Named after Camillo Parker-Bowles, who later married the ex-hubs of the late Princess Diana, aka Lady Di, which is another reason why they're called "Di" Camillo. Who knew, right? Who knew. What to get: Romano Pizza. What else: Read up on the fall of the Romano Empire. Is there more: Yes if you come here after 6pm a lot of the stuff is half price, but they also close early sometimes. Anything else: Romano, if you want to. How to improve: Offer piping hot pizza too. As far as I know, this is the only place that isn't in Niagara Falls, where you can purchase Niagara Falls style pizza, which is legendary and secret and amazing all at the same time, and is best incarnated at Pizza Oven, Mr. Ventry's, and Frenchy's. But this is a very good (but stone cold, and needing to be warmed up) version of it. It may actually be made in the Falls, and brought here every morning. Theres a Camillion reasons why this place should suck. It doesn't make Buffalo style pizza, and it's a local chain with a few locations (the main one is in El Falls Du Niagara, also known as Viagra Falls to the older gentlemen). And yet it's hands down a five star establishment. I haven't been to the other locations (yet), but if this spot is anything to go by, I will. Their cupcakes all have white filling, so I haven't tried them yet. I have tried other baked goods, such as the donuts, and they were all good, such as the Lemon and Sugar Donuts. But so far, the star of the show is the pizza. The pizza here is nothing like Buffalo Pizza. It is actually Niagara Falls style pizza, squares of deliciousness (sold cold) with tomato, or broccoli, or mushroom. They have a few different types. There's not mushroom for improvement. Stick them in an oven for 5 mins on 550 and you'll have pizza perfection. The Romano slice is probably best of all. They come out nice and wet and juicy just like my Great Aunt.' Service is really nice, and the people in here are friendly and fun to talk to. Especially the one girl (you know who you are) (tosses hair). Anyway, it's definitely a 5-star establishment, and for the other best Niagara Falls style pizza, go to Pizza Oven, Mr. Ventry's, and Frenchy's. Always make sure your NF slices are piping hot, an option which DiCamillo's doesn't offer. So as the Romano's would say: I camillo, I saw, I conquered. Love this cute little bakery in front of Spot Coffee. They have parking both sides of the place and also street parking. They sell cakes and Italian pastries. I got the pizza bread and I had it toasted. It was pretty delicious. When I was there they had a buy 1 large coffee get a free donut. They also sell their own pasta noodles and sauces. Their whole cake is around $11 ish which is pretty cheap. Will come here again. They also have free water and extra seating towards the right from the entrance. read more

Donuts are my spirit animal ... and homemade donuts from DiCamillo are regularly 40% off after 3pm! A dozen clocks in at $9.75 at that time. Full price, they aren't my favorite local donuts. But for 40% off, they creep up towards the top of the list! :-D The flavors aren't as broad or unique as a fully-focused donut shop, as DiCamillo is more of a generalist bakery. They also sell made-in-house breads, rolls, cakes, cannoli, cookies, cinnamon rolls and other baked goods, as well as pizza slices, a variety of oils, spices, and condiments. There is a small freezer and fridge section to the market as well, but I typically beeline to the donut case at 3:01pm, so the details of some of the other specialty items are fuzzy to me. The donut details include a small assortment of basic flavors such as angel cream filled, custard filled, jelly, lemon, glazed, fry cakes, peanut sticks and a maple frosted filled with apple. They aren't Paula's-sized-behemoths, but a bit bigger than a Tim's donut. My favorite is the angel cream filled. The cream here is like an authentic whipped cream, very light and fluffy and not too sweet, different from other donut shops that have more of a frosting'y much sweeter white cream. Here they are light as air. Except with more calories than air, hahaha. When I have a hankering for donuts that are better than a chain or grocery store donut, but not as mammoth and decadent as a bonafide donut shop, DiCamillo's does a nice reliable middle-ground donut at a fair markdown price after 3pm. read more

