Adorable decor. Very 70s look. Super friendly staff. Surprisingly really great food. Everything seemed very fresh. The welcoming atmosphere and great food really made the whole place feel homey

Again! Awesome experience. Our server today remembered us from last time (almost a month ago), her name is Madeleine! What an amazing service. The food was delicious, again. Full of flavor, great seasoning, excellent biscuits, and loved the crunchy bacon. I really enjoy the coffee here, why? I don't know, it just taste really good hahaha. Atmosphere here is nice, average noise level, and you get a family feeling here. You'll see lots of regular come through as you enjoy your meal. Highly recommended!

This place is popping!!! Visited on Sunday during the SoCal rain. Even the rain didn't keep people away so that should speak for itself. We were seated about 15 min after arrival, which was not bad for the crowd size waiting around to be seated. It's a large place with indoor and outdoor seating (when it's not raining). With a classic decor and vibrant colors, I wasn't sure what to expect. The service was Excellent and the food was good. They have a variety of options to choose from (breakfast classics, sandwiches, etc). Our coffee's were topped off often which kept it hot! I had the American breakfast with house potatoes which included bell peppers & onion, bacon, scrambled eggs and sourdough toast. Overall, flavor was good, potatoes were cooked just right. I wish I would've asked for a little crispy as I like mine crunchy. Overall, everything was tasty! Everyone in my party were pleased with their meal and the service. Meal size is decent. We will be back to try other items.

Loved this place! It's so cool you feel like you are transported back in time; The interior is charming and updated yet has a very classic vibe. Very cool! I could see myself renting this place out for an awesome party (I don't know if they do that, but it would be cool!) The service was great, the energy was awesome - bustling and busy, - and the food was fine!

A really delicious breakfast option in Costa Mesa. I would not really call it a diner because it is a bit more upscale than that. It does have a very 1960s, early 70s vibe to it which I loved. Inside is very large and there are many different rooms with different seating options. They also have indoor and outdoor seating. There's a large free parking lot attached so we were able to find a space a few feet from the door. Our server was extremely polite and everything that we ordered came out faster than expected. They have a very large menu with all sorts of classic dishes on it, but there's enough variety that you will be able to try different items during each visit. I started off with a cup of the Chili and thought it was surprisingly good. It had a very hearty flavor to it, lots of meat, and it was seasoned really well. I also loved that they covered it in onions and overall I really enjoyed it. For my breakfast I chose the Country Fried Steak because I've only heard great things about it. I can confirm it is delicious and I would recommend. It was perfectly crispy, but not overly done, and was fair in size. Overall, a really solid breakfast or lunch option if you are in the Orange County area.

    Dick's Scramble

I grew up going to Dick Church's - whether that was after hitting dawn patrol at Blackie's or post-church services - my family has seen meals under multiple owners. I recently went back after many, many years away and I have to say that the current owners have done a fantastic job of keeping what was always special about the place while updating some of the less-than-stellar things that existed. I think the scaled down menu really does the place justice - because you can still get a Dick's Scramble, but they've kept the menu minimal so everything feels intentional and tastes delicious. It's still diner food, but that's exactly why you're here. The coffee is strong and hot, the eggs are fluffy, and the service is friendly and fantastic. Love the old photos of Costa Mesa everywhere and the outdoor seating for families with pets. Dick's is a staple of CM, and you can tell it will continue to be with this great for years to come. And yeah, still highly recommend the Dick's Scramble.

We decided to try Dick's church for the first time. It was well worth it our waitress was super friendly. The vibes for this restaurant are super cool. They have an outdoor patio area with a kids playground. The food was very yummy. We will definitely be coming back.

Hadn't been in for about a year and decided to stop by on Sunday afternoon. The server was friendly and there wasn't a wait time at all (in the past there always was) I was a bit shocked to see us get a table right away. And noticed lots of available tables indoor and outdoor. After placing our orders and receiving the food, it made sense. Unfortunately our party of 4 all ordered a different item from the menu- and all of us were dissatisfied with our meals. I did take pictures, and I'm glad that I did for context. The chicken country fried steak was cold and all breading with no actual chicken. The fact it was cold made it that much worse. The order of French toast was also cold and burnt at the same time! Thin bread and just overall very disappointing. The tuna melt was very greasy and also came out cold. The sweet potato fries - cold and soggy. What is going on?! Why are plates being served cold when it should be hot food. We also ordered a cheeseburger and the fries were dry overcooked and brown and crispy. They looked like fries that had been sitting there all morning. Cold as well...... Overall, today's experience here will be our last. It was a waste of money honestly. I would have much rather spent 70 dollars elsewhere. Norms would have been better. So disappointed.

