I have driven by this cafe a million times and always wanted to check it out. Today was my first visit, and it did not disappoint. The cafe has a great vibe and lots of patio seating to enjoy now that it's spring. I arrived just after opening and was promptly greeted. My goal was to grab a couple of takeout sandwiches, but wasn't sure what to get. The woman who was helping me gave me a menu and patiently answered all of my questions. She raved about the owner's "homemade everything" and encouraged me to return to try more of the selections. My order was ready in less than 10 minutes. We had the two eggs on brioche sandwich and western omelette sandwich, subbing ciabatta for the hard roll. Both were outstanding, and portions were generous. In addition to the sandwiches, we enjoyed the split pea soup - it was perfectly thick with a nice texture and a good amount of ham. I'm looking forward to coming back here next time I'm in the area.

Spread the word, The Stuffed Rooster is open again! I had a terrible mishap the morning of where I dropped my packed lunch, and the Tupperware shattered before my eyes. Disheartened, I was searching for something to eat nearby and happened to find The Stuffed Rooster on my list of suggestions. I got a Panini with breaded eggplant and prosciutto. It was accompanied by a giant side of curly fries, which were extremely delicious. Maybe I just wasn't feeling the breaded eggplant that day, but my lunch did not wow me. However, this isn't saying that it was lackluster; the cheese oozed and pulled from my sandwich, and the Panini made a satisfying crackling sound when I bit into it. I think the issue is that I haven't found my perfect sandwich from The Stuffed Rooster, which means I'll be returning to try something else from their menu!

Very relaxing place to eat. The Stuffed Rooster's pretty patio.

This place is is just fabulous. Very pleased with the many offerings, the food we had, hot pastrami on rye sandwiches was just so perfect! We ate on the beautiful, shaded patio, with gorgeous flowers all around. It was lusciously cool on a hot summer day. Loved their refreshing unsweetened ice tea! It was just so lovely! Our waitress was very prompt, very accommodating, very personable. In all, this lunch really cheered me up

I brought my mom here for lunch because of everything I read about their sandwiches (on Yelp and on their menu). She has some dietary restrictions, and it was nice to see the Lunch Standards menu, where you can craft a sandwich according to what you like, which she did. Her roast turkey sandwich had actual roast turkey in it, chunks, pieces, etc., as opposed to sliced deli meat. The bread fell apart a little bit though she said it was soft and tasty as well. I'm intrigued by their soups. She got and enjoyed the clam chowder, which had large chunks of potato, celery and clams in it. I saw on their menu a turkey pot pie soup, but I don't think it was available today. My own sandwich, RS3, was slices of various cold cuts on a grinder roll plus lettuce, tomato, oil and vinegar. This tasted exactly like the grinders I used to make at home growing up, when my dad would bring home grinder rolls and cold cuts. So it was a nice trip down memory lane as well as a nice lunch. I've been searching for places to get subs (or grinders, hoagies, torpedoes, etc.), in the Colonie area as I travel through. After having lunch here, I don't think I need to do a lot more searching.

Nice clean place at the end of strip plaza/mall around from Galleria 7. Bigger than expected, with a good size deck with ceiling fans. They have a couple of soup specials daily. Also a few sandwich specials and serve breakfast all day. Some different breakfast sandwich options and other sandwiches such as what I ordered a breaded eggplant/prosciutto panini. Sandwiches do not come with anything, everything is a la cart. So if you want fries, chips or pickle its extra. There are delicious treats to purchase as well, if you have a sweet tooth. The sandwich was filling and eggplant had a good herb breading flavor. My friend ordered a pickle and bought a huge pickle that they had to cut up for her. I had coffee which was self serve and just coffee but that's what I expected. They have some awesome looking specials but none of the ones I wanted to try today so will be going back if I have an opportunity.

    My "refund"

Shame I can't leave NO STARS Yesterday, on 1/10/2019, I ordered off GrubHub. I got the Skinny Me. No it was not great, I'm only here to tell more because I can't revise what I put on GrubHub. Around 4:30 I believe, I got a call about my review. I didn't know they'd actually call but ok. When I told her I was still at work, not on my break and I would call back, she said "oh no I just want to make things right". First, that's rude I literally did not have the time. Second, you're selfish and so focused on a good review you were okay with interrupting my day at work even after being told. You kept me. I appreciate that you called but you should have left it when I said I was not able to talk. Then she began to tell the tales of how it was made. You offered me either a refund or a new order. I said I would like a refund because at this point, I just want you to get off my phone. Still waiting on that refund. I'm glad you're open Saturdays so you can see this first thing in the morning. I'm SUPER disappointed with the food AND THE SERVICE! You hoped I'd be back. Yeah, right. Please give me my refund. Update: why do you still have $2.09 of my money???