I was working a booth at the Lewiston Art Festival (8.13.22) and went to this bakeries booth to order a cannoli. The signs just said it was a plain chocolate dipped cannoli. After taking a bite, I noticed there were chunks of pineapple inside the cannoli mixture. I am highly allergic to pineapple and had to run to my car and get my EpiPen and leave to go to the doctor. My friend went to their tent with my unfinished, almost full cannoli and told them that the signs didn't mention anything about pineapple and I was allergic and had eaten it. All they said was "oh sorry all the cannolis have pineapple." They did not offer a refund or an item not containing pineapple.... Very disappointed in the service and lack of empathy from this business. It really should be noted somewhere that the dessert contains pineapple! read more

I was so disappointed when we visited the Williamsville location last week. I ordered a cannoli and cup of tea. There was only one in the case and told there were more in the back but were very cold as was the cassata cake. That turned me off. Sounded like they were frozen and not fresh. The filling was hard and did not taste like ricotta the shell was soggy. The tea was luke warm. My friend ordered a cream puff and decided that it looked old and switched to a donut which she enjoyed. When we first walked in nobody greeted us. After we sat and had our food they were very friendly. Next time I will stick to bread and pizza. read more

On our way home from the doctor's appointment, my son and I were hungry, but we didn't want to eat a big lunch. So, we decided to stop at DiCamillo Bakery for a little snack. As soon as I walked into the store, the aroma of freshly baked bread filled up my lungs. It smelled so good and made me want to buy everything off the shelves. DiCamillo offers different varieties of bread, pastries, pizzas, and some sandwiches. They also sell frozen pizza dough, cakes, dry pasta, and jarred marinara sauces. I have been to the original bakery in Niagara Falls and I like the one on Main Street in Williamsville better because of the ambiance and it's closer to home. They have a small sitting area toward the back of the store where you can sit and drink some coffee or have some small lunch. My favorite thing to get is Romano Pizza - it's pizza with marinara sauce and sprinkled with Romano cheese on the top. I like the sweetness of the red sauce and the crust isn't too thick. You can ask the staff to warm up the pizza for you. (Who would eat cold pizza? Me!!!) I like it because there aren't too many places that offer this kind of pizza. I got a slice for myself and my son had the giant glazed donut which was soft and tasty. I also like their donuts with cream filling (the custard one is just ok), peanut donuts, and most of the cookies. I recommend the Italian bread because it is AMAZING either for sandwich or plain. The price is reasonable and they discount the pizzas and donuts after 6pm. Definitely a must try if you're in Williamsville area. read more

Italy found in Williamsville. I had not been here in years, perhaps a decade. While I know I have been, I don't remember the actual food purchased or consumed. Perhaps that was a sign. However - recently I had heard about it from many people, and thought perhaps it was a time for a (re)-visit. When I was in the area for a lunch, I stopped by here for a loaf of bread and some treats. We got a loaf of sourdough, thinly sliced (If you ask they will use the "thin slicer" that they have). While the bread does not have as much flavor or texture as our usual darker choices from Elm Street or 5 Point, it is super for toasting and as a sandwich bread. I would come back here for another loaf if in the area and in need of bread. But I would not make a special trip. We picked up a cupcake, vanilla with sprinkles and some sort of lemon inside stuff. It was ok, but we wont be having that again given the other choices around town. I'm not sure why, but it was really not very good. The filling was a tiny drop (it was unexpected to have a filing at all, but if you have it, perhaps a little more generous would make sense?). The frosting was ok, but the sprinkles did look nice. We also picked up a chocolate covered donut, still looking for one as good as Freddies, and this was also a disappointment. Not really their fault I suppose, as the search for Freddies has proven elusive, but, still, it was not even one to repeat, although their chocolate topping is much darker chocolate than others around town, which was nice. There are a variety of breads on offer, large loaves, small ones, various rolls etc. Its a great selection. I think this is all "Italian" bread, mostly white bread and will appeal to a specific audience. But we are not that audience. This is a nice place for various other treats as well, and it was very busy, so I think many people like their choices. Easy parking in the lot next to the bakery, right on main street in Williamsville. 2 stars because while the bread is good for toasting etc., the treats were really a disappointment. read more

