On my appointment day, Erik alerted me that he could be early, so I gladly accepted. He arrived ready with a face mask (my mother at risk), and got to work right away. He diagnosed the problem with my dryer in a matter of minutes, explained the repair, and offered a quick fix, as well as a discount on some preventative maintenance. Our Frigidaire dishwasher stopped draining after five years of normal usage. I took the whole dishwasher apart and clean out the filter, propellor and such. Still wasn't draining properly. First of all, to revisit the diagnosis and partial repair of your GE Wall Mounted Oven, and explain where to go next. Secondly, to present to you our present standpoint and why we are here. And thirdly, How the future of our professional relationship is going to be from here forward. Your GE Oven: To review your initial stated symptoms of your GE oven, you stated that it would work to a point and then shut down. You would have to let it cool fully to reuse it a day or so later. We see this quite a bit with older units that have more sensitive electronic parts. They wear out, etcetera. Now, you state your symptoms are different. As a professional appliance technician for over 10 years, that tells me that you had more than one issue initially, but to find that out we had to care for one issue first to find the second issue. More than 25% of our jobs go this way. We have to diagnose the major issues first to locate and repair the minor issues. From my experience, your cooling fan stopped working first, then that prolonged and heightened heat in the computer cavity damaged the computer as well. Normally, we would come back in under our service call warranty and reassess and find the subsequent issue, and if there was another part or parts needed, those would then be secured and installed. If the depth of the repair would've changed with the secondary diagnosis, there would be a subsequent, but not equal, a la carte labor fee. In reference to you thinking or feeling like you were overcharged, you paid no more than the average job for the repair done. You can feel what you want to feel, that is your God given right, but you are welcome to call any professional appliance repair facility and fully run our repair past them. You will soon realize two things: One, nearly no other companies would have entertained sending your board back for rebuild. And two, others that would have done it would have been more expensive. Lets talk briefly about your perception of the tax free status if you pay cash. Just because we give a client a break if they cash out, doesn't in ANY way mean we as a company doesn't pay taxes on the income created from your job. It is merely, JUST a good amount to save someone in mere numbers, 10%, not that we aren't paying the tax later each quarter or annually. So, you getting a wild hair about that concept was quite assumptive, yet wrong. Our Standpoint: At this point, we are going to present to you where we are as a company pertaining to you and your job. How would you feel if you did your very best to treat anyone - at any point of your life the best, and all they did was verbally vomit all over the internet about you and what you did or didn't do to or for them? My SubZero refrigerator was making noise, but only sometimes. I was worried because it wasn't making noise when Erik showed up. Erik inspected everything and made some adjustments based on his experience. Since we did not know the root cause, Erik offered me a 90 day warranty. So if the noise comes back, I don't have to pay for another service call. That's an awesome policy. Erik has previously repaired my Samsung washer and Samsung dryer. Today, I found out that he even fixed his own car after he hit a curb to avoid an accident. So I'm sure he can handle whatever you need fixed. I like that this company is so tech savvy. I can email or text to schedule, and Erik even texted me to let me know he was on his way. Was recommended from another tech since they didn't service my brand. Had a Bosch wall oven that crapped out and had to get it replaced. He came out first and did the diagnostic on the oven. He took the time to explain what he was doing so I could follow along. After determining what the probable cause was we researched some part costs and ended up replacing the unit. We were able to reach out to him after we had the replacement delivered and got the install scheduled. We had to wait a few days, but I know how good work is "in demand". When he came out he installed the wall oven, and tested it. He was very professional and he subtracted the diagnostic visit cost from the install bill. UPDATE: to Erik Warren Gatz's response and clearly his response style to every negative review: DENIAL, BLAME, AND UNACCOUNTABILITY! I highly encourage you to read his responses to the negative criticism, It's almost laughable if it weren't so sad! Since hiring Erik, when I evaluate a company to potentially hire based on their reviews, I now also look at how the company handles a client that may have not had that first-rate experience. Given Erik's perpetual vitriol to my evaluation and that of Vanessa A, and basically every other 1 star review, that alone should make any one question wanting to proceed with this business. (look through Diamond Star's photo to see the incredibly distasteful letter he sent to one of his negative reviewers) That should sound an alarm and be warned, should anything go wrong it will be a battle! I would like to point out a few glaring flaws in his rebuttal: he stated I never responded to him and yet I called his office! Does that even make sense? And why would I contact the office unless every other means had not been ignored. Yes I contacted Arwin on the 1st (7 weeks post installation), and even then, Erik's response was 2 weeks beyond that contrary to his assertion otherwise! Sadly that was not my experience. I had Diamond star come and install my Sub-Zero refrigerator and