great place to come and unwind. This winery you do have to be 21 and over to be on the premises. Some wineries allow children with parents not this place. They have indoor and outdoor seating. We went on a great fall day and they had there fire pits lit. You could see the grapes from our seats which is always a great back drop to look at. They also have snacks to purchase in case you didn't bring anything to eat with your wine. You will not be disappointed coming here.

Staff was very friendly and welcoming. They currently offer flights, glasses, bottles as well as some light food (cheese & crackers). Enjoyed the Cab, Pinot Noir and limited red "Vendetta". Nice sitting areas provided. Many bring their own chairs and set up near the vines. Will certainly be back.

Nice spot to enjoy a bottle of wine. The wine is pretty good and the grounds are well kept.

We had a tasting of a few wines and then chose ours for the stay.. also purchase a few to bring home and to add to Mother's Day gifts. I was very happy (family surprised me with a little picnic here today for Mother's Day) We got here right when they opened, which was a good thing because it filled up quite quickly.. but you don't feel over crowded since there is plenty of room and it's very spread out. - being you own chairs blankets etc if you want.. kids are allowed, no dogs.. being food/snacks and be ready to have an amazing relaxing time tucked away in a "secret garden" of Johnston! lol

They have tables to sit and drink wine or have lunch, and a flock of very cute fluffy chickens that scatter around. Some families were there and they had ordered a pizza to be delivered there and were drinking a few bottles of wine. We opted to try the 7 wines for $12.00 tasting. The woman doing the tasting was very detailed about the wines and we really enjoyed listening and asking questions. We enjoyed all the white wines with the Cayuga White being our favorite, so we got a bottle of that to take home. I also enjoyed the reds and the rose. The owner was very friendly and loved chatting when we asked about the huge unusual tree - it is his pride and joy - a chestnut tree! We would definitely come back. I do wish they gave more than a very small pour. In some of the wines, we couldn't really get the flavors as there was just not enough wine in the glass to taste fully.

When I arrived she and her husband were having a very genial conversation with the owner Dave at the outdoor seating area. The vineyard is clearing some land and the entrance drive, at the time of my visit, was strewn with downed timber and a large dirt parking area at the end. There is a sign on the street pointing you into the driveway. Once the introductions were over Dave told us about the vineyards he has and the one's he plans to plant. Where he gets grapes from and how he produces his wine. We walked in to the converted barn which is beautifully decorated with a large bar in the center and comfortable seating areas around the perimeter. They have a rack of bottles ready to be sold and a gift box display. The day we went there were four or five wines available. Once a type has sold out, it's done for the season so those who know and like Dave's wine know when to head over to make their purchases. Some offerings are ready in Spring while others are not available until Autumn. I ended up purchasing two bottles each of three of the available wines. The Riesling is a bit dry and not too sweet. Lovely. The Cab had a nice 'full mouth' feel to it and a clean finish. I have been disappointed by other RI wine producers and to be honest I didn't have high expectations. I was very pleasantly surprised. We also had an opportunity to meet Dave's wife and children. This is truly a family business. With each new arrival, Dave made a point to say hello, get their name, tell them his and pour them a glass. We sampled each of the available wines but others came in just to enjoy a glass. The atmosphere was such that everyone was chatty with each other even though we were strangers. It made for a very enjoyable visit. This vineyard is in the woods and the drive up is just beautiful along winding back roads. On a beautiful, sunny Saturday, it made for a very enjoyable day. If I could suggest just one thing it would be to offer a small snack. This may be a sticky wicket as they are a wine producer, not a restaurant and I'm sure that brings up a whole other set of laws. During our visit his 'intern' showed up with a spinach and pepperoni calzone which he offered all around. It was just delightful and I was very happy to have something to eat after sampling several wines. Maybe next time I'll just bring along a snack to share. I hope that's OK.

The owner at first appeared very friendly and accommodating, unfortunately the visit shortly became chaotic. The owner became over talkative and extremely rude. One of my friends understandably became upset about the owner's manic behavior and decided not to participate in the tasting. The owner then became belligerent and started talking about my friend in the third person as if she was not even in the room. She said to us her three friends "oh never mind about her being upset, that's just the way some people are", or words to that effect. Then the owner stated "I haven't done anything wrong. " I attempted to diffuse this situation without success. The owner just became more manic and unpleasant. During this whole situation my friend, who was very distressed by the owner's behavior, remained calm and quiet. We ended the tasting as quickly as we could, bought our wine and left.