I buy a dozen or half dozen donuts every week. This week, the chocolate white cream filled donuts tasted like chemicals. They were eaten by 4 different people who had to throw them out after 1 bite. So this is my favourite bakery in Buffalo. I probably haven't been to all bakeries but this one definitely stands out by far I love their eclairs! Their is just the right amount of pastry to custard ratio. The custard is creamy and not overly sweet. And as you can see I have to get two because they are delicious. My husband loves the lemon meringue pies from here and since we don't want to get a weekly pie we end up getting a lemon turnover for him. He loves the lemon custard. I have tried their baguettes before and they were superb, nice and crusty. I have also had their carrot cake, brownies and donuts. They are all wonderful and I have no regrets trying them. However my weekly trip to this bakery is for the eclairs or the custard puffs highly recommend this place! read more

Everything about DiCamiilo's is wonderful. Yes. Every. Single. Thing. From the location to the items available, it is a place that cannot (and should not) be missed. I've been a customer since the days when there was only the Niagara Falls location. I was glad when they opened a new place that was a little closer to home. The facility is gorgeous. Clean and airy and they have the cutest side dining area where you can eat your baked goods or any of the convenience items that they sell such as the egg salad sandwich for 5.50 or tea and toast for 2.75. They even have pizza available that you can eat warm or cold (I love their Margarita pizza so much I eat it as cold pizza!) So good. The baked goods are also incredible. This visit I picked up fresh bread (a couple of varieties that will be perfect for toast and sandwiches) and some peanut sticks that they make fresh in house (along with other donut types). They are on par with Paula's taste wise. Seriously that terrific. There are also cookies and cakes (and other baked goods) that are available. I also picked up (in the grocery area) their brand pasta (penne) which interestingly was not in a bag. Rather it was on a tray with a cover and mesh wrapping. Really cool looking. I also grabbed a jar of vodka sauce, that although was on the pricey side (9.00) looked incredible and is what we will be eating for dinner tonight! Run don't walk to DiCamiilo's. I'm disappointed. I am disappointed in myself. I cannot believe I have never tried DiCamillo's, having been born and raised in Buffalo. I have driven by this location countless times. They have a small parking lot adjacent to the store. The interior is quaint and comfortable. There are several displays showcasing cakes, pastries, donuts and sandwiches. I was lured in by the 6pm special which provides a 40% discount on several items. I purchased some peanut donut sticks. They were soft and delicious. I also purchased the banana cake with banana buttercream. while it was not part of the discounted special, the price point was fine and it was delicious too! You can't go wrong with a local bakery with homemade goods at a reasonable price. The staff member who helped me was also friendly and professional. I'm looking forward to trying everything on the menu. read more

This review is for the Williamsville location. I needed some cream puffs in a pinch for my father's birthday, and the choux I made the night before fell due to the humidity. DiCamillo had some great cream puffs (and for $1.20 a piece, which doesn't get much cheaper) that I was able to pick up quickly. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. I noticed a manager helping a local chef and discussing the products, which was great to see. They also have pieces of cake to go and toast/coffee in the morning which is something I'm putting on my 'must do' list. Even though this is a local chain of sorts, this location felt very family-led and homey. The cream puffs were really great, and the service made my day brighter! read more

The prize winner of this place and I think what made them big in WNY at least according to my foodie italian family is the bread loafs. Honestly I could eat a whole loaf in one sitting, pair it with a good pesto, fancy cold cuts, and a good aged cheese. You will be in heaven and may never stop eating. Trust me, I have had a few Christmas gatherings like that. Also, come in for a am ice cream cookie. I don't know how they do it but the cookies aren't overly hard like most. Coffee is ok, if you just want coffee go across the street to spot. But I do like that you get as many refills that you want. I haven't tried much else but am excited to experiment. Walking in it a great feeling when you walk in, almost a European bakery feel. There are lots of amazing looking delightful looking treats all around. Down side of this place is it is a bit pricey for all the pastries, but if its better quality like the bread it would be worth it! read more

