Yummy fresh breads, soups, baked goods, cheesecake and pot pies!
    Kristie S.

*Update* The Seafood Pot Pie is too much for me and I love seafood. We bought the single serve to try it out and I'm glad we did. This was our first visit to Mr. Pot Pie McDuffies Bakery and it's really nice inside and the food is great! They have samples at the front of pastries and bread. I wish they offered samples of the pot pies, because they're pricey and it would be disappointing to spend $20-30 (after taxes) on one and not like it. We purchased the Turkey Bacon Gouda Pot Pie and it was AMAZING! It had big chunks of turkey, potatoes and tiny bacon chunks, similar to bacon bits BUT the bacon did NOT taste like crappy container bacon bits from the grocery store! The bacon is actually applewood smoked bacon. The Gouda cheese was actually a sauce and was so yummy!! The corn bread is ok. It tastes a little too much like corn. We also bought the Lemon Blueberry Bread and it's so yummy too! It has a nice crumbly icing and Blueberry chunks. The reason why I gave this place 5 stars instead of 4 (based off of price) is because it would cost almost as much to buy all the ingredients to the make the Turkey Bacon Gouda Pot Pie AND we'd have to cut everything up and bake it. Definitely check out a Mr. Pot Pie McDuffies bakery!

Best chicken pot pie and butter cookies. The rye bread is also amazing! I don't think there's one thing I don't love!

The rye bread was gummy & lacking in flavor. Not interested in trying anything else based on that.

Where has their Almond Ring been all my life? So good! Their shortbread cookies and cinnamon rolls were pretty great too!

Headed to the counter and showed the app, they said have a seat we'll get your bag ready. The place is cute inside kinda homey with little kiosk with stuff for sale. She brought my bag over and had a cup for coffee. She let me to the coffee station & I had the coffee of the day. I normally don't drink flavored coffee but it was real good, a nutty and creamy flavor combined. My bag had a bowl of broccoli cheddar soup and slice of blueberry crumble pie. The table by me had sandwiches that looked good, will definitely be back.

For those who have never been, there's two entry points; the front (from the street), is wheelchair friendly, while the back (from the parking lot) has some stairs. There are two single bathrooms available in this place. If you're dining in, you can order at the counter and they'll bring the food to your table. Regardless you need to order at the counter anyway. They always have a great selection of baked goods and coffee, plus specialty drinks on rotation. They offer light breakfast and lunch if you don't want just a coffee and pastry. They sell gifts and ground/bean coffee along with flavored syrups. For this particular trip, I ventured in to get lavender syrup (Torani). I treated myself to a specialty rotating drink (Hansel and Gretel frozen coffee - frozen coffee with gingerbread and white chocolate). I also purchased a blueberry muffin and a pumpkin cream cheese muffin (also a rotation dessert specialty). All were excellent, as par for course here. I don't hear at all but speak well, so the kind lady at the front grabbed a pad and writing utensil to communicate with me, which was very helpful and so we both were on the same page. It was very appreciated. Another reason I love this place, they're so accommodating

I was a little hesitant after reading several reviews that mentioned poor customer service, but we decided to give it a try anyway. Thankfully, our experience was much different. Our server was excellent. She was attentive, patient, and even offered drink samples when we were unsure what to order. For appetizers, I ordered the pizza flight featuring the stuffed banana pepper, stinger, and chicken spinach pizzas. The stuffed banana pepper wasn't really my favorite, but the stinger was absolutely delicious. The chicken spinach was good as well. While everything was enjoyable, nothing really wowed me. I also tried the French onion soup, which was flavorful, though I wasn't a fan of the heavy amount of Parmesan cheese on top. A friend ordered the garlic Parmesan wings and found them to be dry and overcooked. She ended up asking for extra sauce to help with the flavor and texture. Overall, I'm glad I had the opportunity to experience the pizza flights and see what Butera's had to offer. The service was great and the food was decent, but it wasn't memorable enough to bring me back for another visit.

I got a cup of the French onion soup, but wasn't overly impressed, the lack of cheese and then one half slice of bread in it just over flowed the cup when tried to break it down. The little yelper was not a fan of the fresh tenders but the fries got great reviews all around. The misses pizza flight was also pretty good, the beef on weck was the only real stand out unfortunately. We've been here before and had much better, but I'm sure we will find ourselves back here at some point to keep trying new things.

The salad was fresh, colorful, and served with warm pita bread, perfect for slopping up every last bit of dressing. We also shared the black bean dip with fried pita chips, which made for a fun and tasty appetizer. Service was exceptionally friendly, and the staff made us feel right at home. This spot is tucked away in a plaza and easy to overlook, but it's definitely worth seeking out. Be sure to check out the daily specials, too. Bonus tip: If you're considering the chicken salad, order it! A friend shared their copycat recipe with me, and the cashews add such a fantastic texture.

The menu has lots of vegetarian options, and many of the desserts are listed as gluten free. The French onion soup broth was delicious, even if the onions were only translucent and not caramelized. The ingredient that did not square with me were the croutons of seeded rye. Maybe a mistake? The color scheme is purple walls with grey baffles. The noise-abatement measures are somewhat nullified by the volume of the overhead speakers playing late 80's/ early 90's British Wave. (Spandau Ballet, anyone?) The waitresses were lovely, and worked well as a team.

Crossing the…read morethreshold, the aroma of yeast and warm cinnamon hit me, and something else I couldn't quite put my finger on. When I looked at the display case, it became clear: Sourdough! I'd never before seen sourdough croissants or cheese danishes; there's an abundance of gorgeous loaves/boules for sale. (Cheese fondue supplies! Yes!!). A baker's rack to the right sells day-old bread at discounted prices (make your own croutons!) I opted for an almond (sourdough) croissant and a small coffee; I was asked if I wanted a mug or a to go cup? I was given a beautiful glazed mug - very charming! Two things worth mentioning: There's a small seating area downstairs, and five large tables upstairs. The stairs? A polite way of describing them is, "grandfathered-in". The rise/run makes it difficult to navigate if you're in thick boots, carrying a child, or have stiff knees. The pastry had a beautiful crunch. I enjoyed the almond flavor. And then I found: cherry preserves? I'm aware that "croissant et confiture" (eaten with jam) is a standard French breakfast, but it did change the mouth feel of the treat. I'd recommend this place to anyone wanting to try something earthier and beautifully executed.

They have a large open kitchen area behind the clear display area making it feel very open and inviting. We got there just before closing so there wasn't much left, but they did have what we were looking for: a cinnamon roll. I've been a huge cinnamon roll and scone kick as we've been traveling the Eastern part of the country, and this place advertises sourdough cinnamon rolls, so of course I had to try it. The bread and other pastries (what was left at least) looked amazing and apparently were pretty popular as they were basically sold out, but I honestly couldn't tell a difference between their cinnamon roll and a non-sourdough cinnamon roll. The flavor was very good and they use vanilla icing instead of cream cheese, which is a requirement since I think cream cheese icing is sheer blasphemy, lol.
