I have tried this place several times and want to like it, the meat tends to be in the dry side which is unfortunate and I often feel it doesn't come with enough sauce. Considering that BBQ is so expensive as is, it's a bummer to be disappointed. Our pulled pork sandwiches were super dry tonight. Last time I got brisket and it was similar. Ordered from Uber. Two choices of meat plates with sides. The brisket was inedible, all fat, small quantity, in both orders. Fat and little meat on three tiny ribs, and chicken was okay. The sides delivered were wrong (laughingly small) and the forgot the extra bbq sauce for which we were charged. $50.00 plus for this garbage and delivery charge too! We've decided that they give out their fatty cuts, small portions to delivery customers, harder to complain. We ordered from here for the first time through Grub Hub. The food was delivered fast and arrived before expected. The food was not packaged very neatly, but all of the containers were closed. The exception was the fried and okra which were just put in thin paper cones and spilled. Whatever. No big deal. My wife ordered the two meat plate but instead of getting beef and pork, got beef and turkey. She also got a roll instead of cornbread as ordered. But she really liked the beef "it just fell apart!". Her creamed spinach was too salty. All of my food was as ordered and delicious. Except they gave us this tiny ramekin of BBQ sauce which was nowhere near enough. Maybe if they had included two of them or a larger size ramekin. Either way they definitely needed to include more. Then... Most BBQ mac and cheese just sucks... I'm sorry, it just does. It's bland, they use like american cheese or something and it sucks. THIS mac and cheese is actually pretty good. It's actually flavorful and tastes like cheddar. We both loved it. The baked potato casserole is like something I dream about doing but most people poo-poo because "it's too much". It's great. I got a 3 meat platter on September 25,2023. When I tried to pay with my credit card I was told "Oh, sorry the charge didn't go through". Another employee tried to run my credit card again and I was again informed "Oh the charge didn't go through". So after being assured that the credit transaction had been cancelled I paid cash for my meal. When I got home to check my credit card, lo & behold, the charge did go through. I paid TWICE for one meal at Dickie's BBQ. When i called the next day to get the credit charge reversed I was told to call the owner "Scott". Of course "Scott" goes straight to voice-mail. I left a message explaining the mysterious credit card transaction. I also texted "Scott" asking for help with the credit charge. "Scott hasn't deigned to respond to my complaint. No one called back in over 35 minutes to take order, so needing confirmation, I called back to say 'nevermind'. Placing an order should not be complicated nor delayed that long. What drew me to Dickey's is the "real pit" barbecue that they advertise. That was not my experience three different times I purchased ribs and chicken wings from Dickey's in Everett. The chicken wings were flavorless, hard, and dry as if they had been fried bear without seasoning or flour. The ribs were also flavorless, and had been boiled then baked. There was no evidence of "real pit". What made the meat so terrible is that its flavor was not as advertised and therefore not what I was expecting. I gave Dickey's in Everton three opportunities to live up to their name. They failed. I will not buy food from the Everett location again . . . . Went to Dickey's BBQ last night and it was my first time going there. It was a treat from a friend. I am glad that I didn't have to pay for the food . For (2) neat and (2)sides for about $11.00 I thought it was a good price til you see how much meat you get. So No it was worth it. Also they have (3) different types of BBQ dipping sauces. For me I like a little thicker sauce, but Dickey's was too runny. Overall it was ok for this, but not sure if I plan on coming back to this BBQ joint anytime soon. read more

