Ordered through their website, when I arrived and told the dude I had a mobile order and gave him my name he proceeded to turn around to head to the kitchen to check. His pants were half down and proceeded to scratch his bare ass and then rub his face after on his way in which immediately had me questioning my lunch decision. I scheduled a door dash order ahead of time (about an hour) before it would be picked up. My door dasher called me at the time of pick up to inform me that the doors were locked and they would not let him in at 7pm. The website, google, and door dash all said that the store closed at 9 pm that day. No notice from the store during that hour before the order should have been ready that they wouldn't be fulfilling it. Wow! went in here because I love BBQ and was passing thru from Texas. the smell is the 1st thing that got me and I should have left, but.. I decided to stay because it did look clean. the young man behind the counter was friendly, but as I watched after I ordered, he would sample the meat behind the counter as we waited on the other side..and I did not see him wash his hands after the sample... sigh... the young lady was very rude, didn't act like she wanted to be there and treated customers in front of me and then myself like we were a nuisance. she also took out her earbud and proceeded to clean it at the register. yuck! then move on to getting our food... without washing her hands... I ordered through door dash and it was on a Monday. When the driver arrived to pick up my order, he called to say they didn't have most of the things I ordered, so I asked "what do they have?" The answer was "ribs and sausage". I should have cancelled the order but I settled for that. On arrival of my order which was to include a Diet Coke, I got an empty cup!!!! I did not get a chili Mac but I was charged for it as well as for the Diet Coke. The ribs were cold in the center. Man, I love me some smoked meats, and Dickey's doesn't disappoint. My man, Va-shawn, working that knife always brings a smile to my face. Good to see you again, brother! The brisket today was just right; tender and fat, with a terrific bark and lots of yummy seasoning. Past visits have included ribs, always delicious, and even the turkey breast which was so good I wanted seconds. And thirds. No visit is complete without the fried okra, always cooked to order, hot and crispy. Sooooo good. They have other stuff, ha ha ha, but I haven't gotten past the okra to try it. A big yellow cup full of Diet Dr. Pepper or fresh tea, or even a root beer float! Oh, I forgot to mention soft serve available for the low, low price of free? Yeah, they got that. The new guy behind the counter was clearly high on something, couldn't pay attention and ask me same questions over and over with his eyes completely red and dilated. I tried this restaurant out of state and throughly enjoyed the food so I ran at the chance to relive my experience. That didn't happen. I ordered the ribs with potato salad and Mac and cheese. Though I paid for a meal with the drink included I was only provided one small cup. My total was about $20. The potato salad and Mac and cheese tasted ok, as if it came prepackaged and scoop to serve. I opened my box of ribs to see two slices of raw onion and three pickle slices on top of the paper that sat on top of my ribs that came with the sauce in a tiny cup and wasn't enough to cover the rib. I took a bite of the rib and it was so salty I jumped. Even after applying the sauce, it was incredibly too salty and not edible. I paid $20 for a meal that I ended up throwing away. read more

