I made a stop at this bakeshop after doing my shopping at this neighborhood. Cute little spot. It has a small dining area. I believe it is more popular for take outs, I see in and out traffic. I enjoyed looking on its displays specially of their fruit designed pastries. A unique presentation of each flavor. It's quite a pricey item but worth the try. Cakes on display cabinet has better pricing than my regular bakeshop. I may try to get one on my next visit and make a comparison if worth getting. So far, I enjoyed my visit here. read more

What a beautiful array of holiday pastries. These things look amazing and the taste was pretty good. These Mango one had little bits of mango in the center and that was a surprise and a pleasant one for some. The staff here is friendly and know their pastries so they can help you with any questions. I've purchased several readymade cakes from here in the past for birthday celebrations at work etc however they advertise custom cakes so I decided to get one for my son's 13th birthday. I provided the entire soccer theme I had with a made up country name and everything, in writing via email and I even created a made up country flag which I attached. I was assured that this can be done so I was excited to pick up the cake. When I picked up the cake, they simply printed the flag I attached and wrote happy 13th birthday on a plain white frosting cake and absolutely no soccer decorations. Now I have to present this to my son who is a soccer fanatic. What a complete disappointment. Oh and when I was picking up the cake and what what they provided I gave them another chance to make it right and asked to put something soccer related on it only to be told "we only have basketball and baseball decorations". I cannot in good conscience recommend this place for your custom cakes. read more

Cute, small bakery with cakes, desserts, and even bread. I placed an order through too good to go, but everything looked and smelled so good that I'll be back to make another purchase! The too good to go box came with four doughnuts, a croissant and two rolls. The staff was friendly, everything looked extremely clean and the food was fresh and delicious! read more

This place has beautiful and modern looking cakes. They are not only looking great, they are also tasty! Definitely reasonable price. The bakery itself is always clean, windows and display cases have no finger prints at all. The store people are nice and friendly. I really enjoy going this bakery. I love their mousse cake. Sweet looking but not delicious! So we ordered a cake for an event here. Whipped cream outside, yellow cake and cannoli filling inside. We cut into the cake, gave everyone their slices, and we all started eating. I was so embarrassed the entire yellow cake part was stale. The cake was hard and definitely old cake that they had laying around premade instead of cooking it fresh for the order. I picked up a piece of the yellow part and it crumbled in my fingers!!!! Cakes are supposed to be soft and moist. I never had a cake so stale. The cannoli cream filling had absolutely no flavor. But... BUT.... in the interest of fairness because I don't love to give bad reviews, the whipped cream on the outside was good, and the cake looked very nice on the outside. I really wanted to like what used to be Lulu's here. I was secretly hoping nothing would change with a new management/owner. The cakes are drier than Lulu's. My husband has bought me a few things from here but none of it wowed me, the only thing that I liked was their Oreo mousse. Other than that, I'm not too sure I liked anything else. Maybe I have to try a few more items. Their cupcakes are a little dry as well. Sorry for a not so great review. Perhaps it will change when I try more things from here. read more

I was searching for a bakery to make me a customized cake for my little one's birthday. I had a specific vision in mind and was told to email them to get a quote and send a picture of the design of the cake I wanted. After narrowing it down to two bake shops, I decided to choose The Sweet Life. I finalized everything over the phone a few days before my event and hoped for the best. I was so happy once I saw the cake and even happier once I tasted it! I am not a huge cake person, but the cake was so delicious, soft and the icing was perfect. They executed exactly what I wanted and the price was affordable. The cake was beautiful and was a huge hit at the party! I tried teo pistachio macaroon and this is possible the worst macaroon I've ever had. Extremely hard and stale. Even Trader Joe's frozen macaroons taste better than this. Sad that Lulus is no longer at the helm. read more

I had super high hopes going in, everything looked great. Unfortunately that's where the excitement ended. Got a few macaroons, cupcakes and a rum cake. I've had better macaroons from a 7/11, rock hard and they taste like an old refrigerator. The cupcakes were also hard and stale, the rum cake was sour..really wanted to like this place but can't recommend everything tasted like it was made weeks ago. read more
