My family and I went to DiBella's in Latham NY. We ordered 3 medium subs. When we returned to our home in Amsterdam, NY we discovered that although I paid for 3 medium subs I was given one med and 2 small subs with different meat and toppings than we ordered. This happened on July 16. I called to complain that same evening and was told we would be given 2 free subs on our account. I waited about 5 days and noticed nothing on my account. I called the sub shop and was told to wait until Thursday since that is the day accounts are updated. I waited..... On July 26 I called again and was told to wait until Thursday yet again. So I asked for the contact number to their corporate office. I called on July 27 and left a message. It is now August 3 no call back and nothing on my account. Will never go back again. Many other great sub shops to choose from. This place is not worth it. read more

DiBella's has good subs, but they are a bit overrated. The price is fair for the size of the subs, but I'm just not a huge fan of the taste. I ordered a ham and cheese sub. The bread was fresh, but didn't have any flavor. The meat was good, but there was so much of it I couldn't taste the cheese and bread. The oil had no flavor at all and I couldn't even taste it. The bread to lettuce to meat to cheese ratio was not right. All I tasted was the ham. I also ordered the DiBella's Cheesesteak with peppers and onions on an everything roll. The everything roll was awful and there was just too many flavors at once. The peppers and onions were cooked nicely, but for some reason they put mushrooms on the sub. I absolutely despise mushrooms so I couldn't even eat the sub. Overall, DiBella's subs are huge and the price is fair, but the flavor isn't that great. read more

Heard a lot about this place. Finished a gig early this afternoon so my wife and I decided to try it out since it was on the way home. I usually get the Italian mix at my favorite sub shop Deli and Brew in Troy so we got a whole Godfather on everything bread. This is an Italian sub. The first thing the guy asks is if I wanted mustard or mayo on it. What? NO. I wasn't oil and vinegar...which should have been my first option but wasn't even mentioned. Mjnus 1 star for that. He asked us what veggies we wanted. We opted for lettuce, tomatoes, onions and roasted red peppers. No problem there. He then started taken pre-sliced meat and put it on a scale. Meat #1 was put on and a little taken away to make weight. Meat #2 was put on and some was taken away to make weight. Meat #3 was added then some of Meat #1,2 and 3 were taken away to make weight. I thought #1 and #2 were already good. First thought I had is that he was adjusting the meat by adding cheaper meat and pulling back the more expensive meat. I'm not saying that's what he did, but as a consumer, that is the thought that crossed my suspicious mind. Minus 1 star for this meat manipulation debacle. Went to check out and saw a small cooler of drinks. Picked a Vitamin Water and my wife asked for a fountain drink. I looked around and saw the fountain drink tucked in the back of the shop. I switched for a fountain drink too since I was feeling a bit dehydrated from being in the sun during the morning hours. Almost knocked off a star on this, except that my wife caught that they had fountain drinks...so I'll take the hit on this one. We sat down to eat and while the taste wasn't bad (which I attribute to the flavorful everything bread that we chose) the meat wasn't cold. At Deli and Brew the meat is taken out of the cooler and sliced to order. It's not pre-sliced like here and most other sandwich shops. So this sandwich lacked the distinctive chill and freshness that we like. Minus 1 star. In the end I leave this place with 2 stars. It's not a bad sandwich shop. Certainly not the disasters that other chain sub shops are. I just wouldn't go out of my way to get a sub from there. And if I was in the area and feeling hungry, Chipotle is right there too. read more

This is a go-to for us. Very consistent, always a solid good sandwich. The highlights are the service, and bang for your buck. Highly recommend the Cowboy sandwich which isn't always on the menu but consists of chicken, bacon, cheese and BBQ sauce. I like to add banana peppers and mushrooms for an extra twist. Also the godfather but toasted is amazing! The service is probably the best in the Capitol region, they're friendly, extremely quick, and I've never had a negative experience. Some of the best subs around. Nevermind that it's a chain. You will think you are in a NYC deli. Service is fast and friendly. They make their own bread and slice and weigh out the meats in front of you and you can get up to 3 different meats in one sub. I also like that they put all the topping in first so they don't fall out when you are eating the sub. I don't particularly care for the italian oil dressing. read more

