I've been seeing adds for this place off and on. I never realized there was one so close to me and I'm so glad it is! From the second we walked in the staff was so friendly and took time to explain the menu. Sadly I wasnt more hungry and I'm on a diet. But they have STACKS and Tacos. I will be back for those. But I kept it simple with a pork salad. So good. Light and refreshing. The pork was so juicy and not dry like most places. They have a sauce bar with delicious sweet sauce and an ice cream area. Not to mention large plastic cups you can keep. I highly suggest this spot and I cant wait to go back.

I ordered a 2 meat platter ribs and chicken. This is what I got ? $14 ? This is a kids meal enough to get me aggravated. Never again !!

I work right next door to this place and I never ate here up until today. I needed a different work snack because I am done with delivery Chinese and Kroger food in this specific area. Dickey's BBQ offered my hospitality, inexpensive lunch options, and solid food. When I walked into the food stop I was welcomed by the staff which was very nice. As usual, I never know what I want because I'm mentally fat and want to eat everything. A member of the staff showed me their 7.50 lunch special which was a bbq pulled pork sandwich with a side and drink! Pretty inexpensive and quickly solved my food plight. They also have free vanilla ice cream to sate my hunger while I wait for more food. Rockin'! I got my mid-ice cream appetizer and took it to go! For my side I had okra and I chose regular BBQ sauce because I refuse to take my chances with change. One small thing that upset me with my sandwich is that I asked for the pickles and onions that came with the sandwich and they weren't found anywhere. Clearly, on the wrapping, it said to add the onion and pickles, but they were sadly MIA :(. Although my sandwich was missing its veggies, it tasted very good! The pulled pork was moist and not dry at all, but I know that I've had better BBQ. The bread complemented the meat well because it wasn't soggy bread like how most BBQ stops want to pass their sandwiches. I hate eating BBQ with no toasted bread, but that is just my preference. Another thing is that my food wasn't a mess to eat at all, so I easily scarf it down before work starts. Okra tasted like regular okra; nothing crazy there. I'm just still dreaming of my missing pickles and onions. Overall, the staff is crazy nice, food tasted good to average and I will go here more for lunch, and the food is priced fairly.

The food was okay, however the "barbaque beans" didn't have any BBQ sauce or flavor. A lot of liquid. Wish they had BBQ sauce at the table

The dining area looked clean and well-kept, and the hostess/cashier was genuinely friendly--she took the time to walk us through the menu, drinks, sauces, and even the different pickles, which I appreciated. We ordered the brisket, ribs, mac & cheese, green beans, two sauces (both free), house and spicy pickles (also free), and a Banana Cream Soda. 2 Slices of Brisket - $9 (3.5/5): The brisket was solid overall--tender with a nice, juicy interior and a lightly smoky aroma that came through in each bite. It wasn't dry at all, which is always a win, though it could've had a bit more depth in flavor on its own. That said, it really came alive when paired with the spicy sauce, which added a bold, tangy kick that elevated the meat nicely. 2 Pork Spare Ribs - $7 (4/5): These were definitely a highlight. The ribs were beautifully seasoned with a savory, slightly sweet rub that formed a flavorful crust on the outside. The meat was incredibly tender--so much so that it fell clean off the bone with just a fork, no effort needed. Juicy, rich, and super satisfying, especially with the spicy sauce adding an extra layer of heat and tang. Mac & Cheese - $4.50 (4/5): Very impressive side. The spiral noodles were cooked perfectly--tender but still holding their shape, not mushy at all. What stood out most was the texture: there was a subtle crunch on top, possibly from a light breadcrumb or rice-based topping, which added a nice contrast. The cheese sauce was creamy, rich, and coated every curve of the spirals, so each bite had these little pockets of cheesy goodness that almost "popped" with flavor. The sprinkle of green onions on top added a fresh, slightly sharp brightness that cut through the richness and made the dish feel surprisingly refreshing. Green Beans - $4.50 (3.5/5): These had a great bite to them--crisp-tender with a fresh, vibrant texture. The seasoning was flavorful with a savory base, but what surprised me most was the subtle heat that built up as you ate more. It wasn't overpowering, just a nice, unexpected kick that made them more interesting than your typical side. House Pickles (free) - 2/5: These were very crunchy and had a sharp, vinegary tang that leaned heavily on the sour side. While they were fresh and crisp, the flavor felt a bit one-dimensional and overly acidic for my taste. Spicy Pickles (free) - 4/5: Much better balance here. Still nice and crunchy with that same sour backbone, but the added heat gave them a bold, zesty edge that made them way more enjoyable. The spice lingered just enough to keep you reaching for another. Banana Cream Soda - $2 (2.5/5): This was light, fizzy, and refreshing with a smooth, slightly creamy mouthfeel. The banana flavor was present but very subtle--more of a faint, artificial sweetness than a rich, ripe banana taste. It leaned more toward a mellow vanilla-cream soda vibe with just a hint of banana in the background. Not bad, just a bit underwhelming if you're expecting a bold, dessert-like banana flavor. Overall, a solid BBQ spot with friendly service and some standout items--especially the ribs and mac & cheese. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the mood for a laid-back, no-frills lunch.

Let's start with the appetizers. The hush puppies are a must. They come with a hot honey glaze on top, and that combo is ridiculously good. Sweet, crispy, and just packed with flavor. The fried okra was something I've never had before. No breading--just split in half and fried as-is. Super unique and honestly really good. If you like okra, you've gotta try it this way. For sandwiches, my wife had the pig melt, which is their take on a pulled pork sandwich on Texas toast. The pork was tender, juicy, and stacked nicely, definitely a solid choice. I had the BBQuban, their BBQ twist on a Cuban sandwich, and it was excellent. Great flavor, well put together, and something a little different from the usual. The meats across the board were done right. The turkey was tender and served in big, thick slices. The brisket had a good bark and paired well with their BBQ sauce. Sides were all solid. The mac and cheese was creamy (I added a little salt and it was perfect for me), baked beans were flavorful, and the collard greens were on point. And the banana pudding... easily one of the best I've had in the North Georgia area. If you're going here, don't skip it. The space itself is fun with a bar area, and the service was great. Everyone was friendly, and the food came out fast. Parking is available right out front, but just make sure you scan the code and register your tag so you don't get ticketed. You can also park in nearby decks if you prefer. Overall, this is a strong BBQ spot in Gainesville. Great variety, solid execution, and definitely worth checking out.
