Extremely impressed with this vineyard! I was in the area for the Mushroom Festival at Borders Farm and decided to see if there were any interesting wineries or breweries around (on Yelp, of course), which brought me here. I tried their flight, which offers samples of any six wines on their regular wine list. I chose one white that looked intriguing called Halo. It was one of my favorites of the selection, with nice tropical flavors. Of the reds, I most enjoyed their Twilight, a blackberry wine, and I purchased a couple bottles of this one to bring home. The staff was super nice and even helped me carry my cheese and crackers and flight out to the patio. Service was very quick as I came toward the end of the day. Atmosphere is nice and chill with outside seating (with heaters), some indoor seating and stand up service at the bar. Really look forward to returning here to sample their dessert wines. One enthusiastic customer even shared with me recommendations as I was checking out. Flights are a little higher priced compared to other wineries I have visited recently. Wine flight was $15 and dessert flight was a few dollars more. I LOVE that this winery is 21+ only and also does not allow dogs, which made for such a chill and relaxing experience. I've heard about this vineyard for a long time and I was so excited it lived up to expectations! The inside tasting room was closed but the outside area has plenty of seating for everyone. Some people even brought their own chairs. It is an absolute beautiful outside area, loads of beautiful green grass and the vines are close by. Everyone goes to one main area to be served wine. I only saw prices for bottles and flights, but it appeared others ordered glasses. A flight was $10 for 6 tastings. Service was easy and no issue. They call your name when your flight is ready. I chose the three white ones and three fruity ones. I using love riseling but I wasn't a fan of this one. Everything else though was great! My favorites were the fruity ones. The peach wine hits you strong on the nose. It was almost like juice, it was so smooth. I can easily buy bottles of the three. Overall, this has become one of my top vineyards in the state and I will definitely be coming back. read more

This is a great place to come and unwind. This winery you do have to be 21 and over to be on the premises. Some wineries allow children with parents not this place. They have indoor and outdoor seating. We went on a great fall day and they had there fire pits lit. You could see the grapes from our seats which is always a great back drop to look at. They also have snacks to purchase in case you didn't bring anything to eat with your wine. You will not be disappointed coming here. read more

This vineyard has a large area to hang out and picnic. Although they do sell snacks and have tables, I would recommend bringing chairs and snacks as there are not enough tables on a busy day. They have several white, red, and port options available and they are all pretty good. I did purchase a bottle of port for home. I did a tasting of all the reds and all of the ports while I was there for the afternoon. They also have excellent fruit-based wines and they do sell out by the end of the season. If you like them, you will want to grab a bottle for home. I really like the blueberry. I've been to this vineyard three times now and it gets better each time I go back. Cheers! read more