Reuban sandwich ( yes I took a few bites) and Sweet Potato Fries (yes I had already eaten few)

The staff was incredibly friendly. This is such a quaint little diner with both counter seating traditional booth seating as well as outdoor seating. I had the Reuban sandwich with sweet potato fries and my mouth watered with every bite it was so delicious

Located in a strip mall with plenty of parking, they are open from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. every day for breakfast and lunch. We came on a Sunday morning and were seated right away. The menu offers plenty of tasty options. It was tough to decide. I ordered the Crab Benny and had my eggs soft-poached, as requested, and they were perfectly runny. The croissant was a nice change from the usual English muffin. The herb-seasoned wedge fries were also great and crispy. The Brown Butter Hollandaise sauce was creamy and flavorful. My family also enjoyed the tomato bagel and the kids' pancake. They cleaned their plate in no time. The portions were good for the price and quality. Our morning hunger was satisfied. If you are inclined to enjoy an alcoholic beverage with your meal, the menu offers some great options like brunch cocktails, mimosas, wine, and more. I'll have to try one of their house cocktails sometime. I opted to get a refreshing cold brew this time. Upon entering the dining area, I was struck by its bright, modern look and local vibes. There is also patio seating, perfect for the SoCal weather. The staff was kind and attentive. It was cool that they refer to customers as "family" when greeting them before taking orders. Our first time was a pleasant and delicious experience. I would consider returning for another meal.

We arrived around 9 a.m. The parking situation was great, with plenty of spaces, and although the restaurant seemed busy, there were open tables and we were seated right away. From there, the service was confusing and inattentive. The first server came to take our drink order. When my sister asked about lattes, she said they had them but couldn't show us where they were on the menu--and didn't make any effort to find out. We asked for a few more minutes, and then she didn't return for quite a while. Even when she came back, no one offered or brought water for the table or the kids. We tried to give her our food order, but she explained that she only handled drinks and that we had to wait for another server. It took a while for the food server to come over, and then the food also took a long time to arrive. The latte was extremely sweet and not enjoyable. To their credit, they were nice about replacing it with brewed coffee and removed the latte from the bill, although we were charged for the brewed coffee. The food itself was mediocre at best. We ordered one children's meal with sausage and another with bacon, but both initially arrived with bacon. The bacon was very tough. They did correct the mistake and bring out the sausage when we asked. The sunny-side-up eggs were barely cooked, and the pancakes were just okay. My sister's meat-lovers omelet was especially disappointing. It wasn't soft or fluffy--it looked more like a thin egg crepe wrapped around pieces of ham, sausage, and bacon. We also had to specifically ask before we finally received water. For the prices--around $25 per person--we expected much better quality and more attentive service. We spend about the same at places like the Original Pancake House and receive much better food and service. The staff were accommodating when we asked them to correct the sausage and replace the latte, which we appreciated. However, the overall quality of the food, the long waits, and the disorganized service made the experience not worth the price. Unfortunately, we won't be returning.

I can imagine when it gets busy that it's tough to find parking, but I got here early enough in the morning so I was able to find it. If I'm being completely honest, the inside feels like an upscale IHOP. With a modern twist. The booths are nice and comfy, and the syrups are on full display much like IHOP. Wait staff was friendly and attentive, so I ordered the steak Skillet which came with a 7 oz steak, two eggs, potatoes with peppers, mushrooms and cheese, as well as half a biscuit and two buttermilk pancakes. I was very impressed with the steak, I'll be it a little bit tough, it was still a good size steak and very tasty. The skillet potatoes were amazing and the pancakes were very good. My only complaint about the service was I had to ask for my milk two times. Again, it wasn't that busy to wear. It would be easy to forget, but I will slide them some gray so, give them four stars instead of three. Bottom line? The food was delicious. I would definitely come here again. I feel like for being called a "hangover" burger, it should've been very satisfying and had more of...well, everything XD The size of the burger and the portion of fries were both small, and the burger patty seemed dry and unseasoned. It could have used a sauce, some seasoning, a different cheese, or a juicy patty. The fries were yummy, but again, I just wished I got more for being part of the hefty $26 price tag. Despite our entrees being a little lackluster, the atmosphere is nice for a group brunch, and the interior is cool and trendy.
