My husband and I went into Diamonds Forever because I wanted to make changes and additions to my wedding ring. From the moment we came in Jenny was easy to talk to and listened to what I was looking for. She spent time with me going through every single detail. I have an Asscher diamond and wanted to add trapezoids on the sides as well as add a halo throughout the ring. I saw the rendering and design of the ring and band and was able to stop by and see a mold of what my rings would look like to give the final approval. My fiancé was pretty clear on not wanting a diamond ring and getting moissanite instead (yeah, she's awesome). Well, not really knowing where to start I just googled moissanite rings and thankfully, being in San Diego, I had a few things options! Diamonds forever was one of them and highly rated so I went and checked it out! I'm pretty skeptical about things usually but Jenny was helpful and patient with me as I figured out what I wanted to get. I was still pretty nervous about how it was all going to turn out until I got the ring. It was perfect and exactly what I was looking for( save for an incorrect size I got wrong which was then fixed for free)! Jenny was super understanding and flexible, working on a tight timeline that I gave them. In the end, everything went as planned. The team at DF was really thoughtful and I was very satisfied with the whole process. Note that this is a small shop with a small team. They can customize many different types of rings but they may not have your exact selection on hand to see. I have taken several pieces of jewelry to Diamonds Forever for repair. Very pleased with the results. I wanted a bigger clasp for a necklace to make it easier to fasten but Julie demonstrated that attaching a set of magnets to the necklace would be a much better solution, so I purchased a set for three different necklaces and had Diamonds Forever install them. Before I left my jewelry for repair I received the cost of the repair in writing . Also I received a text message when the repairs were complete. The repairs just took a few days. He said he would give us more than melt-down value, as he was selling vintage jewelry for the aesthetic value. We brought a large box of vintage jewelry to the antique dealer. He picked five pieces out and offered to pay $70 for them. We declined. We then showed Sell My Gold the same five pieces. The prettiest piece was not "real". They gave us $210 for the other four pieces and we got to keep the fun jade bracelet. They also gave us $50 for a few other pieces overlooked by the antique guy. I had a great time when I was here the other day. I did some research of different places all around and I had asked my friends if they knew of any places in the area for jewelry, and this is the place I was sent too. I was looking for an awesome and simple present for a friend as a wedding gift for her since I was her Man of Honor for her wedding. I came in and made the most rookie move ever. I came across Diamonds Forever just doing an internet search of jewelers and jewelry stores. BTW, Jenny is located in Old Town now. I went to meet with Jenny who owns Diamonds Forever, to help me find wedding bands for my fiance and I. First off....it's not your typical jewelry store, but more that of a personal jeweler. We went through all the different options of wedding bands and in the end, I had one custom made and my fiance found one he absolutely loves! All for such an affordable price....a lot cheaper than what I found out there. I also went to Jenny to buy my fiance his wedding gift.....a diamond and onyx cross. He loves it!!! Now anytime I need ANYTHING having to do with Jewelry......Diamonds Forever is the only place I'll go to. Jenny is wonderful. I took my old 80's jewelry in to her and cashed it in for $$, and also had several pieces repaired that had been collecting dust. Now my old pieces are like new, and she also did an excellent job of fixing the 'botched" job tha another jewler had done on a bracelet/watch. Now I can enjoy my beautiful things again! Oh-and she is very honest too. I had so many different things that I wanted to discuss that I forgot about my small diamond that was in their jewelry cleaner. We went to Jared, Robbins Bros, David & Sons, Ben Bridge, and Charles Koll and looked online at Blue Nile and Union Diamonds. It just felt like we were getting cheated. Jared shows one price for their settings, but adds $400 to the posted price for the platinum head. Most places are just too expensive. We ended up with a diamond WAY bigger than we expected within our budget. Jenny knows her inventory, and also has some estate pieces that are really reasonably priced. It feels like she's interested in getting you what you want, not just making a sale, and because she does a lot of the work herself, she doesn't add unexpected costs. read more

