Great bbq! Love the pulled pork and the Beef Brisket. My favorite place for bbq. Baked beans are delicious. Love all the sides offered.

WOW I cannot believe how rude the employees here are, a young man (Jeff, or maybe Jordan) was making fun of customers as soon as he was out of their line of vision. When brought to management, a woman with dark brown hair said she would handle it but never did. The food was adequate, and aside from that service was as expected. Stopped in here while out of town with work. When walking in the door you could just smell the smoke so we was expecting that goodness and I feel we was let down. As one person has said stay away from the potato salad. It plain out sucks. If I wanted to eat sour cream I'd just buy a bowl of it. The pulled pork was ok when they pulled the pork instead of tearing the meat the work used her hand and rolled it like it was bead dough. The BBQ sauce wasn't very good it was kept in kettles so it was piping hot and not in a good way, it was very acidic. Don't think I'll be back here. read more

Not hard to find 'store front' next to 5 guys & Fries. Initial impression is 'omg, what have we here.' Dark & dingy appearance. Order & pay at the counter. My beef brisket kinda dry but tasty after flooding it with BBQ sauce. I also chopped up the onion slice & pickle into it. Not bad. Wife & step son had pork ribs. They were outstanding. Good bark, yet pink on inside. Sides, baked beans, mac&cheese, string beans were good. Free soft ice cream for desert. Overall a bit pricey, lacks atmosphere, good quality ribs. I didn't even want to give them a 1 star rating my experience was so horrible! Dirty restaurant, rude staff, the worst bbq I've ever had in my life! When I tried to talk to management (and not even to get a refund) they didn't care and said they could what they want because their family owns it. Very small self-serve but BIG on taste. The special of the day was pulled pork and 2 sides. The pork was tender and juicy tried 2 kinds of sauce but personally preferred the sweet BBQ sauce. The two sides were BBQ beans and potato salad both were very good. The other members of our party had the brisket and Mac what a comforting meal Mac and cheese with smoked brisket on top. The pulled pork was good...ham is too...never tried much else..green beans not very good..or mac n cheese...fries are tasty..you must add your own sauce. .but you have 3 kinds to choose from. I recently stopped here on a whim, there aren't many good BBQ places in the area so we decided to try it out. When we walked in we weren't greeted, and there was no one inside which was odd being it was around lunch time. We went ahead and ordered anyways and got our drinks. The pop machine was out so we asked the manager stephanie to change it, in which her response was an eye roll but she did change it. Once we got our food it was dry, and looked as if it has been microwaved. The beef brisket was chewy and rubbery. Needless to say we won't be back here, rude customer service and awful food, dirty environment etc. read more

We stopped in for lunch after reading some other Yelp reviews. It was delicious! The owner's daughter who was very friendly gave us some recommendations as it was our first time at a Dickey's. I had the Frito stack, which was a very generous portion of Fritos, baked beans, beef brisket, onions and cheese. And you get a free vanilla ice cream cone with your meal! read more

We stopped at Dickey's in Beckley this past Sunday with high expectations, and we were not disappointed in the least. As we walked in the doors of Dickey's BBQ, it became apparent that a previous announcement I saw was spot-on about "the Beckley community is very excited" about the opening of Dickey's, as all tables were occupied and there was a line that nearly stretched out the door. This made for a sizable wait, but it was certainly worth it! As my family and I are vegetarians, we stayed away from the meat and ordered several selections from Dickeys' homestyle sides. I've tasted some excellent fried okra in my day, but none better than Dickey's, which has the crispiness and flavor that other fried okra can only envy. The Waffle Iron Fries, which are excellent dipped in any of Dickeys' three varieties of barbecue sauce, were above average and quite tasty. The mac & cheese, while not the best I've ever tasted, is also quite good. But in my opinion, none of these can be topped by the Jalapeno Beans, which may well be the best beans I've ever tasted, with incredibly complex flavors and a decent kick. If sweet tea is your thing, then you likely will love Dickey's take on Southern Sweet Tea. An added treat is the free soft-serve ice cream, of which I sampled a cone after enjoying my meal. Obviously, this ice cream is of no great quality, but still has a nice flavor, and the kids (and some adults) will love it. Overall, I have almost no negatives about Dickey's (although a drop of Original BBQ sauce flew into my eye as I was closing the saucepot lid, that certainly wasn't Dickey's fault). I would go so far as to say that Dickey's serves some of the best food I've ever eaten! I absolutely recommend the Beckley location of Dickey's BBQ Pit! Stopped thru on our way to Princeton after finding the place on yelp--we love a good BBQ joint, so decided to check it out--sooo glad we did! Casual environment, nice staff (they don't talk much if they're busy, but they're not rude), DELICIOUS food (especially the brisket & potato salad!), & very reasonable prices for a BBQ joint--plus everyone gets a free ice cream cone if you dine in! Wish we had this place back home--will definitely be eating there again in the future! read more

I can't say enough good things about Dickey's! The brisket and the pulled pork are both amazing. My boyfriend is also in love with their food too, it's what he requested I cater his birthday with last year. Last night he brought me home a brisket sandwich...to die for! Terrible ribs, dry, tough, smokey but flavorless. Mac n cheese comes straight out of a box. Baked beans, not baked but dumped from a can with bell peppers added. Just gross, not freshly cooked ribs, better off going to applebees and getting their ribs, or going to mc donalds and ordering a mc rib and we all know that the mc rib is not a riblet at all! I travel through Beckley West Va several times a year and always try and stop at Dickie's. We stopped at the one near the Interstate several years ago and fell in love with the food. We found out that they had another store, 1002 N. Eisenhower Rd, Beckley, and usually go there now. The choices of meat and the variety of side dishes is better than most bar-b-q places we go. My favorite is the Brisket and the fried okra. You can have a platter, meat and two sides, or a sandwich with sides. You choose your meat, and they weigh out your portion then chop it in to fine tender meat that you can add your choice of sauce. They have the Dickies original, a sweet sauce and a spicy sauce that are all served warm. Another feature they have are sturdy plastic cups that you can take home as a souvenir. Food is fabulous, sauces are delicious, service OUT OF THIS WORLD! We used Dickey's to cater a family event, their customer service can't be beat!! The fact that the food was gone (ALL the food was gone) spoke volumes. The only disappointment was not having any leftovers...which were sought after. Can't wait to use them again!! read more

Wow we are from out of state and heard nothing but good things about this place. Our dinner was incredible !! Would recommend this place in a heart beat!!!