I have never been a huge fan of barbecue......(I'm pausing, because if I get hit by lightning for saying that, i don't want to waste anymore time typing....)..... OK, it looks like the coast is clear, lol. So, yes, I said it. Have never been a fan. However, we rent out our former home to a couple from Texas, and even THEY said to try the fried okra. So, we went. My hubby always goes for some sort of mixed meat plate, and he always likes it. He gets to choose between beef, brisket, turkey, chicken, a few different type of sausage. One is a cheddar filled sausage, and I believe one is a Polish variety. Regardless, everything we had tried so far has been great. It's a new place and you can tell that some of the staff is still training, but so far, after 4 visits, everything has been spot on; consistent, still warm, and tasty. My personal favorite is the beef brisket sandwich. It's simple - Meat, bun, some fresh cut white onion and pickle slices if you so choose, and that's about it. You can also request either a slice or some shreds of cheddar. You get your BBQ sauce on the side, and they have three kinds; Original, spicy, and sweet. All of them are good. I honestly can't pick a favorite, although to meet somewhere in the middle, I've been sticking to the original as of late. The sides aren't overly amazing, but they are good. Keep in mind that this is basically one tiny notch about fast good BBQ. I've tried several of what they have to offer, and I'll just break it down for you here... Waffle Fries: Exactly what you'd expect. Hot, generally good tasting as long as they ARE hot, and worth ordering if you like that sort of thing. Mac and Cheese: I've had it twice. The first time, I didn't like it at all. It reminded me of the crap you got served at lunchtime in the elementary school cafeteria. Last time, this week, it was actually REALLY good. The taste had improved, the consistency had improved, and I liked it a lot. Will have to try it a third time to see what the heck is going on here. Any of the beans: Haven't tried, but they have a few options. Fried Okra: Haven't tried, to my friend's dismay. I want to, though. My friend thought it was the bomb-diggity. Potato casserole: Think of it as warm potato salad. It's pretty average. You'll have to add salt and pepper for yourself before you figure out whether you like it or not. Caesar Salad: Underwhelming. Leaves were chopped weird, dressing was almost non-existent, was just some dry shredded romaine leaves with no lemon, no tomato, no crouton, no nothing. Is it the best BBQ you've had? If you are a BBQ connoisseur, then no. Is it the best BBQ place around here? Arguably. If you are just looking for a decent BBQ place where you have good service, reasonable prices, a clean restaurant, some nice guys working there, and consistently delicious food, then this is your place. I can't arrest to the cleanliness or service at this location as I've never dined in, but I have ordered delivery three times recently and have been fairly pleased with the food for this purpose. It's always nice to have a lower carb option for delivery and Dickey's is a decent choice. Most of the time I've stuck to ordering the brisket, but I've tried 4-5 of the sides, sliders, and pie as well. Everything is packed well and excess packaging seems to be kept to a minimum. It's easy to dish out or eat from the provided containers and it isn't a feat to pack back up. I do enjoy the brisket best, it has a nice crust and is tender but even the spicy sauce is very sweet. The only thing that consistently disappoints me about the brisket is the temperature. It is always cold when it arrives. The sides always arrive steaming hot, but the mains are always room temperature or colder. I always want my food very hot, but I was tolerating it until yesterday when my less picky husband microwaved his food as soon as it arrived and grumbled about it being cold again. As he has ordered different mains on almost every order it seems like this issue isn't specifically affecting the brisket and other mains may arrive lukewarm too. That said, there's never leftovers and it's a decent amount of food for the price. I've never had to wait too long for the order to arrive and it's a nice alternative to pizza when you want to stay in. read more

The kids really wanted to eat BBQ for lunch. I was a little worried because it was very hot outside, and a big lunch could put a damper on my swimming plans for the afternoon--too much meat before physical activity could transcend into a disaster of limited fun. Luckily I didn't have any of my preconceived problems. This is a BBQ stand for those who are concerned about portions. The three meet lunch came with three pieces of meet, each slightly bigger than a thick slice of bacon. Moreover, the cooked temperature of the meet actually cooled my core body temperature. The atmosphere reminded me of trying to get a table in a busy college town bar, and the service was comparable to being waited on by my seven year old son. I liked the pulled pork (even had some of the crust pieces in it) and the smoked cheddar sausage and they were great: flavorful, moist and tender. Before I moved to Seattle, I lived in Dallas. I was happy to be in Seattle but I DID miss the BBQ. I was thrilled to find Dickey's here! Don't get me wrong, there are some reasonable places around, but for real Texas BBQ, ya gotta go with Dickey's. The sides are awesome too. Not only that