I stopped in here for lunch one day because I've been seeing it for a while and wanted to try this out. This place is actually bigger on the inside then it looks. The ladies that served me was very friendly. They let me sample before I bought anything which was a welcome surprise. I ended up getting the chicken breast, pulled pork, baked potato casserole & Coleslaw. The chicken was flavorful and tender. The pork was tender & delicious. My husband got takeout from here around 8pm last night. I sort of expected a 'bottom of the barrel' meal since it was close to closing time-- not the case! We both got pork sandwiches and they were EXCELLENT, melted in my mouth. They had run out of their original BBQ sauce, so we mixed sweet and hot together-- not a bad combo, I totally suggest trying it. Hubby also got a side of fried okra that was seasoned nicely. Mac and cheese wasn't too shabby either! (Apparently I was way too hungry to take photos, but next time, friends, next time!) I can't speak on behalf of the restraint cleanliness or COVID precautions, but I had pretty good food last night so I would have zero qualms about going back for more. We have long loved Dickeys in several cities and have sadly seen them close many locations. Spotted this one while in the area and were happy to see it. First thing you notice is how dark and dingy it is inside. Place is in desperate need of lighting and a deep cleaning. There's a ladder propped in a corner, boxes of supplies stacked on tables, many items on the menu are just marked through, and it's just not clean anywhere. Bathrooms have junk in them as well. The food wasn't up to what we remembered and enjoyed, fries were very greasy, brisket very fatty. The two employees were friendly and helpful, perhaps the only bright spot. read more

Food is great. Service is super slow. I know the meat is cut to order but the meat guy has got to take more than one order at a time. This is the 4th time I have been to this location with the same result. My advice is to either order online or be prepared to wait. It took 15min to get my food with only 1 couple ahead of me. First let me say, I love the food. I when last week and got the pork lunch with slaw and okra. Every bit of the food was great. I ate the sandwich and some of the sides. Every bite was great. The problem was that no one wore a mask. Not the employees or most of the customers. It was foolish of me to eat there but I took as many precautions as I could. But I won't do it again. The BBQ itself was not the best, not the worst. The Brunswick stew was fair, a little spicy, but flavorful. The service, however, was absolutely atrocious. The young man behind the counter was rude, belligerent, and had 10+ people standing there waiting for well over 20 minutes while he did everything from send text messages to prep meat. We asked if we could order since we thought he was waiting on us and he sharply replied that he was busy and we could wait. My husband really enjoys a good bbq spot so, today we decided to try them out. I'd never heard of the Dickey's restaurant chain. When we entered the restaurant, the aroma was very welcoming. The sweet smell of smoked bbq filled the room. The staff was friendly and promptly took our order. I had the 2 meat platter. I selected the chicken and pulled pork with Mac n cheese for my 2 sides. (I really like Mac n cheese :-) The original bbq sauce had a nice tang to it and was very flavorful. It complemented the food well. You can enjoy self-served refills on your drinks and a self-serve ice cream machine is there if you want an ice cream cone for dessert. We enjoyed our meal. My daughters ribs slid off of the bone and my husband liked the brisket. I gave it 4 stars because the meat portions were small. Specifically the chicken. Also, the ice cream could have been creamier. It seemed more like ice milk. (I'm comparing the ice cream to Chick-fil-a's ice cream which I really like) It's not a deal breaker in making a decision to return or not, just citing my preferences. Good food. Great little spot for barbecue plates, sandwiches, and ribs! Sides are good, too, including fried okra, and other veggies, as well as fries, slaw, rolls, etc. I usually get the ribs, which are beyond tender and tasty. Nice ordering/cook staff that are always friendly. Dining room has ample seating for a cafe, but you can always order it to go and take a rack of ribs home to the family! read more

Dickies is one of my favorite places to eat in town. I especially love going on Sundays after church because the kids eat free. I get the same thing every time: the brisket and green beans. My family and I have visited about two or three times. The first visit was good enough for a second trip but it o my went down hill from there. The sandwiches were good. I like the meat; however Athe fries and okra tasted like the very grease they were cooked in. The green beans tasted like they came straight out off can. And the baked beans were just nasty. Being from Texas, Dickeys is my favorite bbq. The Douglasville store needs a manager at night. The food is good, when it isn't out. They even have Frito Pie and tacos. Tonight I went to purchase a rack of ribs (on rib night) and two 3 meat dinners. After waiting in line for 15 mins and watching the young guy in front of me flirting with the two young ladies behind the counter instead of placing his order i left without anyone asking me if they could help me. I ended up going to Shanes Rib Shack (which is closer to where I live) for the first time. They got my $50 instead. I hope management corrects their problems. I called Dickey's BBQ tonight (Saturday) around 6:00pm to place an order because their online ordering was down. No one picked up the first 2 times I called. The 3rd time I called, Natalie picked up and told me she needed to place me on a quick hold and she would be right back to take my order. As I waited on hold I decided I would start driving that way (at that point I had been on hold for 10 min), I got to the restaurant 20 minutes later (at that point i was still on hold when I walked into the restaurant. It was not busy inside at all. I mentioned to the gentleman behind the counter that I had been waiting on hold for over 30 minutes and he said "are you sure it was with us" I said yes, Natalie put me on hold. He looked at the girl next to him that was just standing there and said "oh" then he said "what do you need" i proceeded to order a rib plate and chicken plate and he said "were sold out of ribs and chicken". I explained that would have been nice to know over the phone 30 minutes ago. He didn't say a word and walked back into the kitchen and Natalie just sat behind the counter on her phone. The customer service is awful. I went down the street to Williamson brothers where the customer service was amazing from start to finish. I haven't had Dickey's before, but after that experience; I'm okay with that. The owners and managers need to hire a new staff that is geared toward better customer service. read more

First I have to say, I HATE DICKEY'S, the chain. I have eaten in them in Texas their home state and really do not care for them. But a friend got me to go to this location and WOW! IT WAS GREAT! The staff is friendly, the food is fresh and tasty and I am not sure about the other review's comment on slow, Our wait seemed appropriate. Over all a very nice experience that I will do again. I had a chance to chat with the GM and he seems to be a great guy interested in putting out the best product he can. BTW grab the ribs if you go. Maybe this store can make the Dickey's in Joshua, TX and Cleburne, TX better. read more
