Review is mainly for the service. Took my son to grab a sandwich--his choice of a meal, and he was craving DiBella's bread. We had a few minute wait before our order was taken at the counter--which we were told as we walked in. There was a short delay in getting his meatball sandwich, but nothing that would make me upset. "Julie" was apologetic and communicated this delay to us. A minute later she came out and offered us a drink for our wait. It wasn't just about the "freebie;" it was the the way this upbeat person went out of her way to make us happy. So rare to see. She--and the other employees working--are a real asset to this eatery. .. Had a pretty busy day and swung by on my quick lunch break. They made my sandwich quick on an everything bun and it was pretty good.. The tomatoes were slightly too cold to my liking, but the bread was fresh and flavorful. Also, I think the restaurant would do better w freshly made pasta. I've been to Dibellas in Pittsburgh and was excited to see one in Dayton as I was driving through. I always get the godfather, salami, capricola and spicy ham on everything bread. I love that the bread is thick enough to soak up the homemade oil mix but doesn't overwhelm the sandwich. The perfect ratio! read more

So finally upon my fourth visit to DiBella's I actually had a sub that had some flavor, although it was the meatball sub and about the size of a baby's arm. It was quite delicious, but I am now batting 0.250 at this place which would be acceptable (if not almost exactly the 2016 league average) if I were a professional baseball player. Am I ready to put DiBella's on my lunch rotation? No, no I am not. That said, I am happy to go along with some friends that seem to be ok with the joint. I'd still rather go down the street to The Submarine House, although there prices and dine-in style have changed things for the worse. I love DiBella's ! I think their subs are the absolute best in town. The sesame bread is soft with a nice crunch and lots of sesame seeds. You can choose your own toppings. Cheese is real slices not shreds. Never been unhappy with a purchase. Dining in is still an option - tables are spaced appropriately and sanitizied. read more

This Miamisburg/ Centerville store is by far the worst Dibellas subs shops i have ever eaten at. I absolutely love Dibellas subs and frequent the shop in Blue ash weekly. Here the bread wasnt as fresh, tasted like it sat all day. My meatballs were burnt. Most likely because the staff was too busy visiting with each other as they were all teenagers. The manager would have gotten an earful if i hadnt got my food to go. Sad because now im likely to not eat at any other Dibellas other than the blue ash store. Grow up kids! You do not work at mcd's..stir the meatballs and hush when customers enter..shame on you, manager! for allowing this to happen. read more

I went to college about a quarter mile from DiBella's store #1 and ate there frequently so I was very excited to see one opening in Dayton! After months of waiting I finally went for dinner tonight and it did not disappoint. The bread is what really makes the sub so you can't go wrong with any type but I'd suggest the Dagwood or Godfather. read more

This location is hit or miss with being consistent with the making of their sandwiches. Either good or not so good with the meats and sandwich preparation. At times they can put out a great sub, other times it looks like a 4 year old made it. I get it to go because of the shifts I work and I was getting food for my co-workers as well. Now I am down to just getting myself some food to go because my co-workers got tired of getting sloppy ill filled sandwiches. A lot of the times it just looked like mostly bread when they opened them up. I have been to other locations and not had the consistency issues as I have here. If there was another location closer to my work place I would stop there instead. read more

It's a diner style fast food restaurant serving sandwiches and sides. The sandwiches are HUGE. So choose carefully. Medium here is bigger than a subway foot long and large is insanely big. I managed to eat just half of my medium sandwich. The service is friendly and the place wasn't crowded at all when we went on a Saturday evening. The wife is from western NY and when she saw that there was a Dibella's by our new home, she was ecstatic. So we went...I had the cheesesteak and ordered a large. It was a solid 4/5, but I ordered the large just assuming it wouldn't fill me up - it was two pieces both about 7 inches long, so yeah - a lot of food, so worth the $9.99. Wife had a cold roast beef - yep, yummy. Kids had kids' meals, and at $5.99 each a bit pricey, but comes with a fruit cup, a cookie, and a Capri sun. But the sandwich was pretty generous (about 4 inches). The place is large, clean, and it got busy during Saturday lunch. It's a bit expensive, but for about $2 more for a meal, I doubt I would ever eat at a Subway again. Since this place brings back my wife's childhood memories, I guess this will be our exclusive place for sandwiches. read more

