When my friend was going through one of the hardest battles of their life with cancer, this incredible team stepped up without hesitation and donated food to help during such a difficult time. Their kindness went far beyond a meal -- it brought comfort, relief, and a reminder that compassion still exists. In a world where small acts of generosity can mean everything, what they did will never be forgotten. Not only is the food amazing, but the people behind this restaurant have hearts just as incredible as their menu. Supporting businesses like this matters. Thank you for treating my friend with dignity, care, and kindness when they needed it most. We are forever grateful.

"Sips, Ribs, and VAI-ful Vibes"…read more Came to VAI for a double date with my husband's best friend, and this place was definitely buzzing. It was packed and pretty noisy, so not the best spot if you're looking for a quiet dinner, but the energy made it feel fun and lively. The drink menu had a lot to choose from--wine, handcrafted beer, cocktails, and mocktails. I ordered the "It's Pink and It's Bubbly" mocktail, which was refreshing and cute without being too sweet. My husband went with a beer and was happy with his pick. We started with the crispy arancini and whipped ricotta with honeycomb. The arancini had that golden, crunchy outside and a warm, comforting center. The whipped ricotta was probably my favorite appetizer--creamy, light, a little sweet from the honeycomb, and easy to keep going back for. For entrees, we had the short rib rigatoni fresh pasta and the prosciutto with wild mushroom white pizza. The short rib was tender and rich, and the rigatoni held up well with the sauce. The prosciutto and wild mushroom pizza had a nice savory flavor and felt a little lighter, but still filling. I can say that VAI is a solid choice for date night, a group dinner, or when you want good Italian-inspired food with drinks and a lively crowd. Just be ready for the noise if you go during a busy time.

It was 5:45, I didn't have a reservation, a they didn't have a table available until 7:30 but there were spots at the bar which they said was full service. My friend and I cozied up to it and ate there. What a surprisingly good experience. The staff was super friendly and that bartenders had great suggestions. I hate when people at the restaurant say everything is good. Not these young ladies. They made some sound suggestions which we followed. French onion soup and the steak frites were both excellent and priced well IMO. They have a really good whiskey/bourbon selection with a few hard to find bottles. I settled on a Blantons neat. They had Pappy, but I'm not wasting money on that anymore. Food came out quickly and we ate and watched a baseball game. The locals at the bar told us about their membership program where I guess for a small mo they fee you get a bottle of wine and a charcuterie plate once a month. Seemed like a pretty good deal. I don't live anywhere near there, but if I did I'd certainly join. In any case, if you live anywhere close, this is definitely a worthwhile restaurant to visit. Seems like there were quite a few singles there as well if you are looking to meet someone. I have no idea what the dating scene is like in Lemont, but this might be a good spot to try.

It is spacious so wait times haven't been too much in my experience. It is in a very active strip mall near the Naperville AMC 16. It's a comfortable setting suitable for dates or for a family dinner. There's outdoor dining available weather permitting. Got the dates wrapped in bacon which are sweet and savory treats. Also got the stuffed mushrooms which were tasty. The French onion soup is a little different from others I've had but its nice. They made pizzas that are between a small and medium so depending on appetite it might be something you share on a date or small group or if you're hungry shoot your shot on your own. The supreme is very flavorful but can be a bit salty. The pepperoni pizza is solid. In other trips I've had their lumpy crab cakes, fried ravioli, and bruschetta (classico, mushrooms, and fig & apple which is especially nice). Their salads were fresh and crisp I've had the Mediterranean and the wedges. Other mains I've particularly enjoyed are short rib ravioli, lasagna colognes, scallops risotto, and butternut squash ravioli. All pretty delicious. The servers are friendly and help with recommendations if you can't make up your mind. Desserts creme brulee or key lime pie. They also have a banana pudding that's quite nice. Some items are monthly so keep in mind if something you especially liked was on the regular menu or just in rotation. Also, I've been here with vegans and they were able to order meals that left them satisfied so I think there's a lot to offer for a variety of folks. Enjoy.

The atmosphere is intimate and cozy, with just the right volume of music to enjoy conversation. The service was excellent, attentive yet unobtrusive. The Eggplant Parmesan and Potato Croquettes (with prosciutto cotto, mozzarella, and roasted red pepper aioli) were also incredible. For the main course, we shared two pizzas: * Burrata & Honey - A perfect mix of San Marzano tomatoes, fior di latte, soppressata, hot honey, and chili flakes. * Diavolo - A bold and delicious combination of San Marzano sauce, fior di latte, soppressata, ricotta, and chili oil. The grand finale was dessert, and the Tiramisu cake was absolutely divine--light, creamy, and the perfect ending to our meal. Overall, Forno is a gem. So I thought we were all set. Our reservation was for 6:00, and we arrived at 5:54. We were told to wait until six, which was perfectly fine. Six o'clock rolls around and we're told they're still cleaning the table. Okay, we wait. Then we wait. And wait. Thirty minutes later, we find out the people who had the table STILL hadn't even left. Baby...what exactly were we reserving three weeks ago, a future dream? They offered us a complimentary appetizer, which I appreciate in theory, but when you've got a party of eight waiting 40 minutes past their reservation time, I'm not really looking for the cheapest appetizer on the menu. I'm looking for the table I reserved. Eventually, we were seated, and thank GOD for our server Alexis B, because they completely turned the experience around. Funny, knowledgeable, incredibly kind, and genuinely one of the best servers I've ever had. If I could give them five stars separately, I would. They made us feel welcome and somehow kept the whole table laughing after that rocky start. The food had some hits and misses. The crab cake was a little too spicy for my taste, although the rest of the table enjoyed it. The mini sliders, however? DELICIOUS. That buttery, well seasoned bun was doing exactly what it needed to do. Then came my Entourage burger, and baby...THAT burger understood the assignment. It was absolutely packed with flavor. So good that I practically inhaled it. My server even asked if I wanted another one because apparently I ate it fast enough to qualify for a second round. Unfortunately, the management situation left a lot to be desired. After the issues getting our table, the managers seemed to keep watching our group throughout the night. If you're going to stare, baby, at least commit to the performance! It made an already awkward situation feel even more uncomfortable. Honestly, my server Alexis B, was the ONLY reason this experience ended on a positive note. They were so charming and personable that by the end, they felt more like a friend than a server. I'm genuinely going to miss them. The food was good, and that burger was fantastic, but a three-week reservation should not turn into a 40 minute wait with a party of eight standing around wondering when they're going to eat. So unfortunately, I'm leaving with two stars. The food gave me reasons to come back, but the reservation experience and management gave me reasons to stay home. And to my server: you were the star of the night. Protect this person at all costs.