but the Everett Dickey's is 3 minutes from my brother's house so...I probably visit him more often :-) I recently had an opportunity to use their catering service to feed 40 hungry people - outside, in December - and they were AWESOME! They were on time, everything was packaged as requested and delicious as usual. They called me to follow up after the fact. Friendly, efficient and yummy. Can't beat it. I have eaten alot of BBQ in my life, I have lived in a couple of places in the South and this hands down is the BEST BBQ I have had in the NW!! (Plus, they have a drive thru, someone was a Genius, with that idea!!!) My boyfriend and I both got the 2 meat plates, both with pulled pork and the ribs...both of the meats were moist and tasty, my bf said it didn't even need any sauces on the meat, which is pretty rare for him to say!! The ribs were so well cooked the meat just slid off the bone. For sides we split the mac and cheese, potato casserole, baked beans and creamed spinach. All were flavorful, and delicious. We also had to try the chili cheese fries (my bf's first time having them). These did not disappoint either! Than for dessert I tried the blondie brownie which was ok, next time I definitely want to try the pecan pie!! The only minor complaints was one for service, the employee making the plates had an ear bud in and I had asked him a question and he couldn't hear and we kept going back and forth, which was annoying...and also this is one of the ONLY BBQ places I have ever been to that didn't have cornbread, even though their were sign pictures of them and of wings, which weren't on the menu either! But, all in all it was an Amazing place and can't wait to go back and try more wonderful food!!! read more

This is a weird one... are there better bbq places? Sure. But for consistency, value, and convenience it is hard to beat Dickeys. I think we've tried every meat and most sides on the menu at this point and while we have preferences (ie. Hubby likes the onion tangles and I won't touch them), everything is pretty good. I will say though that if you order the 2 (or 3) meat plates, you should get more than one cup of sauce. I'm a pretty light saucer and it still isn't enough for my preferences. read more

I live with a Texas Girl. So we travel to Texas to visit friends and family. Texas BBQ is the best that I've ever had. I've had amazing BBQ in and around Austin, Waco, San Antonio, The Hill Country and Dallas. I haven't been able to satisfy my Texas BBQ cravings in Seattle much... until last night. Dickie's Barbecue Pit was like walking into what I remember, and what I crave. The clean, orderly restaurant had great photos of the original Dickies in Dallas to help set the mood. We were warmly greeted and fully taken care of by the super friendly team there, including the Franchise owner. I chose several meats and sides. The favorites were the Pulled Pork (Hand Pulled right in front of you...awesome), Brisket, Smoked Sausage and the Ribs....Oh the Ribs. Everything is Mesquite Pit Barbecued, which is important. There is a sign above the beverage station that states all meats are prepared over Mesquite Wood daily, so supplies can be limited. On this day the had sold out of Chicken Breast. I will be back for that at another time, because that tells it's that good. As for the sides, we chose the Baked Beans, Baked Potato Casserole, Green Beans with Bacon and Caesar Salad. The Beans and the Casserole were at the top, and all were very good. The secret here is that Dickies is a Franchise. In the Franchisee/Franchisor world, the Franchisee follows the path that the Franchisor set to be successful. This is key so that you can have the same experience in Dallas, Seattle, Duluth or Salem. It's solid at this location because the experience and the flavors were just like being back in Texas. They even have Fried Okra, which you cannot find here. That, in itself is worth mentioning. We went there with an Entertainment coupon. The two young men were pleasant, and helpful. They greeted and said bye to guests, that's rare, but nice. We really liked the brisket sandwich, the pulled pork was just OK. The soft serve ice cream (complementary) is a nice touch. We made root beer floats for dessert, after our lunch. Meats were cold after I fought to get 5 pieces of ice for my soda. The employee came out afterwards to use the cover to shove into the ice machine to break it up -- still no ice came out. The meat was not only cold, but also very dry. They have free super, super soft and runny soft serve vanilla for free after your meal -- I suggest putting it into your cup with your soda and make a float. Side salad was more dressing, cheese and croutons than lettuce, brisket beans were the best part of the meal. read more