What great customer service! First I purchased my (then) fiance's engagement ring here, which could have been a daunting experience for a novice, but was made super easy by Amy. She was super helpful and easy going, no pressure at all to buy from them or to upgrade to a more expensive diamond. I had such a great experience at Diamonds Forever! My fiancé and I are both in the military and at the time we were living in two different states. We decided to have a short notice weddings in Temecula in order to be closer to our families. After countless hours of research we decided to invest in a moissanite engagement ring. When we began our search we realized that moissanite gems are extremely hard to find in store and most jewelers only special order them once you pay a deposit. I was uncomfortable with this option since our window to pick out a ring was literally 10 days. After googling "moissanite rings San Diego" I stumbled across Diamonds Forever and gave them a call to see if they had them in store and by the grace of God they carried them! We worked with Matt through the entire process. He was beyond helpful throughout the process giving us great first hand insight on the gem and allowing us to compare diamond/ diamond simulate in store. Once we picked out the gemstone he helped us find a gorgeous custom mounting. We knew the ring wouldn't be ready before the wedding but 3 weeks after the ring was purchased it was delivered to my door. At first we were very uneasy about purchasing from an independent jeweler because we wanted the option of purchasing a lifetime warranty and to be able to get it services anywhere we lived but I know we made the right choice going with DF. When I started my engagement ring search, I did as much homework as I could, reading about 4 C's of diamonds, wholesale prices per carat, what really mattered for your $, ideal cuts, hearts and arrows, certification, table %, depth %, it goes on and on. My fiancee had indicated interest in vintage style rings (vintage 1940's $40k Tiffany's rings!) so I decided I needed to get one custom made of similar style (not price). I also decided I wanted to get a vintage Old European Cut (OEC) diamond instead of a modern Brilliant round cut to remain true to the time. After researching Jewelers around SD I went to about 5 different places to find the diamond I wanted. At each place I questioned them about diamonds (already knowing most of the answers). Jenny at Diamonds Forever passed with flying colors. She was patient and most importantly answered correctly and wasn't trying to sell me on fluff. She found me an OEC diamond that was better quality than any of the others I had seen. Next was finding someone to make the ring. Luckily most of the original 5 stores custom make rings too. As an engineer I like computers and 3D models and 3D printing of the wax for casting which many Jewelers do to make the ring. However, making a vintage style ring that was perfectly symmetrical seemed like it was disingenuous and would look fake. Jenny convinced me she was the one that could bring my ideas to life with her experienced Jewelsmiths using age old hand methods. The result was a beautifully hand crafted true to era ring. I worked with Jenny every step of the way. Meeting with her several times during the process I was able to suggest subtle changes to the wax prototype to make sure it would turn out exactly as I wanted it. Jenny was even able to have it be made out of 14K Palladium White Gold since my fiancee is allergic to absolutely everything and I didn't want the Nickel in regular white gold to bother her for the rest of her life. Happy Wife, Happy Life, right? What really made the difference is I could tell Jenny was genuinely excited about creating this ring. TLDR; Jenny and the whole Diamonds Forever crew is amazing. I came here over a year and a half ago because I happened to be getting my phone fixed at a neighboring business. I walked in and was greeted by all the employees. They even offered to clean my wedding ring. I was actually looking to purchase a work ring for my husband since his old one made of tungsten and carbon fiber was a little snug. I saw they had silicon rings which I always wanted to get for him because he works with cars so it won't scratch or scuff his client's vehicles and I decided to purchase one for him and one for my son who also wanted one. I was told it would have a lifetime warranty. Well, my husband's ring broke through the wear and tear of his everyday work and when I brought the ring in with my receipt for a warranty replacement they gave me the run around. I called to follow up about it and was told I would get a call back from the owner. Well, I've never received a call back. The ring was $20 which means it would've been even cheaper at cost for this establishment. Instead of calling me and taking care of the situation, now they have a 2 star review. I ended up buying my husband a 5 pack of silicone rings from Amazon for $8.99. I should've just done that in the first place. I mean, for the $50 (2 silicone rings + tax) I spent here though, I was expecting some type of customer service and/or lifetime warranty as I was told. 2 stars for the very friendly, warm, and welcoming employees though. read more

I bought a diamond necklace for my girlfriend for Valentine's Day from Diamonds Forever this year which was the first time I had ever made a purchase like that. I was pretty intimidated at the thought of it to be honest! I had no idea what was a good deal or what was appropriate for the occasion. Right when I walked in, a lot of the anxious feeling went away. Jenny somehow managed to make me forget that I was nervous about the purchase and it turned into excitement. She asked me a little about what I had in mind and a little about my girlfriend, then showed me some suggestions which I maybe wouldn't have even noticed on my own in the display case. We narrowed it down to two pieces and then came the hard part! I finally decided on the heart shaped diamond pendant and wow did Jenny help me make the right decision! Ben runs the gold buying part of the store and after talking with him, I thought it would be really cool to get rid of the chain and use the money for my girlfriends new necklace!