Chicken bone in my spicy chicken soup. Laurel didn't say sorry and she didn't care. Not cool ma'am.

I'm giving this place at least two stars because the food is amazing and the staff is amazing but the owner lacks so much customer service that it is just gross. She's cold and it's never her fault. I've only had three problems (easy fixable problems) and she just can't admit fault and fix anything. She'd rather see you walk out. That's all you get for me, three tries. My company is not using them to cater anything anymore. Customer service is definitely a huge part in owning a business. Here's a photo of a ginormous chicken bone that was in my soup. And guess what? The owner didn't give a crap. That was the third strike. Thumbs down, Laurel... thumbs down

Remind me, I selected the primo Philly steak with Cooper Sharp cheese. This order came with a three dollar off coupon. I also ordered a leaf lemon tea 18 ounce bottle. The Philly steak was delicious and on the poppyseed sub roll and the Cooper cheese highlighted it just fine. The leaf lemon tea was great as usual. I was impressed by the quickness of the order, as well as the packaging. The only downside I could see where it was located. It is stuck in the middle of a complex which doesn't have ample parking space is for it, or any other establishment as well. Making it more difficult also is the one-way areas stuck in the middle, which didn't appear to be very well thought out. I ended up parking over the other side of the lot and walked over. I was lucky to find a spot even parking on the other side of the lot. A few small notes. Please designate an area when people come in with an arrow that says pick up orders. And for us older gentlemen that used to order using my last name, ordering online causes your order to be designated as your first name, last initial. And also think about wrapping the sub in wax paper and THEN wrapping it in aluminum foil. This is in case somebody wants to throw it in the microwave. It didn't seem to hurt my microwave, but the thought occurred to me seconds after I threw it in, thinking they wouldn't wrap it in aluminum foil and then wrap it in plastic would they? I immediately took it out and out of the foil and wrapped it up in the wax paper, throw it back in the microwave for two minutes, and it was fine. Nice establishment, great food, reasonable price, not so great location for parking.i

The first time I order a burger at someplace new to me, I always skip the sauces and condiments, so I can taste the flavor of the beef and the toppings. It certainly comes through here! I do enjoy crisp fries, and these indeed are. The first few, while still hot, were tasty. But there comes the question, "Can fries be too crisp?" For me, these would be a "yes." While I appreciated the crunch, these were beyond the point where you still have the fluffier texture inside. They almost felt like french-fry shaped potato chips. They're also very filling. One serving could easily satisfy 3 people. I'll want to visit again to try one of their chicken sandwiches. This is a haute cuisine place that is masked by the casual dining atmosphere. Seriously: top notch chef, original recipes, a core dedication to quality seafood, paired with a fresh fish counter and some prepared food to go. We usually go for something special, but tonight I decided to get an old childhood standby, fried clams (the Boston Basket) and the fish burger sandwich. I did not expect either to be as transportive as they turned out to be. The fried clams were as delicately done as I've ever had: not crispy, but not too floppy, with excellent breading. And while I prefer my clams naked, we tried all three of the dipping sauces -- a remoulade, tartar sauce, and cocktail sauce. Now normally I loathe cocktail sauce and can take tartar sauce or leave it, so I figured we'd eat up the remoulade and ignore the other two. Still, I gave them little nibbles. Man! The cocktail sauce was like no other I've had, with a heavy hint of horseradish and a far fresher flavor than I've ever had. Then the tartar sauce -- genius! It had a delicate spicing, with capers providing a floral backdrop. That was only a preliminary, as the fish burger proved to be complex, with hints of multiple kinds of fish, and a fennel-based spicing. I ended up having that afterglow, as if I'd had a couple of cocktails and was sitting next to a fireplace, that is the hallmark of truly fine food at an advanced level. We also had the usual outstanding service, attentive without being pushy. I seriously think Hooked should consider splitting into two restaurants: one where the ambiance is upgraded to match the high caliber of the food, and another cheaper one that is strictly fast casual and takeout, and they'd more than double the business. There is a restaurant back where we come from in California, Turtle Bay, that did this with fine dining on one side and the quick, simple, and affordable food on the other side, with a big shared kitchen between them but with completely separate ambiances. That way I could come back more frequently, and still have the original Hooked for special occasions!

To explain, I ordered the cold lobster roll with fries and it was great. First off, the lobster was tender, incredibly fresh, and they loaded the roll with it. Likewise, the roll was perfect. Essentially, Hooked offers great lobster rolls and fries.