Vent-A-Hood. First off, they damaged my front door bringing it in the house and when I pointed it out they were on their way out and didn't seem to care nor did they even stop to inspect it with any thought of accountability or ideas of rectifying the damage. Secondly, Arvin showed up by himself (Erik was sick) to do the installation only to realize that this was beyond his knowledge, so we had to reschedule when Erik could lead the installation; this being after my hard wood floors were damaged from Arwin getting it into place minus the actual hook up. When they returned to complete the job, Erik said he was a "former carpenter" and would come back to repair the damaged floor boards but still presented an invoice expecting full payment on the spot. 6 weeks post install after hearing nothing about the repairs, I contacted Arvin and Erik. Only Arwin responded saying he would pass on the information to Erik. Erik ignored most texts saying "he didn't receive them" and by the end ceased communication altogether. In his last message he stated that he was on a job and would have to look into it later and get back to me. He has ignored all of my attempts since to reach him. My next step is contacting lni.wa.gov/TradesLicensi... . In the end, Erik was less than professional, proved to be unaccountable to damage of his doing, or to his word to rectify it. Luckily I insisted that the 'paid in full' invoice reflect the floor damage and their obligation to repair it. I would also highly recommend getting a background check on Erik Warren Gatz. When Bree called me to make the 2nd appt, which was repair after initial diagnosis (Monday) and waiting for the part, she offered Thursday which happened to be the one 2 hour block I had something planned for this whole week I was on mid-winter break. I'll make a short story long. I had a gas dryer stop heating. Therefor clothes would not get dry. My wife wanted to purchase a new dryer. I however wanted to have it repaired since it was a good looking machine. The next day I hoped on yelp and started looking for 5 star repairman and found DiamondStar. They were super busy because they have 5 stars on yelp and everyone wants the best. Erik came out the following week and diagnosed the problem. He definitely has more knowledge than most repair man. The week before Thanksgiving and our oven broke! Needless to say we were very worried we would be able to find someone to fix it. I called two places only to find out they don't work on Bosch. One of them referred us to DiamondStar. We called DiamondStar and Bree was very responsive. My experience with DiamondStar was excellent. Per their Yelp page, I emailed an inquiry about a haywire clothes washer. I received a response nearly immediately from Jennifer, who set up my appointment after explaining the (very reasonable) service call charge. I requested a call ahead of the appointment since I have sleeping toddlers in the afternoon. On the day of, Erik called me twice to keep me in the loop. Thankfully our washing machine wasn't actually broken or injured. After some testing, Erik found the problem was related to our haphazard installation. Oops! On 5/1/18 ERIK went to tenant's place to checked on Freestanding Electric Ranges with coil heating elements. he advised 1 burner and 1 switch out but suggested i change both burner which i agreed to, the total quoted was $340+tax, he charged me $280.00 as a deposit and service call. on 5/7/18 ERIK went back to tenant's place to replace 2 burner and 1 switch, he advised there is ANOTHER switch out he is going to replace it and charge me his cost only for the switch no labor, and his cost of another switch turns out to be almost $100.00, i am not sure how that is his cost. read more

We were fortunate to have received a recommendation to consider DiamondStar from a technician who does not work on GE equipment. It says something about the quality of work one should expect when a professional colleague is willing to recommend another. We were not disappointed. Erik and his trainee have just left after successfully completing the repair that was required on a leaking refrigerator, and while we had the benefit of his obvious skills available we asked him to look at a wine cooler that has not worked for quite some time. 5 stars to Erik and his apprentice, Arvin, of DiamondStar. While we were visiting our daughter and her family, my wife found DiamondStar through Yelp reviews to fix a leak in their washing machine. Erik and Arvin came to the house on time near the end of August. After about 15 minutes in the laundry room, they came downstairs with cell photos of the washer, showing that a previous service person had re-attached the drain hose to the washer completely incorrectly, not matching screw holes at the connection between hose and washer, failing to reconnect one screw, and leaving a gap for the water to leak out. After they fixed that problem, I asked Erik if he worked on dishwashers, because the one in the kitchen wasn't draining properly. He said that he worked on pretty much any appliance in the kitchen or laundry room. Without hesitation he fixed the slow drainage in the kitchen unit and showed us the source of the problem free of charge. Our daughter had returned home by then and asked them to also check the dishwasher upstairs. She explained that another service person had told her she needed a part that was discontinued and that it was best to replace the dishwasher. Erik diagnosed the situation as multiple problems and showed her that the part she needed was indeed still available and could even be bought on Amazon. Erik and Arvin returned in September to realign hoses that were improperly placed in the dishwasher's original installation and then installed the missing part in October. The long time frame to fix it was a result of our daughter not needing it repaired immediately. DiamondStar is now one of her go-to service providers. Unhesitatingly recommend them. read more
