The Turkey 'wich was decent, but not Sourdough, like I asked. Presentation: Lunch served in a small metal tin tray on wax paper that's folded twice. I am a fan because they are FAN-TASTIC! Placed an order (through Grubhub). We got a chicken parm sub and a eggplant parm sub. Both were extremely good and plentiful. The subs were cooked perfectly and it was difficult (but we did it) to finish them. They also came with chips or you could substitute fries with no up-charge. Guess what: we took the fries and they were wonderful. Not you basic plain fries. These had a coating that made them super good. The only problem with this food is that when I got on the scale the next day my scale yelled at me and said "one at a time!" I no doubt gained weight after stuffing myself with this sub. I've been getting pizza here on the regular since being diagnosed with a dairy allergy. My most recent order, I asked for the cup and char style pepperoni they put on their vodka sauce specialty pizza. The pizza was life changing! The kitchen balanced the sauce and cheese very well, cooked the crust to perfection, but the star or the show was the spicy pepper mix sprinkled on with the cup and char pepperoni. My mouth fell in love at first bite. Since being diagnosed, I have had very few dairy-free alternatives that have actually surpassed their original dairy versions. That pizza is one of them. (Check out Bitchin' Donuts on Lark St for another dairy-free option that's better than the original). I used the app to order a conventional pepperoni pizza and in the notes I added "dairy allergy, sub vegan mozzarella, sub cup and char pepperoni". I came in for a quick visit, great beer selection and pretty decent burger have to say the food was good(when it finally came out right..but the amount of time it took me to order was ridiculous. I couldn't get the bartenders attention at all. She was too busy at the other end of the bar hanging out with her friends taking shots. I probably would've tried more than just one beer if she was being a little more attentive. She was clearly intoxicated because she was screaming while talking to the patrons. Super annoying, to say the least. When I finally got my order in for the burger, it wasn't very long till it came out, not brought to me by the bartender, but from another staff member which it had toppings on it that I requested to be left off. So I sent it back with the person that brought it out. I asked to speak to the manager when they brought out the burger incorrectly, and I watched the food Runner talk to a young man that was sitting down at the bar ,The gentleman that seemed to be the manager was aloof sitting down watching TV at the bar, taking shots with the group of people that was down at the other end as well. I've never been in a situation where I had to report seeing a live critter running around in a dining area, so I'm not sure what the correct action from management should be. The server seemed embarrassed and offered for us to move anywhere else in the dining area, but this didn't seem like it was the first time this was reported based on their reaction. If you're the manager of such an establishment and such huge health code violation is pointed out you would think it would be pertinent to come over and address the customers even if it is the end of the night. The location of Spinners is convenient and I think that's the main reason I ever go there. I don't expect above average food, but today was really bad. I ordered the lunch special of one slice of white pizza with broccoli and five wings. The bartender was the only person taking care of the table so I think she was a little bit busy and I know that's not easy. She brought me my food after about 15 minutes, but it was a slice of regular pizza instead of white with broccoli. She took the whole plate back to the kitchen And I didn't get the corrected order for a while. Meanwhile, the wings were sitting under hot lights while i was waiting for the right pizza. The wings were completely dried out I tried to take them home and do something with them, but they were just beyond repair. I hate to waste my money like that. I told the waitress that the wings were dried out and she said that's because they were sitting under the lights. Well, I figured that. She did offer to get me new wings, but that was after I got my check and was already behind schedule. I feel like I just paid $12 for a mediocre slice of pizza and inedible wings. read more

