They are clearly trained to take your order, then your payment, then go off to a little niche far away and make the sub exactly as they want to. If you want extra mayo, or no pickles, or any other adjustment, you are stuck. But, this time, after my last experience, I leaned over the counter and tried to keep my eyes on him and, sure enough, I spotted him start to put pickles and other veggies on it without asking me anything. I called out to him and told him I how I wanted it made and he did so but it was a nuisance. The sub was good again but I don't recommend anyone buy one at this place unless you're happy with the shop deciding exactly how they make your sub. If you want a choice however, virtually every other sub shop in the region will ask you first and give you a chance to tell them how to finish the sub.

The sandwich had plenty of deli sliced roast turkey, cheddar cheese, romaine lettuce, apples, mayo, & an onion fig jam between toasted marble rye (my choice of bread). This sandwich was amazing and I will have to also try out their other sandwiches on my next visits to Fat Larry's.

After getting it, we split the sub and ate it in the car. Let me tell you that this was not the same steak tip I remembered. It was so bad, we tossed it in the garbage at the gas station next door. The steak was very tough and hard to chew - almost like the tips had been cooked earlier and then reheated for my order. Everything just seemed greasy. We also did not enjoy the raspberry turnover or yellow cream cannoli's we got for dessert. Maybe it was us or maybe it was the food but I will never go there again. We are not food snobs by any stretch of the imagination, and I rarely will say anything bad about a restaurant experience but we ended up going to Augusta's which is just a little bit down the road, for chicken just to erase this experience from our mouths. We also tried the junior, the smallest size, served on a grilled, buttered bun, was more than adequate (size-wise) to satisfy a serious midday hunger. Both were tender, well executed and flavorful. The meat was perfectly roasted, buttery soft, ideally rare, the roll was properly toasted and buttered, and the service was prompt. There's quite a wide menu, so there are plenty of options for the non-roast beef eater. The vegan in our group enjoyed a tasty vegetable wrap. The restaurant was clean and the kitchen efficient.
