Pleasantly surprised at how good this place was. Very clean and our server was a delight. The food was delicious and perfectly prepared. A must-try is their french toast ... so yummy.

Caprese Avocado Toast with cottage cheese and a nice strong cup of coffee

Popped in for breakfast this morning. .felt like having something healthy, so I chose the Caprese Avocado Toast with cottage cheese, which was Excellent. I usually stop by at night and get a grilled tuna sandwich on my way to work. They grill cheese on the Outside of the bread, which makes it mouth-watering delicious and something I often crave Side note..there is sadly a malicious rumor going about, that this diner on Via Lido in NB is closing. This is NOT true, so please give them a try. The food is excellent. The ambiance is cozy and neatly 'old style' the way a real diner should be. The personel is super friendly and welcoming also.

Classic diner food! My French toast was great. My SIL loved her waffle. Biscuits & gravy were pretty good too. Crispy hash browns. Cute old school place. Friendly service. Came here twice during our stay.

Woody's is dependably delicious, no matter which location you visit. I love their Super Spuds - they smother hashbrowns with cheese, mushrooms, avocado, sourcream and bacon bits. Really nice big slices of avocado! One time we asked for the bacon bits on the side and they gave us 2 whole slices of bacon. That was a great day! I usually order the Florentine Benedict ($21.35). My husband changes it up depending what time of day - Chicken Strips/fries ($15.95) and this time it was the Farmer's Breakfast ($21.35). We get it To Go and enjoy it at home most of the time, although we have eaten in a few times.

First time eating here and we were pleasantly surprised! The food was very good! Service was very good, but the restaurant wasn't busy at all when we were there because we went early and it was during the week (we had to drop off someone early at the hospital to have surgery, so we just walked over from there)! I would definitely go there again if I was in the area!

Great location, amazing service delicious food. Order a side of pancakes that comes with four. Also the omelette with mushrooms and sausage and the wellness omelette with egg whites and spinach, topped with the feta cheese with a side of hashbrowns or your choice of fruit, cottage cheese, and toast.

LOVE Woodys. Have and always will. The food is always great and everyone who works here is absolutely lovely. Been coming here for the last two years and have always had a great time. Classic diner and great location. Hope the Newport location can keep going.

REALLY GOOD DINER! When you're in the mood for a local diner spot this is the place to come. They have a diverse menu selection. Came here with my coworkers and everyone loved what they got. I got the chicken club sandwich with fruit (fruit was very fresh), it was a healthy option. My coworkers got a tuna melt with onion rings, hamburger with fries, traditional club sandwich, and grilled cheese. The service was great and we received our food quickly. We will definitely be back.

After circling beach parking lots for over an hour, we called it quits and decided to go someplace nearby for lunch. Despite the beach being insane, the restaurant was quiet and pretty empty. They also had free parking for the businesses in the area (including the restaurant) so that was a plus. The food was great, bathrooms were clean, but the service was awful. We barely saw our waitress, well, we saw her wondering around the restaurant not doing anything. She rarely checked on our table. The food was great however. I got the BBQ chicken wrap, I was a bit worried it would be packed with black beans but it had a good amount of chicken and other fillings as well. The fries were fresh and crispy, and I loved the BBQ ranch sauce. We also got a brownie sundae, it was really big and we were glad we decided to share instead of each getting our own dessert.

    Egg white omelette. Bacon. Fruit.

Nice diner near the water with an excellent protein heavy breakfast. Will visit again. Parking was easy also.

We drove there and on the outside of the restaurant was a sign the read "Voted best breakfast in Newport Beach" - looks like we found it. Well, maybe at one time it was the best, but definitely not today. The service was mediocre and the staff seemed to be too busy to refill my coffee on the regular. The ambiance is actually very charming and made the dining experience feel very beachy. The place is very clean and the restrooms were well maintained. The food was very mediocre. I had the Seafood Benny and the English muffins were soggy. My plate of food was barely warm when it was served. The hash browns were undercooked and very bland. The bacon was not tender at all and its texture reminded me of jerky. Pro tip for Cappys: Get back to what made you "the best" and tighten up the service and food quality.