My cousin and I went to Spinners for lunch on Saturday. Spinners has a great vibe, a welcoming staff, and a family friendly atmosphere. My cousin had the roast beef deli sandwich with their delicious homemade chips and mac salad. My beef on a weck came with a pickle and fries. I asked our wonderful server Amanda(she tends bar but waited on us as it was busy) if I could have mac salad instead of fries. And she said "yes, you can, of course." Our sandwiches were fantastic, full of flavor! Their mac salad is the best I have had out, loved the red onion, carrot and celery pieces. And the pickle was yummy, too. Perhaps I should have stuck with a pizza for my first order from these guys, seeing they're a pizza joint. I gotta tell you though, that the only two pictures I came across of their Greek salad with grilled chicken were so mouth watering that they ultimately led me to go with a large Greek salad with grilled chicken. The only thing is that it was kinda disappointing. Here's the lowdown: with the kalamata olives and feta cheese, three grilled chicken really didn't need all that salt and seasoning, and many parts of the chicken were so salty that I followed up with a free forkfuls of lettuce for each piece of chicken. The flatbread was another downfall unfortunately, because they were so stiff that I had a hard time chewing and ultimately gave up on them. This meal was part of a big group lunch order for pickup, so I'm kinda curious to check out the shop because the interior looks nice, but the salad gives me pause. They offer Vegan meats and cheese options for pizza as well as plant-based seitan wings in a variety of flavors. When ordering pizza with vegan cheese we typically ask for it well done. The seitan wings are plentiful and filling. Recently we ordered the chunky Chicago pizza with extra marinara. Normally it only comes with chunky crushed tomatoes on top but we enjoy a little extra sauce under the cheese. Online ordering is easy to customize. One time we ordered over the phone and I wasn't clear about everything in the order being vegan. I was very pleased when the manager made it right and replaced our order with the vegan version we intended it to be. That's why I'll keep going back, friendly staff with great customer service!!! Been a fan of Spinners for over 15 years when they were next door from where they are now. The moonshine wings were the best wings in town. The service is always decent and the vibe in there is super cool since renovations. The bar is really nice. The outdoor seating is awesome as well for nice days. Happy hour is from 3-6 and the specials are great. Last week was my first time dining in and I had a couple happy hour margaritas and enjoyed the patio seating. I also had The Vegan Classic. It was delicious, but the pepperoni could have been sliced much much thinner. There was like a block of pepperoni on there lol. It was still absolutely delicious. Highly recommend! read more

We ordered a pizza and tenders through DoorDash to be delivered. The food never showed up and the DoorDash driver never answered his phone. My spouse called Spinners to find out what happened, and he was basically hung up on after a staff person offered to find a manager. We had to call back to get that manger, who did offer to remake the food. However, we had to travel through a snowstorm to pick it up. While we take it, the food, there was no offer to refund the order, which is frankly poor service. Won't return. read more

I think the biggest issue I have is that the crust is always a little soft and I wish they'd cook it a little more. My daughter hosted a party at Spinners for her 30th birthday. The party room was just put in about a year ago. It is beautiful. The staff could not have been more accommodating. Kudos to Dani. She wanted everything to be perfect and it was. They allowed us to decorate and bring our own birthday cake. The tables were set with linen tablecloths. The food was coming all afternoon. We had vegans, and vegetarians. All were accommodated. The pizzas, french fries and mozzarella sticks that we ordered were all hot and delicious They had one area for hot foods, a drink station for coffee and soft drinks. A large table was set up for the cake. There was a big screen TV on which you could play anything from a football game, to a movie or nature scenes with quiet music. I don't do reviews usually like ever. But I just had to for this place. I don't use this word lightly, but this place is phenomenal. I've ordered 2 different Chicken Sandwiches. One was the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich, the other a BBQ Chicken Sandwich. Both of these sandwiches blew me away. Very large pieces of chicken, dipped into two amazing sauces. The Blue Cheese/Ranch were amazing sides sauces to dip into if that is what you are looking for. The French Fries are pretty good. I have only gotten food from delivery from here, so I am sure they would be better in the restaurant. My sister got the Chicken Quesadilla, could've used a bit more cheese she said, but said it was still great. She got a side of Melba sauce to dip the fries into, she said it was really good. I recommend at least giving this place a shot, I don't think you will be disappointed. I will be coming back to this place many times in the future. read more