I've purchased items from DiCamillo before. From their (after 6pm) evening specials on my way home from work (pizza, sandwiches, soups, etc.) to some of their cookies (I have weak moments: Chinese Butter Cookies and especially the Black and Whites which remind me of NYC and home) and certainly their pastries and breads. I ordered a bunch of fresh sub rolls, semi-hard rolls, and a sheet cake for an office gathering this week. The Carrot Cake (a favorite with the staff) had cream cheese frosting (we went light on the frosting) and was seriously good. When people are scooping up the last bits from the bottom and sides of the box you KNOW they liked it. The rolls were very fresh and got gobbled up with the rest of what he had trucked in for the event. So - all in all - yes, I'm a big fan! Surprisingly this bakery is really not all that great. Sure...it's cute in there..... but the service is very inconsistent (sometimes overly helpful.... give me a minute ladies so I can look around and decide..... and sometimes down-right rude). And the biggest problem is that nothing tastes all that great. And, I keep going back because I live so close... and I really want to like it there. I've sampled cookies (average), pastries (overly sweet), bread (not even as good as that from the bakery at Wegman's), pizza (very, very greasy), and their chocolate chip ice cream sandwiches (probably their very best item... and the only thing worth going back for). This year in my self-attended "pazcki-crawl" during which I tried these jam filled gems at many, many locations I found the one purchased at DiCamillo's to be the ABSOLUTE WORST. Purchased right on "Fat Tuesday" and eaten within minutes, it was borderline stale and contained such a small amount of raspberry filling that I practically needed a microscope to find it. This bakery is a Niagara Falls/Buffalo institution. ALL their pastries must be tried at least once. Then, you will doubtless have a favorite for which you will return many times. I have a special weakness for their cakes, pies, mini-cakes, fruit tarts, cannoli, eclairs, and soft pumpkin chocolate chip cookies (available in autumn). Possible weak links are their donuts (try a donut shop) and large chocolate chip cookies (a trifle hard). The pizza is tasty and it does go on sale each night for about half-price. I like their mushroom best. They will heat it for you if you ask, but they do not microwave, so be prepared to wait a while. The counter staff will indeed ask you every 30 seconds what you want. If you are the only customer in the shop, you may wither under the glare of their attention. However, they are just trying to be helpful. Don't take it personally. read more

If you love pastry you can't go wrong wi DiCamillo. We bought 2 napoleons and I swear the box weighed a solid 5 lbs. The chocolate frosting was like pure fudge. Their macaroons are very good as well. The service seemed pleasant and the atmosphere of the shop is nice, easy to navigate, etc. After 6pm they have a sale on certain items. 40% off donuts, pizzas, sandwiches, soups, and some other items. I had no idea... Would be great to pick up a pizza there for 40% off after 6 for dinner some night. Though I'm not sure if this is every night or just Fridays. Regardless, there are some tasty goods at this shop and they are VERY reasonably priced. I was surprised at how inexpensive some things are there. Good stuff. read more

I don't mean to be a hater, but I really really hate it when I'm treated like...poop. We walk in and within a minute, lady #1 is like do you know what you want? We hadn't even made it through the first counter yet! We ask about the pizza, she gives us the prices like we have a knife to her throat. Then she asks 2 seconds later, do you know what you want? We walk to the back to see the other stuff and lady #2 asks...do you know what you want or are you just looking? At this point, I'm wondering if I smell? Maybe I look too poor? We walk back to the front to get a slice of pizza and a dessert and lady #2 calls from the back - let me know when you know what you want. Damn son, chill out. Ok, so we decide what we want and we tell her. She asks us if it's to go or to stay. We tell her to go and she just wraps up our pizza without heating it up and gives us our pastry. We pay and rush out. Damn. What the hell. The bread that the romano cheese sat on was really good, but the pizza itself was eh. The ladylock was fine - nothing special. This is a pretty average bakery. I stopped in here to get some cookies and pastries for a visit at someone's house during the holidays and it worked in a pinch, but will not be my first choice again. Poor presentation, not a huge selection, average quality. That about sums it up. On the plus side, the prices are pretty reasonable. While the quality is not stellar neither are the prices. And you will not be embarrassed presenting them as a gift if that is why you are buying them. My advice to them would be to improve their packaging. Plain plastic containers with a sticker on them does nothing but reflect the average quality of their product. On the plus side it does lower the customer's expectations. read more

Great place to go get a wonderful fresh baked goods. They serve wonderful, simple lunches. Not good for dairy and gluten allergies, and diabetics beware. It is a tempting place, but does not cator to these health issues. Di Camillo's has a wonder ambiance at the Williamsville site set up like an old fashion itialian bakery.