Great winery in an unexpected place! If it were not for fellow yelpers, I wouldn't have even known about it. There are two tasting options here, 7 tastings for $7.00 or take the glass for $10. Bottles range from $14.99-$24.99. A few whites, several reds, two dessert wines and an autumn cranberry. Some of our favorites were the Cab Reserve, the Foster White and Red, and of course the Decadence which tasted like dessert in a bottle. Absolutely my most favorite local vineyard! Nickle Creek scores top in all areas. They offer both fruit as well as a great selection of of grape wines. Each and every one of them is absolutely delicious! This is one of the few places that I can walk in the door and grab a glass of whatever they pour and know that I will enjoy it. Their grounds are beautiful! They offer seating and picnic tables so you can pack a nice basket full of goodies to share with great wines. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. They currently offer flights, glasses, bottles as well as some light food (cheese & crackers). Enjoyed the Cab, Pinot Noir and limited red "Vendetta". Nickle Creek, it has been a long time - but I am glad we found each other again. The winery has grown so much in the years since I have been, and the wines are fantastic. I even surprised myself and enjoyed your reds (I am typically a sweet or white gal). We uncorked a bottle and enjoyed some wine and cheese outside on a beautiful RI September afternoon. It is still a nice family business, with the winemakers mom and wife in the tasting room sharing the special stories behind the wine and lots of visitors. Nice little winery about 30 minutes outside of Providence nestled in the woods. They have several types of wines from spring to fall, including reds, whites, fruits, and desserts. We have come here several times and have purchased many a bottles of wines. We enjoyed one of their reds so much, the Foster Red, that we used it at our wedding for our guests! Wine is very good. Whites to reds to dessert style wines. Something for everyone. Service....not so good. The "mother" who often tends the tasting bar has little to no personality. I've worked in the wine industry. Had I been this impersonal, I would have not kept my job. It is by no means a good "experience". Sadly, this place has the ability to be awesome. Stopped in by myself right before thanksgiving. Tried 2 wines a port and a cranberry blend, both were good. 3 stars for customer service. When I walked in I was the only one there it took a couple minutes for them to acknowledge me. A very cute tasting room off the beaten path. You can buy cheese and crackers to enjoy outside with a bottle of wine. There is a decent amount of wine that you can choose from to sample - whites, reds and fruit wines. I'm not a fan of fruit wines, so I tried the whites, the reds and on a whim, the strawberry. Our favorite was the red Twilight. It's very, very unusual with a chocolate finish that I normally wouldn't like, but works well in this wine. It comes from cacao nibs. We bought three bottles to enjoy during the holidays with our family. 2 dog white was another bottle that we purchased. Some of the proceeds go towards a different dog related charity every year. Surprisingly, we also bought a bottle of the strawberry. It was suggested we sip, then have a piece of chocolate and then sip again. It tasted like a chocolate covered strawberry. It will make a nice dessert at the end of a meal with some friends. read more

My wife and I were lucky to find Nickle Creek a few years ago, right when they opened. We were on a Sunday drive in the country and saw a small tasting sign pointing down a dirt road. We have been to a handful of wineries throughout New England and Nickle Creek is one of the few that really delivers! With wine of excellent quality, character, variety and value, they have something for every palate! Fruit wines can be overdone or just plain sour, but their's are excellent, and I'm not huge on fruit wine, but I do like how it changes with the seasons. Foster Red and White are very good; with pleasant aromas, full of flavor, and without the harsh burn in many consumer wines nowadays. Their wine is also clearly low in sulfites as I haven't had a headache after even a few glasses, and I tend to get headaches with some commercial wine. The Pinot Noir is excellent, fruit forward and very peppery. I can't wait to see what new wines they come out with over the coming years! I can see they are doing well with the improvements made since they opened; expanding the tasting room, adding facilities, planting more grapes and construction of a beautiful patio and arbor. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy a glass of wine in the peaceful setting among the vines. If you want a behind the scenes look, they are happy to show you the equipment and explain it in greater detail. Another unique offering is their "Adopt a Vine" program, where you can take part in the harvest and other exclusive events they might have. Did the RI wine trail for my 50th Birthday. We visited 5 RI wineries. I'm not a wine expert but I enjoy tasty wine mostly white but finding a taste for Reds. That being said this was #2 on our adventure. Felt a bit rushed here. So wasn't very impressed about the service. Tasted I believe about 9 wines. I really enjoyed the Riesling and Foster White. Ended up with a bottle of Foster White. Very reasonable prices. read more

My husband and I visited this vineyard about a month ago. The wine is superb!!! You can tell that the owners take the time to do their research and produce high quality wine. She was extremely knowledgeable of the various wines, and also shared with us how the company was started. We had her undivided attention throughout the entire tasting. Read a nice article in a local newspaper regarding Rhode Island Vineyards and decided to check out Nickle Creek Vineyard in Foster. When we arrived the place was busy with no room at the bar we decided to wait our turn and look around when the owner asked us if we would like a glass of wine while we waited. What a nice gesture. We selected our wines for our tasting and they were all to our satisfaction. We were overall pleased with their wines.