Stunning: 1/2 page of salads 1/2 page of fried things 1/2 page of sandwiches 1/2 page of specialty sandwiches 1 page red specialty pizzas 1 page white specialty pizzas 1/2 page lunch combos 1/4 page wraps 1/4 page dinners 1 page party trays 1 page mega-combo specials plus a front cover Doesn't really matter when the pizza is just ok. Really the crust is to blame. It's just too darn chewy. Cheese was tasty and the sauce was good. They do put on the garlic powder on the edge like Lou Bea's. But it's just chewy. Not enough yeast? Too heavy on sauce and cheese? Oven not hot enough? I can't tell you the cause, only the result. $1.50 per slice. And there is a large dining room to take your food and eat it comfortably at a proper table. Wings are just ok too. Hot isn't all that hot. Crispy isn't all that crispy. But you can order just 6 of them and have a franks-and-butter wing snack, which always makes me happy. When I was there I was surprised to see a large contingent of burly manly men getting lunch. Mostly getting it to go. Maybe it's because Spinner's serves filling food for modest prices. Horrible, Horrible pizza. I was with a group and we ordered two pizzas, one plain cheese and the other a custom pizza with vegetables. I didn't pay for it so I can't say if it was a good value or not, but the pizzas were huge. However, they were not very good. The "crust" if you could call it that was spongy. Not quite like those pre-made pizza shells, but actually more like a sponge. Lots of holes, no support whatsoever, and it was soaked full of grease to the point that when you touched it your hands got oily. It was a two-hand pizza that required holding the tip and the crust because it would flop down and fall apart otherwise. I looked underneath and it was a pale white, not brown. The sauce was lacking any presence and there was a ton of cheese (which likely added to the grease pool) but the flavor was missing salt and tomato acidity. I only had the cheese pizza, but the vegetable one had the same grease issues. I was sick that evening and the next morning from all that grease. One other thing: whoever cut it didn't do a good job of making even slices. Some were 2 inches wide, some were 5-6 inches wide, etc. When it arrived, most of the slices had congealed together so we re-cut them as we wanted. A friend raved about their pizza but I just don't get it. read more

Some of the pizza choices are similar to other local pizza shops but having tried the Hawaiian with pineapple and ham (red), tomato bacon ranch (white), and broccoli pizza (white), they have all been satisfactory. The fried ravioli are pretty awesome...nicely fried and breaded pillows of goodness with a side of marinara. The buffalo chicken tenders were thick strips of meat + flavorful being only medium heat... but I would've preferred it to be hot. Usually we get our food to go, but most recently we tried delivery, which was a little slower than expected. I'm not interested enough to get the dinners or the calzones, but I'd like to get back and try some wings, salads, and more pizza. For some reason this was not the best pizza we've had from them. Far from it. It's our go to Vegan Pizza and this one was clearly using different cheese that really ruined the pizzas for us. They were clearly using Cheap Daiya cheese instead of the delicious cheese had just last week. We humbly request they bring back the other cheese because it was great. We got takeout for seven from Spinners delivered through a service (rhymes with gore-bash). Not my choice. My experience with the services has been mixed, and as expected only a partial order was delivered. Within one minute of us discovering our missing entrees, WE GOT A CALL FROM SPINNERS ASKING IF WE GOT EVERYTHING DELIVERED OK! They had realized the driver left with a partial order and were checking with us before driving the order to us themselves. How cool is that? Granted their internal process is loose enough that a partial order was released for delivery, but they jumped on the issue and the remaining food was here in minutes. Hopefully they read this and institute a better system for assembling orders. I'm sure there are best practices they can put in place after an internet search. My point is, their heart IS in the right place. Reading through the other reviews there are plenty of delivery-related problems that might in fact be related to people placing orders through the services. Spinners may want to rethink how to control their hand-offs for high quality delivery. Our food was good. Chicken salad had all the right ingredients, good dressing, fresh greens. The avocado wasn't truly ripe but otherwise customer was pleased. Our junior reviewer gave five stars for the chicken fingers. My wrap was good. There were thick cut potato chips that tasted good enough so I would suggest they use less salt. Meal also came with a pickle that was separated from the wrap and chips by paper so nothing got soggy.