Good job. Food was solid. Dude at the lock was courteous. Kind. Got me exactly what I wanted. Cashier was a bit rude on a Saturday afternoon. Lady had the stuffed potato and she said it as perfect. But upon inspection the skin was dry and hard which tells me that they reheated from yesterday or it's been in the steam table since early this morning. I had an amazing meal here today. I walked in the unlocked door maybe 5 minutes before they officially opened to be greeted by genuinely nice employees who seemed happy to be there. It smells amazing in here and the dining area is very clean. The food was amazing and prepared immediately. Usually we love this place and wanted to support them in this crisis by ordering delivery. it was delivered by Door Dash and when I opened the packs I discovered both of the sides for one of the orders were missing. When I called to tell them, I was told they couldn't deliver the missing items. I asked why they couldn't call Door Dash back to get the items but he said he couldn't do that. I took my wife and two kids to eat at Dickey's Sunday evening where it is advertised kids eat free. Not only was I charged for two kids meals, but I was also charged for their drinks which comes free with kids meal. I went back up with my receipt to ask if kids still eat for free on Sundays as the big sign on the door states. The guy apologized. Apparently the guy who rang me up was new and didn't know. As I understood it, no one was there at that time that could give me a refund. I was asked to give my name and phone number so someone could call me back on Monday. This review is for the anniversary meal for 8.80 First off I would like to say for the price it's not worth it although the sandwich was good after pulling off all the gristle and fat. it was about the size of a mc double, Not very big at all . The fries were the best part but that so called cobbler was not cobbler at all, it was more like a snack cake pulled from the fridge after about a week it was like eating a cold fruit Newton. Service is always friendly and everything I've had there is well done From the tacos, to the sides, the turkey, brisket, pulled pork, the sausage and chicken, I've had it all and not once has it been anything but stellar. My name is John, and I am a BBQ aficionado. To me, the smell of BBQ smoke wafting in the air is intoxicating. Unfortunately there are very few true BBQ restaurants around and I am stuck making my own more times than not. Imagine my surprise when I was driving around a popular strip mall in Covington and saw this Dickey's. I knew that soon I would have to try it, and a couple of days later, I did. My order was take-out, but the inside of the restaurant is quite inviting. It reminded me of the many roadside BBQ joints throughout Texas, but in Louisiana so it was that much better. The staff were very helpful putting my order together and seemed to genuinely enjoy their jobs. Speaking of my order, I made it without speaking to anyone. Dickey's uses a pretty easy to navigate online ordering system where all I had to do was show up, take my food and go. Everything else was done online. Being the detail oriented Yelper that I am, I wanted to experience several different items so I opted for the three meat platter. Mine was ordered with brisket, pulled pork and ribs. The pork was slightly dry, but once doused in sauce it was edible. The brisket had a good flavor, but was completely cold. I realize BBQ is not fast food so it may get stored at some point, but cold brisket is not appetizing at all. The ribs on the other hand were warm, smokey and very good. I am sure I will give Dickey's another try, but this experience rates a solid three stars. read more

I was behind an elderly lady who had never been there and was trying to figure things out. This little skinny long haired white dude had such an attitude and seemed frustrated having to answer any question. He was just rude. I just turned and walked out. Before when I was there the same dude seemed frustrated having to get off his phone and help someone. I think I will be finding another lunch spot. read more

Went here with high hopes for a good bbq place near the house, sadly this was a very disappointing experience, the food was extremely overcooked and dry. On top of the miserable food, the service was aggressive and quite rude. The man fixing our three and two plate meals, constantly slammed everything around while getting angry at us whenever he put the wrong meat on the plate and then continued to just throw pulled pork in a bin with a pile of mixed meats. Bar-b-q here used to be good before Covid but too many flies flying around so we stopped coming to this place, Not to mention that the employee cutting the meat was sweating too much that it seems like the sweat is falling on the meat. I was craving bar-b-q and happened to pass by this place and I noticed that the place didn't have much customers as it was before. I was hesitant but went to try it again and ordered a brisket sandwich. The bread was served cold and oily. Took one bite and when I looked at the brisket inside the sandwich, it was mostly burnt. I just sorted out the meat and did not really finish it nor eat the rest of the bread. I came home feeling bloated and kept burping since then. It must have some bad bacteria. I'm feeling sick up to this moment. I wanted to vomit to get it out of my system. The place is dirty and the brisket sandwich is worse than junk food. The Department of Health needs to visit this place and observe how they operate. I'm afraid that their quality of food and service would make other people sick too. read more

This place is horrible food was cold. We ordered two chopped bakers. They almost forgot the bbq sauce. I live less than a few minutes away. Upon arriving home the chopped baker was cold. I heated them up in the microwave and to say the least. The food was horrible. We have ate at Dickey's in Texas and had awesome food. The food here is so disappointing. We are trying to support businesses during this pandemic but Hell the food is horrible. Maybe the owner should eat there and see what it is like.