If you read the above reviews, they are right about a few things. Dayton has a ton of Sub shops. Personally, I think you can't go wrong with Penn Station or Submarine House. But any of them are better than DiBellas. Let's start with the layoout. I went in on a Friday during lunch. There weren't a lot of people there, which should have been a clue. I ask the girl behind the counter for a meatball sub, my mom gets a dagwood, grilled. This apparently involves two people to make each sandwich. One to turn around and scoop things out of a crock pot, the other to run back and forth not knowing what to do. There was no central person taking orders and passing them on, each cook took an order then went about making it. that's great at Subway where everything is done in front of you, but turning their backs, ignoring you until it was done, and not really caring if they got your order right doesn't help. And it still took forever to get them. The meatballs were way overcooked to the point where some were burnt and crunchy. And a good four inches of my footlong sub were meatball-free. The sauce was at times overly spicy, and frequently cold despite the burnt meatballs that seemed to be bathed in it. My mom got the dagwood, which was sort of acknowledged, she wanted ham, she got corned beef. It was also incredibly salty, like half a salt shaker had been poured on it. No mayo meant she got mayo whether she wanted it or not. We both ended up throwing most of ours out. Cookies shouldn't be punnishment for a meal you have to choke down. But the cookies taste like cheap chemical laced grocery store discount cookies. Plus, if you want something as a side that isn't a salad, pasta or chips, you're kind of screwed. Fries, cheese sticks, fried mushrooms, none of those are available. I cannot reccomend this place at all!!!! You're better off going across the street to Submarine House. read more

My family and I went to DiBellas after church on Sunday. My mom enjoyed her tuna sub, but the rest of us were not that impressed. I ordered the Old Fashioned sub and got the complete wrong sub and we got the order to go so I didn't realize until we got home. My dad asked for no mustard twice and they put extra mustard on his sub. On top of it all, the service was absolutely RUDE! It was our first time at a DiBellas so we did not know how the system worked, and apparently that was not okay for them. They yelled at us for not ordering the right way, and acted as if we were dumb for not knowing. Overall, I would never recommend this place to any of my friends or family because the service was so bad! read more

I haven't been to DiBella's since they opened. I remember the service being fast and friendly and the subs being jam packed and delicious. I stopped by tonight to see that is not the case, at least not today. I was the only one waiting in an otherwise empty store (save for the customers already eating) but wasn't acknowledged for a few minutes. When I was, the guy helping me took my order more as a suggestion and just did his own thing with my sandwich. No meat on my sub and only one slice of cheese...if I wanted a vegetarian sub, I would have ordered one. read more

So that this is not completely negative, I will start by saying that the staff was friendly and the service was fast. I purchased a 7" grilled veggie sub on multi-grain. First, I was disappointed by the lack of fresh vegetables (other than lettuce, tomato, and cucumber). Second, when I started to eat the sandwich, I could barely eat it because of the bad smell.The odor was absolutely disgusting. I read somewhere that they may possibly do an egg wash on their breads, which may explain it because I don't like eggs either. Nevertheless, I could not eat the entire sandwich which was a waste. Just made my second visit to this store and the concept is good but the execution is still poor. The problem starts with the ordering process and if you order more than one sub a different order is created for each sub. A separate number is assigned for the purpose of bringing them to your table. Unfortunately the separate subs are not brought to the table at the same time and several minutes can lapse while one in your party eats and the other waits......and waits.....and waits. Its not that difficult to prepare multiple subs together and bring them out together and that should be the minimum rule when a party is together. However I saw many patrons with the same issue today. I had the same experience the first time I visited and that time it was take out! I came in when the store first opened and chalked it up to new people learning the system, etc. My second visit will be my last even though the young man who brought out a very late second sub said he would stop back with a coupon for a free sub next time. He never came back and it would not have mattered, the coupon would have been wasted. read more
