3 item combo, orange chicken, broccoli beef, bbq pork
Alixandrea M.

I just was not impressed with literally anything from here. Food was bland even with soy sauce on it. The chow mein noodles had me questioning whether there was any seasoning at all. The bbq pork was an upcharge (which is kind of odd) and came burnt and dry. Tough, like chewing on an eraser. The beef and broccoli was separate in the hot holding area, so there's no sauce on the broccoli. Overall just disappointing, and pricier than Golden Chopsticks which has much better food than here. Won't be back.

Line number 4 on appetizers says fried shrimp, but they told me they don't make fried shrimp here.

The food was good but the service is not. The people are rude. I would give the food a 4 and the people 0, so I decided to make it a 2. I have never been here before and the lady seemed in a hurry to take our order. I asked her if they have shrimp and she said no. I asked her if they do it like as a made to order thing and she said yes. I asked if I could order fried shrimp and she said they don't do fried shrimp- only shrimp and vegetables. So I asked if that had a sauce- I just wanted to make sure I was going to like what I was ordering. The lady looked so irritated that I was asking any questions about the food. She kind of rolled her eyes and asked another lady if this was in a sauce. The lady was like, "yeah- light sauce or dark sauce". Like I'm supposed to have any idea what that means. They were making it too difficult to place a simple order so I told them to forget the shrimp. The restaurant was not very busy and there was no reason to make it so difficult to place an order. When I sat down, I saw a fried shrimp appetizer on their menu. If they were to get friendlier and more helpful employees, I think this place would be great.

Delicious House Special Fried Rice. Chicken, pork, shrimp, egg and green onions.

I had House Special Fried Rice and it was really good. It contains chicken, pork, shrimp, egg and green onions. It's cooked to order except for the strip of bbq pork which they get from the steam table. Fair enough ;)

Chow mein, black pepper chicken, and spicy garlic chicken

The chicken wings has no flavor. The kung pao chicken was just vegetables. The vegetables were good though. They were seasoned just right.

Once again the quality and flavor are lacking. Disappointed!! Sure hope they pick things up again, or they'll lose their old customers. Sad.

Both chicken dishes tasted similar with the same dark soy based gravy. The only difference was a slight red chili oil and black pepper burn in the green bean portion. The Mushroom Chicken was missing the mushrooms except for a single stem. The BBQ Pork was good, though, but slightly dry. The flavor was tasty and it did pair well with the steamed rice. The chow mein was good as well, plain orange colored thicker noodles and bits of cabbage here and there. Portion size is hefty to the point that the take out container barely closed. I ordered a hot and sour soup as well. It was more like a spiced up version of egg flower soup. No wood ear fungus, bamboo shoots, or preserved green vegetable here for texture. Regular white mushrooms were substituted for the traditional wood ear fungus. There is a slight white pepper kick. The soup was okay tasting but visually a bit unappealing with the numerous strands of egg white. I won't return here. Although some Chinese steam table restaurants can be extraordinarily good, this one clearly isn't.

The proteins in the soup consisted of chicken and shrimp. There was plenty of meat for sure. The veggies were broccoli, celery, carrots, baby corn, mushrooms, and bamboo shoots. The light broth had a good flavor as well. When I got this home, I found the container was 32 ounces filled to the brim. I added an avocado and lime juice to brighten the flavors but it was fine as is. It was one of the best valued wonton soups at under $10, considering the generous amount of ingredients in the soup. Highly recommended. I also ordered a Three Entree Combo meal. I had Orange Chicken, Mushroom Chicken, and BBQ Pork with sides of steamed rice and chow mein. The batter on the Orange Chicken was thick but it had a crispy crunch. Mushroom Chicken had mostly meat with just a few pieces of mushrooms and zucchini. BBQ Pork was seasoned well and tender with a few pieces of thick pork fat. These provided a textural contrast but are easily removed if desired. Not too sweet as well which is a plus. The ordered Veggie Egg Rolls were good with a ginger flavored filling. Overall, this combo was a satisfying meal with plenty of leftovers for later. Overall, a good experience with the food here. This Golden Chopstix location is on my list for a return visit, especially for the delicious Wonton Soup.