I recently went back after many, many years away and I have to say that the current owners have done a fantastic job of keeping what was always special about the place while updating some of the less-than-stellar things that existed. I think the scaled down menu really does the place justice - because you can still get a Dick's Scramble, but they've kept the menu minimal so everything feels intentional and tastes delicious. It's still diner food, but that's exactly why you're here. The coffee is strong and hot, the eggs are fluffy, and the service is friendly and fantastic. Love the old photos of Costa Mesa everywhere and the outdoor seating for families with pets. Dick's is a staple of CM, and you can tell it will continue to be with this great for years to come. I was mildly disappointed with a few things, though. The lobster roll was delicious and definitely the highlight of the meal. The chips were just okay. My latte, unfortunately, was one of the worst I've had... it tasted like milk with just a splash of coffee. The staff was very kind and happily replaced it with an Americano, which was much better. One inconvenience was the restroom situation. The closest bathrooms were by the lighthouse, which is a bit of a walk. I only wanted to rinse the lobster off my fingers, so I ended up using a glass of water outside instead. The service was friendly and accommodating, and the food had some strong points, but the disappointing coffee and lack of convenient restrooms kept this from being a higher-rated experience. I would give it a 3.5 star but since its not allowed, the experience was pleasant enough for a 4. Prices were decent id say

Located in a strip mall with plenty of parking, they are open from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. every day for breakfast and lunch. We came on a Sunday morning and were seated right away. The menu offers plenty of tasty options. It was tough to decide. I ordered the Crab Benny and had my eggs soft-poached, as requested, and they were perfectly runny. The croissant was a nice change from the usual English muffin. The herb-seasoned wedge fries were also great and crispy. The Brown Butter Hollandaise sauce was creamy and flavorful. My family also enjoyed the tomato bagel and the kids' pancake. They cleaned their plate in no time. The portions were good for the price and quality. Our morning hunger was satisfied. If you are inclined to enjoy an alcoholic beverage with your meal, the menu offers some great options like brunch cocktails, mimosas, wine, and more. I'll have to try one of their house cocktails sometime. I opted to get a refreshing cold brew this time. Upon entering the dining area, I was struck by its bright, modern look and local vibes. There is also patio seating, perfect for the SoCal weather. The staff was kind and attentive. It was cool that they refer to customers as "family" when greeting them before taking orders. And it came from a breakfast joint, which is super rare in and of itself. Having lived in Southern California for many many years, I thought I had seen and experienced just about everything in the way of good places to eat. As I was driving around looking for some breakfast, I stumbled across oeb breakfast. And I am so glad I did. For starters, when you walk through the door, the place is bright and Cherry and has just the right amount of whimsy. It's neatly laid out and everything is in full view. It only took a moment my server to come get me at the front and direct me to a table. Let's talk about the service. Having been in the food service industry, I know what it takes to have a great dining experience. Caesar, who was my waiter, took care of me in a level that I have not seen in a very long time. Personable, gracious, accommodating, and helpful are just a few of the words I would use to describe my experience being served by him. I asked for coffee and water and within moments it arrived on my table. Side note, the coffee is off the chain! It is a brand called Umbria and it is amazing. After scanning the menu, I opted for the beef bulldogi Benedict with the beef Tallow fries. I asked for the fries extra crispy, and ask for my milk to be served with breakfast. If you've read any of my Yelp reviews on breakfast places, you know that that is one of my litmus tests for the accuracy of the order. If I have to ask for my milk after the meal's been delivered, they're not doing their job. Not that I'm picky, for me. It is just a way to determine how good of a listener the server actually is. It didn't take long at all for the food to be delivered. The presentation was absolutely amazing, as we eat with our eyes. First, I have to say that the way the food was plated was definitely a work of art. Once the food was dropped off half of me was going. I wonder if they will remember... And before I could finish my thought Caesar showed back up with the milk. Home run! The food itself was absolutely wonderful, I cannot remember when I have enjoyed a breakfast as much as this one. All the flavors were there, it was perfectly balanced, and was just a pleasant dining experience overall. Bragging on Caesar again, as I was sitting there, the restaurant started to get very busy, he handled himself with such Grace and poise and didn't let the mounting tension frazzle him. Again, I wish this place was in my hometown so I could come here more often, but you can bet that I will be back here multiple times. Bottom line? There aren't many places that I would tell friends they definitely absolutely had to go to. But oeb breakfast is now on the top of the list for me to recommend to my friends.