Dibella's was something I first encountered living in Rochester, NY. While it didn't take my breath away the first time I ate there, over the years I learned how to love (and order) at this rather awesome Sub Chain Pros: - Dibella's has a pretty good selection of subs, ranging from chicken caesar to turkey to the classic Dagwood. Where they truly shine though is with their Godfather, an enormous helping of capicola, salami, and hot ham, which can be customized with any of their toppings. Their meatballs and steak subs are nice too (but don't expect Philly style steak) - Freshness & Quality; Pretty much everything at Dibellas is fresh and tasty. Ripe red tomatoes, crisp lettuce, firm black olives, and spicy peppers. The bread is always good too. - The portions are massive, and the prices are reasonable. Most people could eat a $10 large for Lunch and Dinner - This Dibella's has a nice interior feel, very bright thanks to all the windows. It also still kicks it old school sub shop with a tin stamped ceiling and big booths. - The staff is fast and friendly. Cons: - This is not a vegan or vegetarian friendly sort of place. They'll make a salad, but it's about the subs. - The sides are alright, but not fantastic. Dibella's is pretty awesome, and this location is solid. Which is a reasonable point to keep in mind. Not all of Dibella's locations are this good, but this is definitely an awesome one if you're looking for a first time at this sub shop. read more

Giving them a 3 star rating due to some pros and cons... Pros - subs are huge, chicken seems to be good quality, everything bread is very flavorful Cons - pricey, two subs will run you around $20, some options are very salty, service is spotty I will continue to go to DiBella's if I'm in a pinch and want to satisfy a quick sub craving. But, if I want high quality cold-cuts, I'll patronize one of the local Italian deli's instead. read more

So I'm from Jersey, I live close to Philly, and I've been around good subs and hoagies. I stopped in here with a friend from colonie that loves this place. I took his recommendations, everything bread, godfather, the works. I got the smallest size, portion was good. I love DiBella's subs but this location has twice said they would refund or replace my item and it had never happened. Once was because i asked for extra mayo and the sun had none at all, was told by email they would put a free sub in my subclub account or send coupons in the mail and never received either. No big deal i ordered again from them for delivery this time. My order never arrived which is a DoorDash issue i understand but i called DoorDash who told me to call the store. The manager said he would refund it because i never received it, but it never got refunded. They have decent customer service but no follow through and i don't appreciate being lied to that's not good customer service. This was one of the best experiences I have had since the start of the pandemic. The online site was user friendly. No strange issues or hiccups. I'm honestly just tired of continuing to give this place a chance. The subs are good, but the employees don't give a shit about getting your order right. I've called hours ahead to place an order, and when I go to pick up at the designated time they haven't even made the subs yet. When I go in to order, they get it wrong 80% of the time. How Dibella's could screw this up is beyond stupidity ( the order is written right out for them ). I received a sandwich without onions and vinegar. Instead piled very heavily with lettuce which I did not ask for! Not only will Dibella's not send me a new sandwich, they insist that I come to their location to have it remade. Well, if I could have come to their location to begin with, I would not have counted on Door Dash to deliver it. On my buisness trips from NYC. I often frequent Dibellas. It makes the kind sandwiches you can only find in a hamdful of NYC delis. The bread is made fresh on site on Actual Italian bread. Not that SUBWAY garbage. The .meat is cut in a traditional deli style.. the ambiance is like an Old Brooklyn lunchonette that was just build. The full size sandwich hovers around 11 dollars and eclipces a subway sub. The staff here always oacks my sandwiches for the long slog down to NYC. So when it gets home its not soggy.
